Nandini lied in Manik's arms, her face was glowing and eyes shining.
She was time and again looking at her ring in her right hand, Manik brought her hand to his mouth and gently kissed her knuckles.
“ I love you soooooo much ”
Nandini said pecking his lips causing him to smile and tighten his hold on her waist.
“ 56th confession in the same night ”
Manik said as she giggled, it was half past 1 in the night but sleep was no where in any one's mind.
Nandini recalled her conversation with her parents.

Nandini knocked on the door and her mother opened.
Seeing him her eyes moistened.
“ Gussa hun mai tujhse abhi bhi ! ”
Savitri Vardhan said hugging her daughter and Nandini chuckled, her dad stood at a distance and clicked a picture.
“ Papa ”
Her voice creaked, Anand Vardhan didn't say anything but joined the duo when they heard the door open.
“ Mere bina family hug ? Not done ! ”
Mukti whined as she joined the three.
“ Papa mai aapse kuchh puchhna chahti hoon ! Aapko kaise pata chala about all this ? Aap toh Manik ko pasand nahi karte the ”
Anand sighed before sitting in the bed and Savitri joined him rubbing his arm as both Nandini and Mukti sat on the carpet on the floor, in either side of thier parents.
“ Aaya tha tumhara Manik mujhse milne, takreeban ek hafte pehle. Usse dekhte hi maine darwaza uske muh par band kar diya tha but woh do ghante bahar khada raha ”
Nandini gasped hearing this. Her father stroked her hair, just the way Manik always did and continued.
“ Dekha nahi gaya mujhse, garmi thi bahar aur woh aaya bhi toh suit coat pehen ke. Maine usse poocha ki kyu aya hai toh usne kaha ki usse mujhse kuchh chahiye. When I called him in, I asked your mother to come out and sit with us. Bataya usne ki kaise tu uski company me job karne lagi aur kaise usse tujhse pyaar ho gaya. Mai toh bohot gussa hua ye jankar ki woh tera boss hai par usne mujhe samjhaya, bola ki pyaar me limitations nahi hoti. Mujhe woh pasand nahi tha kyunki woh ek Malhotra tha, uski ma ke baare me saari duniya ko pata tha. Ham Ameer hai par wo toh raees hai na, darta tha kahi koi Ameer dil fek aashik nikla toh ! Isliye hi mujhe uski Mukti se dosti kabhi pasand nahi aayi. Lekin jab usne mujhse baat ki toh mujhe dikha ki woh tujhse kitna pyaar karta hai, teri kitni kadar karta hai, teri izzat karta hai. Poocha maine ki agar mai ijazat na doon toh ? Toh keh gaya,
‘ Give up nahi karunga, intazar karunga aur koshish karunga tab tak jab tak aapka dil jeet kar pure haq se aapse aapki beti le kar jaane ke kabil khud ko prove na kar doon ’

Nandini cried silently hearing her father, her respect for Manik grew ten folds more.
“ Nandu jaa jakar kuchh kha aur aaram kar, mujhe Zara in Mukti madam se bhi baat karni hai. Pata chala mujhse Abhiminyu ke baare mei ”
Her mother said twisting Mukti's ear and she winced
“ Manik, kutte tujhe chhodungi nahi ! Owww mumma chodo yaar dukh raha hai ”
She didn't wait a moment and ran out to Manik's room in the resort, not caring to knock she straight away went in and as soon as her eyes fell in Manik she kissed him pouring all her love for him in that kiss.

“ Ohk enough of these I love yous poori life padi hai iske liye but pehle come here and eat something. Itna kuchh hai aur sab tumhare liye, dekho what do you want to have pasta or chicken rolls or burgers oh I got your favourite manchurian too and dumplings bhi hai ”
Nandini bit her lower lip trying to hide the merging blush on her face and said,
“ I toh want to eat only you ”
Nandini out a finger under her chin and making her look up at him said,
“ Itna wait kiya hai, thoda aur karlo jaana. Ab toh sindoor laga kar hi tumhe apna banaunga, on our suhag raat.........full on filmy style ”
Though his words were clicke, they were full of love, passion and desire mirroring his eyes.
He leaned in and sucked ber lips lovingly for a minute and then backing off made her eat a dumpling.

