Quietly I got out of bed so I don't wake Sean, I grabbed my things then kissed his cheek before leaving. As I stepped outside I slid the holster onto the side of my jeans then the badge and pulled on my jacket while walking to the car. I climbed in starting the car to make my way to the precinct. On my way there my phone rang so I glanced to see it was Rosalee calling, I reached over answering her call then her voice appeared through the car speakers,
Rosalee:"Hey sorry I know your heading to work but are you free for lunch?"
Me:"It's alright and yea sure, where?"
Rosalee:"The spice shop if you can."
Me:"Yea I'll swing by there close to 1 o'clock."
Rosalee:"Sounds good, I'll let you go see you then!"
Me:"Bye Rosalee!"
She hung up and it was back to silence.

I walked passed Nick and Hank to head straight into the office to begin my day.
I've been in this office all morning and it was only going on noon. Looking through the case file Wu brought me from our case yesterday there was a knock on the door, I didn't bother to look up only told the person to come in. The door opened then closed a second later,
Nick:"Can we talk?"
I dropped the file onto the desk then looked up angrily,
Me:"Talk about what?"
Nick:"For starters, how about last night?"
Me:"What about it? What you and her said it was lies and made up stories so nice try if there's something case related to talk about then go for otherwise don't speak."
Nick:"Sylas.. I'm serious."
Me:"I am too Nick, I don't believe what you said is the truth."
Nick:"Then I'll have to show you myself."
Me:"You can try but it won't change things."
Nick went to speak but was interrupted by the door opening, Wu walked in.
Wu:"Sorry but captain Renard called, he's cleared to go home."
Me:"Good! Can you pick him up and take him home?"
Wu:"Sure can."
Me:"Tell him I'll be home after lunch."
Wu:"Will do I'll be back."
Me:"Thanks Wu."
Wu smiled then walked out pulling the door closed behind him.
Nick:"Will you just hear me out?"
Me:"I'll try but right now no."
Nick:"Fine I'll give you time."
Nick walked out slamming the door behind him, ugh sometimes the thought of being the only kid sounds nice but it's not that way.

I walked into the spice shop to see Rosalee and Monroe who smiled when they looked up,
Rosalee:"You came!"
Me:"Of course I did, what's up?"
Nick walked out from the back reading a book only to look up to see I was here.
Nick:"Oh.."
Me:"What's going on?"
Rosalee:"Hear us out Sy, Nick told us about last night."
I scoffed and looked at them sternly,
Me:"No, don't even say anything. Nick you said you'd give me time."
Nick:"I know I'm sorry I just want you to believe me."
Me:"That's it I'm leaving."
Nick:"Wait!"
I walked out of the spice shop getting into the car then drove to Nick's to grab my things. Luckily Juliette wasn't home so I didn't have to explain to her why I'm angry once again.

