The house phone of the Chatham house rings as Nora Walker answers the call.

Nora Walker: Hello? Hello, Sheriff. And where did you find it? I see. No. No, I don't know the place. He never mentioned it. I understand. Yes, that's fine. I don't know, um... I know my son did drugs on occasion, but I never saw steroids. You haven't mentioned if... there was evidence he was harmed. That boy Clay Jensen... you'll talk to him again, I hope? Thank you, Sheriff.

Ani & her mother are in the kitchen as Amara Josephine Achola is prepping Harrison's meal while Ani arranges his medicine. Ani tries to over hear Nora's conversation with the sheriff...

Amara Josephine Achola: Hey! Keep your mind on the medicine.

Ani Achola: Yes, Mum.

Amara Josephine Achola: Keep your head down, and leave this woman to her grief.

Amara Josephine hands Harrison's meal to Ani as they both make their way up to the stairs.

Nora Walker: Amara Josephine?

Amara Josephine Achola: Yes?

Nora Walker: They found blood on the ground.

Amara Josephine Achola: Oh, no. Upstairs.

Ani begins making her way up stairs but stop to hear her mother & Nora talk.

Nora Walker: Someone hurt my son.

Amara Josephine Achola: Oh, dear God.

While Clay was sitting down on the steps of his house drinking coffee, he received a text from Ani. In the outhouse, Justin is searching for something as he is making a complete mess in search for whatever he's searching for. Justin's phone ring as he answers it.

Justin Foley: Hey, Jess...

Clay Jensen: Justin, they found Bryce's...

Clay enter the room and sees the mess he made.

Clay Jensen: What the hell?

Justin Foley: Uh, it's Jess. Jess has just... she lost an earring. Yeah...

Clay Jensen: Justin, what the fuck?

Clay was looking at Justin's bed as he sees Tyler's gun that Justin was supposed to get rid of.

Justin Foley: Uh, I... I'll call you back, okay?

Justin hangs up his phone.

Clay Jensen: I thought you got rid of it last night.

Justin Foley: First guy didn't work out, okay? I will... I got it.

Clay Jensen: You can't just leave it lying around!

Justin Foley: Just chill. I got it.

Clay Jensen: They found his Range Rover and blood on the ground. They're calling it a homicide.

Justin Foley: Fuck!

Clay Jensen: They found drugs and... fingerprints.

Justin Foley: Drugs? What... What drugs?

Clay Jensen: She didn't say, but they found fingerprints that weren't his.

Justin Foley: Okay, well... That's all right, right? It's a car. It's got a ton of fingerprints. He probably drove his Hillcrest friends around.

Clay Jensen: Justin, my prints could be on it.

Justin Foley: Did you kill him?

Clay Jensen: Of course not.

Justin Foley: Then don't worry about it.

Clay Jensen: You don't... You don't want to know why my prints could be on it?

Justin Foley: No, I really don't.

After what happened with Tyler yesterday, I don't know how this situation can get any worse. Me & Alex arrived to school at the same time.

Alex Standall: How'd it go with Tyler?

Hannah Baker: He didn't do it, but he did found him and called the police.

Alex Standall: Shit, he found him?

Hannah Baker: He was gonna jump when he found him in the river.

Alex Standall: Fuck, poor Tyler.

Hannah Baker: How the ride along go?

Alex Standall: The cops found Bryce's car last night. They found drugs in his car.

Hannah Baker: Drugs?

Alex Standall: Yeah. What the fuck?

We both enter the school and see Alex's dad talking with Principal Bolan and other cops in the hallways.

Alex Standall: Hey, Dad. What's up?

Bill Standall: Just doing some business, buddy. Nothing to worry about. Hi, Hannah.

Hannah Baker: Hi, Deputy Standall.

We walk away from them.

Alex Standall: Fuck.

Hannah Baker: What's that all about?

We see some of the football players standing in the hallway as we go ask what's going on.

Alex Standall: Hey. Do you guys know what's going on?

Charlie St. George: They searched the football lockers this morning, Caught Luke with juice.

Alex Standall: Luke?

Hannah Baker: Shit.

Luke Holliday on steroids? I guess that makes sense, just by looking at his appearance.

Justin & Jessica stroll through the hallways as they see a poster to protest Bryce's funeral.

Justin Foley: You're gonna protest his funeral? I mean, Jess, come on. This is so fucked up.

Jessica Davis: This wasn't me!

Jessica takes the poster down as Alex & Hannah approach them.

Alex Standall: You guys, heads up if you have shit in your lockers. They're doing a search.

Justin Foley: Yeah, they already did, the football team.

Alex Standall: No, my dad's still here. They'll do the whole school, I promise.

Hannah Baker: They are?

Alex nods at me.

Justin Foley: Well, I've got nothing to hide.

