Mystic Falls Town Centre
3rd Person:
Today was the day of the Founders Day march, where all the residence of Mystic Falls come together to celebrate the Founders of there beloved town
The march had some students of Mystic Falls High on a couple floats participating, and mainly the winner of Miss Mystic Falls; Caroline Forbes, on one of the floats
The town stood together in a crowd with Tyler's mother announcing the people who were in the march "Let's give a big hand to the Mystic Falls High School Marching Band" People cheered as the Marching Band walked by playing loud enjoyable music while holding the Marching Band sign "And for a little history, Mr.Saltzmans students have recreated Virginia's Battle of Willow Creek"
A grey float came by with Tyler, Jeremy and other history students ontop of the float holding fake guns doing exactly what she told them, they were recreating the Battle of Willow Creek. The float had rubble and stones along with a fake burned out grey shed with the boys dressed up in soldier uniforms
"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome our stunning Miss Mystic Falls court and their handsome escorts" The next float that came from behind had Elena in a large yellow gown who was travelling along with Stefan who was dressed in a handsome suit, beside them on a taller platform was Miss Mystic Falls: Caroline, who was dressed in a similar yellow gown standing beside Matt who was also wearing a handsome suit
The four of them waved into the cheering crowd, Elena spotted Chris standing nearby with and she waved at him. Chris smiled politely and gave a tiny wave back, he was a little happy
That was until a certain Salvatore stood inbetween Chris' and Elenas line of sight. Damon gave a cheeky finger wave towards Elena whose face stopped smiling and her eyes rolled once he stood in the way
Elena looked back at Stefan and scoffed then proceeded to keep waving at everyone waving at them. Damon looked over his own shoulder at Chris who was shaking his head slightly at him "What do you want?" Chris asked him
"Just watching the parade" Damon said casually to the very annoyed looking Chris, acting like he wasn't the reason for the very annoyance Chris was feeling right now. Chris scoffed and turned to walk away "Where are you going?"
"Anywhere where you aren't" Chris said still walking off until he got stopped by Damon who quickly walked over to him
"Hey, I wanna say something" He said
"Why can't you just leave me alone?" Chris asked in a huff
"Thank you" Damon said making Chris' face turned a little shocked. Damon just said thank you? "The device that Emily spelled could've killed me. Just know that I don't take what you did lightly, so thank you. You and your sister"
This made Chris feel a little bit guilty. Even though it was just Damon, a guy who he didn't care about because of everything he had done but Chris didn't want to be hypocritical. And Bonnie pretending to turn off the vampire device which could hurt others was hypocritical in his opinion
"I don't think we need to talk about that. We clearly did it for Elena, not you" Chris said to him trying to stop the conversation
"I know it was because Elena asked, but I'm still grateful" Damon said nicely "I guess I owe you both one for this" The both of them started at one another for a few seconds, Damon awkwardly because Chris wasn't saying anything and Chris was feeling bad "Enjoy the parade" Damon said before walking back to where he was watching the floats

Unbeknownst to the group, two other groups in Mystic Falls were planning there own version of events throughout the day into the night
The Supernatural Council of Mystic Falls which John was involved in had the vampire device and were ready to enact there plan to harm and kill all the creatures they denounced as evil
And the tomb vampires made a plan to blend into the crowd when people gathered for the night event to kill the Founders of the town as revenge for when they unsuccessful tried to burn them all hundreds of years ago

The dark night sky cascaded over the town who were still celebrating 150 years of there home town. People were walking around in there friend and family groups, a lot of them holding balloons they were going to release. A lot of happy people who didn't realise blood eating monsters were surrounding them
Anna warned Damon that the tomb vampires were scattered around in the crowd around them that were clapping and cheering at the lovely fireworks show that was going on. Damon then got to work recruiting Alaric and warning Elena and his brother about them
Chris was walking through the crowd and accidentally bumped into a guy who was not watching where he was going, for he was too busy watching the Mayor rush off stage as he was just warned that vampires were in the crowd "Oh, sorry"
"I'm sorry, excuse me" The guy said. Chris got a weird feeling from this random man and decided to follow him
Just then John activated the device after Damon had antagonised him while being cocky since he thought that the Bennetts voided the device useless. Vampires all around including Damon, Anna and Stefan fell to the ground holding there heads in pain
And somehow, somewhere Tyler Lockwood was also being affected...
