(Y/N) winced and turned around, coming face to face with Ino's younger brother, Inoniji. (A/N: Random ass OC I came up with on the fly. 🙄✋ Also the fucking name 😭 and I know he doesn't exist in the series but idc)
The 11 year old glared at him.
Inoniji: You're taking big sister on a date, right?
(Y/N): Yeah.
Inoniji: <crossing his arms> You better take good care of her or else I'll kick your butt.
(Y/N): <sweat dropping> Sure.
Ino's mother, Ida, walked over to the two.
Ida: Inoniji, be nice. I'm sure he'll take good care of Ino. <to (Y/N)> What can I do for you?
(Y/N): Oh, I was looking for flowers to give to your daughter. Heh heh.
Ida: <smiling> I can help you with that! I would suggest a bouquet of different flowers. She especially loves roses.
(Y/N): I see. Thank you.
As he walked out of the store holding the bouquet of flowers, he saw Minerva with Akio who was carrying a stack of books.
Minerva: <seeing the bouquet> Aw, (Y/N), you shouldn't have.
(Y/N): Ha ha.
Minerva: Well, I suppose it is your first date so it seems I must teach you the proper etiquette in how to woo a lady.
(Y/N): Uhh... I don't know if you're the right person for that job...
Minerva: What do you mean by that? If you really want to lay with her—
(Y/N): Minerva! This is just a date. I'm not trying to do that.
Minerva: Oh, hogwash. That's what they all say.
Akio blinked and raised an eyebrow at Minerva.
Minerva: Why are you looking at me like that?
(Y/N): Even Akio's being put off by your behavior.
Minerva: Fine, then. But don't come crying to me when you can't figure out how to put it in.
And with that she walked away with Akio trailing behind her.
(Y/N): <sighs> What the hell?
He turned and saw Tayuya and Nyssa staring at him.
Tayuya: Put what in?
Nyssa: Hi, (Y/N).
The white haired male jumped back a bit, surprised by their presence.
(Y/N): Where did you two come from?
Tayuya: Why do you have that bouquet, huh?
(Y/N): Because I'm going on a date with Ino, and I'm going to give it to her.
Tayuya: <angry> What?! A date?! How dare you!
(Y/N): <deadpan> Right.
Nyssa: <giggles> You just waited too late to ask him, Tayuya.
Tayuya: <angry> Yeah, right! Like I have feelings for this chump! Hmph! Let's go, Nyssa.
She stormed away.
(Y/N): Oy vey...
Nyssa: She's a little bit of a tsundere. After we saw you again, she wouldn't stop talking about how much she hated you.
(Y/N): Yeah, "hated."
Nyssa: Have fun on your date.
(Y/N): Thanks, Nyssa.
As he walked back to his house, he ran into Sakura and Sai.
Sai: Oh, hello, (Y/N).
(Y/N): Hi, guys. What are you doing?
Sakura: We're going to go watch Naruto train with Kakashi-sensei. I would ask if you wanted to come, but you have that date with Ino...
(Y/N): Yeah, sorry.
He saw her staring at the bouquet of flowers while frowning.
Sai: What are those flowers for?
(Y/N): I'm giving them to Ino.
Sai: Why?
(Y/N): Just to be nice, and you usually do this kind of thing on a date, anyway.
Sai: I see.
He took out a small notebook and started writing something down on it.
(Y/N): I would focus more on making friends than trying to understand dating stuff. It's way more complicated.
Sai: How do you mean?
(Y/N): Well...
Before he could answer, someone jumped onto his back, arms wrapped around his neck. He started choking.
Sakura: <worried> (Y/N)!
Hinata ran up to the group.
Hinata: Hanabi, let him go! You're hurting him!
The person let go of (Y/N), allowing him to breathe again. He turned and saw Hanabi smiling at him.
(Y/N): <panting> It's good to see you, too, Hanabi...
Hanabi: I wanted to see you as soon as Sister Hinata told me you were back but you left on that mission before I could.
She started pouting.
(Y/N): <chuckling> Sorry about that.
Sakura: We should get going. See you guys later.
As she and Sai walked off, Hinata bashfully held her hand to her chest and looked down.
Hinata: I-I heard what happened with Sasuke. I-I'm sorry, (Y/N).
(Y/N): It's fine, Hinata. I appreciate it, though.
Hanabi pointed to the flowers he was holding.
Hanabi: Hey! Who are those for?
(Y/N): Oh... Uh, these are for Ino.
Hinata/Hanabi: Huh?!
(Y/N): <rubbing the back of his head> Yeah... I'm sort of going on a date with her tonight...
Hanabi: You traitor!!
She punched him in the private parts. The white haired male cried out in pain and crumbled to the ground.
Hinata: <horrified> Hanabi!!
Hanabi: How dare you cheat on Sister Hinata! And after I gave you permission to marry her at that!
(Y/N): Ow...
