"How did you know Zhao Liang was Xu Xin?"
Shu Yin stared at the Old Bandit in the eye.
His curiosity got over him so he sneaked inside his room and caught the Old Bandit and Old Bai being lovey dovey which almost put a bullet in his head if not for Old Bandit stopping the furiously fuming and blushing Old Bai.
"You brat! If you only wanted to ask such questions, why can't you wait until tomorrow to do it?!"
Old Bai fumed while picking up his clothes to put back on.
"I'm sorry to break into your room while you were trying to get it on but I'm here to get my answers, old man."
Shu Yin did not give Old Bai some face and without shame said what Old Bai did not want to hear from his mouth.
"This brat! Ugh! Ah!"
"Cough!"
Old Bai wanted to beat Shu Yin for stating the fact, but he knew he was no match for this Zombie and could only calm his breathing and hit Old Bandit in embarrassment.
Seeing the two old men who seemed to have lived a good life together, Shu Yin can't help but smile.
"Enough of that. Tell me, what do you know about Zhao Liang? What happened to Xu Xin?"
The Old Bandit raised an eyebrow, he smiled mysteriously.
"I understand that you want to get your answers brat but even I only know little about this because this is my friend's secret which I have discovered by chance." Old Bandit sighed.
"What do you mean old man?"
Shu Yin sat opposite him.
The Old Bandit looked Shu Yin in the eye. He stared at him for a minute, closing his eyes he looked at Shu Yin with newfound fire lit in his eyes.
"Your name is Xin Ye, correct?" Old Bai started.
Shu Yin scrunches his eyebrows not knowing why this old man is asking him that.
"Yes. Before I named myself Shu Yin, my previous name was Xin Ye. Why do you ask old man?"
Old Bandit nodded his head in understanding and sighed.
"Destiny still can't be changed." Old Bandit sighed again.
"What do you mean? What destiny are you talking about?"
The Old Bandit looks at Shu Yin with his old wizened eyes.
"Since you are their child, I guess you also have the right to know your parents' history."
Shu Yin could not understand what the Old Bandit wanted to convey to him, but he wanted to know just what was going on.
What are Xin Ye's parents?
What history?
What destiny is he talking about?
Seeing that Shu Yin was not interrupting him, the Old Bandit started his story.
"It is still clear to me on that day, it was raining, and thunder kept on striking one place as if trying to hit someone when your parents came to me together with a little bundle and a teenage man who looked like he was dead."
"This teenager, are you talking about Zhao Liang? Xu Xin?"
The Old Bandit smiled hearing this question but did not answer.
"That night was the darkest of night that I have ever seen in my life, not even the moon was out and the whole country had no light and I can only rely on my eyes. Your father knocked on my doorstep with you and your mother with him along with a teenager."
Shu Yin wanted to ask him some questions but seeing that he did not answer him previously he kept his mouth shut.
"Even without asking your parents at that time, I knew that they had gone to some tomb seeing that their shoes had some red mud on them. I did not ask where they had been but just carried you in my arms to tuck you to sleep as I left them to take care of the boy, they brought home."
"What happened then?"
The old bandit's smile turned grim.
"I overheard them say, "The end is near. This is all because of us. We have failed our duty as the lord's servants."
Shu Yin looked at the old Bandit confused.
"What do they mean? Did they predict what would happen in the future? All of this happening? What servant? What do they mean? I don't understand."
"Neither I, at that time did not understand what was happening. Not until, your father came to me one day and that was the last day I met him. I just heard about the news that they died a few days later."
"Uncle said, they died in an accident..."
Shu Yin clenched his fist and bit his lip in confusion, his eyes were in a state of confusion when his eyes met the gaze of the Old Bandit who looked at him in pity.
"They... Did they not die due to an accident?"
Shu Yin looked at Old Bandit with eyes filled with complicated thoughts, gritting his mouth.
