11th of September, 2009
Michael is 51, Angela is 45, and Jake is 46

Michael: "This is too nice," Angela sighed, dunking herself deeper into the hot, bubbling water of our balcony hot tub. "We owe Paris an apology."

"You owe her one. I was all in for this idea to begin with." I said.

She splashed some water my way, totally missing. I laughed a little, making her eyes roll.

My wife then closed them and leaned back.

I followed her actions, enjoying the view of her and the alps that were spread out in front of us.

Her feet were propped up on my lap, my hands resting on them. Mindlessly, I gently caressed her skin.

The water moved as Angela came closer. "A little higher, Mike."

Opening my eyes, she was now almost against me, our thighs touching.

With her arm around my shoulders, my wife pulled me down for a kiss.

Just like she wanted, I let my fingers go up her thighs, stopping in between them.

It wouldn't hurt to tease her.

"Michael, higher." she complained, opening her legs.

"Like that?" I smirked as I played with the material of the bikini bottom she wore.

With a frustrated groan, she took it off, and quickly pushed herself to sit on me.

I untied her top, "Oh, that's what you want..."

It fell down, exposing her beautiful breasts.

Snickering, she hit my shoulder before kissing me again.

"If you ever tease me like that again..." Angela joked.

"You'll what, babe?"

"I'll make sure you don't get any for a long time. Now take these damn swim shorts off already, they're in my way..."

She eased me into it, grinding over my covered crotch.

"Come on, Mike..."

Just as her hands worked to undress me, a knock on the door was heard.

"Ignore it," Angela ordered, shoving her tongue into my mouth. "Don't let them ruin the mood..."

Distracted from whoever was at the door, I let her take over. Her lips moved against mine hungrily when she took me in.

"Just like that, baby." I moaned.

She kept going and held onto me, her breathing heavy.

A couple minutes passed before louder knocks made her stop. "Damn it. Go see who it is and tell them to go away."

"What happened to 'don't let them ruin the mood?'" I panted as she got off my lap.

"It was already ruined when they knocked." she shrugged.

Annoyed, I found my robe, then went to open the door.

Our bodyguard nodded my way, "Sorry to interrupt, sir."

"No worries. Andre, right?"

"Yes, sir," he said, holding out his phone. "I have a call for you. It's Bill, from London."

Jake. Whatever it is, I can call him later.

"Tell him we're unavailable." I started closing the door.

Andre put a hand on it. "He says it's important."

I rolled my eyes a little, taking the device from him.

"Yes?"

"Mike, hey." it was Jake. Of course it's Jake, why am I not surprised?

"What do you need?" I asked flatly.

"I wanna to talk to Angie. Please, man. I gotta know she's okay."

"Of course she's okay. Why would I lie to you?"

"I never implied you would, but-"

I cut him off, "Exactly. She's doing just fine. Stop worrying and focus on yourself, get better."

"Why are you like this, Mike?"

"Excuse me?"

"The Mike I knew never spoke to his friends, to his family like that." he said.

"Well, my friends don't usually kiss my wife, right?" I snapped. "And like you said, I'm not your family. So stop calling me."

Angrily, I flipped the phone shut and handed it back to Andre.

"If Bill calls again, we're not here." I told him.

"Understood, sir." he closed the door behind him.

When I got back to Angela, she was still naked, waiting impatiently.

"Finally. Get in, now." she ordered calmly.

The second I was inside the hot tub, she straddled me, her body pressed firmly against mine.

As she kissed me, all I could think about was my conversation with Jake.

Am I being too harsh on him?

"Mike?" Angela called. "You do realize I'm naked, right? About to ride you? What's on your mind?"

"Jake was on the phone." I said.

Her hands dropped from my face. "Oh. Was it important?"

"No."

"What did he want?"

"To talk. But I told him we're busy. You think I'm being too hard on him?"

Her eyes read my expression. She would know exactly what to say.

"It doesn't matter what I think. You're the one hurt, Mike. Your feelings matter, too. If you don't want to talk to him, that's okay." my wife smiled sympathetically.

I looked down and nodded.

She cupped my face again, making me look at her.

"Now," she placed a gentle kiss on my lips. "Forget him, because if you don't make me cum soon, I might have to do it myself, and I really rather you do it..."

Taking my hand, Angela placed it on her boob, and moved to take me inside her, riding in a steady rhythm again.

~

We had another scheduled massage session, and Angela got a facial as well.

She looked so relaxed, which is exactly what I hoped for.