Stefan fell down with a grown making Elena fall down with him in worry as he was being hurt "Stefan? What's going on? What's happening?"
"My head" Stefan groaned as he struggled on the ground "My head"
An officer was about to sneak up on them both when he saw that a vampire was on the ground being hurt until Alaric spotted them and rushed over to help "Get up" He said while grabbing Stefan to pull him up so they could walk and hide away
"I don't know what happened, he just dropped" Elena explained to him
"Yeah, he's not the only one" Alaric replied "Cops are grabbing everyone who's down. Injecting vervain into them"
They got down some stairs away from sight and finally set Stefan down. Elena thought for a few seconds about the situation "They're rounding up the vampires. Are you okay?" She asked Stefan
"It was like needles were piercing my skull and then it just stopped" Stefan explained to her as Alaric went up the stairs and watched the cops drag bodies away
"There were at least five vampires that went down, excluding you Stefan" Alaric then came down the stairs after he watched men take the vampires awah "They're taking them to your family's old building, Elena"
"It's the Gilbert device" Stefan theorised "It has to be"
"But how would he even get it to work?" Elena asked him in confusion "Bonnie and Chris unspelled it"
Alaric shrugged his shoulders as he said to her "Maybe they didn't"
"No they did" Elena believed "We saw them do a spell, they stopped the device from working"
"No, no. He's right. Think about it" Stefan said "We asked a Bennett witch to deactivate a device that could protect people against vampires"
"Yeah, so we could protect you" Elena said putting her hand on Stefans shoulder
"And Damon..." Stefan told her. Elena then understood what he was saying, they hate Damon, so why would they want to protect him "Where is Damon anyway?"
"I don't know" Alaric shrugged again "He warned me about the device but I haven't seen him since it activated and the gathering started"
"Can you get my brother? Take him home, please?" Elena asked Alaric to which he nodded at her. She then turned to Stefan and said "Lets go"
They both ran to the old Gilbert medical building, but before they got to the building they ran into John which stopped them. Elena told Stefan where to go while she stopped with John who was hoping that Stefan would run in the building and be burned alive like the other vampires
Stefan ran around to the side of the building to another entrance so he could save his brother. Chris spotted him and ran over to him shouting "Stefan! You can't go in there" Stefan ignored him and went to go in anyway by breaking open the doors lock "The fire will kill you"
Stefan stopped and turned back to him "Chris, that's my brother in there" He then rushed in and found the door to the basement, smoke was coming from under the door and when he touched the doorknob he pulled his hand back quickly as it was burned from the heat coming from behind the door
Chris stayed outside and shook his head to himself until he heard Elena running around the building and coming towards him "Stefan!"
Before Elena ran inside Chris grabbed her arm and stopped her "No, Elena, you can't go inside"
"Chris, what are you doing?"
"I'm sorry we lied, but you can't go in and get yourself killed for no reason" Chris apologised to her, he then used both of his hands to grab her arm and closed his eyes. Chris channeled Elena and started to chant, Elena tried to pull off to run inside but Chris kept his hold on her
Inside the building, Stefan could finally touch the handle and he swung the door open only to be greeted with the roaring flames of death. He could hear vampires groaning and screaming from down the stairs
He looked around and found there was no way to get down until suddenly the flames inside of the basement started to simmer down. Stefan immediately rushed down and spotted him "Damon!" He ran over and helped get Damon onto his feet "Come on. Hurry up" Stefan then used his vampire speed to rush Damon out of the building
Chris stopped his spell letting the flames roar again to kill the rest of the vampires inside. Chris opened his eyes and let go of Elena "Chris, what is it? Are they gonna be okay?"
