Chen Qiao looks at the boy with wide open eyes standing behind Zhao Liang who was looking at him with that same familiar gaze.
His fist stayed raised in the air blocked by the boy's hand, Chen Qiao stayed frozen like that while he lock eyes with Shu Yin.
He knew this person but at the same time it seems that he never knew him at all.
The way Shu Yin looks at him merge with the way Xiao Yao looks at him in his mind.
That arrogant and somewhat overbearing look he always had mixed in with a somehow disappointed and helpless gaze while looking at him.
Chen Qiao's whole body shook thinking about the impossible.
'Impossible...'
"Impossible. You can't be him."
Chen Qiao snatch his hand back and looked at Shu Yin who was still standing from behind Zhao Liang with astonished disbelieving look, his tears gathered in his eyes, he stop them from falling.
"You can't be him. Impossible! Even if Xu Xin is alive, you can't be alive!"
He shook his head again and again trying to erase such thought but yet can't stop hoping.
"I watch you being buried. I was there when you died and you never opened your eyes.... You were dead. Your dead. Ah!"
Chen Qiao loudly cried out in anguish.
He hatefully glared at Zhao Liang most of all Shu Yin who was looking at him with pity in his eyes.
Everyone looks at him pitifully.
"Old Qiao, what are you saying? That's impossible. He can't possibly be that brat! He is dead. Xiao Yao is dead!" Leng MianMian also can't help but say gritting her teeth.
Among what happened back then, Xiao Yao's death brought s big despondency over their lives back then. Not only Chen Qiao but also to them.
Even Leng MianMIan was no exception eve though they were really not on good terms but along the chaotic bickering days, they still developed a love hate relationship and were somehow frenemies.
Seeing Chen Qiao break down over someone who look like Xiao Yao put Leng MIanMian on a hard spot between the past and present.
"Old Qiao, forget about the past. No matter what we do, that brat Xiao Yao can no longer be brought back from the dead." Leng MianMian tearfully said.
"I-I know." Chen Qiao said.
"........" Shu Yin who lost the chance of saying his other identity could really not bear to say who he was feeling that he might make things even more awkward than it was.
"Ah.. What's happening?"
Old Bai who had finally come to looked around him and saw that everyone was silently looking at him.
"Ah! Zombies!!" Old Bai yelled and quickly scampered away towards the old man.
"Hey! Who said you can go?!"
He Ming yelled after Old Bai but Xiao Yao stop him.
"Let him be."
"Ow." He Ming grumbled and was then pulled into another hug by Xiao Chun.
"What's happening? Why are there Zombies speaking?!" Old Bai said loudly.
Everyone once again look at him as if he was some rare creature talking which made Old Bai feel that he had missed something.
"Its nothing, Old Bai. They are "friends" of an old friend. They should mean no harm to us..."
The old man look at Zhao Liang who looked back at him with confidence in his eyes.
He sighed.
"The night is getting deeper. We should head back to our place, we have stayed outside far too long."
The old man then turned back and walk away together with Old Bai who was still confused.
Everyone look at each other and put away their weapons and went running after the old man and Old Bai not wanting to get behind while looking back once in a while.
Shu Yin, Zhao Liang and the rest look at Chen Qiao who was still not moving from where he was at.
Leng MianMian who saw this went to help him up.
Shu Yin, despite feeling a bit guilty, walk past them along with his group.
"You are not him."
Shu Yin heard Chen Qiao say when he passes by him.
Shu Yin did not say anything and left that place with heated eyes boring holes in his back.
He had somewhere to be now than to face that feeling sad Chen Qiao. He needed to go to that Old Bandit and interrogate him how he knew that Zhao Liang is Xu Xin.
And is Zhao Liang really Xu Xin!
"A'Yin, where are you going?"
Zhao Liang held Shu Yin's sleeves stopping him from leaving.
The party was finally back to their place to take a rest.
Despite what had happened earlier, they were still able to come back though the others were still wary of them knowing their real identity.
Shu Yin took Zhao Liang's hand on his.
"I'm going to Old Bandit, I need to ask him a few questions." Shu Yin honestly answered.
"Are you going to ask him about me?"
Zhao Liang held Shu Yin's hand tightly. He could not sit tight after knowing that Shu Yin wanted to know about his past.
A past that he does not know and maybe a past that he does not want to know.
Hearing what Chen Qiao said earlier about some Xiao Yao, his heart jump out of curiosity and fear that maybe his past held so much to him and that uncovering it may have dire consequences.
Zhao Liang look at Shu Yin, his eyes trying to convey something he seems to not be able to convey in words alone.
Seeing him look so unsettled and guilty, Shu Yin kiss him on the lips to comfort him.
"No matter what happened in the past, its all in the past. Us humans needs to only move forward and enjoy the present."
Shu Yin then took the hand off that was holding him.
"A'Yin...." Zhao Liang trailed off.
Shu Yin smiled dotingly.
"Don't worry. I just want to ask the Old Bandit how he knew of you being Xu Xin. And no matter what he says afterwards about us, nothing would change. You believe me, right?"
"I believe in you." Zhao Liang said in a deflating confident voice.
"I know you are worried but you don't have to worry at all." Shu Yin reassured.
"Can I come with you instead? I also want to know about me." Zhao Liang offered.
Shu Yin sighed.
"I know you also want to know who you used to be. Don't worry, I'll tell you tomorrow about what I'll find. Its almost dawn and today had been chaotic. You need to rest and no buts."
Shu Yin then tucked Zhao Liang in not letting have a time to think of a respond.
"Good night."
Shu Yin kissed him and stood up to leave.
"A'Yin."
Zhao Liang held Shu Yin's hand before he was able to leave him.
Shu Yin look back.
"I love you." Zhao Liang said in most sincerity.
Staring back at those clear eyes filled with love and sincerity, his image the only thing in them, Shu Yin felt that he was luck to be love by such being.
"I love you too, A'Li. Then, now, and forever, I will love only you."