I got out of the car grabbing my bag then shut the door to head inside the house. I walked inside the house closing the door behind me and walked down the small hallway that led to the living room finding Sean stretched out on the couch,
Sean:"Hey babe."
Me:"Hey yourself, how's it feel to be home?"
I sat my bag down as he sat up so I could sit next to him, he smiled wide then grabbed my hand kissing the top of it.
Sean:"It feels great and I feel sooo good right now."
Me:"Great they drugged you up."
We both laughed and Sean leaned back,
Sean:"Your home early."
Me:"Nick started with the monster bullshit again even dragged Rosalee and Monroe into it to help me believe but once I figured out that's what it was about I left and came here."
Sean:"Really? When are his lies going to end?"
Me:"I have no clue."
Sean:"I wouldn't worry about it, how did this morning go?"
I sighed then stood up walking over to the stand grabbing a glass to pour some whiskey into it, holding the glass I walked back over to the couch sitting back down.
Me:"At first I was annoyed to even go in today but I still went. Trying to figure out this case we got yesterday makes no sense to me and Nick came in to talk but I wasn't ready to speak to him, before he could say anything else Wu came into the office telling me you were able to go home. That's why Wu was the one to pick you up instead of me so I'm sorry for that."
I took a drink as Sean sighed then he turned towards me taking the glass from my hand.
Sean:"Don't apologize I figured something happened when Wu showed up. Nick was so quiet while you were in a coma, he shouldn't be pushing you this hard it can only make the side effects worse and if they do you need to tell me."
Me:"What can you do about it?"
Sean:"Well if I know what's going on I can help fix the problem."
Me:"I wish I knew what was going on."
Sean:"What about the case?"
I leaned back as Sean handed the glass back to me,
Me:"It's undescribable, three dead victims yesterday two with claw marks and the third ones throat was ripping out. None of that case makes any sense but this morning? Two victims found frozen to death with puncture wounds on there necks."
Sean stared at me for a moment then sat up straight,
Sean:"That is odd, yesterday's case could have been a wild animal and the case this morning? That one I can't figure out."
Me:"Yea that's what Nick and Hank claims yesterday's case to be and this mornings case they haven't said a single word to me about it."
Sean:"Were you given a file?"
Me:"Yea I have it with me in my bag."
Sean:"Show it to me."
Me:"You're supposed to be resting."
Sean:"Yea well you can't speak to Nock about it right now so I'm your only option."
I nodded then leaned over the arm of the couch picking up my bag, I sat back digging through the bag for the case file. I'm not surprised that I put both case files in there, I pulled both files out then dropped the bag to the floor and turned towards Sean handing him the files. He sat there looking over both files before speaking,
Sean:"Yea yesterday's case us a wild animal and this case? I've never seen anything like it."
Me:"I haven't either but the thing I can't explain is how the helld did they freeze?"
Sean grew quiet as he continued looking over the photos, I sat there waiting for him to say something.
Sean:"To me, these look like snake pucture wounds but that can't be possible."
Me:"I was thinking the same thing but in order for that to happen it had to be a giant snake which doesn't exist."
Sean:"I've seen stranger things before so anything is possible but your right they don't exist."
Me:"I don't know how to explain this case to the DA."
Sean:"You don't why don't you leave these files with me it'll give me something to do when you head back to work."
Me:"Are you sure?"
Sean:"If I wasn't I wouldn't have mentioned it darling."
Me:"Your right."
He smiled then leaned forward pulling me into a kiss, before it went any further we were interrupted by my phone ringing. I groaned and picked up my phone seeing it was Nick calling, what could he possibly want now?
Me:"Yea?...when did this happen....okay I'm leaving now."
I hung up then stood up,
Sean:"Another case?"
Me:"Makes the third frozen body today, I'll be home later want me to stop and grab something to eat on the way home?"
Sean:"No that's okay babe I'll figure something out you just worry about the case and watch your back out there."
Me:"Okay and I will."
I leaned down giving him a kiss,
Me:"I love you call if something goes wrong."
Sean:"I will I love you too."
I smiled softly then left in a hurry.

I walked towards the crime scene to see Hank and Wu,
Me:"Where's Nick?"
Hank:"Hey Sy, he's in the victims house."
Me:"Body inside?"
Hank:"Sure is I'll show you."
I nodded and followed Hank inside the house, Nick stood up and turned towards us.
Nick:"Sylas."
Me:"What's with the frozen bodies?"
Nick:"Not sure still trying to figure it out. Anyway meet Shelly Meyers, age 34, lives alone except she has a niece living with her."
Me:"Where is she?"
Nick:"In school she's only 13."
Me:"Damn...has anyone spoke to her yet?"
Nick:"Yea I had an officer go break the news to her."
Me:"Where is she going to go?"
Nick:"Wherever child services sends her."
Me:"Nick.."
Nick:"There's nothing I can do about that."
Me:"You know if aunt Marie didn't take us in we would have been in this little girl's situation years ago. It's not right."
Nick sighed but nodded since he knew I was right,
Nick:"I'll see what I can do about it, okay?"
Me:"Yea..."
Nick:"I'll be right back."
Nick walked away so Hank nudged me and when I looked at him he had a creepy look on his face so I laughed,
Me:"What?"
Hank:"Get some of that captain Renard?"
I can't believe Hank just asked that...feeling my cheeks heat up I cleared my throat.
Me:"Odd question but no Nick called."
Hank:"Damn sibling cockblocker."
Me:"Oh my god! I can't deal with you today Hank."
The two of us laughed as Nick walked back inside.
Nick:"What's so funny?"
Hank:"Embarrassing Sylas, found out anything?"
Nick:"Not much but I know where we can look."
Me:"You two get on it I'll check the file records to see if there is anything similar to these cases."
Nick:"Okay, we'll meet you at the precinct in an hour."
Me:"Alright."

