Hail To The King. Part 1

The T29 swung around the wall and into the small plaza,

Right onto Hiroku's exposed rear flank.

"You're mine now.." Carm growled under his breath.

"Target! Dead ahea—" Carm started

He then froze,

He took a quick breath.

"REVERSE!!" He shouted.

In an instant, the giant tank switched direction and reversed

Without a second to spare.

*THWANNNNNNG

A shell smashed into the hull, and ricocheted off of the front armor.

If he hadn't reversed even a second later, his side would've been hit, and easily penetrated.

Carm whipped his head around,

A Centurion I laid in an ambush position.

The fifth grader.....

Carm chuckled a little.

This was supposed to be a trap, using Hiroku as bait.

Immediately once Hiroku realized that the trap was a failure, she reversed as fast as she could behind a ride.

The same happened with Alice, pulling behind cover, ready to prolong the fight.

Carm was alone, against two enemy tanks.

The circular shaped plaza was a cramped battleground for three of the deadliest World War II era tanks.

"Alright, let's see what you can do...." Carm said under his breath.

"Forwards,

Be ready to dodge left or right on my signal..." Carm said.

Hiroku's T34 heavy appeared, exposing her gun for a half-second.

"LEFT!" Carm shouted.

The right track stopped, swinging the T29 left with haste,

Just less than a second before the T34 fired.

*KA-BANNNG

The T34 fired, missing by mere inches of the rear running gear sprocket

Then immediately, Alice's Centurion exposed it's gun as well, this time from the opposite side.

Aiming for the flat rear of the T29's turret.

"RIGHT!" Carm then shouted.

Dan jerked the opposite steering stick.

Throwing the tank into a right spin,

"TRAVERSE LEFT!" Carm then shouted.

Gary immediately jammed the turret to the side,

*THWOONNNNGG

The turning of the turret created an angle too great for the Centurion's gun to penetrate.

They both then immediately retreated, using each other's attacks to buy each other time to relocate.

.....the Shimada style.....

The Nishizumi style failed to stop him in the 63rd National Tournament,

The Shimada style wouldn't stop him here.

Tried and tested war tactics were the way to go.

"Now" Carm thought

"What tactics would soldiers use if they were being attacked by hard to see enemies?"

"Pop smoke!"

The T29 wasn't equipped with any smoke grenade launchers, and it couldn't fire smoke shells.

But that is what the M15 White Phosphorus Smoke Grenade is for.

"I need some Willie Pete!" Carm shouted, pointing to a pouch in the corner of the turret.

———————

Willie Pete was the nickname that soldiers gave to White Phosphorus, the filler of the grenade that made the smokescreen.

It gained an infamous reputation as a weapon when it was figured out that it could be used as one since the filler burns at 2700 degrees Fahrenheit,

However, it was still allowed to only be used as a smokescreen device in Sensha-Dō.

———————

Lon got to work, fishing through all of the numerous different bits of equipment.

He yanked out two smoke grenades, each filled with white smoke.

He tore the pins out of both of them, throwing one to the right, and one to the left.

*POP! - HISSSSSSSSSSSSSS

One went off

*POP! - KSHHHHHHHH

The second went off, fumigating the center of the plaza with dense white smoke, obscuring his tank visually.

Even though breathing in the smoke could be dangerous to his health, Carm still had his M5 Gas Mask on.

"Reverse!" Carm then said.

The T29 reversed out of the dense smoke cloud,

Hiroku wasted no time spraying the smoke cloud with her Cannon and machine guns, trying to find him.

Exposing her position to the whole world,

"TRAVERSE LEFT!" Carm shouted.

The tank and turret both traversed left, spinning the turret at speed.

Carm caught sight of Hiroku's barrel sticking out of a concerted building on the edge of the plaza.

"ON!" Gary shouted.

"FIRE!" Carm blurted

"On the wa-"

*KABOOOOOOOOOOM!!

The 105mm shell streaked through the concrete building.

And then it's warhead exploded.

The concrete building started to collapse, sending bits of concrete and debris everywhere,

As well as blowing away the smokescreen.

Hiroku's tank emerged from the twisted wreckage, still intact.

She then charged straight at him, trying to revert to the Nishizumi style.

Instead of stitting there and shooting, Carm got to thinking again.

What was the proven tactic to defeat a recklessly charging enemy?

Flank them, the Germans at Stalingrad knew this too well.

The T29 spun to the left, and drove forwards as fast as it could, racing the T34's turret traverse.

The T29 plowed over plastic chairs and tables under its T80 tracks as it raced around.

Getting to within mere feet of the T34.

Alice then reared her ugly head, from on top of the hill near the side of the plaza.

Carm was an open target, completely side-on.

"TURN RIIIIIIGHT!" Carm shouted as loud as he could.

The tank violently shifted right, exposing the front of the turret to Alice.

Alice fired.

*BANG!

The 76mm shell from the Centurion streaked towards the T29.

*CRUUUNNNSSSSHHHHHH!!!