Hinata: Hanabi, we're not even <blushing> dating.
Hanabi: <angry> Still! He was supposed to propose after I gave him permission!
Hinata: That's not how things work...
(Y/N) slowly sat up, gasping in pain.
(Y/N): I think I'm dying...
Hanabi: Hmph. Good.
Hinata: Hanabi!
Shino and Kiba walked over to the scene, confused on what happened.
Kiba: Why is (Y/N) writhing in pain?
Shino: I think he was punched in the balls by Hanabi.
Kiba: <covering his> Aah!!
Hanabi glared at (Y/N) before walking off. Hinata knelt besides (Y/N).
Hinata: I-I'm so sorry about her. She... She's just too young to understand...
(Y/N): Ow...
Kiba: Why would she do something like that?
(Y/N): Ow...
Shino: He must've done something to make her extremely upset.
(Y/N): Ow...
Hinata: She found out that (Y/N)'s going on a date with Ino.
(Y/N): Ow...
Kiba: A date with Ino? Wha?!
(Y/N): Ow...
Shino: Hmm... Then Hanabi must've had the impression that (Y/N) was always going to date Hinata.
(Y/N): Ow...
Kiba and Shino helped (Y/N) to his feet. Hinata picked up the bouquet that had fallen to the ground.
Hinata: Here...
She handed it to him, blushing.
(Y/N): Thank you... Ow... Hinata...
Kiba: Anyway, (Y/N), we need to talk to you.
(Y/N): About what?
Shino: While you were on your mission to find Sasuke, we went on a mission of our own, and we encountered a hooded woman with two other women who could turn into bat creatures.
(Y/N): <shocked> What?! You met her?
Hinata: <nodding> She said she wanted to take me and turn me into one of those bat things...
(Y/N): <angry> What?! How dare she...
Kiba: We managed to escape, but she had some totally weird jutsu.
(Y/N): God... Now she's going after my friends...
Kiba: Yeah, and... Hey, when'd you get a Sharingan?
Shino and Hinata both looked at his new Sharingan.
(Y/N): It happened during the mission... Apparently, it's a part of her plan for me...
Shino: Can you turn it off?
(Y/N): No. It's always activated.
Shino: So it's been draining your chakra all this time?
(Y/N): I guess, but I don't feel any different. I don't know if that's because I have so much chakra that it doesn't bother me or what.
Kiba: I just know one thing. That lady is totally freaky, man!
Hinata: She was really scary. She nearly killed Kurenai-sensei too.
(Y/N): I'm just glad you guys are okay. I don't know what I'd do if she killed one of you...
Shino: This just means we all have to keep our eyes open, even more than we already have to. First Orochimaru, then the Akatsuki, and now her... It's all rather overwhelming.
(Y/N): And at least we sort of know Orochimaru and the Akatsuki's end goal, but we know almost nothing about her goal, only that I play some part in it.
Kiba: Being a Shinobi sure is tough.
Hinata: But we all knew what we were getting into when we decided to go to the Academy.
Shino: Hinata's right. We signed up for this. All we can do is cross our fingers and hope that that woman doesn't come after us again.
(Y/N): You guys better be careful, all right? She needs me alive so I'm pretty much safe as of right now, but she sure does love to torment me. That means she might go after you guys and my other friends. I couldn't handle losing another friend...
Hinata: <blushing> (Y/N)...
Kiba: <tearing up> Oh, shut up! I hate you!
He started furiously wiping his eyes.
Shino: <shocked> Are you... crying, Kiba?
Kiba: No!
(Y/N): <chuckling> Damn, I didn't know my speech was that sad.
Kiba: Shut up!
Hinata giggled.

That night, (Y/N) walked over to the Ino's house. He was wearing a (F/C) jacket and his long hair was tied back.
He clutched the bouquet of flowers and knocked on the door.
Inoichi opened the door and smiled.
Inoichi: (Y/N), it's good to see you! Especially after you disappeared...
(Y/N): <laughs> Yeah... It's good to be back.
He walked inside and was confronted by Inoniji.
Inoniji: Hey, you! I'll beat you up if you make big sister cry.
(Y/N): Well, I don't plan on that happening.
Ida walked into the room.
Ida: Inoniji, leave (Y/N) alone. <to (Y/N)> Ino should be down in a minute.
As soon as she said that, Ino walked down the stairs in a cute cooking apron.
Ino: Hi, (Y/N)!
(Y/N) smiled at her and held out the bouquet of flowers.
Ino: <blushing> Oh, thank you.
She took them and stared at them.
Ida: I'll go put these in a jar for you.
She grabbed them and hurried away, giggling.
(Y/N): So what are we doing?
Ino: We're going to cook!
(Y/N): Cook?
Ino: Yup!
She held up an apron for (Y/N).
Inoichi: This was her idea. Anyway, Ida and I are taking Inoniji out so have fun, you two.
(Y/N) put on the apron just as Ida returned.