Chris stared at her and waited, Stefan and Damon then ran out of the building coughing. Elena turned in delight to see them alive
"Your welcome" Chris muttered before walking away by himself

Mystic Grill - Outside:
Stefan walked out of the Grill after having spent some time with Elena talking about personal things of where his relationship is with his brother and bumped into Chris who was walking towards the Mystic Grill enterance, Stefan nodded to him "Oh, hey"
"Hey" Chris responded
"You just missed Elena" He said
"I wasn't looking for her, I was looking for you actually" Chris said which made him pull a little face of surprise and hum a little "Elena is one of my best friends. And because she loves you, I didn't want you or Damon to die in that fire. Also it didn't feel right to let something like that happen when I could stop it"
"Thank you, Chris I'm grateful for that. I hope you know that" Stefan responded
"I do. But I hope you understand that things in this town need to change with us. Starting with Damon, he needs to be stopped before anything else bad happens"
"We both want the same thing"
Chris gave him an eyed look "Same... but different. We want to protect the people that we love and care for, the difference is that the person your protecting is Damon. Now I don't want to be that person but you know what I'm capable of now, you saw what I did tonight. And if Damon does anything else, you'll have me and my sister to answer to... because she isn't as forgiving with this supernatural stuff. She'd take you down along with him"
"Let's hope it doesn't come down to that" Stefan said recognising the warning
"I hope not either" Chris said before turning around and walking away

Gilbert House:
Elena returned home after being at the Grill with Stefan and saw that Damon was coming out of the house. He explained what he was doing there and got into a conversation about how he feels about his situation in this town. He came here to tamper and hurt but he has now ended up wanted to protect it
Elena reassured him that he could do good, and maybe that is him, truely on the inside. Damon deduced that because Chris saved him he thought that meant that Elena thought he was worth being saved
The tension thickened as Damon got closer to her the more he spoke, he kissed her on the cheek lightly and when he realised she didn't back off he took a chance... and kissed her lips
Elena responded to the kiss pushing forward for more until the houses front door opened interrupting them both. Jenna was beyond shocked by what she had just slightly witnessed as she knew that Elena was with Stefan
Elena then quickly got inside of the house where Jenna slammed the door in a confused but happy Damons face "What are you doing?" Jenna asked judgingly
"...I don't wanna talk about it" Elena then went into the kitchen as Jenna shook her head and walked upstairs
She was stood behind the open fridge door and when it closed John jumped a little seeing Elena stood there "You scared me"
"Sorry" She apologised walking over to the sink with a plate she just picked up off of the table
John explained a little about her biological mother and about how he was the one that sent her to Damon which is how she got turned. Elena stood there in her own mind placing some knives back into the wooden knife block on the table "I'm telling you this because I hope maybe you'd understand"
John walked over and stood by her. Elena turned and nodded subtley "Thank you"
"Can I help?" John asked offering to help her with the dishes
Elena looked down on the table towards one of the Gilbert rings that lay on his finger "Sure" Elena then picked up a knife and chopped it down strongly upon his fingers behind the ring and swiped them off of the table. John screamed in terror at the sudden pain of his missing fingers
Elena pushed John up against the wall. John looked into her eyes and realised something "Katherine?"
Katherine smirked and released her vampuric veins around her eyes "Hello, John. Goodbye, John" Katherine then plunged the knife into John's chest making him grunt and slowly bleed even more
At the same time the real elena was approaching her front door complaining to Stefan on the phone that someone had stolen her things. She came back to check on Jeremy before going to the hospital to check up on Caroline who had gotten into a crash after Tyler Lockwood had an episode when the vampire device went off and crashed the car with him, Caroline and Matt inside
She ended the call and walked into the house, she went to the bottom of the stairs and called from down them "Jeremy? Are you up?" She waited for an answer until she heard a loud clanging noise coming from the kitchen
And so... she went to investigate the mystery noise
