As you stepped into the amusement park, you couldn't help but feel excited. The sound of screams and laughter filled the air, and you knew that today was going to be a fun day. You and your best friend had been planning this trip for weeks, and you were looking forward to spending the day with her and her boyfriend.
But things didn't go as planned. When you arrived, you found out that the amusement park was running a special promotion for couples as it was valentines day, and your friend and her boyfriend had already taken advantage of it. That meant that you and your friend's boyfriend's friend, Hongjoong, were left to pair up.
At first, you felt a little awkward. You and Hongjoong didn't really know each other well, and you weren't sure what to talk about. But as the day went on, you found that you actually enjoyed his company. He was funny and charming, and he knew how to make you laugh.
You and Hongjoong had been wandering around the amusement park for hours. You rode the Ferris wheel and the bumper cars, played carnival games, and ate funnel cake. As the sun began to set, you found yourselves at the top of a roller coaster.
As you waited for the coaster to take off, Hongjoong turned to you. "You know, I'm glad we ended up spending the day together," he said.
You smiled, feeling a warmth spread through your chest. "Yeah, it's been fun."
The coaster lurched forward, and you both screamed as it dropped down a steep incline. You clung to the safety bar as Hongjoong threw his arms up in the air, laughing.
When the ride was over, you stumbled off, feeling dizzy and exhilarated. Hongjoong took your hand, steadying you. "You okay?"
"Yeah, I'm good," you said, grinning.
As you walked through the park, you realized that you were having a genuinely good time with Hongjoong. It was strange, considering you barely knew him, but you felt comfortable around him.
Eventually, you found your friend and her boyfriend waiting for you near the exit. "We're about to head out," she said.
You hugged her and said goodbye to her boyfriend, then turned to Hongjoong. "Thanks for today. It was a lot of fun."
"Yeah, it was," he said, his eyes softening. "Listen, I know this might be weird, but would you want to go out with me sometime? Like, on an actual date?"
You felt your heart skip a beat. "Um, yeah. I'd like that."
"Great," Hongjoong said, grinning. "I'll call you."
As you walked away, you couldn't help but feel excited about the prospect of seeing him again.
Later that night, you were lying in bed, scrolling through your phone. You paused when you saw that Hongjoong had texted you.
"Hey, I had a really great time today. Can't wait to see you again."
You smiled, feeling a flutter in your stomach. You replied, "Me too :)"
As you put your phone down, you thought about how unexpected the day had been. You never would have guessed that you'd spend Valentine's Day at an amusement park with a guy you barely knew.
But as you drifted off to sleep, you couldn't help but feel like it was exactly where you were meant to be.
