Leah is living that very New York vibe right now in her life and I'm happy for her. Me? Still the LA city girl. But I do enjoy the New York life here and there whenever I'm out there. I love the LA life too. But I know Leah loves the New York life like a lot. She sends me pictures daily of what she's doing. Today she sent me a picture of her computer and coffee as she's sitting by the window with snow falling outside. Such a vibe. I sent her a picture of me in traffic. Later at night, a Friday night, she called me on FaceTime.
"Hi!" I said happily as I see her sitting on the bed and I'm sure she's using her laptop to FaceTime me by the way her camera is. I'm using mine too but I'm in the kitchen.
"Hiii babe. What's for dinner?" She asks.
"Soup dumplings and fried rice" I smile
"Yummm. Your hair looks so cute. You look cute!" she says. My hair is up in a claw clip and I'm wearing a cropped tank top and cotton sweat shorts along with a pair of black glasses.
"Thanks. I rarely wear this style but I like it."
"I know I'm in love" she says. I shake my head and walk away from the computer to continue making my food.
"How's work?" I asked. "Good. I have another event coming up on Thursday night. Me and Des have been so excited but we found out last minute so I have absolutely no idea what I want to wear"
"What's Des going to wear?" I asked.
"She said she might wear a backless short dress."
"Mm"
I know she's her coworker but it's weird to me knowing Leah is going to be around another girl most of her life at the moment. I mean she's with a few every day at work but she's also independent there. But her and Des work a lot together. Not that I think anything will happen. I'm just so used to Leah being always with me. I'm the girl she's always with. Now I'm not.. hopefully she doesn't think of me differently. Getting to know more girls and seeing there's other girls more prettier than me or a better personality than me. But I mean she said she fell in love with my personality. Ugh. I'm over thinking.
Throughout the night we stayed on the call til we even fell asleep.
Later in the week, Thursday, Leah had called me right when I clocked out of work. I'm driving home as she was getting ready for the event.
"Damn I'm running out of the lipgloss you bought for me. I need to buy more."
"Oh no! Yeah buy more that one is super cute on you"
Once I got home, she was almost done with her hair.
"So does this mean you're going to be meeting influencers?" I asked her.
"Yeees"
She put on a white off the shoulder body fit dress that cuts five inches above her knees so it was pretty short.
"Hair up or in a ponytail? Or down?" She asks as she does a spin.
"You look beautiful babe" I said. "Heh thanks..."
I just stared.
"My hair!" She says. "Oh! Up in a mid ponytail" I tell her. She loves me styling her.
"Perfect" she said and put it up.
"Please take pictures tonight" I tell her. "You know I will. Im going to pick up Des then I'll be on the way."
"You're picking her up?"
"Yeah!"
"Why?"
"Sooo we can go together? Im shy. I'll look like a lost puppy when I get there hahaha"
"Oh. I see ha.."
"Mimi baby say hi to mommy" she says and holds her to the camera. "Hi baby" I said sweetly.
"She misses you"
"I miss her.."
She gives her a kiss then puts her back down.
"Are you sure you wanna pick her up? We've had sex in there a lot. Imagine someone drives you in the car they had sex in" I said.
"We got the car detailed before it shipped here remember?? Everything's clean" she says. "Yeah but.."
"I'm picking her up Jennifer. Everything will be fine. I promise. I love you I have to go"
"Okay.."
"I love you" she says again. "Love you" I responded.
"Jen.."
"What?" I ask with sass.
"I love you!"
"I love you too" I said. She giggles. We said our goodbyes and hung up.

The next morning, I woke up so tired and dreading to go to work. I only slept for an hour. I couldn't sleep at all and I was texting Leah here and there. She only has a half day today since she had that event last night. I probably annoyed her but I don't know why I couldn't sleep.
I drive over to Starbucks on my way to work and went through the drive through. The line looked short so I thought I would be okay. But after 10 minutes pass by, I'm barely ordering.
"I am so going to be late" I texted Leah.
"Why?"
"This damn line at Starbucks won't budge"
"Oh no. I'm sorry :("
I didn't respond and continued to wait. But then I hear my phone chime and see that she sent me money.
"You didn't have to" I responded
"I know but I wish I can do something. Like make the line go faster lol. Use that for your lunch too since you didn't have time to pack any!"
"Thanks. I love you 💗"
"I love you so much. Today will go by smoothly! Don't let anything ruin it"
"When is your next flight here?"
"I'm not sure cause there's so many events going on lately."
"Oh okay"
"Can you come here?"
"Not any weekend the rest of the month. It's my moms birthday celebration that I wish you can come to. Tyler's hosting a party for his man the next weekend. And then a photo shoot the next"
"Photo shoot??"
"Uh..yeah.."
"Oh okay"
"You forgot"
"Im sorry!"
"It's okay. I know you have a lot going on"
"I do but I want to make it up to you"
"You don't have to Lee don't worry. I'll let you know how it goes though okay?"
"Okay. And I actually have your moms gift delivering this week to the house. Can you give it to her?"
"Yeah. What did you get her?"
"A gucci bag! And flowers!"
"What?? Really?"
"Yeah. Lol I know.. thought I'd make a big purchase for her"
"Wow..thank you babe seriously. She'll love it"
"I hope so. But can you do me a favor and have it in a gift bag? Please! I'll send you what I want to put as the note inside."
"Yes of course"
"Thank you babe"
It sucks that me and her are distanced. We still talk everyday but I don't see her in person everyday. A lot of my personal life doesn't involve her as much any more. But she did mention that our lives now is basically almost how it was before we got further into our relationship.

