Ever since the attempted confession, things between you and Minho were a little awkward. But it sort of gave you a little closure knowing why he had been caring so much about your well-being.
However, you had a new thing to worry about.
A prom dress.
"Seungkwan- it's the day of prom and I don't even have a prom dress yet!" you exclaimed, instantly covering your mouth from how loud your voice managed to be.
Seungkwan shushed you, putting his own hand over yours.
"That's why we're here at the store," Seungkwan tried calming you down, patting the top of your head with you under his arm.
You huffed out, shoving his arm off of you. You had a short fuse lately, and understandably. You were so confused about the sudden confession by your best friend. But you didn't want to ask if it was a date or not because you didn't want it to be even more awkward if it wasn't. God, why does everything have to be so confusing?
"Oh!" Seungkwan exclaimed, his face lighting up with a smile as he pulled a sparkly, deep sea blue dress off of a rack. "You like blue,"
You turned to look at the dress your friend held. You hated that he already picked out a dress you liked. You were secretly wishing that you couldn't find a dress so you didn't have to go to prom and embarrass yourself further. Especially after the situation with Minho in the classroom the other day.
Seungkwan pushed the hanger toward you.
"Try it on," he insisted but you shook your head.
"I don't know..."
Seungkwan rolled his eyes and folded the dress, placing it over your shoulder.
"I'm not asking for excuses," he crossed his arms sassily. "If you are going to this prom date, you're going to need to look gorgeous."
You gave Seungkwan a look before taking the dress off of your shoulder to look at it closer. It truly was a pretty dress. Even better, it was satin.
"Seungkwan-"
"Go change or I'll hit you with my sandal," Seungkwan cut you off, suddenly getting serious as he reached for his slides on his foot.
You rolled your eyes and turned around, heading over to the dressing room past other aisles full of dresses.
After debating between three dresses you really liked, you chose a different satin dress. It was a seashell color (light shade of pink mixed with off-white) that would compliment your skin tone beautifully. Seungkwan wouldn't stop complimenting your figure in the dress because of how perfectly it snugged your body. Especially your hips and waist.
You matched the dress with a pair of white stilettos you'd have to learn to walk in before you arrive at prom.
Hours later, you and Minho arrived at school where prom was being held. There were so many gorgeous girls there in beautiful dresses that consisted of many different colors. You couldn't help but wonder why Minho didn't say yes to those previous three girls and brought you instead. They seemed much prettier and better than you in multiple ways. Why you?
You sat down at a table where Seungkwan and Dino were, his friend whom he went with since neither of them could find a date in time.
"Looking dapper," you complimented neither of them in particular.
Seungkwan sat tall in his seat, shrugging his shoulders to adjust his suit.
"Thank you, Y/n-"
"She was talking to me, Silly," Dino said with a laugh. He patted Seungkwan's shoulder but he was quick to shove it off.
Seungkwan shifted in his seat and shot Dino a glare.
"Don't be ridiculous, she was looking straight at me," Seungkwan argued, his body now fully facing Dino who sat in the chair next to him.
You sat there staring at the two, completely unfazed to say the least. They rarely ever not argue. It's an everyday thing. Usually if they aren't arguing, it's annoying the hell out of each other.
Minho appeared beside you, not sparing any attention to Dino or Seungkwan still arguing to your right. You looked up as his hand came out towards you, an invitation for you to hold it.
"Want to dance?" Minho asked with a slight grin sliding across his lips.
You glanced past his arm toward the crowded dance floor. You didn't want to disappoint Minho by saying no, but then again, you really didn't want to bump into Seoha and deal with her on prom night.
Minho noticed your unsure expression and took your hand, catching you by surprise. Your eyes shot up to meet his.
"I have an idea. Come with me," Minho said quickly, giving you no time to protest as he dragged you past people out of the gymnasium.
You were having a debate with yourself. You should talk to Minho about the situation from a couple of days ago. It was wrong to leave it alone and ignore it like it never happened. But at the same time, you felt as though if you did bring it up it would make the situation worse. You didn't want to make yourself look like a fool of Minho was just joking around. Which he was...right?
A gust of cold wind suddenly spread goosebumps all over your body. Minho walked across the roof, his hand not once faltering its hold on yours. You were curious as to what he was doing up here with you instead of talking with his other friends down where prom was.
Minho stood and faced you. Both of his hands now holding yours between your bodies. Was now the right time to admire how handsome he looked?
His sharp features were softened due to the moonlight angled on the both of you, only illuminating one side of his face. He was truly charming to look at. A smile crept across his lips as his thumbs lightly rubbed the back of your hands. You snapped out of the trance his visual had on you.
"What are we doing up here? Don't you want to talk with Chan or Jungwoo?" you inquired, suddenly feeling weird for keeping eye contact with Minho for so long.
Minho let out a small laugh and threw his head back at the sky. You looked at him with confusion.
"How blind could you possibly be, Y/n?" Minho asked with a sigh, looking back down at you with impatience. His hands reached the sides of your face and cupped your cheeks gently.
Despite the cold, you felt your body and face warming up within seconds. Was Minho crazy or something?
"How about that first kiss, huh?" Minho tilted his head.
You swallowed. All this time your mind has been so determined on convincing itself that Minho was just putting up an act because of what Seoha was saying. You thought he was just entertaining her. But now you realized there's no way he would do that. He must care for you too much.
He likes you.
"Don't worry. Just follow my lead, okay? I'll go slow,"
Minho's reassuring words were more than enough for you to gain the confidence and create the most perfect, serene first kiss you could have ever asked for.
If only you weren't so blind to have seen this the first time you and Minho exchanged glances the day you met.
*IMPORTANT*
A/n: I have a very serious announcement that I regret to inform you of. Recently I've been sort of wanting to stop writing imagines or at least take a break. Mainly because I feel like it's making me "grow" out of Stray Kids and I don't want that at all. They've made me feel so much better about myself ever since I discovered them.
But this is also a break for my mental health because I've been dealing with a lot of personal stuff over the past few weeks. The pressure of writing and coming up with different ideas for imagines for you guys is a lot to deal with right now and I apologize sincerely for not letting you know sooner.
Although I'm going to be taking a break from this imagines series, I do have an original hockey story I am currently working on and will continue working on when I have the time. It's going to be a little tacky since I'm going to try my best to write a good first story with a plot.
I really hope you all understand where I'm coming from. These boys are real people and idk, it feels weird writing these things with their names in it, you know? It might be better if I end the imagines story here and continue with another book if I decide to in the future.
Thank you so much, I love each and every single one of you. Thank you for reading this imagined book. I hope you enjoyed it.
