Hermione laid silently in her bed, staring up at the ceiling. She'd been trying to sleep for hours but nothing had happened. She huffed and sat up. She ran a hand through her hair and glanced out the window.

She was in the new dorm, her shared dorm with Malfoy. Maybe that was why she couldn't sleep, because her enemy ever since she set foot in this school was living across the hall. She turned onto her side, biting her tongue to stop herself from letting out a frustrated sigh.

She stared around the room, taking in everything. The walls were red, and practically everything else was gold. The floor was made of gold and white marble. Her desk was made of gold metal, to her surprise. It had a glass drawer under it, which Hermione found useful for her quills.

The couch in front of her window was red as well, practically identical to the one from the Gryffindor common room, only it wasn't ripped. Her bedframe was also gold, but the sheets and covers were red.

It was a Gryffindors dream, and it made Hermione feel a bit more comfortable. Though there was something on her mind. She felt off. There was something going on.

Something always went wrong. That was what the wizarding world had taught her, never get too happy.

Eventually she put a silencing charm on her room and wrapped the blanket tightly around her before closing her eyes. Tomorrow would be her first day back home.

"I WILL KILL YOU"

"I DID NOTHING"

"NOTT"

Hermione shot up from her bed, her hand over her heart and her other hand on her wand. She let out a sigh of relief before recognizing the voices. Slightly less tense, she glared at her door.

She had forgotten which silencing charm she had used. The one she used most nights only silenced her room, no one could hear anything inside but she could hear everything happening inside.

It stopped the rest at the burrow from hearing her nightmares but kept her alert if anyone was outside. Post-war trauma, she figured.

She sat up straight and threw her legs over the side of the bed. She pushed herself up and pocketed her wand in her night shorts.

Throwing a shirt on, she opened the door of her room and glared into the common room. "What is your problem?" She snapped, wiping her eyes.

When she opened them again, she scanned over the common room. Malfoy and Zabini were sitting on the couch closest to her, and Parkinson and Nott were on opposite sides of the common room, their wands out.

Astoria Greengrass and Daphne Greengrass were sitting on another couch close to Malfoy and Zabini. Crabbe and Goyle were standing near Nott while Tracey Davis and Millicent Bulstrode stood beside Parkinson.

Brilliant, the snakes has infected her common room.

They all turned to look at her, some smirks and glares spreading across the room. "Did we disrupt your beauty sleep, Granger?" Theodore Nott smirked, his eyes on her hair.

Hermione clenched her fists to stop herself from self-consciously covering her head. She narrowed her eyes at him and he raised an eyebrow. Her gaze switched to Malfoy, who was smirking along.

"If you're going to invite your pests this early in the morning, I expect you to keep them quiet"She demanded, glaring at him.

She slammed the door before he could open his mouth. She locked the door once more before turning to look at her alarm.

It was 6 in the morning. She had only gotten 3 hours of sleep. She let out a groan and went over to the bathroom, which luckily was attached to her room. If there was one thing she was grateful for out of this whole thing, was that they each got their own bathroom.

Soon later, she was getting ready to head to Gryffindor tower. They didn't have classes today, and she was ready to sit around the fire with her friends like they used to.

Pulling on the black Hogwarts jumper her parents had gotten her, Hermione glancing around her room once more. It felt weird having a room to herself. She missed staying up with Parvati and Lavender already.

She left her room and muffled her groan. They were still here. Some of them looked over and scowled. She glared in return, locking her room before strolling out of the common room.

"What was she wearing?"Pansy questioned. Draco glanced over at her, raising an eyebrow. "Those were muggle jeans weren't they?"

Draco rolled his eyes. "The least she could do was wear wizarding robes" Tracey Davis scoffed.

"I know some people don't mind" Theo mumbled.

Draco barely looked up and caught Theo and Blaise smirking at him. He narrowed his eyes at them, before a smirk spread across his face. He moved his chess piece, "Checkmate"

Heading to Gryffindor tower, she noticed that there was new corridors added to the school. Having to memorize it all again would be a pain, she knew. With a sigh, she said the password and entered Gryffindor tower.

"Hermione!"

Her vision was filled with red hair before she could process the arms wrapped around her. She let out a laugh, "Good morning to you too Gin" Hermione grinned.