Alex Standall: Well, good for you.

Alex then walks away.

Justin Foley: Why does he give a shit about a locker search?

Hannah Baker: I don't know.

Jessica Davis: Look at this, Han.

Jessica hands me a crumble up poster as I take a look at it. It says "Mourn The Survivors Not The Rapist! Protest Bryce Walker's Funeral This Sunday 11/11!".

Hannah Baker: Fucking Casey.

Jessica Davis: I'm gonna go talk to her.

Jessica heads off to talk to Casey.

Justin Foley: Something's up with Alex.

Hannah Baker: What do you mean?

Justin Foley: Let's follow him and find out.

We follow Alex around the hallways as he dumps something in the trash can. Justin takes it out of the trash and it's a red pouch. We open it up to see what's inside and I couldn't believe it what was inside, it was drugs. I text Clay & Ani to meet us in the library. When they arrived, we showed them what we found. And Clay couldn't believe it too.

Clay Jensen: I don't believe it. Not Alex.

Hannah Baker: I couldn't believe it either.

Clay passes it to Ani as she sees for herself as well.

Ani Achola: "Testosterone cypionate."

Justin Foley: Steroids. Bryce was dealing them.

Hannah Baker: Alex told me that the cops found Bryce's car last night and there were drugs inside.

Clay Jensen: Why would Bryce deal? He didn't need the money.

Justin Foley: Maybe it was about control. Anyone who bought from him, he had a hand on them.

Clay Jensen: But Alex, he's a mellow guy.

Ani Achola: (Scoffs) Alex is mellow?

Hannah Baker: If only you've know him before our attempt.

Meanwhile, Jessica goes to H.O. to confront Casey as the rest of the girls & Tyler are working on the posters.

Jessica Davis: They're searching lockers today.

Casey Ford: Good. Find a lot of those.

Tyler Down: Wait, they told me that you wanted to do this.

Casey Ford: We don't need her permission. The group decided.

Jessica Davis: The group did not decide, you decided. You just want to piss people off.

Casey Ford: Yes, I fucking do. People should be pissed off! This doesn't end 'cause they put a fucking rapist in the ground.

Jessica Davis: My rapist! Mine & Hannah's rapist, okay? And I say we can't do this. We can't be this!

Casey Ford: 'Cause you want to protect your rapist, and that's messed up.

Jessica Davis: No, because there's human decency!

Casey Ford: I think I understand. You're still a victim and Hannah probably is too. Well, you'll know where to find the survivors on Sunday.

It's lunch time. Me, Ani, & Clay went to talk to Alex in the cafeteria and ask him about the steroids. He was not happy about it.

Alex Standall: This is fucked up. This is like an invasion of privacy.

Clay Jensen: He got it out of a garbage can.

Alex Standall: FUCK JUSTIN! He's gonna rat people out about drugs? Really?

Hannah Baker: He's only looking out for you, Alex.

Clay Jensen: Are you... Are you okay?

Alex Standall: Are you? Are you okay? Ani, are you? Hannah, are you? FUCK YOU GUYS!

Hannah Baker: Seriously, we're trying to help you.

It got quite for a second.

Clay Jensen: Alex...

Alex Standall: Just... just don't tell my dad, okay?

Now he went from being angry to being worried.

Hannah Baker: Is it about Bryce?

Alex Standall: No. I didn't buy from Bryce. Luke hooked me up with a guy.

Ani Achola: But why?

Alex Standall: Why do you think? Just look at me.

Ani Achola: I think you're very handsome. I think you're adorable.

Alex Standall: Yeah. Well, you're the one girl in this county that would go for a skinny, sad kid. And you went for Clay, so...

Oh no, he didn't. It got awkward for a second.

Clay Jensen: I'm gonna let that go because you're under stress.

Alex Standall: Wouldn't you have done anything to have Hannah love you back? To choose you over Zach, or stupid Justin?

Me & Clay look at each other. I know what Alex meant by that. He was referring to our relation before Jessica's party. Clay was very shy when I first met him. I thought back to all the moments we had sophomore year. I'm glad that Clay didn't change a thing about him.

Alex Standall: Even before I shot myself, it's like the pieces never worked. And they're never going to. The quiet boy. The gentle one.

We see Jessica coming in the cafeteria and by the look on Alex's face, he still cares about her. Alex would go on to tell us that he started to take steroids after he broke up with Jessica. He had some insecurity because he thought Jessica wasn't really attracted to him. So no, Alex didn't buy drugs from Bryce. But Montgomery de la Cruz did. We go to the hallways where more cops have shown up. We see Monty at his locker as we watch him...

Ani Achola: The police took Luke, but he didn't buy from Bryce.

Hannah Baker: But Monty did.

We see him taking out a big brown paper bag.