Ino and (Y/N) stood next to each other as they watched her parents leaving the house with Inoniji.
Outside, they heard her parents talking.
Ida: I wish we took a picture of them. They're so cute!
Inoichi: I'm just glad she likes a boy with manners. Imagine if she brought that Sasuke kid. Sheesh.
(Y/N) and Ino both sweat dropped.
Ino: Anyway, let's go into the kitchen.
(Y/N): What are we making?
Ino: Pies!
(Y/N): Pies, huh? Okay, then.
Inside, all of the ingredients were laid out as well as the recipes.
Ino: Have you ever made a pie before?
(Y/N): N-No, not really.
Ino: Well, the first thing we're going to make is the crust.
(Y/N): Crust, huh? Can't we just buy that part?
Ino: <giggles> It's more rewarding if you make the crust, too. We're making two pumpkin pies and one apple pie.
(Y/N): Sounds fun. I hope I don't screw it up though.
Ino: You won't. I'll be here too. We're making them together!
(Y/N): Then here goes nothing.

The two spent a few hours making the pies. When they were in the oven, they sat down with cooking ingredients all over their aprons.
(Y/N): I hope the apple pie turns out good, even though I dropped the bowl on the floor.
Ino: It'll be fine.
She stared at him and blushed.
Ino: <thinking> He looks so hot with his apron covered in food.
(Y/N) watched the pies cook in the oven.
(Y/N): This was fun. Maybe that's because you were here with me.
Ino: I like to cook in my spare time. It calms me down especially after a hard mission.
(Y/N): Yeah? When did you start doing this?
Ino: <looking down> Well, I started it after you went missing...
(Y/N): Oh...
The two sat in silence for a few minutes.
(Y/N): I'm sorry for making you worried. I can't even imagine what it was like.
Ino: Why are you apologizing? It wasn't your fault you got kidnapped.
(Y/N): I know... It's just... I wish you liked a normal boy. I'm just going to drag you into all of this shit that's going on in my life. And I don't want to put you in any danger.
Ino: Hey. (Y/N), I fell in love with you not because you were normal, but because of who you are as a person. Well, to be honest, at first it was because of your looks, and that's also why I liked Sasuke too. But as you grew up, I realized that you not only were handsome, but you had an awesome personality, and you cared for your friends. That's also the reason why I stopped liking Sasuke. He cut himself off from everyone except you, it seems. And I'm not judging. I can't even imagine what it must be like being in his shoes with his whole family dead. The point is, I'm not going to stop loving you because you don't have a "normal" life or that it's dangerous. We're both Shinobi. That's a dangerous job in general.
She knelt down in front of him and placed her hand in his.
Ino: I love you because you are a kind, sweet, handsome boy who cares deeply about his friends and would do anything to protect them, even the ones who push him away. And I will always stay by your side no matter what.
(Y/N): <blushing> Ino...
The oven ringed, signaling that the pies were done.
Ino: <smiling> They're done.
The two started with eating one of the pumpkin pies.
(Y/N): Wow, this is so good!
Ino: It tastes amazing!
(Y/N) stood up and walked over to Ino, causing her to back up against the table. He put his arm on it and stared at her.
(Y/N): You know what else I hope tastes amazing?
Ino blushed.
Ino: W-What?
(Y/N): This apple pie.
He grabbed it and held it up.
Ino: Eh? •—•
(Y/N) handed her a piece of the apple pie, grinning.
Ino: <thinking> Why is he so cute?

(Y/N) walked out the door and turned, looking back at Ino.
Ino: I had a great time, (Y/N). I hope we can do this again soon.
(Y/N): I wouldn't be opposed.
He kissed her cheek and was about to turn before she grabbed his wrist.
(Y/N): What is it?
Ino: <smirking> You missed.
She pulled him close and kissed him on the lips, wrapping her arms around his neck. (Y/N) wrapped his arms around her waist.
They then heard a voice behind them.
Inoichi: Oh, my.
They separated and looked at Ino's family. They both blushed profusely.
Ida: What did we walk in on?
Inoniji started fake gagging.
(Y/N): I was just leaving.
Ida: <smirking> Mm-hm.
Ino waved goodbye to (Y/N) as he began to walk home.
Ino: Bye, (Y/N)! See you later!
(Y/N) waved back as he left the premises, smiling to himself.
He then bumped into someone.
(Y/N): Oh, I'm sorry, sir. I wasn't watching where I was going...
He trailed off when he saw that the person was Danzo Shimura. He stared at (Y/N).
(Y/N): Danzo...
Danzo: You should hurry home, young (Y/N). You never know who is lurking in the shadows at night.
(Y/N) watched Danzo with suspicion as he hurried on to his house.
Danzo stared at the Sharingan in (Y/N)'s eye. When the young male was gone, he turned.
Danzo: Sharingan, eh...?
He rubbed his right arm and grinned.
