Chapter 5

He left without looking back.

He couldn't control himself; just a whiff of her scent was enough to set him off. Her full plump lips, which were innocently teasing him to have a taste, were imprinted in his memory. Had it been he had tasted, he wouldn't be able to control himself-the last strain of sanity would leave him.

Her eyelashes fanned her face as her expectant lips were calling him to her like a siren. He shook his head as he clenched his fist and left, which elicited a shocked gasp and murmur from the crowd.

He walked in a long stride, unbuttoning his suit, and threw it away without knowing where it landed. He needed to cool off because the unfathomable heat and need he felt were making him crazy.

His heart was beating loudly as blood was rushing down to his groin at a faster rate.

He went to his car at the underground garage and ignited it to life before zooming off to any nearest bar he could find to quench the heat he was feeling.

His body never behaved like this to anyone.

Just her picture made him masturbate, and her lips made him want to release a caged beast in him that he didn't know existed.

He took out his phone and dialled his best friend's number. He couldn't call his mother because he knew she would be angry and sad.

He opened two buttons of his shirt, tugged the tie away from his neck, and threw it to the back seats. He uncuffed his cufflinks and rolled the long sleeves to his elbow, running his hand through his hair as he waited for his friend to answer his call.

He agitated, drumming his fingers on the steering; he fixed the Bluetooth firmly on his ear as he continued to speed up with his left hand.

"What the hell was that leaving your bride out there?!" his friend screamed at him, which made him cringe.

"I know," he agreed.

"You better know!" His friend reprimanded him.

"I'm sorry."

"You left the girl out there by herself even if she's not the girl you want—" his friend paused a little, "she's on the verge of crying; she looked so lost and scared," his friend added softly while Nathaniel gripped the rim of the steering tightly, he could feel his nails scraping the leather.

He breathed in and out softly, shutting his eyes, trying to contain his anger, "take her home," he said, ready to hang up before he heard his friend's concerned voice.

"What you did today would bring many questions about your wedding on tomorrow's tabloid."

"I know," he responded and hung up.

Angelina had always dreamed of her wedding to be a perfect wedding, where she would be married to the man of her life in her father's backyard with her family and her husband's family.

Just a small wedding yet extravagant where she would be the happiest and luckiest girl on earth, but all was her fairy tale.

She got married extravagantly but not to the man who stole and had the key to her heart but to a stranger, which she only meant as a substitute.

She agreed to the wedding not because the man she was to marry or the man she married was rich but because she was a person who couldn't say no to someone's request. She found it hard that people used that to bully her or belittle her. Just a distressed face, she succumbed to anyone's request. And more also, she got free rent and food, which would allow her to have more money.

She was on the brink of tears with the crowd murmurs and the paparazzi flashlights. Her body was trembling with fear; she was scared. She had never faced a crowd like this. Whispers continued to flow as the crowd depreciated one after the other.

As the groom left the occasion, the groom's mother and father ran after him for an explanation, but they couldn't reach him before he zoomed off.

"Why did you think he left?" the groom's father asked his wife, who was red in anger.

"How dare that little boy leave the girl!" the woman bellowed angrily as her small petite figure shook. "He thinks that he could do anything he wanted because he is our only son!" she seethed, "I'm going to disown him—" then interrupted her with a wave of his hand.

"Sweetie," he called softly, patting her shoulder, "He's still a kid; we can't just —" he tried to cajole her as she glared at him.

"A kid?" Jasmine asked sarcastically, "A twenty-six-year-old man is a kid?" She emphasised the word 'kid' while her husband smiled sheepishly.

"Let's just go check the girl," he changed the subject as he saw his wife's eyes widen in mortification.

"Oh my, oh my!" she exclaimed, "we left the poor girl alone," she ran as her husband followed her suit.

Angelina was a meek girl and never voiced her displeasure to anyone except her father and Belle.

She was hurt although the wedding was a fake one and there was nothing between them. He was supposed to wait and respect her, but he left her to the lions to devour.

She didn't open her veil because of the judgmental eyes and hushed voices. Her lips trembled as she bit her lips to stop her from crying.

She was nudged by a man who wore a tuxedo that matched his jet-black hair. He was tall and built but not like the groom. He smiled softly at her before ushering her to move away from the altar. She left her supposed to be thrown flower on the table and followed him to wherever he was taking her, and she was grateful for it.

"Don't fret about him; he was just bitter because his fiance left him," he assured her in a soft tone.

Worry! she thought sarcastically as she held the wedding gown tightly. Even though it was fake, he should at least be a gentleman and wait! She screamed internally.

They walked for a short distance before the man stopped making her automatically stop behind the man, "Stay here; let me bring the car," he smiled and left her standing outside. She rubbed her shoulder to keep her warm as the November breeze made her shiver in her armless gown.

The car roared to life as the gentleman parked at her front; he opened the door and went out, offing his suit only to wrap it around her.

"Sorry for that," he said, "I hope that can keep you warm till I get you home," she nodded in understanding.

She hugged the suit tightly, feeling warm, he opened the back seat for her, and she entered, closing the door gently before walking to the driver seat.