Manik out forward his hand for Nandini and she looked him in the eye, giving him her breath taking smile.
Manik took a good minute to absorb his fiancee.
Her pink lehenga contrasted her milky white skin and the bangles made those beautiful sounds everytime to moved.
He smiled when he saw she has once again put on his infinity pendant.
He helped her with her dress and sat besides he.

The entire room, filled with people, seemed nothing to Manik, his eyes were fixed on Nandini.
Thier were people from his office who were giggling seeing thier boss like a love sick romeo but he cared less.
“ Manik stop staring at her like a creep, nazar lag jayegi usko ”
Mukti glared at him as she bent down trying to whisper but was still audible to Nandini.
“ Chu reh, husband ji nazar nahi lagti ! ”
His words made Mukti smile and Nandini blush.
He is my protector!
Nandini thought, Mukti looked at them and went down.
There were so many people congratulating them, wishing them the best in life.
It was a dream come true for Nandini.
And she owed it all to Manik, for she never thought she'd ever be truly happy again after what happened with Arham.
Her heart swelled with pride realising how Manik made her dad understand, it wasn't something he necessarily had to do but he did, for her.
Could she love this man any more ?
Suresh Khurrana, the CFO of his company was here too. He came in stage and said,
“ Chalo ek bete ki toh shadi dekhne ko mili, mujhe toh laga aise hi mar jaunga ”
Manik grunted and said,
“ Dusre bete ko mere taraf se punch de Dena uncle ”
Nandini looked at Manik, she felt awkward. The elderly man was one of her seniors in the office.
“ Oh it seems your assistant is a little curious ”
Suresh asked making Manik look at Nandini
He entertwined thier fingers and said,
“ Aryaman's dad ! Remember I told you I was under his dad's training before taking over the company ”
Nandini smiled at him as he patted her head.
“ Now I see why Manik has been glowing like a flower since a few months. ”
His words made Nandini feel giggle.
“ Ok guys it's time for the couple to exchange rings and hold thier hands together to embark on a new journey. Please stand on your places and grant out lovely couple with your wishes and blessings. ”
Karan said grabbing everyone's attention.
Alya said stood behind Nandini holding Manik's ring while Mukti stood by Manik's side.

Manik looked at her angelic face as multiple thoughts passed his mind.
The moment he will put a ring on her finger today, it will be his first step to make her his wife.
His heart was to explode any moment now.
On the other hand Nandini's heart was beating fast, she knew that now there was no going back, not that she would ever want to.

The small pinch of nervousness was overshadowed by the humongous amount of happiness she felt and love for Manik her heart had.
Anand looked at his watch and nodded at the two.

His eyes went to Nandini who was elated, she was beaming with happiness.

Mukti put forward the tray and Manik took the box in his hand.
Turning to Nandini he asked,
“ May I ”
She nodded with moist eyes and the moment he slid the ring on the ring finger of her left hand a singer drop of tear rolled down her eyes making him smile.

The hall echoed with the sound of thundering claps and wishes.
Nandini opened her eyes and smiled amidst tears, Alya gave her the box of ring and then she did something he didn't expect.
“ Manik Malhotra I love you, and now that I look back in time I think I always have. Today I want to confess that you are by far the most beautiful part of my life and I can not wait to spend the rest of the eternity being Nandini Manik Malhotra. I have prayed to my god to keep you with me always, do I have the honour of putting this ring on your finger and claiming you mine ? ”

By now she was on her one knee. The Vardhans smiled at thier daughter as they looked at each other.
Manik was beyond happy, he was ready to cry.

Holding her shoulder he made her stand up and kissing her forehead said,

She made him wear the ring as everyone hooted.

And just like that the night came to an end.