I was reading some contracts as she was being worked on. Glancing at her once in a while, I noticed she was falling asleep.

My phone suddenly buzzed on the side table next to me. Looking at it, it was Grace.

"Daddy!" AJ's voice screeched in my ear.

"Hi, baby girl," the smile automatically appeared at the sound of her voice. "What're you up to?"

"We swim!"

"Yeah? You having fun?"

"Yes. Mommy?" my daughter asked.

"Mommy's asleep, AJ." I answered.

"AJ, give me the phone!" Paris told her sister. "Hey, daddy! So, is mom relaxed? Is she enjoying it?"

"Oh, she is definitely enjoying it." I nodded at my wife, who was now looking tiredly at me.

She returned a grin, "The kids?"

Angela sat up, dismissing the hotel worker, and thanked her.

I put the phone on speaker, and she talked to Paris for a while.

Since it was already late, I decided to order us some dinner.

I took a seat on our messy bed, picking up the hotel phone.

"Hello, Mr. Jackson. How may I help you?" the receptionist said sweetly.

"Uh, yeah, I'd like to order food service..." I turned to Angela's side to grab the menu that was on her nightstand.

"Of course. What would you like?"

But there was a piece of paper there, with a pen attached. It caught my eye immediately because on the top, in all caps, was one word.

'WILL'.

She wrote down in bullet points each of the kids' names, along with mine, her parents', and Luciano's.

I didn't even notice the tear that rolled down my cheek, mind going somewhat blank.

"Sir? Are you there?" the lady asked.

"Y- yeah, sorry. What's on the menu for dinner tonight?" I composed myself.

She kept talking, but I zoned out, going over what my wife wrote. It was full of question marks and crossed out words, as if she wasn't sure what to actually leave for us.

I did see that she wanted to leave her wedding rings for Lily and Eric, and the beach house to me.

But seeing it all written down like that struck a nerve. It made it all so real.

The receptionist cleared her throat. "Would you like to order the dinner menu, sir?"

"Yes, please." I hung up.

I reread Angela's notes, then noticed a tear stain them.

"Mike, I'm hopping in the shower, you wanna join me?" her voice got closer.

She walked into the bedroom, so I hurried to put the piece of paper where I found it and straightened up.

"You go ahead, babe. I have some things to finish up." I said.

My wife came over to me, placing a long kiss on my lips. "You sure? I'd love for you to come in with me..."

"Yeah, I'm sure. Go, be ready for when the food comes."

"Okay." she frowned a little.

Once she was inside the bathroom and turned the water on, I went back to reading everything she wrote.

~

Angela emerged from the bathroom, her hair wet as she brushed it.

The entire time she was in the shower, I went over her notes again and again.

I just couldn't wrap my head around it. Why would she write it now? She has so much time...

Luckily for me, she didn't notice when I hid it behind my back.

She picked out some panties from her suitcase before putting on her silk robe.

"Actually," she put the panties back. "I might not need these..."

Coming to my side of the bed, her fingers opened the knot of her robe.

She didn't hesitate to crawl over, kneeling right in front of me.

"Angie, you just took a shower," I looked up at the ceiling when she started kissing my neck. "And the food is gonna come soon."

Really, I just didn't want her to find out about the paper behind me.

"But Michaeeeel, I need you. And, it's our last night..." my wife whined, tugging at my pants.

"I'm not in the mood, Ange."

Pulling away from my neck, her nose was scrunched. "Since when? Seriously, what is up with you today?"

Before I could answer, a knock on the door was heard, and I silently let out a relieved sigh.

"You wanna get that?" I asked her.

"Do I have a choice?" she rolled her eyes while wearing her panties, then tied her robe. Another loud knock made her groan. "Just a second, please!"

As soon as she left, I pulled the paper from behind my back.

"Shit." I cursed when I saw how crumpled up it got.

Quickly, I attempted straightening it and put it back on her nightstand.

"Mike, why did you order so much food? You know I can't eat all of this! You can barely eat half of it!" Angela yelled.

Going to the living room, she was standing behind the cart full of food, hands on her hips.

"Did you order everything on the menu? This is too much."

"Just the dinner menu, I think... I don't know, I got distracted."

"From what?"

"Doesn't matter," I looked away. "Let's eat."

~

Angela: Michael leaned back when he finished eating.

We still had a whole bunch of food left, but since he wasn't a big eater to begin with, and neither was I these days, there was no way we could even begin to finish it all.

