You both ended up sleeping for a little longer than you intended to. The noise of the kids playing around woke you up. You removed Jungkook's hand lying over your stomach and sat up. He got out of his daze too with the sudden movement.
"Such a good nap..." He said as he sat up with his eyes still not fully open. You passed him a glass of water to fully wake him up.
"I think I just got my period... shit" you say as you realise the sticky dampness on your crotch and stood up from your place on his bed.
"There's a stain" Jungkook whispered when you turned around to find a dark dry stain on your grey joggers.
"I'll go change... thank god there's nothing on the bedsheet" you said as you quickly made your way out of his room to yours.
When you go out of your room you find Ria and Yejun eating sandwiches while watching a cartoon. You observe for a couple of minutes to check it isn't too violent or moves very rapidly.
"You want matcha? I'm making matcha" Jungkook asks breaking your focus from the television and you answer with a okay.
He brings over two glasses and gives you one sitting beside you on the couch.
"I was thinking if we could go out for dinner tonight. If you're comfortable?"
"Yeah I'm fine... let's go"
"Daddy.. Aunty.. we wanna show you something" Yejun says as they both hold hands and walk to the wall and you both follow them curiously.
"Look what we made" they say pointing to a drawing pasted on the wall.
"We made a new family picture" Ria says as you see two drawings pasted in front of each other. One shows a family of four with their names written Dahyun, Jungkook, Yejun and Ria and the other one instead of Dahyun has your name and a new picture which looks more like you.
"That's really sweet guys. Thank you so much. I love you both" You say bending down in front of them and hugging them close to your chest.
"I love you too" Yejun said but Ria didn't say it back to you. You kissed their cheeks and pulled them a little when they tried to free themselves of your hold.
"Okay now go and get dressed. We'll be going out for dinner" He said as they quickly ran away to their rooms and he giggled watching their excitement. You had to go out early since they had to be in bed by nine as it was a school day the next day.
"They do love eating" Jungkook says as he goes inside to check they didn't pick out a weird set of clothes.
You wanted to get dressed up too so you walked inside to your room. You knew it was like a semi date. As you shuffled through your jewellery box you found the silver bracelet that Jungkook had given you all those years ago. With a smile you wrapped it around your wrist. You had never thought you would wear it again but you just didn't had the guts to throw a precious expensive thing like that away.
You wore your white cardigan over a crop top along with your black flowy skirt and paired with boots you felt it was just right.
"Can I come in?" You hear Ria's soft voice from outside the door while you're checking yourself in the mirror.
"Sure honey" you said as she walked inside slowly.
"You look pretty" she told you standing in front of you.
"You too" you told her with a smile as she stood in front of you while you were sitting on the stool. You looked at the image of you two in the mirror, not even a single matching trait with her and yet someday you could be called her mother.
"Can you do my hair? Daddy is busy." She says giving you her comb.
"Sure" you say as you gently comb her short hair making sure not to pull. And then you put on the two bow clips on both sides of the hair parting.
"Perfect" you said as she looked in the mirror but then at your makeup. She was wearing a maroon sweatshirt and black jeans and you knew Jungkook would make her wear a jacket upon it when you go outside, he was too protective of them during the cold season.
"You wanna put on some lip gloss?" You asked her and she nodded in yes.
"Mom never used to let me put makeup on"
"That's because you're a kid. It's fine to put a little bit occasionally."
"Aunty are you going to have a baby?"
The sudden question shocked you. What could have possibly led the child to think that?
"What... what made you think of that?" You ask her absolutely baffled.
"You were touching your tummy like mom used to when she had Yejun inside her tummy"
"It was only because I had a tummy ache. Aunty can't have babies sweetie... sorry" you tell her with your lips pursed.
"Oh" she said lightly.
"You never have to worry about that"
"Okay" she says sweetly and then went outside the room and you followed behind her switching off the lights.
The restaurant turned out to be an outdoor one with children playing around in the open area while parents were eating. The garden had some swings and slides so you could rest assured of your private time while the children could play and only join you while eating.
"Should we have some red wine?" You ask Jungkook.
"Ahh.. you can drink. I have to drive" He says with a little bit of disappointment hinted in his voice.
"Or we could just get a virgin mojito" you say as the waiter passes by you and you place the order. The children could have pizza while you both got something else.
"Yejun you gotta finish what's on your plate. I'm not gonna give you biscuits at night after going back home." Jungkook said watching them as they ate.
"I wanted brownie"
"No sugar before bed. We'll have brownie another day." He tries to get him to eat the pizza.
"You want some of this?" You ask when he refuses to eat offering him food from your plate. The idea of having a new dish intrigued him and he ate a few bites.
"Can I have salad?" He asked.
"It has some nuts baby remember you're allergic" Jungkook says moving his hand away from the bowl of salad.
"I want tomato" he said.
"Okay I'll get you another salad" Jungkook said putting the pizza slices on his own plate.
"Dahyun turned this one into herself he never eats junk" He said looking over at you as you wiped Yejun's face with the tissue. He waited for his salad to arrive impatiently.
"It's a good thing" you smile at him.
When you finally get to the car after everyone has eaten whatever they wanted to, the kids were tired. Yejun grew irritable as Jungkook carried him in his arms and you opened the car door for him to put him in his car seat and Ria sat inside from the other side.
You both sat in silence as the kids dozed off in the backseat. Yejun made a grumpy face before he fell asleep he wasn't very pleased with the idea of eating out. While Ria remained silent most of the time, maybe the four of you having dinner together brought the idea of you being a family into more of a reality to her. She might have missed how they used to go out as a family when Dahyun was there.
Jungkook glanced back before focusing in the road in front of him again.
"Yejun's asleep too?" He asked unable to see him clearly as the light was off.
"Yes" you muttered in a low voice to not disturb them.
"I don't understand why he was being so fussy..." He said as he made a turn.
"He eats well most of the time. It was the first time I saw him being like this"
"I know he's still little gets tired and irritable but..."
"You know what I think..."
"What?"
"I think its too fast for them. A family dinner was a bit too much for them maybe. They still miss their mother. We can do anything personally Jungkook we're grown ups but we need to go slow paced with the kids. They're dealing with a great loss. We can't suddenly throw these things at them."
"They're my children. Trust me I know them... I know what they feel..." He said as he stops the car in front of the apartment building. You don't get outside, lost in your thoughts.
"Could you hold one?" He asked peeking in from the window and pointing at the sleeping kids at the back.
He picked up Ria in his arms and you held Yejun as you both walked inside the apartment building.
