Summary: Steve goes back to place the infinity stones back where they came from. Little does Alena know he will come back with a surprise.
,,Be careful, alright. See you in a minute"
Alena sighed, hugging her father for goodbye.
The battle was over, Thanos and his army dead, Tony sacrificed and now it was time to bring the infinity stones back to their original time line.
Steve had volunteered to do it as long as he promised Alena not to do anything stupid.
,,See you in a minute, little light"
The super soldier replied, holding his daughter close.
,,Okay Steve, are you ready?"
Bruce inquired, his arm still in the armsling from the snap that brought everyone back.
Steve nodded, picked up the suitcase that contained the stones and stood on the time machine.
,,Going quantum in 3...2...1..."
Bruce announced, and before they knew it, Steve vanished.
Alena stood nervously, waiting for him to return. Last time they time travelled, she lost her mother. What if this time it was her dad to die?
,,And returning in 3...2...1..."
She heard Bruce's voice, but nothing happened.
This put the 19 year old in a panic.
,,What's wrong? Why isn't he returning?"
She inquired, her voice starting to shake and her nails digging into her skin.
,,I don't know, there's more mass than before. Let's try again"
Bruce admitted, before starting another return attempt.
,,Bring him back, you have to bring him back. Bruce I'm serious, he can't be trapped"
Alena panicked, rushing to Bruce's side to see what he was doing.
,,Returning take two in 3...2...1..."
The doctor counted and this time, something materialised.
What or more specifically who it was, let everyone think they were hallucinating.
Alena had to do a double take to make sure her eyes weren't deceiving her.
Steve was back, looking just the same as when he vanished 2 minutes ago. He had a smile on his face because next to him stood another person, a woman to be exact.
,,M-Mama?"
The word left Alenas lips in a stutter.
In front of her stood her mother, alive and well, her red hair still in the braid she had when they were on vormir. She looked unharmed, even well.
,,мало света (little light)"
The assasin replied, a smile playing on her face.
Alena practically flew into her mothers arms.
,,You were dead, Mama, I lost you, I saw you die"
The 19 year old sobbed into her mothers shoulder. She was overwhelmed with emotions.
,,I'm here, мой маленький свет, я хорошо (my little light, I'm well)"
Natasha soothed, stroking her daughters all to familiar hair.
,,But how? I thought it was everlasting, I thought you couldn't be saved"
Alena questioned, tears still streaming down her face.
Steve now butted in.
,,When I gave the stone back, the exchange was undone. We found a hole in the contract, a hole in time if you will. That's how I managed to bring her back"
The supersoldier elaborated.
Turns out, it was all part of a big plan. The time heist all over again, just this time on a mission to bring the one person back, that Alena loved more than anyone else; Natasha.
,,It was necessary for the whole plan to work. To bring everyone back, to defeat thanos. I had to make the sacrifice, мало света (little light), I'm sorry"
Natasha explained, her hands cupping Alenas face.
,,I'm glad you're back, Mama"
The younger redhead choked, pressing herself against her mother.
,,Oh, мало света (little light)"
The assasin sighed, her arms wrapping tightly around the 19 year old.
The world was alright again, at least for that moment. Though many other sacrifices were made, the most hurtful one for Alena was undone.
I guess after all, fate can be reversed.