Sean's P.O.V
I've looked over these files for awhile now, feeling a headache forming I laid the files on the coffee table then stretched out on the couch to close my eyes. It was a peaceful few mintues til my phone rang, reaching over I picked my phone up and answered the call,
Me:"Hello?"
Rosalee:"Hey Sean, it's Rosalee."
Me:"Hey Rosalee, what can I do for you?"
Rosalee:"Nothing, Monroe and I wanted to patch things up with Sylas but I wanted to speak with you."
Me:"What's going on?"
Rosalee:"Nothing bad just wanted to know if it's okay to stop by with dinner for the two of you tonight?"
Me:"Actually that's a great idea I didn't want her to cook after a long day we've been apart for awhile."
Rosalee:"I know, don't tell her I want it to be a surprise. Also, do you have a problem with sushi?"
Me:"I love it and so does Sy."
Rosalee:"Great! I'll call later when we're on our way."
Me:"Sounds great thanks Rosalee."
Rosalee:"Not a problem, before I go how are you feeling?"
Me:"I haven't told Sylas but I'm in a lot of pain."
Rosalee:"I can help with that too, I'll get it ready and bring it over tonight."
Me:"That would be great thank you."
Rosalee:"Monroe just got back, I'll call later."
Me:"Bye Rosalee."
She hung up quickly so I laid my phone on my stomach, not even a few minutes later the phone rang again. I just want to get some sleep,
Me:"What?!"
Eric:"That's no way to answer the phone dear brother."
Me:"Eric! How dare you threaten Sylas, your lucky I wasn't there or I would have killed you!"
Eric:"Oh calm down, I didn't touch the fragile woman."
Me:"Let me get something straight, Sylas is not fragile I wouldn't fuck with me Eric. I'm not in the mood to hear your bullshit!"
Eric:"When are you? The reason I called was to check if she told you but from your responses I knew she wouldn't let me down. You never mentioned the fire she has deep inside her, leaving information out like that is a bad decision. You will hear from our father for that."
Me:"I don't care what he has to say I've told you numerous of times left Sylas out of the family business."
Eric:"Oh I see now, she doesn't know..does she?"
Me:"I'm not answering that."
Eric:"So she doesn't, that's very interesting news Sean. I'm sure she would love to hear about this herself."
I quickly sat up tightening my jaw,
Me:"Leave Sylas alone! This is your last warning, you contact her again I will hunt you down."
Eric:"Oh put your Zauberbeist away, no need for that I'm just getting your riled up. Your time to get that key is running out and now that's your home you can get started on it."
Me:"Are you watching me?"
Eric:"That's none of your concern Sean, just get the key and I'll leave you and Sylas alone. If you fail us again then you will regret it."
Eric hung up instantly after saying that, I growled then got up heading upstairs to change.

Sylas's P.O.V
I stood in the office with Hank and Nick going over the files again but this time together.
Me:"None of this makes any sense at all."
Nick:"I know it doesn't make sense to you but-"
Nick stopped due to the office door opening and Sean walked in,
Me:"What the hell are you doing here?!"
Sean:"Don't Sylas, Nick you and I need to talk right now."
Me:"Sean! Your not supposed to be here."
Sean:"Sylas please don't. This is very serious Nick."
Nick:"Okay, you two wait here."
Nick walked out of the office with Sean so I looked to Hank who shrugged.
Hank:"I have no clue."
Me:"Why do men never listen?"
Hank:"Uh I don't know how to answer that."
Me:"What could be so serious?"
I walked over to the window staring through the blinds seeing Nick rub his face out of frustration. I wonder if Eric contacted Sean... I went to walk out of the office but Hank stopped me.
Hank:"I wouldn't do that, Sean doesn't look happy."
Me:"No kidding and I have an idea what it's about."
Hank:"Sylas just stay in here."
Instead of listening to Hank I walked out of the office making my way towards Sean and Nick,
Sean:"I told you to stay in the office Sylas."
Me:"You didn't listen to me so why should I listen to you?"
Sean:"I'm begging you Sy don't test me."
Me:"I'm not, did Eric call you?"
Sean quickly looked to me then back to Nick who nodded and walked away. Sean grabbed my arm pulling me into the interrogation room for privacy.
Sean:"How do you know about that?"
Me:"I didn't you just told me. What did he say?"
Sean:"Nothing good, look don't worry about it okay? I'll be fine and so will you. I want you with someone at all times when your here, understand me?"
Me:"Yea I understand, what's the deal with your family?"
Sean stepped closer staring down at me,
Sean:"People you don't want to cross, we'll talk more when you get home."
Me:"Are you heading home?"
Sean:"Not right away."
Me:"You should before you hurt yourself."
Sean:"Yea well to tell you the truth I've been hurting, it's not going away anytime soon."
Me:"Why did you tell me?!"
Sean sighed then took a step back,
Sean:"You have a lot on your mind right now and worrying about me won't help you. I'm s-"
Sean stopped since he gripped his chest breathing heavily,
Me:"Sean?"
I took a step towards him when he collapsed to the floor,
Me:"Sean!"
I got the door open yelling for Nick which him and Hank rushed over,
Nick:"What the hell happened?"
Me:"I don't know we were talking then he stopped grabbed his chest then collapsed! We need to get him back home he shouldn't have left the house in the first place.."
Nick:"Yea he shouldn't have, Hank give me a hand."

