(Back to Allie’s POV :D)

After two days of nothing but annoying, unnecessary observation, I was allowed to come home, but that wasn’t much better because they had me stuck in a wheel chair for two and a half months. The worse part was that Caleb’s birthday party was supposed to be tomorrow, and homecoming was the next day. How the hell was I supposed to get around like this?

As we drove home, we passed my car. Looking at the damage of the car, and the police cars surrounding it checking for any finger prints of Gina’s to prove she had actually used a hammer to break my ribs, you would think that I hadn’t gotten out alive. Tomorrow wouldn’t be fun for school, they’d all think I was some sort of sissy, and Jake would be the hero. Which was true, but I couldn’t move or else I would’ve thrown her right down the little cliff that hung over that rushing river with all of those pointy rocks.

Entering the apartment, I gasp in surprise. The whole living room and kitchen area was full of decorations, flowers, and little cards all over. “What’s this?” I ask, opening one of the cards only to find that it contained over twenty dollars.

“Everyone at school sort of heard about the accident, and they all know about the whole prostitute thing now and they felt sort of bad.” Jake shrugs and smiles, kissing my cheek, but I cant smile or laugh, or feel any sort of emotion. How could I go back to school now? Going to run a hand through my hair, it’s almost impossible. Both my arms are broken and so are my ribs and my left leg and broken toe on my right foot. Doing anything was a difficult task, and I hadn’t realized how precious my moveable limbs had been before now.

“T-they know?” I ask, wheeling over to all the cards, “they cant know, they weren’t supposed to!” I shout, tears streaming down my cheeks. Instantly, Jake’s at my side, wiping my tears away.

“Baby, they don’t even care. Their all glad your okay.”

I wheel over to the window, looking out. “Still, now I’ll be the laughing stock just like I was in the fourth grade! I bet Kyle told too!” Now I was throwing pillows off the couch angrily with my teeth.

“You know, that’s actually kind of sexy.” Jake smirks, bringing his teeth to the current pillow I held in my mouth and taking it with his own, ripping it away from my mouth. “See, doesn’t that just turn you on?” He whispered in my ear, despite my mummified form. I was going to be laughed at for centuries.

“Kind of.” I say with a pouty expression, crossing my arms. Jake plops down on the couch carefully and then gets up, forgetting to wheel me over there with him with a sheepish smile. Once he wheels me to the couch, he lifts me carefully onto a cushion, making sure that I feel no pain. Surprisingly, the pain killers hadn’t worn off yet, and I still might’ve felt a little loopy. “Haha, wee!” I say, swinging my head around.

Jake’s chuckle is heard from the other side of the couch, and he’s twirling a strand of my hair in between his fingers. “I like loopy Allie. Almost as good as drunk Allie.” He whispers huskily, smashing his lips to my own in a sloppy way, not caring. The kiss was rough, but it felt right and love-filled. We grasp each other’s face, kissing full on.

When the door opens, Jake pulls apart faster than Road Runner, myself not too far behind. It was difficult with all the casts on me. Caleb and Kyle appear, Caleb running straight into my arms. “Oh!” I say, pain hitting all endings of my nerves. I try to hide it by gritting my teeth, but Jake notices.

“Hey, bud. You have to be more careful with Allie for a few weeks, alright? She’s a bit broken and you cant be squeezing her as hard.” Jake picks Caleb up off my lap and spins him around back to his room, making airplane noises. I just smile half-heartedly. Jake would make such a good dad one day.

Kyle appeared at the foot of the other end of the couch, and sat down we’re Jake had previously sat. “Hey,” He says quietly, not wanting to start anything.

“Hey, tutor.” I joke, giggling.

He just looks at me sympathetically. “Hey, broken. How you feeling?” He reaches his hand out slowly as if to touch one of my many casts and I follow his hand carefully with my eyes. I try not to wince as he touches the one located around my smashed ribs. “I hear their gonna send Gina to the Looney bin.” He laughs, but I just give him a flat look.

“Yeah, she definitely belongs there.” I say, rolling my eyes.

“I hear she hit you with a hammer? I always knew the chick was a box of crazy flakes!” He says, in all seriousness. “That’s why you should choose me.” He whispered, making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, in a good yet thrilling way.

Before I knew what was happening, Kyle scoots closer to me, landing on my cushion, balancing out the weight. “Kyle-” I whisper, but before I can stop him, his lips are also on mine, desperate for a response. Giving him a tiny one, I kiss him harder, someone shifting myself onto his lap. By this time, we’re in a full on make-out session.

“What the hell?” Jake’s venomously angry words caused me jump and flinch back. His veins were popping out of his head and he stood in front of us, watching the heart-breaking scene. Taking me off of Kyle gently, he picks the boy I was just recently kissing off of the couch and slams him back down before sloppily picking up his coat, storming off.

I sat there on the couch, completely ashamed of my actions. Kyle just had some strange way of giving you an urge for him, and there was no denying that he kissed like a pro. But it was rushed and feeling less, unlike Jake’s gentle touch of my lips. Kyle had been playing a video game in the living room with Caleb for three hours straight, and I sat there like an idiot, sad that I wasn’t able to scrunch up my knees and cry.

