Part - 53 Tank Heaven

All four tanks were immobile since practice,

Luckily, the internal computer was set to pop-up the white flag after one shot, so they could easily still work.

This also allowed the recovery vehicles to be tested, and they worked very fine indeed.

But the second he showed his face, he was completely surrounded by fans, cameras, people wanting autographs, etc.

This is all kinda strange when you're literally asked to take pictures with people older than you.

Also, there was MERCHANDISE.

EVERYWHERE.

Saunders usually has a bunch of trucks that go around to all of their matches that provide things like food, concessions, and whatnot.

But the only thing is, now you have a whole COUNTRY trying to publicize YOU, so they can boost recruitment numbers.

And for an Army that wasn't meeting its goals as of late in terms of raw numbers, they were trying to push the recruitment narrative HARD.

There wasn't a few small trucks, instead there was full eighteen wheelers, that had all manner of decals showcasing soldiers and tanks as well as other masculine machinery.

Entire merchandise trucks were set up, selling all manner of things with the "King Cobra" name and probably a T29 or a snake slapped onto it.

Shirts, hats, drinking cups, little model tanks. That stuff.

As well as other sponsored things.

There were also food trucks and a lot of tents were Army, Marine and other recruiters were sitting.

They even dumped some things like full-size Stryker wheeled IFVs, LAV-25s, and M2 Bradley tracked IFVs to make the Armed forces look more attractive.

But the apple of the eye was the M1A2 Abrams Main battle tank they had parked in the center of the hordes of trucks that you could take pictures in front of, next to giant posters that say things like "Go Army" on them.

Its kind of weird to see your own face be a brand.

Also, a lot of people around weren't even JAPANESE.

Apparently, practically all overseas flights to Hokkaido were booked to oblivion.

Meaning this was the single largest Sensha-dō match ever recorded, with some 300 THOUSAND people showing up from all over the world to see it.

And 75% of that audience was foreign,

The countries involved were not just the countries the boys hailed from, not at all.

There were people from most of Europe, the Philippines, New Zealand, India, South Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and many others.

One of the main attractions, however was, believe it or not, the TANK MUSEUM made exhibits, even though it was based in just about the furthest place away from Japan.

They brought a large selection of their popular tanks, because it was probably a wise idea to bring these iconic tanks to the area, where the largest event of any tank sport was happening.

Mind you, the tanks they brought included the legendary tank Tiger 131, as in the SOLE DRIVING ORIGINAL TIGER I ITSELF.

In fact, that was exactly where Yukari was.

She was practically having a seizure just looking at it.

Because if you ever showed her a normal tank, she'd fly into a rant on just about everything on it.

If you showed her Tiger 131 however.....

She was in the mother of all Panzer highs.

Flying into an all out and out obsessive data expulsion session.

Also, she must've taken AT LEAST fifty pictures of it.

Carm approached her from behind,

"Ohmygoshistillcantbelievethisisactuallyreal!!" She said so fast in an almost unintelligible fashion.

"I must be dreaming!" She yelled out all of a sudden

She pinched her arm.

"YAHOOO! I didn't wake up!" She squealed in glee.

Carm tapped her shoulder

"Hey, uh, do you think there's a Sabaton area anywher—" Carm said.

"Wah!—" she jumped in startlement.

She spun her head around.

"O-oh, it's you!" She said in a slightly relieved tone.

"Yeah, did I scare you?" Carm said.

"Uh...."

"Hey, do you know if there like a Sabaton tent or something?" Carm said.

"I don't think so, I certainly haven't seen one." Yukari said.

Carm's expression deflated,

"Oh.....

Carm sighed in an annoyed way.

Well, never mind that for now, we need to get ready.

I tracks roll out in thirty minutes." Carm said.

"Uh, okay, but can I stay here to see the Tiger.... Pleasssssse!" Yukari said with puppy dog eyes.

Carm blinked.

"Why do you want to stay here so bad, sure Tiger I's are cool tanks and all, but we gotta-

Carm saw the number on the side of the Tiger I's turret.

-Is that a 131 on that tank's side?" Carm said

"Yup!" Yukari said gleefully.

Carm breathed in,

"Perhaps we can stay a while...." Carm said.
