The setting sun cast a warm golden hue across the city as Ishita and Paro sat in her apartment, preparing for the much-anticipated Malhotra's party. Ishita's eyes gleamed with excitement, and her heart filled with the anticipation of a glamorous evening.
Paro, however, sat on the edge of the bed, her face clouded with mixed emotions, remembering the hurt Adi had caused her just the other day.
She couldn't believe what her life had become! Why did she come here and what was she doing?
Being a mere plaything for an obnoxious bastard!
"Paro." Hearing Ishita's voice she had to reign in her mind.
" Oho! Get ready first. I ditched Rishabh and my uncle just because I wanted to go with you. I am damn excited to be at that party.
I have heard so much about Malhotra's party but I never got a chance to go there. I only heard stories from Rishabh.
Can't believe I didn't even know them a few months ago. But now it feels like I have known them for years."
Excitement was dripping from her voice.
Paro looked at her blankly. She could clearly see the admiration in her friend's eyes for Adi. The same friend who told her to maintain distance from that man now became an admirer of him after that fateful evening in that school.
But what would she do if she got to know what he did to her?
Would she still be a fangirl or
would raise her voice in her friend's favor?
She didn't know.
" Paro, come on. Hurry up." Ishita almost shouted.
" Yeah. Wait for a few minutes." Paro stood up from her place and left the room with the dress she had to wear.
After a few minutes, adorned in a fabulous chocolate-colored gown that clung to her curves, she again entered the room.
Ishita's eyes widened with awe,
she couldn't help but ask,
"Paro, where did you get that marvelous gown? It's simply breathtaking."
Paro's somber expression became even more gloomy hearing Ishita. She gulped a little, taking time to think of an answer. She didn't want to tell her who exactly gave her this dress. She didn't want to tell her how she was ordered to be wrapped in this expensive gown to look like an expensive object.
" Wear it tomorrow evening. I have personally bought it for you. You would look ravishing in it."
Was the words he whispered when he gave her the gift yesterday evening.
Gift?
Could you even call it one when your tormentor was the one who gave it?
" Papa brought it."
Paro came up with the best convincing answer.
" Wow! It's so damn beautiful. You are such a lucky girl!" Ishita giggled.
Paro wanted to laugh out loud hearing her.
Lucky! That she was.
With parents who had no amount of trust in her, who had already distanced themselves from her a long ago,
and now her newly found tormentor
Yes. She definitely was lucky.
She didn't even get herself to feel bad when her parents left yesterday. She felt more relaxed if she had to be honest.
She felt bad to be separated from Preeti though. The only person who understood her like no one.
" Come let me get you ready." Ishita led her to the vanity table.
" you're such a convincing friend." Paro smiled genuinely this time.
Ishita's eyes sparkled with delight, and she wasted no time in getting Paro ready for the evening. She opened her makeup box with an array of cosmetics and brushes. Picking up a foundation brush, Ishita began expertly applying a light layer of makeup, skillfully accentuating Paro's natural beauty.
As she worked, Ishita chattered away, her voice a soothing melody.
"Paro, I'll make sure you'll glow like an angel.
Paro couldn't help but smile, the weight of her apprehensions gradually melting away under Ishita's care. She watched as her reflection transformed, her features enhanced, yet still maintaining her unique charm.
Next, Ishita moved to Paro's hair, deftly twirling strands around a curling iron and setting them into place. Lastly, she made her put shiny crystal earrings, adding a touch of shimmer that caught the light with each movement.
Finally, as the last finishing touches were applied, Ishita stepped back and admired her handiwork. Paro gazed at herself in the mirror, her eyes widening in astonishment.
She looked stunning—a vision of grace and elegance.
"You look absolutely breathtaking, Paro, damn I have to keep all the boys away from you."
Ishita exclaimed, her voice filled with genuine awe.
Only if she could!
"Thank you, Ishita,"
she whispered, her voice filled with genuine warmth.
"I can't believe how much you've done for me tonight.
Let's go. I'm ready to face the world."
She said more to herself than Ishita.
" Where's everyone else? Your uncle and aunt?" Ishita asked.
" Oh, they have already left,"
Paro said while coming out of the room.
Linking arms, they made their way to the door, ready to deal with the night together.
As they stepped into the starlit night, Ishita's excitement was palpable, her laughter infectious. Paro, still hesitant, couldn't help getting anxious.
She was afraid of what would emerge again from the depths of uncertainty.

The grand ballroom was transformed into a dazzling haven of celebration for the Malhotra Industries party. The room was bathed in soft, warm lighting, casting a golden glow over the elegant decor.
Glistening chandeliers hung from the high ceilings, their crystal droplets scattering the light and creating mesmerizing reflections on the walls. The air was filled with a delightful blend of laughter, lively conversations, and the melodic strains of a talented live band.
Adi, dressed impeccably in a tailored suit, couldn't help but cast anxious glances around the room, his eyes searching for a glimpse of a particular person.
His heart raced with anticipation, and time seemed to slow down as he eagerly waited for her arrival. Each passing moment felt like an eternity, heightening his yearning to see her.
Conversations buzzed around him, mingling with the rhythmic beats of music.
With a bored face he saw a few figures that got into the room.
But amidst the crowd, his eyes were suddenly drawn to that one girl,
entering the room —Paro.
Her flowing gown cascaded gracefully around her, accentuating her slender figure, and her auburn hair tresses framed her face in gentle waves.
Adi's gaze locked onto Paro, unable to tear his eyes away from her. The world around him seemed to fade into the background as he drank in the sight of her.
The way she was looking around in awe with her large brown orbs and the way her every movement emanated grace and elegance, he couldn't get enough of that.
As Paro and Ishita made their way through the crowd the temporary spell that was cast on him was gone.
Adi's heart suddenly swelled with possessiveness as he saw she was pulling the attention in the room other than his.
He promised himself once more that Paro was meant to be his, that no other person could capture her heart the way he believed he could.
The intensity of his feelings heightened, and he silently vowed to make her see his true intentions on their date, to win her over in every way possible despite any obstacles that lay in their path.
The room buzzed with excitement as guests mingled, clinking glasses filled with champagne and indulging in delectable appetizers that were served by waitstaff gliding gracefully through the crowd. The atmosphere was one of success, achievement, and a glorious future.
Adi took a step forward, his eyes never leaving Paro's form as she engaged in conversation with Ishita.
He navigated through the sea of guests, his determination evident in his stride. It was as if the universe had conspired to bring them together at that moment, and he was ready to seize the opportunity to take a step ahead to make Paro his own.