Helping Hank and Nick get Sean into the house was a struggle for a slim man he's pure dead weight when he's out.
Me:"Lay him on the couch, we won't make it up those stairs."
Hank:"Alright."
Nick and Hank moved towards the couch laying Sean down carefully.
Me:"You two get back to the precinct I'll stay with Sean."
Nick:"If something changes call me."
Me:"I will, thank you."
Nick slightly nodded then followed Hank towards the door but I rushed after them,
Me:"Hey Nick?"
Nick:"Yea?"
Me:"I'm sorry about last night..."
Nick:"No I get it, I would have reacted the same way. You know? Aunt Marie told me to break it off with Juliette too so your not alone on that."
Me:"Why would she say something like that?"
Nick:"Not important you wouldn't believe me anyway."
Me:"Try me."
Nick:"I'll stop by later okay?"
Me:"Okay."
I let Nick and Hank out then closed the door to make my way back to the living room. I sat next to Sean reaching up running my fingers through his hair, this is the only time he seems peaceful.
I've been cleaning up the house while Sean is still sleeping. Faint groaning came from the living room so I stopped what I was doing to walk in there. Sean was sitting up but still holding his chest,
Me:"Sean?"
He slowly looked over and smiled weakly,
Me:"You shouldn't have left the house..you scared the hell out of me."
Sean:"I'm sorry.."
I sat next to him slowly rubbing his back,
Me:"What happened?"
Sean:"Felt like I was reshot then a strong burning sensation leading to me not being able to breathe. I'm sorry if that scared you but I'm fine now."
Me:"You don't look fine Sean."
Sean:"I am, how did I get here?"
Me:"Nick and Hank helped me get you into the car then in the house when we got here. We've been home for three hours."
Sean:"Three hours? Wow I've been asleep for awhile."
Me:"Yes you have, Sean your bleeding.."
Sean looked down seeing his shirt was bloody then removed it quickly to see that the wounds were still closed,
Me:"What..?"
Sean:"I'm fine I promise, I just need a shower."
Me:"Well your not walking up those stairs just yet, luckily there's a bathroom down here. I'll go grab you something to wear."
Sean:"What would I do without you?"
Me:"I'm not sure I want to find out."
He smiled and leaned over kissing my cheek. I stood up darting up the stairs and into our bedroom, he decorated it perfectly. Opening the closet I grabbed his favorite royal blue silk pajamas then closed the door walking back down the stairs,
Sean:"What did you grab?"
Me:"Your favorite."
He stood up to see the pajamas,
Sean:"You do know me."
Me:"Of course I do, now come on."
I held out my hand which Sean took and I walked him down the hallway towards the bathroom. I sat his pajamas on the sink counter then ran him a hot bath.
Sean:"I'm a man so I shower."
Me:"Not today you aren't. So deal with it."
Sean:"Yes dear."
I smiled to myself then shut off the water standing up to look at Sean,
Sean:"What?"
Me:"I don't know why your still dressed."
Sean:"Can you help me?"
Softly laughing I walked over to him, he used my shoulders to help him stand up as he dropped his pants. Guiding him towards the tub I helped him get in, as he sat down I grabbed a folded towel and placed it under his head for support.
Me:"Yell if you need me."
Sean:"No, stay."
Me:"Are you feeling okay?"
Sean:"Yea just in case I rather you be in here with me."
Me:"Okay."
He smiled and I sat behind him on the edge of the tub as he sat up I began washing his hair while he washed his body,
Sean:"If you spoil me too much ill get used to it."
Me:"Doesn't hurt to help my soon to be husband while he's injured."
Sean:"Your too amazing to me."
Me:"Hey you would have done the same thing for me."
Sean:"Without hesitation I so would."
Me:"My point exactly so stop complaining."
Sean:"Right away captain."
We both laughed and I had him lean his head back a bit for me to rinse the shampoo out of his hair.