"So..." I trailed off after he cleared the table and gulped the rest of his wine. "Now that we're done with dinner, can we go to bed?"

I opened my robe, slightly letting it fall off my shoulders.

"I, uh, need to take a shower." he avoided my eyes, like he did all throughout dinner.

Wow, he really is not in the mood. I wonder what is up with him.

Being me, I was determined to get my way because he was not acting like his normal self.

Before he could turn to leave, I grabbed his hands, wrapping them around myself.

"Angie, I really gotta shower..." my husband still didn't look at me.

"I can come in with you," I moved even closer so our bodies touched. Standing on my toes, I put my lips to his ear. "And maybe, I can go down on my knees, and put my mouth all around you..."

I kept talking, describing what I would do to him, while slowly taking off the robe completely.

Michael let out a grunt, and it seemed like he might give in. But unfortunately, he shook his head, then let me go.

He hurried to disappear into the bathroom and locked the door behind him.

I stood there, naked and confused about what just happened.

~

"I just don't know what's gotten into him, Lisa Marie," I ranted to my friend over the phone. "He just completely ignored me. I was naked, and he didn't even look at me."

I took a seat on one of the chairs in the balcony to cool off as Michael showered.

Was I mad? No, just completely puzzled with his sudden attitude.

"You were naked?" Lisa Marie said, her tone surprised. "And he didn't budge?"

"Not even a bit. I don't get it."

"Maybe it's finally getting to him, you know, your diagnosis..."

"But he was fine this morning." I sighed, watching the sun set behind the mountains.

My friend paused for a second. "Talk to him, Angela. I'm sure he'll tell you what's bothering him. So, how's Switzerland?"

"Beautiful. I kinda wish we could stay here a little longer," I said, regretting my decision to go outside when some wind started blowing. It was cold. "How are the girls?"

After sliding the balcony door closed, I made my way to the bedroom so I could get all snuggled up in bed.

Lisa Marie talked about how amazed she was by her twin girls, how fast they were growing.

I laughed at a story she told of something funny they did the other day.

Gosh, I can't wait to go back home to California and see everyone again.

Taking off my rings to put on some hand cream, I placed them on my nightstand.

That's when I noticed the piece of paper I've been writing lately.

The other night, when Michael cried endlessly about my possible death, it scared me.

It made me realize I needed to get my assets in check, because I've never actually written any sort of will.

So whenever I had some time alone, I would write down ideas.

The paper was a bit wrinkled in some places and a couple of my notes were smudged.

What happened to it?

"Lisa Marie, I'm gonna have to get back to you..." I murmured into my phone.

"Yeah, of course. And hey, don't overthink it, I'm sure Mike will come through. Call me soon." Lisa Marie hung up.

I examined the paper again and wondered what might've happened to it.

The bathroom door opened. Michael came out with a towel wrapped around his waist.

Then it hit me. Is that why he's acting all weird?

"Mike, did you touch this?" I crossed my arms, a little annoyed he went through my things.

He looked down. "Uh..."

"You weren't supposed to see it. Not yet, at least."

"Why now, Ange? You have time to write it."

Those big brown eyes of his were full of sadness.

"I was just brainstorming, Michael. Might as well start," I told him. "And anyways, you have a will. Jake had one, too. I need to be ready."

"Jake and I are different. You don't need a will." the tears threatened to spill now.

"Why not?"

"Because it'll make it too real."

Aw, so that's why he's like this...

I hurried to get up to hug him.

My husband wiped his tears and shook his head, "Don't. I'm okay."

"We talked about this, Mike... We have to think about the possibility that I might not be here-" I started, but he cut me off.

"We're not talking about that anymore. We are supposed to be on vacation."

Turning away from me, he looked for clothes to wear.

He left the bedroom after putting them on, without saying another word.

I understand why he's upset, but we have to be realistic about this.

Quickly, I went after him. Michael was at the mini bar and poured himself a glass of whisky.

With one smooth sip, he downed it, pouring another glassful.

"I'm done talking about this tonight, Angela." he said sternly, as if he knew what I about to say.

I took a step closer. "Mike, I get it, I do. Still, we need to be prepared."

He ignored me completely and kept chugging the whisky. That does it.

"Would you stop drinking and listen to me for a second?! Ignoring our problems isn't going to fix them, Michael!"

My husband stared at me, shocked by my sudden outburst.

But he shook it off, then took a few more tiny bottles with him to the balcony.

With a loud scoff, he shut the door behind him, once again leaving me alone and baffled.
