                 ❝𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴?❞

                           _______
𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗲 was pitch black. Until I fell and hit the ground, landing on my back. "Ow," I say to myself. "(Y/n)? Get up come on," a voice said. I opened my eyes to see Diego, holding his hand out for me to grab. As I grabbed his hand, we both turned around at the sound of electricity crackling. "And there goes the portal," Diego said. "Help! Someone help me!" a lady shouted. "Come on!" Diego exclaimed. We both ran towards the sound of the lady. Diego quickly ran in throwing a knife toward the guy, trapping him and punching him. I walked towards them, Diego was handing the lady her purse back. "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country," a voice from a tv said. "Is that John F. Kennedy? I asked. "It is," Diego muttered. "What the hell did Five do now?" Diego asked, turning to look at me. "I don't know. But we have to find everyone else," I suggested. "We should. But what if we saved him?" Diego asked me, finally looking away from the tv. "John F. Kennedy?" I asked him. "Obviously. We have a chance to save him," Diego told me. "I don't think we should mess around Diego," I replied. I turn around and see the date on another tv. "September 1, 1963. We're in the past," I gasped. "No surprise there. Now we really do have a chance at saving him. Let's go," Diego lead, starting to walk away. "But Diego we have to find everyone else!" I shouted at him, making him stop and come back to me. "Okay listen, I'm not going to leave you behind. So here's the plan. We save Kennedy and then we find the rest of the shitheads in this family. And because you're basically my younger sister, I'm responsible for you. So let's go," He told me, dragging me away with him.

"Thank you, Alan, for bringing that to the group. I fear that is something we can all relate too. Okay, who else would like to share? Anyone? Come on, who's next? Diego, you've been awfully quiet this morning," the Doctor said. "Just taking it all in Doc," Diego replied. "Letting all the healing shit wash over me," Diego continued. We had to sit in this stupid mental hospital all because of him. But at least we made a friend. "Last week you mentioned your father. How your whole childhood felt like some kind of experiment," the Doctor said. "It was an experiment," Diego corrected him. "Hmm. Or did it just feel like an experiment?" the Doctor asked. "No. It was literally an experiment. Right (Y/n)?" Diego asked, looking at me. "Yeah," I agreed. Whatever helped us 'cope' so we can leave soon. "Let's dig deeper. You say your father is a villain," the Doctor informed him. "Hell yeah," Diego responded. He doesn't make this any easier for us. "And you had to play hero to make daddy mad," the Doctor added. Lila, our friend who sat next to me, started to laugh. She stopped laughing after she saw that no one laughed with her. "I'm a grown-ass man Dr. Moncton—" Diego tried to say. "Who still defines himself in opposition to his father. His dead father. Even your younger sister, (Y/n), seems to be dealing with your father better than you are. That isn't really defining yourself is it Diego?" the Doctor asked. "Yeah, why don't you tell that to Luke Skywalker?" Diego's asked The Doctor. Everyone around us seemed confused. "I know you don't get it but that is an excellent reference," Diego broke the silence. "Humor is good. Truth is better. Who is the real Diego?" the Doctor continued to ask. "I don't know," Diego replied. "I guess I've never known. But I'm ready. I'm ready to find out," Diego answered, tearing up a little bit. Everyone around us started to clap. I just wanna leave. "Thank you Diego," the Doctor told him. "Okay. Quiet time until lunch," the Doctor ordered. "You have to actually make progress so we can leave," I whispered to him. "I'm trying!" He whispered shouted back. I could feel Lila lean over toward us. "You're so full of shit. Not you
(Y/n)," Lila said. "Tears too much?" Diego asked. "He saw right through it," Lila confirmed. "No he totally ate that shit up," Diego fought back. "Bet you three lunch Jell-O's you're wrong," Lila betted. "You're on," Diego challenged. It's official, we're never leaving. "What is he doing?" I asked Lila. "Just wait. I'm surprised Mr. Doctor didn't ask you to say anything. What's the trick?" Lila asked. "No trick. Just luck." I replied. Diego started to shout, catching our attention. "I'm okay," Diego reassured the Doctors. "God. We are never leaving," I told Diego.