Sean and I sat on the couch snuggled together,
Sean:"Thank you for helping me Sy."
Me:"Nothing I wouldn't do for you Sean."
He smiled and kissed the top of my head,
Sean:"You'll make a wonderful wife."
Me:"I would?"
Sean:"Without a doubt, you would."
Me:"Your too sweet."
Sean chuckled while his phone rang, in a hurry he answered it but he didn't seem angry. The call didn't last long so it probably wasn't important,
Sean:"Dinner will be here shortly."
Me:"You ordered something?"
Sean:"Something like that, you'll see."
Sean and I laid like this for almost a half hour til there was a knock at the door.
Me:"I'll get it."
Sean:"Okay."
I kissed him then carefully got up walking towards the front door, looking at the camera I saw it was just Monroe and Rosalee. I opened the door with a confused look,
Rosalee:"Hey Sylas."
Me:"Hey guys, what are you doing here?"
Rosalee:"We felt bad about yesterday so I called Sean earlier to tell him that Monroe and I would bring you two dinner."
Me:"Rosalee.. you didn't have to do this guys. I'm not mad at you."
Monroe:"We know, may we come in? Rosalee has brew for Sean's pain."
Me:"Oh thank you, he showed up at the precinct today and he collapsed."
Rosalee:"I need to see him."

I pushed Sean against the wall kissing him deeply to feel him grab a handful of my hair to pull my head back for him to sink his teeth into my neck, my eyes trailed towards the mirror seeing Sean's face didn't look normal which caused me to shove myself away from him. I looked towards Sean who seemed confused,
Sean:"What's wrong?"
Me:"Nothing sorry."
He raised his eyebrow not believing me but we went back to kissing one another, Sean broke the kiss unbottoning his shirt then pushed it off. When our eyes met it made me shiver especially the way he crept towards me, I blinked then his face looked exactly like it was when I looked into the mirror but this time it didn't go away so I dropped to the floor covering my face with my arms as I shook from fear.
Sean:"Sylas? Whats wrong baby?"
He dropped down in front of me and moved my arms,
Sean:"Look at me Sylas."
Me:"No!"
Listening to him sigh he pulled me up,
Sean:"Please open your eyes."
I slowly opened my eyes seeing his face was normal again,
Me:"What the fuck.."
Sean:"What is going on with you tonight?"
Me:"I thought I saw...nevermind."
Sean:"No, you thought you saw what?"
Me:"Your face it was different when I looked into the mirror and a moment ago.."
Sean:"Maybe this should wait another night, you look exhausted. Come on we're going to bed."
I sighed closing my eyes to rub my face, when I opened my eyes Sean's face did the same thing! I freaked out jumping to my feet running out of the room and out of the house hearing Sean call after me.

Sean's P.O.V
Fuck! I went back inside to pick my phone up from the living room coffee table to call Nick, it rang and rang before he finally answered.
Nick:"Everything okay?"
Me:"No everything isn't okay."
Nick:"What's wrong?"
Me:"You don't want to know but things got really intimate between us she got spooked but I was able to ease her mind before we got back to it then she fucking freaks out curled up into a ball on the floor near the dresser I got her to calm down but when she looked at me she looked very terrified then left, I couldn't stop her.."
Nick:"Why would she react like that?"
I sighed and closed my eyes,
Me:"Those damn side effects, I think I unwillingly Vogel out in front of her...Nick I don't know what to do and I can't think straight right now, if she saw what I think she did she'll never come near me again."
Nick:"Shit...stay by your phone I'll go look for her."
Me:"Thanks Nick."
I hung up tossing my phone onto the couch, I walked over pouring me a glass of whiskey then stood there drinking it as I stared at the clock.

Sylas's P.O.V
I waited inside the Cafe for Rosalee and Monroe to meet me, I didn't know who else to call besides them. After almost twenty minutes both Rosalee and Monroe walked into shop, when they sat down Rosalee knew something was wrong.
Rosalee:"What happened?"
Me:"I don't know, it's something I'm not sure how to explain.."
Monroe:"Well start at the beginning."
I took a deep breath then exhaled,
Me:"Sean and I was well you know, getting intimate and I thought his face looked differently when I glanced into the mirror but when I looked at him myself his face was normal. So we continued and his face was exactly how it was in the mirror which freaked me out, Sean literally had to pull my arms away from my face and when I told him the same face came back I didn't know what to do so I ran and came here.."
Rosalee:"Oh Sylas, you must be so exhausted."
Monroe:"Is there anything we can do?"
I looked at them for a moment and when I was about to speak both of their faces changed which freaked me out causing me to jump up and run out of the coffee shop. The only place left to go was to Nick's so that's where I went.
I rushed inside the house to find both Nick and Hank in the kitchen,
Nick:"Sylas! I'm glad your okay, Sean called me. Where did you go?"
Me:"Nick I think I'm going crazy.."
Nick:"Whoa, what's going on? Your shaking like crazy."
Me:"Sean's face changed and I met with Rosalee and Monroe and their fucking faces changed too! What the hell is going on!?"
Nick:"It's time you actually sit down and listen to what I have to say. I need you to try to believe me okay?"
Me:"Okay.."
