"My head is killing me,"
Oba groaned and tugged my arm.

"Oba, we leave in twenty minutes. Please, dress up."
Esosa said to her.

Oba groaned and reached for her uniform and putting it on grudgingly.

The uniform, a white t shirt, a midnight blue pleated skirt, a black and blue tie and a black blazer to top it off.

Mum got me black boots and flats to match my school uniform for Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

"Blue is my absolute love language."
Debra said to me, smiling brightly.
"That's why I want to steal your sweat shirt."

"I don't love you, then.
That's the shirt Audrey gave me and you know Kings wanted it first."
I explained.

Dramatically, she groaned, turning around in anger.

"Edwin amy James-Ohaneze!
This is a matter of love or lies!"
She shouted.

"Shut up, Debra!  My entire family is asleep."
I scolded.

She laughed a loud, breathy, wild, laugh.

"So you were watching YouTube, right?"
I asked her.

She chuckled, using her hand to cover her mouth.

"You know your Baby girl wants to do YouTube."

"Let's go, Ed."
Nneka said to me.

~

The walk to school was long.

The distance between the hostels and the school block is so discouraging to walk to.
And plus, the SS3 classes have their own block.

"This is why I didn't want to come to SS3,"
Oba groaned.

"Did I not tell you to repeat?"
Brielle asked her.

Oba eyed her in response.

"Our school has many clubs."
Nneka stated, turning to me.

"Even in SS3?"
I asked.

Nneka nodded.
"What club are you planning on joining?
There's the academic based and the non academic based and the talent based."
Brielle explained.
"Oba is in the Press club, for the academic based.
I and Nneka are in the literary and debating clubs.
Esosa and Beauty are in the jets club."

I sighed.
The sky was getting brighter and the birds were chirping.

There was so much noise coming from around us.

"I'll rather do press."
I replied softly.

Oba squealed and clapped her hands together in pleasure.
"Good choice!"
She said to me.

I noticed that Beauty was with two other girls whom Oba had previously told me were Lizzy and Purity.
They were laughing and shouting at intervals.

I hadn't seen Wendy since Mum dropped us off yesterday and I made a mental note to look for her.

~

As soon as I got to the SS3 block, which was filled with a lot of noisy animals, Oba and Brielle began helping me to look for my class.

The SS3 class was divided into six classes.

I was in Oba's class,
Art Class 1.

I noticed that there was a particular seat arrangement in the classroom.
The arrangement was, one boy, one girl to two tables and chairs.

Oba was put at the front seat with a boy named Adeyemi, while I was put at the back with someone named Rodney.

I noticed that almost everyone in this class loved Oba, and she attracted attention wherever she went.

I could not blane them.
Oba's helpful nature and graceful joy was so good welcoming.

Moments later, my seat mate,
Rodney Cooker, a boy with milky skin and a happy face,
walked into the class, causing various screams to escape the mouths of my new classmates.

Rodney is now finer, oh!

Opor! Hot boy!

Look at that skin! It's even more milky than before is that even legal?

E be like say Rodney don grow again!

Rodney we love you!

Hot keed!

Let the ugly, breattthhee!

Needless to say, it was obvious he was a bad boy and almost everyone had a crush on him.
Even the boys.

RODNEY COOKER, COME OVER HERE THIS MINUTE.

That last one was from Oba.
Rodney looked genuinely scared as his eyes reached her burning ones.

Okay, no cap, she looked really scary.

Oba marched down to my seat at the back, standing beside me with folded arms.

"Sorry guys! I need to talk to him now,"
Oba commanded and they all turned and faced their various businesses.

"Oba Mama! Wassup naw,"
Rodney greeted.

Oba glared at him and even I got scared on his behalf.

"It'll soon be your head that'll up on that ceiling."
She threatened.

Rodney gave me a scared look and muttered
' Help me '.

I chuckled a bit.

"Oba, are you angry with him?"
I asked.

She turned to me a bright smile on her face.
"Don't mind us. Rodney is my cousin, Rodney, my new friend, Edwin,"
She introduced.

Rodney sat down and I noticed the smell of his perfume.

It smelt like pineapple.

" Gimme Pineapples!
The fruit, the clothes, the perfume, everything!"
Debra screamed.

"It's 5 am in the morning, Debra!"
I groaned covering my ears.

"My house, my rules!
If you want peace and quiet, go home!"

"You know you don't want that."
I responded smugly.

"I wanted to finish by saying, then I'll follow you home and disturb your peace and quiet!"
She completed.

"Amy, I love pineapples.
Wake up!"
She screamed again.

"You're misbehaving cause your house is sound proof, yeah? Nice one, Darasimi."
I said to her.

"I just fell in love with pineapples. My newest obsession!"
Debra said in a song form.

~

"Edwin!"

I snapped back into reality and smiled at a smiling Rodney.

"Hey..... you've been calling me?"
I asked.

"Yes. I have."
He responded.
"Your mind travels?"
He asked.

"All the damn time.
My brain is really working over time, I try to warn it."
I said to him, smiling a bit.

Rodney laughed, perfect teeth showing.

"So, what school are you coming from?"
He asked.

"Agatha High."
I responded.

"From that curt response, I can tell you don't really want to talk about it?"
He asked.

I smiled. Nodding in response and reaching for a novel in my bag.

He nodded in response.
"I hope we will be good friends."
He said to me.

"We have to. You don't want your head in the ceiling now, do we?"
I asked and he laughed.

"I think you're quite funny,"
He said to me.

"I think I am too."
