Horror POV:
I was bored. I had written to my pen pal and was awaiting their reply. I sat in my room with my feet up against the wall.
A knock on my door brought me back to reality. I looked over to see Killer open the door.
"You got another letter, Crackhead." He said, tossing the envelope at me. I caught it. Killer closed the door and left.
He finally replied! We've always used fake names on these letters. I took out the letter and read it. He wrote about what has gone on his life recently and vented a little. He also wrote about how much he liked writing with me. I smiled at the letter. Whoever this guy was, he seemed really nice. I wanted to meet him. Maybe I could ask him in my next letter. I took my new letter and walked over to my desk. I put it beside the other letters from him scattered across my desk and floor. I studied the letter my pen pal sent me and began writing my own back to him. We'd been doing this for almost two years now. My friends/team were suspicious at first, especially Boss, but once they realized how happy it made me, they back ed off a little. Boss still asks to see the letters every now and then. He just wants to make sure they aren't some creep. I don't blame him. From the letters though, I can tell this person is no creep. They never asked me for any personal or inappropriate information. I swung my legs under my chair as I wrote my response. I told him about the past week and the missions and such. He didn't seem to care that much that I was a murderer. I whistled as I wrote. As I approached the end of the letter, I added a little extra bit.
Would you ever be up for meeting up sometime soon? I just found myself really wanting to meet you recently. How about Birdtale?
I smiled at it. I put my fake name at the bottom of the page and folded it in half. I opened a drawer on my desk and pulled out an envelope and then sealed up the letter. It takes about a week for the letters to go back and forth. We determined this earlier through the letters. I heard a knock on my door and I turned to see what it was.
"Horror! We're playing board games!" I heard Cross's voice from the other side. "Come join us! It's more fun with five people!" I stood up and walked over to the door and opened it.
"You got Boss to play?"
"Somehow Killer did. I swear he's magic. Come on!" Cross dashed down the hall and I followed, letter in hand.
We arrived in the living room to find Boss, Killer, and Dust all sitting around a game board. Boss turned to me and saw the letter in my hands.
"I can mail that for you. I'm heading down there tonight." He said.
"Thanks." I handed him the letter and he held it in one of his tentacles. "Also how did Killer manage to-"
"We do not talk about that." He interrupted.
We played board games for most of the evening, Boss, despite having barely played, winning most. After a bit, he left and said he'd mail my letter. I thanked him again. I practically skipped upstairs, I couldn't wait for his reply!
~One Week Later~
I sat by the door waiting for Dust. It was his turn to get the mail and I needed to know if I got a reply. I saw the door handle turn and the door opened a moment later to reveal Dust walking in.
"Did it come?!" I almost shouted. Dust looked stunned for a split second.
"Yeah. You seem excited." He handed me the latter and I ran off back to my room leaving a very confused Dust behind.
I tore it open as I arrived in my room. I scanned over the letter to the part I wanted.
That sounds amazing! I'd love to know who you are! I can do it xx/x/xx if you can. We can just meet up there. Meet me there at 10:30 am. I'll ask Bird if he minds. See you there!
I smiled at it. That was today! And it was currently 9:45 am. I smiled more. I went out to the main room of the castle, about to leave, when I saw Boss standing there.
"You need to tell me where your going and why you're so excited." He said.
"I'm going to meet me my pen pal." I replied. "I've got my axe, if things go south, I'm ready." Nightmare didn't move. Oh right, where. "Birdtale." He nodded and stepped out of the way.
"I expect you back by Four. If not we will come get you." He walked off after saying that.
I ran out of the castle and teleported off to Birdtale.
I walked around the backside of Snowdin and saw a skeleton waiting the alleyway beside Grillby's. I walked up to him. He appeared to be Lust. I knew of him. Seemed like there were always too many rumors about him.
"Hi." I said he turned to me and waved. "What're you doing here?"
"Waiting for my pen pal. They said they wanted to meet me." He replied with a sweet smile.
"Hey! That was me!" I said. "I came looking for my pen pal." We looked at each other, just kind of inspecting who we'd been writing to. "I'm Horror." I eventually said.
"Lust." I was right! He stood up and walked over to me. "You..." he trailed off. "You're okay with me, right? Even though I'm...ya know."
"I mean I'm a cannibal soo..." Lust laughed.
"I guess we both have reputations that proceed us."
I smiled at him.
Lust POV:
Horror gave me a toothy grin. I giggled again.
"Hey, do you think I could come over to you're place for the night? My au is...less than nice." I asked.
"Of course!" Horror replied happily. "The others bring people all the time, so Boss shouldn't mind."
"I forgot you work for the King of Negativity." I squeaked, suddenly remembering stories of the infamous leader of the Bad Sanses.
"It's okay. He may not seem like it, but Boss is a big softie." Horror whispered, causing me to laugh. I hugged him and he hugged back.
"You're a big softie too!" I said. Horror laughed and teleported us away.
We arrived outside of the Bad Sanses' castle. Horror must've noticed I was nervous, because he patted my back in a comforting way. I took a deep breath and we walked in. He led me to the living room and I sat on the couch. He walked to the hall.
"HEY! FRIENDS AND ACQUAINTANCE! GET DOWN HERE!" Horror shouted. He walked back over to me and sat beside me. Soon three other skeletons came down. Horror introduced them as Dust and Killer, the friends, and Cross, the acquaintance.
We started chatting. They were asking me questions about me and my au and I was answering to the best of my ability.
"Hey!" We all turned to see the goopy leader of the Bad Sanses himself, Nightmare. "What the hell is this?! You think you can just bring random people into our base?!" He stormed over and glared straight at me and Horror.
"Boss, this is my pen pal." Horror tried.
"You still can't just bring in random people!" Nightmare hissed.
"Calm down. It's fine." Dust said, rolling his eyes.
"No it is NOT!" Nightmare snapped back, stomping his foot. "If you all just start bringing in random people, we're going to die! And then..." Nightmare kept rambling and we just watched.
Then Killer got up and hugged him. He calmed down to just glaring at me in almost an instant. Then he hugged back and buried Im his face into Killer's shoulder.
"Aww." I said.
"Yeah, you're lucky he's in a good mood," Cross started "Or else you'd be dead." I froze for a second and scooted a bit closer to Horror, who laughed and wrapped an arm around my waist.
"How about we just play some games in here for the night?" Horror suggested, trying to change the subject.
"Sure!" Cross and I agreed. Killer pulled Nightmare off of him and soon we all started splaying board games.
A few hours later, we were still going. I was leaning on Horror's shoulder as we played. There was a blanket draped over us. I like it here. Nightmare wasn't as upset now, so it was more fun. We were playing a game in teams of two and I was getting sleepy. I snuggled into Horror's shoulder and began to drift off.
"I love you, big guy." I whispered. I felt Horror chuckled as I closed my eyes.