Ani Achola: He's clearing out.

Monty is looking very suspicious. He begins heading out as we follow him out. We see him heading to the parking as he goes to his jeep and puts the brown paper bag in the back of his jeep and then leaves. After he was gone, we up go to his jeep to dig around. Ani unzips the back plastic window of Monty's jeep and takes out the brown paper bag and takes out what's inside of it. There was answers for exams and an envelope that says "HE WON'T TALK". Ani takes out a Hillcrest I.D. for a student name Winston Williams.

Ani Achola: Wait. What do you think Monty doesn't want Winston talking about?

Hannah Baker: Why would Monty have a Hillcrest I.D. & talk about what?

Clay Jensen: This was on the seat.

Clay finds a botan, but there's something on it.

Hannah Baker: Is that... blood?

School PA: This is a lockdown. Return to your classrooms immediately.

The school is going into lockdown by order of the police. We all head back and the cops begin searching the lockers. I go to my locker where I find a police officer standing by my locker.

Sheriff Diaz: Is this your locker, young lady?

Hannah Baker: Yes.

Sheriff Diaz: I'm Sheriff Diaz. I'm gonna need for you to open up your locker.

So he's the sheriff, huh. I put the combination on and open up my locker. The sheriff begins to search my locker. All I had in there were my textbooks. He found nothing. He finished searching...

Sheriff Diaz: Can we go somewhere private, so we can have a chat between the 2 of us, Miss Baker.

And he knows who I am, of course. We go to an empty classroom where I take a seat while he remains standing.

Hannah Baker: So, you know who I am.

Sheriff Diaz: The whole town does after your suicide attempt last year. Then of course the lawsuit that went to trial last spring made you kinda famous.

Hannah Baker: Wasn't my intent.

Sheriff Diaz: I would like to ask you some questions about Bryce Walker.

Shit. This is the last thing I need. The Sheriff takes out his notepad and a pen.

Sheriff Diaz: We're you at the Homecoming game last week?

Hannah Baker: No. I was out of town.

Sheriff Diaz: Out of town?

Hannah Baker: Yes. I was in Oakland. Took my mother to the airport.

Sheriff Diaz: Around what time did you take your mother?

Hannah Baker: Like around 9:00 pm.

Sheriff Diaz: And what time did you return?

Hannah Baker: Like, around 10:30 pm.

Sheriff Diaz: And your mother is Olivia Baker.

Hannah Baker: Correct. She moved to New York last Spring.

Sheriff Diaz: And you stayed instead of going with her after what happened to you?

Hannah Baker: Yeah, I couldn't leave my friends behind after what they've done for me. And Jess needed me.

Sheriff Diaz: Jess, as in Jessica Davis?

Hannah Baker: Yes.

Sheriff Diaz: Why was your mother in town?

Hannah Baker: The house where we used to live, the one where I tried killing myself. Finally found a buyer. She had to come so she & my dad can finalize the deal and sign some papers.

Sheriff Diaz: Okay. When was the last time you've seen or talked to Bryce Waker?

Hannah Baker: (Sighs) I last talked to him at his trial. The last time I saw him was at Spring Fling.

Sheriff Diaz: The same Spring Fling where that false alarm happened?

Hannah Baker: Yes. I wasn't there when the police got there, I left early.

Sheriff Diaz: And you've had no contact with Bryce Walker since then?

Hannah Baker: That is correct, sheriff.

Sheriff Diaz: You're friends with Clay Jensen, correct?

Hannah Baker: Yes. We've been friends since I moved here.

Why is he bringing up Clay?

Sheriff Diaz: Were you in contact with him on Homecoming night?

Hannah Baker: I-I... I was. We texted. I asked how's the game going.

Sheriff Diaz: We're you aware of what Jessica Davis was planning to do before the game.

Hannah Baker: I did. I'm a member of Hand Off Our Bodies.

Sheriff Diaz: But you couldn't come to the game because you were taking your mother to the airport in Oakland.

Hannah Baker: Yeah.

Sheriff Diaz: Now for a follow up of your where about, you've said that you came back around 10:30 pm.

Hannah Baker: Yes.

Sheriff Diaz: Where were you on that night between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m?

Hannah Baker: I was home.

The sheriff was done asking questions as he let Hannah go on with her day. The police searched everyone's locker. Bill Standall searched Clay's locker while other officer searched Justin's, Jessica's, & Tyler's locker. As for Tony, the officer that searched his locker made a mess as he just threw Tony's stuff on the ground, much to Tony's displeasure. After school, Clay & Ani stayed behind to spy on Monty. Monty gets in his jeep and starts driving off as Clay starts his car and decides to follow him. Once they arrived to Monty's house, they started to stake out the place waiting for Monty to make his next move. Ani & Clay both a nap in the backseat. An hour later, it's night time and suddenly they hear something coming from Monty's house.

