In which you make a promise to her
Listen to: Out Like a Light - The Honeysticks
There was something about sneaking around to see your super secret girlfriend. Admittedly, you wish you can show her off, but you both are very famous people. You don't want to risk anyone's safety. She was an actress, you were a very well known athlete. You were also a nepotism baby. Yay!
It wasn't like you didn't build your way up. Without your dad, you wouldn't be as well known as you are, but you've built part of your way up. You put in the work and the training to be one of the best athletes, your dad put in words and got people to put you in some shows and movies.
I mean, without your dad, you wouldn't have met Jenna. There was a party, you had shown up, running into her. You had known of her existence, loving her filmography. She had known of you through your dad and the Olympics.
You both had hit it off, sneaking out of the party just to go hang out. You found yourself falling for the shorter girl, hard and quick. You both just snuck around, enjoying the feeling of being free and alone together, no one to recognize either of you and forget about who you truly are.
To the public, you were just you, a famous athlete, daughter of famous politician. She was Jenna Ortega, famous actress, well known from her new show Wednesday. There was no way they could connect you two without going through a whole rabbit hole.
This is where we find you. Bouncing your knee, anticipating an end to this god-awful dinner. Your dad forced you into a dress, saying that there were people to impress. One of your friends, Maria-Olympia, a princess from Greece and Denmark, had noticed your eagerness to leave. She leaned to you. "Why are you so bouncy?"
You just glanced to the girl beside you, you bit your lip. "I wanna leave."
"God, me too." You raised your eyebrows, an idea coming to your mind. "Oh no, I know that look. What is it?"
"I need your help to sneak me out." You looked around at the dinner table. Your eyes landed on Achileas-Andreas, a prince from Greece and Denmark, also Maria's brother, there were rumors that the two of you were dating, so, your father brought him along, just to fire up press. He was cute, but not for you. "Tell your brother to cover for me."
"You tell him yourself!" You side-eyed her, walking over to the boy.
You leaned by his ear, so that only he can hear you. "I need you to help me."
He just smiled at the men, then answered you. "What's up?"
"Just come with me." The two of you excused yourselves, causing a few wolf-noises, and cheers. Achileas knew you weren't into him, and frankly, he had a girlfriend. You both stopped at one of the rooms, one with an easy exit.
"Are you okay?" He asked, a little concerned for you.
You just smiled and nodded. You glanced at the clock on the wall, it was almost time for you to meet up with Jenna. "I just need you to cover for me, I need to meet up with someone."
A smug smile came onto his face. "A boy? Let me guess! One of the Chatto brothers?" You just let out a small laugh shaking your head.
"No, a girl." You told him. "Just keep it a secret, no one knows." He let out a gasp.
"I didn't know you liked girls. Let me guess! Give me a hint!" He persisted, your eyes widened. It made you happy that he was treating this as if it was normal. If it were your dad, he would've ended Jenna's career, not wanting anything about the two of you getting leaked to the press.
"Promise you'll keep this a secret?" You wanted to make sure that he wouldn't spill, you knew him, but still. He nodded, holding up a pinky.
"Pinky promise." You stared at his hand, a weird smile on your face. The two of you locked pinkies. You pulled away to make sure your makeup was good, you reapplied your lip gloss, seeing as it came off as you kept on biting your lip out of anxiousness. "I'm sure she thinks you look perfect, because you do look perfect." You smiled at him, giving him a hug.
"She's an actress." He started to name different actresses that the two of you knew. He kept on trying to guess who it was, but you noticed that you had to leave. You grabbed his hands to make him pause. "I'll tell you later, but thanks for covering for me." You gave him a kiss on the cheek, leaving a slight mark. You managed to get out of the house without anyone knowing or noticing.
You walked down the streets, the warm summer air started to get taken over by the cool wind of the night. You zoned out, thinking about Jenna. You were so sucked into your own thoughts, that you realized that you were at the spot.
It was a small park, barely any lights, and it was empty. This was where the two of you hung out for the first time, where you realized you had caught feelings. You smiled softly at the memory. "No way, is that the y/n?" You turned around in fear, thinking someone had recognized you, but it was only your dorky girlfriend. You let out a breathy smile.