I was totally helpless and vulnerable, unable to do anything. Even move my arms and legs or shift myself into a more comfortable situation. Which was worse because I was supposed to be planning Caleb’s birthday party and picking out a homecoming dress and everything. How could I even wear one now? That goal seemed impossible.

Somehow while lost in my train of thought, I had fallen asleep. A few seconds later I felt Caleb’s small lips peck me on the cheek and then when his footsteps dismissed, I felt someone shift me onto their torso, knowing it was either Jake or Kyle, probably Jake because of the six pack I felt underneath his shirt. “You came back.” I say, half asleep.

“Of course, Allie. I’d never leave you and I’m sorry for being such a jerk.” He apologized, trailing kisses gently up and down my neck. “All we have to worry about is Caleb’s birthday party tomorrow. While I was gone, I got all kinds of decorations and streamers and a cake-”

“Thank you so much.” I say, kissing his cheek. Now all I needed was a dress, and I knew just who to call. Sleeping with so many casts was to much of a discomfort to me, but I tried to ignore it as best I could. Tomorrow, I’d call Naomi and we’d go dress shopping after we cleaned up the mess from Caleb’s party. It’d work perfectly. Shifting myself one more time, I fall asleep, fitting nicely into my boyfriend’s chest.

There, I’d finally said it.

In the morning, the birds distant chirping woke me up. I go to stretch, but groan in frustration when I realize the casts prevent me from doing that. “Jake?” I ask, feeling around for him with my good arm. Feeling nothing but I air, I struggle to get myself in my own wheelchair, my legs killing me. “Ow!” I cry out, slipping completely off the couch.

Jake bursts in from the kitchen area. “Oh, did you fall in your sleep?” Jake hoists me up gently into my wheel chair. I nod, trying to hide my flaming cheeks to no avail.

“Yeah.” I say quietly, wheeling myself into the kitchen one handedly, which was harder than it looked.

After eating the delicious breakfast Jake had prepared for me, he washes dishes and then draws me a bath, helping me into it more than willingly. We had to put all my casting into saran wrap, which was sort of an epic fail. Jake made up for it by scrubbing my back, kissing my neck and washing my hair for me again, bringing back that same amazing feeling as the suds were scrubbed into my scalp.

“That felt great.” I say, towel drying my hair with my good hand. “Your so good at like, doing people’s hair.” I tease, putting my hand on his firm chest, running my fingers up and down his abs, distracting him from saying anything. I knew how good my warm fingers would feel on his body.

“So did that.” He kisses me passionately, and I stick my tongue into his mouth without thinking about it, at last moment. “That felt better.”

Calling Naomi, I ask her about dress shopping with me. “Yeah, I’d love to take you. After all, it’s the least I could do with what happened. Oh well, I hear she’s getting locked up in the Looney bin pretty soon.” She gushes, starting her car. “Get ready and I’m on my way.” She smiles, glad to hear my voice I guess.

Struggling with my tank top, someone comes up behind me and finishes pulling it down for me. Jake also manages to button my pants for me, looks like it was back to lose fitting ones until all my broken bones healed. “Caleb!” I shriek, totally forgetting about him.

Wheeling myself hurriedly into the living room, the living room and kitchen were already completely decorated, which I was grateful for. “Thank you so much, Jake!” I wrap my arm around his neck as he applies one shoe to my good foot, and rubs the toes on my other foot that stick out of my cast flirtatiously.

The doorbell rings a few seconds later. Knowing it’s Naomi, I wheel over to the door and pull it open. “Hey!” She shouts, hugging me tightly, squishing the bouquet of flowers she had been holding.

“I missed you.” I say, smiling at her warmly. As Jake applies my coat to my body, I kiss him on the lips.

“Ooh.” Naomi jokes. “Oh yeah, almost forgot. Here’s the present for Caleb’s birthday, sorry, I didn’t know what to get the little runt.” She hands a rectangular wrapped box to Jake and he set it on the present table. It had red wrapping paper around it, and a yellow, fancy wrapped bow. Which was cute as ever.

“Aw, that’s sweet.” I smile as she wheels me out to her car. Jake has to help her move me from the wheelchair to the passenger seat, which isn’t too hard of a task for him.

It took us over two hours to find the perfect homecoming dress. It was a black, sparkly short dress that reached mid thigh on me, and really showed off my figure. It was the cutest dress I’d ever found. Naomi helped me zip up into it and took pictures she was going to show off on Facebook later.

Paying for the dress, the cashier smiles at me warmly, staring at my broken body in the wheel chair. Luckily, the doctor had also giving me crutches which I could manage. If Jake found out I’d be using them, he’d be really angry with me because he believed I’d always need as much rest as I could get. “Hey, you’re the girl that got her body smashed in by that psycho chick!” The lady recognized me somehow, and smiled at me as she smacked her gum.

“Yeah, I am.” I smile warmly, trying to figure out how she might have known who I was. “Was I in the newspaper or something?” I joke, laughing. When she nodded, I froze.

“They have a little camera in the traffic light you guys crashed at, it showed her hitting you and everything, and the blood was spewing-” Naomi must have seen the horrified expression on my face because she grabbed the bag, impatiently received her change, and hurried me along out of the store.