"God this is stupid," Diego whispered, throwing the bracelet he tried to make on the table. "For you maybe. This'll cheer you up," Lila told him. She slammed her foot on the table. Her foot was now in front of me. "Bacon?" Diego asked. "I smuggled it out of the lunchroom. Do you want some?" Lila asked him. "No," Diego responded."(Y/n)?" Lila asked me. "No thanks," I replied. She then took a bite out of the bacon. "To be honest, I was saving it for your guy's great escape," Lila told us. "What are you talking about?" Diego and I asked. "Just saying. Whatever it is you guys are planning, I can be very resourceful," Lila suggested. "Look even if we were planning something, which we aren't, you would be the last person we would ever take," Diego said. "It's because of the Jell-O's, right? You can have them back," Lila assured. "No it's not because of the Jell—I'm a lone wolf. I don't run with a pack," Diego explained. "What about (Y/n)?" Lila asked him. "Except for her," He admitted. "Perfect," Lila said. "Because I'm somewhat of a lone wolf myself," Lila added. "Bacon?" She asked me. "No thanks," I said again. "It's good," Lila added. "I'm not really hungry," I responded. "Why are you so sad this morning? Is it because I ate your Jell-O too?" she asked me. "No. I just want to leave this place already," I reminded her. "Me and you can leave this place soon. Plan our big escape. What do you say?" Lila asked me. "I'd actually love that," I told her. "What about me? Won't I be included too?" Diego asked us. "We'll think about it," Lila said. "Hargreaves, both, you have a visitor," a man said. "Who?" We both asked. "I ain't your secretary," he responded. "Maybe Daddy finally came to say, 'I love you' ," Lila said. "Piss off. Come on (Y/n)," Diego told me, getting up from his chair. I sighed as I got up and followed him.

We walked towards a room. "Who do you think it is?" Diego asked me. "Probably someone who came to visit us by mistake. They probably got the last name wrong," I told him. "You think so?" he asked me. "Yeah," I replied. We got to the room, and there he was. Five. "Five," Diego said. "Hey Diego," Five responded. He shot a look at me. His face expression turned from serious, to sad. "(Y/n)," He said. Diego and I sat down in front of him. "You guys look good in white," he complimented. "About time you showed up," Diego replied. "How'd you know I'd be back?" Five asked him. "Because that's the kind of shit you pull. Plus I knew you'd end up being back for (Y/n)," Diego answered. "Where are the others?" Five asked. "They're not with you?" Diego asked. "We'll find them," Five muttered. "How long have you been here?" Five asked us. "Seventy-five days," Diego said. "2 months," I responded. "Landed in the alley behind Commerce and Knox," Both Diego and Five said. "You?" Diego asked. "I got here this morning," Five answered. "You two didn't seem to age. Except for that beard and hair growth Diego," Five commented. "How'd you find us?" Diego asked curiously. "Are you stupid?" I asked him. Five pulled out a piece of paper. "Page 16," Five started. "Disturbed man with multiple knives arrest outside 1026 N. Beckley. Along with a girl who is presumed to be his younger sister," Five read the newspaper. He handed Diego and I the paper. "That's Les Harvey Oswald's house. Care to explain?" Five asked. "Let's just say, Dallas Law Enforcement has not been supportive of my attempt to stop the assassination of—John F. Kennedy," Diego explained. "That's because it hasn't happened yet," Five replied. "And it's not going to happen. Not on our watch," Diego told him. "Our? What do you mean our? You better not be dragging (Y/n) into this nonsense with you," Five warned him. "Look I've been shaving down the bars in my room. Another day or two and we'll be out this place. Then, I'm gonna stop Oswald and save the president. You want in, say the word," Diego offered. "Listen to me very closely, you gibbering moron. You are not going to do a goddam thing. And (Y/n) won't be dragged with you," Five warned him. "Why not?" Diego whispered. "Because we have to stop the apocalypse," Five whispered back. "No shit. But that doesn't happen for another 60 years," Diego whisper shouted. I can hear them from my seat. I'm basically invisible and I'm not even using my powers. "This is a new one," I heard Five say. "It followed us," he stated. "I've seen it. Nuclear war, Diego, in ten days," Five explained. Diego started to laugh. "And I'm the one they locked up huh?" Diego asked. "Have you even seen yourself?" I asked. "Do you realize what you did to get us in here? Or are just an idiot?" I asked him. "(Y/n) you're suppose to be with me on this," Diego said. "What causes the apocalypse?" I asked Five. "I don't know. Maybe some looney-tuned asshole with a hero complex tried to save the president and screwed everything up," Five answered, aiming it towards Diego. "So you're saying it worked? I saved the president? I knew I could do it. Okay, okay, I'll help you," Diego told Five. "Thank god," Five responded sarcastically. "After I save Kennedy. And then you swing us back a few decades so I can slit Hitler's throat off with a butter knife," Diego implied. "This is why you don't have any friends. I feel sorry that (Y/n) has to deal with your bullshit," Five remarked. "You know what? Guard. My brother is plotting an escape. The bars of his room have been shaved down," Five informed the guards. "Piece of shit!" Diego shouted, jumping towards Five but getting pulled back by the guards. "Look this is for your own good Diego," Five explained. "No! Five!" Diego yelled. "Listen my brother is a very sick man. I'm glad my sis—sister isn't as sick as him," Five explained to the guards. "I only pray that he gets the help he so desperately needs," Five told them. I got up from my seat, as a nurse went to Diego and sticked him with a needle. All I could hear was Diego shouting. The guards then took Diego away, unconsciously. One of them came over to me. "Not her. My sister wasn't involved in his plan. If I could, I would like to speak to her," Five told the guard. "No more than 10 minutes," The guard said, leaving the room. "Sit," Five said to me. We both sat down. "So how have you been?" he asked me. "Amazing. I've been stuck with my brother for 2 months. Running around town, saving people, getting put in this wonderful mental hospital because he loves to be a hero. Overall, I feel like a super star," I said sarcastically. Five sighed. "Look, I'm sorry. Okay? I didn't know this would happen. But we have to stop the new apocalypse. We only have 10 days and so far, you two are the only ones I've found. I need your help," Five asked desperately. "Five. I can't leave Diego in here by himself," I explained. "I understand. How about I come back for you? Later?" he asked. "Later? I don't know Five," I answered. "Just soon. Please? I need your help and at the same time, I don't have faith in Diego taking care of you," he explained. "I've been taking care of him," I replied. "Just—(Y/n)," He said, taking both my hands in his. "I swear, I'll come back for him. First, I'll come back for you, then him?" he promised. I thought about it. I got closer to his ear. "Are you begging?" I whispered in his ear. I hear him chuckle. "Really?" he asked, as I pulled away. "What if I am?" he curiously asked. "Then maybe I'll except, after I see to it that Diego's okay?" I asked. "Sounds good, Love. But don't take days. That's something we don't have," he reminded me. "I'll see you later," I told him. I got up from seat, leaving the room with the guard.