"Your parents did not die due to an accident but took their own lives to save many. But now, those sacrifice seems not worth it seeing this world as it is now but it bought humans time."
"Old Bandit, you're getting me confused the more you talk. Can you just tell me what happened directly? What happened to them and why did they need to take their own lives? How did you discover Zhao Liang's true identity? What is going on here?"
Shu Yin slaps the table.
The Old Bandit sips his tea not caring that Shu Yin has already lost his cool.
"Your parents, they were the servants of loyalty, descendants of the Generals that served the nameless King thousands of years ago."
"The nameless King? The one who was the king of the lost City?"
Old Bai nodded.
"Their task was to guard their King's tomb and never to let anyone disturb their King's slumber. In this way, the evils and the beings inside the tomb will be subdued and peace will reign in the tomb."
"So, you mean?"
Shu Yin seemed to have understood.
"Yes, your parents and Xu Xin were one of the guardians of the tomb. Their duty is to protect the Emperor's tomb and not let anyone disturb it or calamity shall befall the land which is what is happening right now."
Old Bandit sighed.
"What has happened now was due to the fact that someone has disturbed the tomb of the King and the Zombification virus was spread to the world. But seeing Xu Xin now, we will all be saved."
The Old Bandit amicably smiled at Shu Yin, relief in his eyes.
"What do you mean, old man?"
Seeing that look in his eyes, Shu Yin felt that something was wrong but he does not know why.
"Xu Xin is one of the guardians of the tomb that I know of, maybe the last one there is in this world."
Seeing his smile, Shu Yin glared at the old fox.
"Don't you dare you old fox!" Shu Yin lowly growled.
The Old Bandit raised his arms in surrender stating that he did not want to fight but Old Bai behind him took out a gun and pointed it in the direction of Shu Yin ready to shoot at him if he ever did something funny.
"Calm down. I do not mean any harm."
"Just the thought of trying to use A'Li is already a harm to me, unpardonable, a great crime!" Shu Yin bitingly said.
"I know that you care about him. I won't harm him. He is the last guardian of the tomb, harming him is like harming myself. I just wanted to say that he is our last chance to survive."
Old Bandit tried to explain some senses to Shu Yin.
"No."
Shu Yin turned to leave.
Seeing him leaving, Old Bandit could not help but grab him by the hand.
"He is our last hope to save humanity. Only he can open the great tomb of the nameless emperor. We need him to find the antidote for this virus within the tomb to save humanity!"
Shu Yin turned around and growled at Old Bandit bearing his fangs, the old man was surprised and immediately let go of Shu Yin who looked as if he was about to bite him.
He almost forgot that Shu Yin was a Zombie.
"Old man, can't you understand human language? I won't let anyone use A'Li and let anyone bring harm to him, even if it's for the sake of the world we are talking about."
Shu Yin slowly steps forward, his eyes glowing redder in the dark-lit room, his face covered in darkness with only his glowing eyes shining under the shadow of the night.
"Even if this world ends or burns, I do not care. What would this world mean if I lost A'Li? Nothing!"
"If you please just listen to me--Ah!"
Old Bandit froze seeing Shu Yin flash in front of him in a second, his rotting face too close for comfort to his face.
"When I say no, it means NO!"
Shu Yin growled.
Bang!
"Stop!"
Bang! Bang!
"Boss!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
"Kill that monster!"
Shu Yin quickly dodges the bullet that was fired at him, it was good that he quickly noticed the change in the atmosphere and dodges on time, or else he would have become a beehive.
His bloodshot eyes looked around.
All of the Old Bandits people surrounded him with their guns pointed at him threatening that if he were to make a move, they would shoot a bullet right to his skull.
"Stop. Don't shoot him!"
Zhao Liang quickly came running in and stood in front of Shu Yin to cover him.
"What are you doing here?"
Shu Yin grabbed Zhao Liang back forcefully but the man stood in front of him unmoving as if he had taken root on the spot.
Zhao Liang glared at him.