Leah's POV
It's the next month. I'm at home just sitting in my living room with Mimi as we were watching a movie. Jennifer and I just finished talking on the phone shortly. She was just running errands. I have nothing planned today but a press to go to tomorrow for a movie coming up. I'm just someone who got invited. This time I'm going alone which is pretty scary but I guess I can meet more people.
Anyways, I haven't been feeling my best. I think the homesickness is kicking in.. Jennifer's been so busy that I haven't talked to her as much as usual. So of course I miss her and the life back at home. This decision I made for this job was spontaneous but also a dream to work with this company. I'm really happy here but I wish I were here with Jennifer. Being able to come home to her was the best thing I've got to experience while it lasted. Now it's hard for us both to even find time for each other since we live across the country from each other.
Two weekends ago she had went to Tyler's house for a party. It wasn't crazy. Just their close friends and drinking. But we kind of got in an argument while she was a little drunk. We were on the phone for almost two hours while she was in her bedroom at Tyler's house. Most of the argument was about us being long distant. But it started off about her being drunk and mixing and taking a few hits of their friends pen. And we both talked about not getting crossed unless we're together because it gets messy. Yet she still did it. But after the argument, we were silent for a bit on the phone and deescalated it. She even apologized while crying. And I hated it because why should she cry? We wouldn't even have had that argument if we were together in person. I would've taken care of her or the other way around. And I'm sure she drank more just cause I wasn't there with her. She wanted to have fun. I get it. But I couldn't stay mad at her. Towards the end she was getting a bit sober and apologized. I specifically remember her saying "please don't break off our engagement" and it scared me a little because the fact that she even thought about that. After what happened last time when I left her..I cant deal with that again.
But anyways..
We're okay now. I'm really trying to find a flight to go over there. Even if it's just for a day. I need her presence.

I'm at a dinner with a bunch of people who came from the press. Not everyone but a lot. It was a last minute decision for us to get together. There's always that one person you tag along with the most after one day and today I'm spending a lot of time with a social media manager. His name is Thomas. I looked through his Instagram and he looks really fun. He goes to a lot more events than I do and knows a lot of people. He's even verified. And he's been making me feel more comfortable being here cause I was really shy.
"Wanna try?" He asks pointing to his alfredo pasta. "Oh, sure!" I said and I was looking for a fork to use since my fork had food on it but he just used his fork and pointed it my way. I just went with it but used my teeth to pull the food off so my mouth wouldn't touch the actual fork. "Oh wow. So tasty! It's good."
"Right?" He giggled. "My fiancé loved alfredo pasta. She would've loved that"
"Who wouldn't love it?"
I chuckled and continued to eat. We talked the rest of the night with the others and bonded. Took some pictures then separated ways from there.
As I drive home, Jennifer called me.
"Babe" she says.
"Yeah?"
"You look so pretty in the pictures you posted on your story"
"Oh thank you. I threw on this outfit so fast. I thought it would look bad. And light makeup"
"I love it"
"Thanks. What are you up to so late?"
"I was just thinking about you but didn't want to interrupt til you were done"
"Haha you made sure to call me right when I left"
"Duh. I miss you. Like a lot. It's unhealthy" she says. "I miss you!"
"So when are you coming here?!"
"Jen.."
"I know you can next weekend"
"I have so much going on"
"But you can't spend time-... nevermind" she stops herself and stays quiet.
"Baby..I'm sorry. But at least FaceTime is a thing. I can see you everyday"
She sighs loudly.
"When are we getting married? We were supposed to talk about prep for it.." she says.
"I know. It's the time difference. I wanted us to talk about it every day after I'm off. But you're tired by then. And our weekends are booked."
She kept quiet.
I get to my apartment while we were still on the phone.
"Mimi I'm home!" I said out loud and she runs up to me with warm kisses.
"What if we don't get married Leah" she says randomly and I stopped. "What?"
"I'm worried.."
"Why? No don't worry. It's going to happen."
"But when? We barely have time to even see each other. I work over time a lot and you have so many events that you have to attend."
"There is that event with Victoria's Secret that I have to go to and they had invited you too remember?"
"But that's at the end of the month leah"
"Jennifer. Please. The wedding will happen. Even if it has to get pushed back that's fine. Everyone pushes weddings back. We haven't even made a set date."
"But..I don't want to push it back that's why I proposed to you so soon." She says.
"Well.. that gives us more time"
"More time for what?"
"To..plan"
"Why don't we just get married in a chapel" Jen asked.
"No.. I want us to have a wedding. It'll be so beautiful. All the dancing, the memories with the family and friends. And after.."
"Ugh..see that's why I want us to plan already!"
I kept quiet.
"We've been arguing more lately too Lee"
"I know"
"What do we do?"
"Nothing. We live through it cause it'll be worth it at the end"
"At the end of what Leah. Where do you see us in like a year? Think about that. Still here distant living?"
I honestly don't know where I see our life at. I know I want us married already but the whole job situation is so hard for us to situate our personal life. I'm sure something will come up. I just don't know what. I just hope things will be better. There's just too much that goes on in our lives.
