"My baby is sound asleep." I said rocking Daylen.
"Babe you know I start my classes in a couple weeks right so you need to make sure you're here."
"Fuck that mean?" He asked with an attitude.
"Because you can't just be staying out in the streets with Durk and your friends we have our son now babe."
"You telling me this shit like ion know what I gotta do for my son I know what the fuck I gotta do gang." He said.
"I'm just saying Dayvon." I said speaking softly.
"You ain't gotta say shit at all."
"I-I don't wanna fuss about this Dayvon."
"I just want you to be here for your-.."
Before I could say anything else he wrapped his hand around my neck tightly.
"You been telling me what I need to do for Daylen way before he was born and I'm sick of yo ass doing that shit."
"Y-You're hurting me .. I c-can't breathe."
He looked me in the eyes before he let go.
I gasped for air.
"Where you going?"
"Put my baby in his crib."
"Come hea." He said.
"No Dayvon."
He got up following me.
"Dayvon just leave me alone .. I don't wanna fight you with you."
He pulled me aggressively.
"I said come hea don't be walking yo ass away from me when I'm talking to you."
"Stop!" I said pulling away.
He pulled me back slamming the room door.
"Let go of my neck Dayvon!"
"I told yo ass stop fucking telling me what to do!" He said punching me in the nose.
"It's n-not that deep Dayvon." I said crying.
"I didn't mean it like that."
"You know what you mean bitch.. you tryna say I'm a dead beat ass daddy you know ion play that shit when it come to my kids!"
"You have anger issues!"
He slapped me across the face.
"Now clean this blood up off my sheets."
I stood in the bathroom mirror I had a another bloody nose and another bruise across the face.
There was blood on the sheets and on the floor.
For a moment I thought he'd changed, he didn't put his hands on me for a while, but I guess the old Dayvon decided to show up.
20 minutes later...
WAH!

"Come on baby mama got you shhh."
"Even when your dad is gone I got you."
I cried and I cried.
"Has Dayvon been home since you had Daylen?" My aunt asked.
"Sometimes, but I can't even tell him how I feel without him getting upset and Daylen keeps screaming and crying." I said emotionally.
"Auntie Jazz I'm trying so hard, but I feel so depressed right now and I'm having mood swings."
"Yaya sweetheart listen to me.. you need to calm down first and then your son will calm down babies feed off of energy."
"Relax take a deep breath."
"Now breastfeed."
"Babies cry Yaya, that's their way of expressing themselves.. he may be hungry, or tired, or full."
"Or maybe he just yearns to feel your heartbeat."
"Gently lay him on your chest."
Eventually Daylen stopped crying after I did everything my aunt told me to do.
"Thank you aunt Jazz."
"You're welcome.. now I'm going to let you bond with your baby."
"If you need any help you call me again."
"Okay thank you."
"You're welcome sweetie." She said hanging up the phone.
"Daylen you're so perfect.. my sweet baby."
"You're everything I imagined you would be."
"And I carried you for 9 months just so you can look nothing like me.. except for your ears you have mommy's ears."
"But you look exactly like him." I said laughing.
I sighed.
"One day I'm gonna put us in a better position.. because as much as I love your dad.. I wanna be here to see you grow up, take your first steps, and be there for your first day of school."
"And I'm afraid I might not be able to do that if I continue to stay with your dad."
"I love you too much and you're too special to me for me to miss that Daylen."
I rocked my baby back and forth until he fell asleep in my arms.
Later on that evening...
"Yaya you up ma?" Dayvon asked walking in the room.
"Ma." He called out.
"You sleep?"
"This girl then fell asleep with baby music on."
"I love you." He said kissing me and Daylen on the forehead.