"I came here to see what took you so long to come back and have been listening behind the door long ago. What were you thinking attacking him?" Zhao Liang scolded.
Shu Yin looks at Zhao Liang in the eyes silently.
Shu Yin leaned his face on the back of Zhao Liang's neck and wrapped his arms around him, his bloody red eyes glaring at the people in the room and then focused his gaze on the old bandit who looked calm.
Shu Yin then bit the back of his neck as if he was trying to vent his anger.
But he was doing it gently not wanting to hurt Zhao Liang but just trying to take a bite like a kitten grazing its teeth.
Zhao Liang shivered.
Feeling Shu Yin's teeth gently nipping his skin again and again, his face flushed, and wanted to hit him in the head for doing this kind of act in front of everyone and in a very serious situation.
"He wanted to use you. How could I remain calm in such a situation when it's you we are talking about?"
Shu Yin glared at the people around him while leaking his murderous intent at them.
Seeing the monster hugging Zhao Liang, everyone could feel their back drenched in cold sweat as they looked at the Old Bandit waiting for his instruction.
Feeling the stare looking at his back, Zhao Liang looked down on Shu Yin who was smiling at him innocently.
'Odd.' Zhao Liang thought and looked back in front again and felt the stare again.
Zha Liang pat Shu Yin's hand.
"Old man, I apologize for what happened but I won't apologize for A'Yin's actions. He just wanted to protect me."
Zhao Liang smiled at Shu Yin feeling his hand tighten around him.
"I understand your stand and I agree."
"What? You agree?"
Shu Yin felt like he had eaten a fly and quickly turned Zhao Liang to face him.
"A'Li, you can't possibly agree to this. You will put your life in danger! If something happens to you, what will I do?"
Shu Yin disagreed with what Zhao Liang said, looked at Old Bandit, and hissed at him wanting to tear him to pieces.
"A'Yin."
Zhao Liang helplessly held Shu Yin's face to make him look at him.
Shu Yin quickly changes his face as fast as turning pages which makes the others who he threatened want to hit him.
Shu Yin looks at Zhao Liang with big moe eyes acting very innocent and fragile.
"A'Li, don't go. I will be sad to see you get hurt. Can't we just live like this?"
Zhao Liang smiled.
"A'Yin, I know that you want the best for me. But I also want us to live in a peaceful world together with everyone, I want everyone to live in a world that is peaceful without the need to fear for their lives every day."
Zhao Liang put his hand on Shu Yin's face caressing his cheeks gently, his eyes filled with love.
"If it takes for me to go there in person, I will do it. I'm sure that they will protect me on the way since they need my help."
Hearing what Zhao Liang said, Old Bandit quickly agrees with him.
Shu Yin turned his face at him and roared at him bearing his fangs angrily, his face ugly.
"Shut up you old rotting piece of human skin scum before I rip your tongue out of your mouth and rip your limbs from your body piece by piece!"
Then, Shu Yin turned his face back at Zhao Liang, his ugly expression became the same as of that fragile maiden in love about to cry.
"B-But... A'Li..."
Seeing this shamelessness and ugliness, the people around them wanted to rinse their eyes with acid.
They can't take this anymore!
But Zhao Liang who saw this scene can't help but laugh.
Taking the loosened bandages hanging loosely on Shu Yin's face showing his somewhat rotting skin, Zhao Liang kindly helped him wrap the bandage on his face again knowing just how conscious Shu Yin was of his appearance.
"You would come with me, right? Knowing I'm with you, I feel safe. You would always protect me, right A'Yin?"
Zhao Liang grinned.
Shu Yin who saw his smile flushed red both in love and embarrassment letting Zhao Liang see his rotten face and even helping him bandage it back up.
He wanted to cry so he hugged Zhao Liang and cried his heart out.
But in front of others, the crying Shu Yin had no tears and was looking at them with his scary eyes as if they were dead meat.
He even mimics the action of slitting one's throat for them.
"You're all dead meat."