I was in my room when I heard a knock. Through the window I saw Diego. He opened my door. "What happened to you?" I asked him. "Don't worry. It's go time. Let's move," he told me. We started to head out and towards the closest exist. The lights started to flicker. Once we got to the other side of the wall, we saw someone. "Shit," Diego said. "Hargreeves. What are you both doing out here?" a doctor asked. "Sleep walking?" I asked. Diego went close and tried to hit him. He got knocked down instead. "Like to run your moth smart-ass?" the doctor asked. "It's gonna be hard after I break your jaw," he added. I was already charging for him, until he got knocked down. "Lila?" I asked, getting closer. "You guys aren't the only ones who want out!" she shouted. We both rushed over to Diego, assisting him. "Watch the shoulder," he told us. They started to lean in, for a kiss. Ew. But Instead, Lila popped his joint back in. Then, she started to howl. "Let's go!" I exclaimed. We all started to head down the hallway. Taking turns along the way. We stopped once we saw three armed men. "Shit! Run!" Diego shouted. We all started to run, trying our best to dodge the bullets. "Who are those guys?" Lila asked. "No idea," Diego responded. "What the hell are you stopping for?" Lila asked. "We need a distraction," Diego replied. "Follow me," Diego told us. We all started to run towards a door. We ended up underground. We all ran as fast as we could. "Which way?" Diego asked. "Right!" Lila answered. "Why right?" I asked. "Why not?" Lila asked. We all ran towards that direction. Both of them stumbled across two guards. "Thank god you're here. Three men just tried to attack us!" Lila exclaimed. One of the guards pointed his gun at us. "Get your hands up now," he demanded. "Wait you don't understand. We're not the bad guys," Diego tried to say. Lila kicked the guard, leaving him unconscious. "Where'd you learn how to fight like that?" Diego asked him. "My mother," Lila replied. Those moves seemed oddly familiar. They sorta look like the ones I was taught at the commission two months ago. Before anything else, Lila grabbed mine and Diego's hand and dragged us with her. We went up the stairs and left the building, escaping the chaos.