Carm got jolted it his seat, before immediately sticking his head out of the cupola, to see any damage.

The shell scraped right across the side of the turret, before smashing into one of the T29's rangefinder lenses.

He didn't need the rangefinder anyway....

Alice pulled back into cover again to dodge the T29's gun barrel.

Now, the T29 was mashed against the T34's back,

The T34 spun right on its axis to get the 120mm gun to bear on the T29.

The gun barrel spun around.

*KLANG!

It smashed into the side of the T29's turret.

*KABANNNNNNG

It fired, mere feet away from Carm's ears, the recoiling motion of the cannon scraping the side of the T29's cast-steel turret.

Carm's ears rung like the devil, but the Sensha-Dō propellant was much quieter than normal propellant.

The ringing stopped, just as Alice exposed herself again.

"DRIVER! Forwards!" Carm shouted.

The T29 pulled forwards, exposing the side of the T34, daring Alice to shoot at the two brawling tanks.

One missed shot, and Alice could knock Hiroku out.

(Battle of Stalingrad, German artillery and bombers couldn't attack the Soviet troops because the German and Soviet lines were so close to each other.)

The T29 raced around the T34, trying to stay on top of it at all times.

The Centurion made its way down to get closer and hopefully get a shot,

Carm saw this development, by the corner of his eye.

The Centurion raced closer,

The 17 Pounder gun turned on its axis,

And then, Carm hopped from staying on the T34, breaking away to the Centurion.

Both enemy tanks brought their guns to bear on the Americans

"Turn riggggghhht.... NOW!" Carm shouted.

The T29 turned slightly to the right.

*BANG!

*BANG!

*THWOOONNNNG

*PSKKKIIINNNNG!

The T29 ricocheted both shells by pure angling alone, seemingly being fueled by luck, and excellent reaction times.

The T29 barreled closer to the Centurion,

The Centurion revved it's Meteor engine, and took off at full speed.

While the Centurion had excellent acceleration, the speed was actually quite lacking, and the T29 was able to keep up.

The T29 gave chase to the Centurion, and the T34 gave chase to the T29, sandwiching the Americans in the middle.

The T29 turned its turret backwards, pointing its main gun at the T34.

Ralph opened fire with a barrage of 30.06 ammo from the pintle machine gun at the Centurion.

The tanks swerved back and forth, trying to make each other a difficult target for the other.

The T34 opened up with its .50 Caliber Coaxial guns, aiming for the tracks.

The T29 did the same.

Even though they could shoot, the debris in their way made aiming for a single point a hard target.

Bullets glanced off armor, with only a few bullets actually hitting the tracks.

Frustrated, Hiroku opened fire with her 120mm cannon, bumping over a damaged track as it did so.

The shell went high, once again bouncing off of the turret, and flinging off to the side

Carm was busy focused on Hiroku, before Ralph yelled.

"Heads up!" He shouted.

Alice's Centurion began to drift on the spot, throwing its 76mm gun around,

Hiroku just fired...

"Traverse the turret!" Carm shouted.

The 105mm gun began to swing around.

And then.

*FWOOOOOOAM!

A rocket (a V2 Rocket to be precise) zoomed overhead.

———————

Little did they know, Hiroku's shell that bounced off the T29s turret just recently landed almost on top of the V2 rocket ride, setting the engine off.

—————————

Carm, Hiroku, and Alice watched as the rocket soared overhead.

Before the rocket soared into a swing ride, themed around a Pajandrum rocket-propelled rolling mine.

The swing ride toppled over,

The top part started rolling like a giant wheel.

Trapping the Centurion driving backwards, facing the T29, and the T34 still behind them.

They then all barreled into a tunnel

Alice trying Desperately to evade getting crushed under the American's treads.

Hiroku attempted to bring her gun barrel to bear, but the length meant that it was impossible.

The three tanks then zoomed out of the tunnel.

Hiroku peeled off of the T29's rear,

The T29 stayed firmly on the Centurion, which whipped back around to a forwards facing position.

Hiroku kept trying to get a shot, but the T29 was too difficult of a target, zooming past cover, with a minor miscalculation enough to eliminate Alice, and probably get her expelled.

Hiroku didn't bother with reason, however,

"FIRE!!" She shouted.

—————————

Carm looked to the side, seeing the T34 getting ready to shoot.

"BRAKES!" He shouted.

The T29 stopped so hard that the front of the tank angled downwards.

The shell passed inches in front of the hull.

It zoomed and then exploded in a crimson fireball.

Carm looked up,

Alice's gun was pointed directly at his tank,

Carm was about to scream, but the something unexpected happened.

A Boko ride on, got in between the middle of the two tanks.

Carm blinked a little, this was the last thing he expected to happen.

He growled, and then shook his head.

"FORWARDS!" He shouted.

Dan responded with full forward throttle.

*KRIICHUNCH!

Alice watched in peaked horror as the T29's tracks practically consumed Boko, spitting out metal and bits of plastic remains.