Ginny pulled away, and Hermione managed to see the rest of the common room. Harry And Ron were sitting in the arm chairs, and Neville Longbottom, Seamus Finnigan and Dean Thomas were sitting on the couch.

"Morning 'Mione"Harry grinned. The others said their good mornings, all except for Ron.

"How was your night with Malfoy?" Ginny smirked, dangling her arm over Hermione's shoulder.

Hermione glared at her, "We have our separate rooms" She snapped. "Oh of course, I'm asking if you've killed him yet" Ginny said after sending her a wink.

Hermione pushed her away and Ginny laughed. "He brought his whole lot to the common room. I woke up to them screaming" She told, sitting on the arm of the couch.

"Screaming?" Harry repeated, raising an eyebrow.

"Death threats"Hermione rolled her eyes. "I step out of my room and they're all spread out. Then you see Nott and Parkinson on opposite sides of the room with their wands out"

"That must've been nice" Dean laughed at the unamused look on Hermione's face.

She scoffed, about to speak again before they heard footsteps behind them. They all turned to look toward the stairs and Lavender Brown and Parvati Patil appeared.

Parvati grinned when she saw Hermione. "You missed the first Gryffindor party of the year" Parvati told. "Seamus managed to sneak in some butter beer"Neville added.

Hermione smiled, "I'm guessing McGonagall found out?"

Harry groaned, "She stormed in 2 hours after we started, sent us to bed and took 10 points"

"You're head girl, you can give us points" Seamus said as he sat up straight. "He's right"Dean grinned.

"You know I can't-"

"But you'll give points to Zabini won't you?"

Ron spoke for the first time since Hermione had arrived. They all stared at him.

"What?" Hermione questioned.

"Not this again" Ginny scoffed.

"What... happened with Zabini?"Parvati asked, glancing at Hermione.

"I don't know, ask Hermione" Ron said, glaring at her.

"Nothing happened"Ginny told before Hermione could speak. "Zabini and Malfoy were in the head compartment when me and Hermione got there. He saw Zabini sitting beside her and now won't listen when we tell him nothing happened"

"You didn't go with Hermione"Ron snapped.

"I was like 10 seconds behind her!"

"Nothing happened"Hermione told before they could start arguing.

"Why was he sitting beside you?"Parvati asked. Hermione glanced over and Parvati and Lavender both had terribly hidden smirks on their faces.

"He was offering a truce because he'd be at the head dorm with Malfoy and his friends often. That was it"She snapped.

"A truce?"Harry repeated, a bit suspicious.

"He wasn't serious, he was messing around"Ginny said before they could jump to conclusions.

"He was sitting right beside you! He must've said something else!"Ron snapped.

"What do you expect him to say!"Hermione barked. "Nothing happened so stop holding it over my head as if I kissed him!"

Ron let out a huff before standing. He didn't glance at any of them as he walked out of the room, the portrait closing behind him loudly. "Has he been upset the whole night?"Ginny asked Harry, glancing over at the portrait.

"He was mumbling something about traitor and all"Harry told.

"I woke up to him pacing at like 3 in the morning"Neville added, leaning back in his seat.

"But how are you sure Zabini wasn't offering a serious truce?"Parvati spoke again, her eyes darting from Hermione to Ginny.

"Parvati"Hermione spoke in a warning tone. There was a difference between a private conversation in their dorm and in front of the rest of their friends.

Parvati only smirked in return before turning to Lavender. Hooking her arm through Lavender's, she bid them good bye, and her and Lavender left the common room.

"That's... a bit strange. Coming from Zabini, I mean. I don't remember him getting involved a lot with Malfoy" Dean said.

"He's said his fair deal, don't you worry"Harry mumbled, remembering what he had said about Ginny at the beginning of 6th year.

Though Bloodtraitor wasn't as bad as Mudblood, Harry valued the Weasley family a lot, even before his feelings for Ginny were noticed.

"It doesn't matter now, does it?"Ginny shrugged. "What happened when they saw you? The Slytherin lot?" She asked, turning to Hermione.

Hermione scoffed, "They looked at me as if I had entered their territory! As if it wasn't my common room!"

"What do you expect from them? Hugs and kisses?" Harry gave her a sheepish grin as she huffed.

"I'm just hoping they'll be gone after Breakfast. I'll move back here if they stay any longer"

Having to run into them in corridors was bad enough without having them practically move in to her common room.