"You scared the shit out of me." You mumbled, grabbing Jenna's collar and kissed her. You felt her smile into the kiss, relaxing into you. You felt her pull away, but not all the way. "I thought you weren't going to show up." Your words fanned over her lips.
"I wouldn't do that." She pecked your lips once more, she intertwined your fingers and clung to your arm. The two of you started walking around, heading to a more secluded part of the park. It was like a garden, but it was hard to find if you weren't looking for it. The hedges were tall and thick, easily covering the two of you from anyone else. "I hear that you're dating a prince now?" She teased, making you roll your eyes. The two of you sat onto a bench, admiring the dark yet beautiful view. The sun was setting, the fountain was still running, making the garden look vibrant.
"Yes! I'm so in love with him! I'd much rather a man, who has a girlfriend, over my beautiful and amazing Jenna Ortega." You fawned, playfully. She just giggled at you, kissing you once more. This time you deepened it, pushing her more onto the bench.
It started to get heated, it took it's time from being passionate to being slightly sloppy. You went from her lips to her cheeks to her neck. You heard her gasp, making you smirk. You sucked onto her collarbone, leaving marks. "Not here, y/n." She whispered, you let out a low groan, moving back to her lips.
The two of you continued to make out, leaving the two of you a mess. You both had lip-gloss and lipstick all over your faces, small marks low on your necks. You helped each other wipe the lip marks off, reapplying it to make it seem as if nothing happened. You even played music on your phone, easing the tension.
She leaned onto you, watching as the fountain got darker, the sun lowering. You enjoyed times like these, where it was just the two of you. When it was just you and Jenna, you could say anything that was on your mind. You glanced at the time, noticing that Achileas was texting for you to come back.
You nudged your girlfriend. "I have to go." She let out small complaints, not wanting this moment to end. You remembered that you got her something. "Here, before I go, I just wanted to give you something." You pulled out a ring, it was simple yet stunning.
"You aren't asking me to marry you, right?" She panicked, which made you chuckle.
You shook your head, easing her nerves. "No, as much as I would love to run off with you and get married in Iceland, this is not a marriage proposal." You held onto her hand, your heart pounding and butterflies went around your stomach. "It's like a promise ring. I promise to love you, and have you, for as long as you want me to." She smiled, slipping the ring onto her finger.
"Then I promise to love you and have you, for as long as you want me too, as well." She pulled you in for a kiss. You pulled away, needing to go.
"I need to head out, or my dad will kill me. I love you." You rang out, speed-walking back to the dinner party. Her gaze lingered on you, a lovestruck smile on both of your faces.
Achileas and Maria helped you back in, smug smiles on their faces. Once you got settled, you looked at them with an eyebrow raised. "Is there something wrong?" Maria motioned for your neck, making you look into the mirror. There were dark marks all over the base of your neck. "Shit!" You cursed.
"Someone had a good time." The boy teased, poking your side. You groaned, grabbing some make up and covering up the hickeys. The two teased you as you covered yourself.
"Does this look like anything suspicious?" You asked, scared of what your dad might notice. You loved that man, but boy does he scare you. The both shook their heads. "Okay, sick, let's get back then?"
The three of you managed to slither back into the dinner party, acting as if nothing happened. Your dad was too busy talking to other powerful bodies to notice you leaving and coming back. You mingled with the other people, the thought of you and Jenna getting married lingering in your head.
"So, that Ortega girl?" Maria whispered, coming up from behind you. You jumped, shushing the girl.
"How did you figure it out?" You had your voice low.
She just shrugged. "Come on, tell me what happened!" She urged you for details. You rolled your eyes.
"I just- we just hung out. I gave her a ring-"
"What?" She exclaimed, a shocked look on her face. The yelling caught the stares of a few people. You reassured them that it was okay before going back to your conversation with the princess.
"Promise ring." You explained. "We had been together for like 3 years, I needed something there." You kept on thinking about Jenna and you getting married, it felt as if it was inevitable. What would you do without her? Who could you love more than her?
