Buck pov
I lay in bed.
Thinking hard about the lyrics.
Why, why, why?
While thinking i feel my eyes start getting heavy.
They close and i fall asleep.
I wake up not long after i fall asleep.
I check my phone to see the time
2:34 am
Maddie should've come home a few hours ago.
I didnt hear her come in
I go into my reminders app to see what time i need to work the next day.
Work 9am
I roll over away from my phone.
"Why do i have to work so early." I say quietly to myself.
I try to fall back asleep.
I try for what feels like hours.
I roll over again to see how long ive been trying with no luck.
2:39 am
Five minutes.
Ive been trying for five minutes.
I roll over again continuing to try and fall back asleep.
This time i wake up to an alarm.
Also known as my sister.
"Buck you work at 9 you better be awake." Maddie says banging at my door.
"Im up maddie."
I get out of bed and leave my room.
I get a towel from the closet go back in my room get my uniform out of my closet and go into the bathroom.
I turn on the shower and wait for it to heat up then i get in.
After my shower i get dressed and go make breakfast. Some simple toast with butter.
"Maddie im leaving in 5."
"Ok buck sounds great."
I finish my breakfast and I answer all my notifications from yesterday.
I put my shoes on grab my bag and keys and im out the door.
"Bye Maddie!" I yell as I leave.
I get in my car and start my drive to work.
I play the song from yesterday still on repeat.
As I pull up to work i see hen getting out of her car too.
She waves at me and starts walking towards me.
"Hey buck." She says as she opens the passenger side door.
"Hey hen." I say as I hurriedly try to turn off my car and music.
"What song were you listening to?" She asks me
"Oh nothing just the radio." I lie.
"Buck you're a terrible liar. What were you listening to?"
"Nothing seriously we should go in the shift started 5 minutes ago." I say trying to open my door.
Hen presses the lock button on her door.
"Buck i wont judge your music taste what were you listening to?"
"Hen seriously it was nothing."
She drops it and we get out of the car.
We walk into the station and into the locker room.
We put on our full uniform and hen starts heading upstairs.
I stay in the locker room for a little longer to calm myself and get ready for today before i go face anyone.
I look in the mirror and see my face is very red.
I go into the bathroom and splash some cold water on my face.
I hear the door open and look over too it.
"Hey Buck?"
"Hey Eddie." I say.
"Why are you splashing yourself with water?"
"My AC broke in my car so it was a very warm drive this morning."
"Oh makes sense."
I dry my face and walks out of the bathroom and head upstairs.
"Good morning cap." I say to bobby.
"Morning." He says in a tone that tells me to leave him alone.
Just as i sit down with everyone else the alarm goes off.

He put the shirt above on at the station and then a different like under shirt I guess (just a plain t-shirt) on when he was at home with his actual uniform pants at home I really hope this makes sense sorry if it doesn't
Hey sorry it's been so long without a chapter im trying to get chapter 20 written and I haven't been posting until i finish that one but i feel like it's been too long without a chapter so here's this one for now chapter 20 is still a major work in progress but i am trying to figure it out i just have a bit of writers block right now I wrote the first like 10 chapters without coming up with how i actually wanted this story to go so i didn't figure out how i was going to transition out of the fighting arc. But i wanted to say I promise im trying.
