"Will he really turn into a Zombie?"
"Is being scratched by a Zombie really makes one become a Zombie too?"
The group circled around them slowly moving a distance away from Xiao Chun who had stopped punching the middle age man in shock, which the other took as a chance to escape.
The middle age man scrambled away hurriedly afraid that Xiao Chun would pull him back again and begin punching him.
"It's true. What I said is true!"
"Why should we believe you?" A sexy woman said.
"Yeah, why should we believe your nonsense? Where is your evidence?"
"Maybe you are just saying nonsense!"
"Right!"
The middle age man look at them with shock, he gritted his teeth.
"I'm saying the truth! I'm not lying. Why would I even dare to lie? I saw it with my own eyes that once you got bitten by a Zombie you will also turn into a Zombie!"
"But isn't Xiao Chun just scratched? Would he turn into a Zombie?" A timid man asked.
"Of course! Haven't you read those novels and manhuas depicting that being bitten or scratched would result in them turning into Zombies! This is it!" The middle age man crazily said with manic in his eyes.
"But those are all just fiction." A teenage girl said.
"Zombies were also just fiction in the past but look at those Zombies chasing after us, they are all real. So, how come being bitten or scratched won't turn them into a Zombie? That's the fact!"
"But..."
"What are you all hesitating for?"
The middle age man look at the people surrounding them, the manic in his eyes getting brighter and deeper.
"We need to choose. Him or us. When he turned into a Zombie it's too late to regret, he will kill us. It is now up to us to kick him. It is only right, this is reality not fiction. We can't keep something that will endanger all of us just because of what ifs."
He Ming was quiet or more like shock when he heard what the middle age man said about Xiao Chun turning into a Zombie.
He could not believe that the cause of saving him was Xiao Chun's life.
The voices around him were drowned and he could not hear anything.
He could only watch as those doubtful eyes turned to Xiao Chun with menace and the will to kill him.
"What about He Ming, was he also scratched?" Someone said.
"We must also kick him out. The two of them were together, who knows if he was also scratched or bitten." The middle age man said.
"He Ming is not bitten or scratched. He must stay."
Xiao Chun who was quietly listening to what the others had said finally said a word, not of defense but for He Ming's sake.
"Ge, no. I don't want to stay here. I want to be with you. I don't believe that you will really turn into a Zombie. I don't believe it..."
He Ming tightly grabs the corner of Xiao Chun's clothes.
"He Ming, listen to me. You must stay here. It's safe here than coming with me. What if I really become a Zombie." Xiao Chun softly spoke to him not wanting to scare him.
"Ge, I want to go with you." He Ming shook his head to disagree.
"He Ming..."
Xiao Chun looked at him depressed when he suddenly coughed, blood stained the ground red from the blood that sprayed from his mouth.
"Ah!"
"He spat out blood!"
"He is infected!"
"Xiao Chun, what are you waiting for? Leave here you freak! Don't involve us with you. I still don't want to die. You better die alone!" A boy in the same school uniform as Xiao Chun fearfully said.
Xiao Chun who heard this almost stride over to break his neck before leaving if not for He Ming tightly holding his hand.
"No, don't leave." He Ming begged.
"Ming, please stay."
"Ge, I want to go with you."
"He Ming, what are you doing? Let go of Xiao Chun."
An older woman tried to pull He Ming over.
"If you go with here, death is only waiting for you. He is going to turn into a Zombie, he can't protect you anymore."
"But..."
"He Ming, stop acting like a child and let go." A classmate said and pulled him.
"No, I don't want to. I want to leave with Xiao Chun!"
He Ming only held Xiao Chun tighter and did not want to let go.
Xiao Chun could only helplessly watch as they try to pry He Ming away from him, but his grip was too tight that they ripped his sleeves instead showing the paleness of his skin with a long tint of red.
"He Ming, stop this nonsense and let go-ah!"
The long tint of red was actually a long wound, six inches long and one inch wide.
It looks so scary on his smooth pale skin that it was almost glaring burning their eyes.
"He Ming, is injured!"
The classmate who saw the wound quickly let go of He Ming almost pushing him back making him stumble.
Luckily, Xiao Chun was beside him catching him before he fell face first on the ground.
"Was it a bite or a scratch?"
The middle-aged man who was already drowned in his "the world is doomed and I'm a savior" fantasy was also alarmed and menacingly glares at He Ming baring his fangs at him.
"It seems to be a scratch. Will he also turn into a Zombie?" A timid teenager says.
"He will likely so."
The middle-aged man confirmed with a nod.
He looks at He Ming with a shake of his head and sighed.
Xiao Chun's face darkened.
"He Ming was not scratched by a Zombie. He got that when he was caught in a broken wood while escaping."
"Hmp! Stop covering for him. He is scratched and he will also become a Zombie. He can't stay here and must also leave."
"You can't do that. He Ming is not scratched by a Zombie, you are killing people if you drive him away."
Xiao Chun was about to grab the middle age man's collar when a nuzzle of a gun was pointed right at his head.
"You!"
Xiao Chun just noticed that the gun that he had hidden was gone and it was on the middle-aged man's hand.
"So that was why you did not struggle at first, you were aiming for my gun." Xiao Chun gritted his teeth.
The middle-aged man just smiled.
"Are you going to leave, or do you want me to kill you right here and now?"
Xiao Chun darkly stared at him.
"Ge! Ah!"
Before his mind could process what was happening, He Ming who was standing behind him was pulled by dozens of arms making him fall back.
With the light coming from the rooftop, Xiao Chun could see the rotten faces of the owner of those hands.
"Ming!"
Xiao Chun dashed towards He Ming reaching out a hand to help.
The moment he steps out of the door, the door was tightly shut after him leaving him no way back.
"Bastards!"