Mr. de la Cruz: Get your ass over here! Get your ass over here! Fucking little criminal! Where are you? I'll split your head open, you little shit! God damn it!

Clay Jensen: What the hell?

Clay & Ani step out of the car and sees Monty's father coming out of the house all drunk as he throws down and brake a beer bottle.

Mr. de la Cruz: Hey! Hey, I see you. Don't move!

Mr. de la Cruz spot Clay & Ani and begins to walk towards them, when he suddenly just passes down on the ground. Monty mow comes out out of his car.

Monty de la Cruz: Not so tough now, you fucking piece of shit!

Monty kicks over his drunken passed out father as he takes out his baton. Monty then sees Clay & Ani as he starts making his way towards them.

Ani Achola: Do we call the police?

Clay Jensen: I don't know. Just get in the car.

Ani Achola: You get in the car! I'm not getting in the car if you are not getting in the car.

Monty has approached them.

Monty de la Cruz: What the fuck are you doing here?

Clay Jensen: We... Nothing.

Ani Achola: Is that blood?

Ani was pointing to the baton that they found with Hannah earlier in the day.

Monty de la Cruz: What's it to you?

Clay Jensen: Is it Bryce's?

Monty de la Cruz: What? No, it's mine. And his. You want a taste?

Clay Jensen: No, thanks.

Monty de la Cruz: He was my best friend, asshole. Leave me the fuck alone!

Monty head back to inside his house.

Ani Achola: I really need to get home.

Clay Jensen: Yeah.

Meanwhile, Justin goes to meet with the dealer that Tyler bought the guns from in a alley. He gives Tyler's gun back to the dealer under the condition that he doesn't sell another gun to another kid anymore. Later that night, Clay looks up Winston Williams on the internet. His research finds that the person on the ID Card and the person with the name aren't the same person. He DM's Winton to meet up and he agreed. The next day, Clay & Ani meet with Winston at Monet's and tell him about the I.D. that they found in Monty's possession. Winton decides to come clean...

Winton Williams: Brian Chu. He took the SAT for me.

Clay Jensen: How did Montgomery get it?

Winston Williams: Bryce Walker got it from Brian.

Clay Jensen: Why did Bryce want it?

Winston Williams: Leverage. So I wouldn't talk.

Ani Achola: About what?

Winston was hesitant.

Clay Jensen: Dude, Bryce is dead.

Winston Williams: It's not about that. I made the deal with Bryce to keep quiet, but really it was for Monty.

Ani Achola: You know Bryce from Hillcrest? How do you know Monty?

Winston Williams: We met at a party.

Winton would go on to tells Clay & Ani that there was a party this past summer with kids from Hillcrest, Bryce brought Monty along. Winton tells them that he hooked up with Monty much to Clay's & Ani's shock. Winston saw Alex showing up to the party to meet with Bryce. Later on, Monty was leaving the party as Winston tells him it was nice to meet him and asks if they can hang out sometime. Monty responded by calling Winston a homophobic slur and beat him up in front of everyone. Bryce tries helping Monty out by offering Winston $2,000 and then $3,000 more to make Winston forget that it ever happened. Bryce apologizes for Monty's behavior and Winston makes it $5,000 more with the $2,000 instead which Bryce accepts. Before that happened, Winston saw Alex buying steroids from Bryce.

Clay Jensen: Are you sure it was Alex?

Winston Williams: Yeah.

Clay Jensen: But Bryce and Alex didn't know what happened with you and Monty? And Bryce got the ID to keep you quiet?

Winston Williams: Bryce brought me the cash. He said he got the ID from Brian and we didn't talk about it anymore. I'm fourth-generation Princeton. Unless that gets out.

Ani Achola: You kept Monty's secret, even though he beat the shit out of you?

Winston Williams: That's a secret you keep. So... use it well, okay?

Winston gets up and leaves as Clay is still trying to process with what he just learned about Monty.

Ani Achola: Monty's a sick boy. And violent as shit. But he hasn't got a motive.

Clay Jensen: How could Bryce not find out?

Ani Achola: I don't think he knew.

Clay Jensen: Because then you would've known.

Ani Achola: Clay!

Clay Jensen: Forget it.

Ani Achola: Alex lied to us. About buying from Bryce.

Clay Jensen: Yeah.

Today, I decide to get some work done at Caleb's gym. I'm hitting the punching bag as I look through the mirror Clay & Ani arriving. Not long after, Alex shows up. Clay & Ani tell me that Alex lied about buying the steroids from Bryce. They explain that they've met with Winston Williams, Clay told me last night that it wasn't the same person that was on the Hillcrest I.D. Winston told them Monty beat him up at a Hillcrest party this past summer and Bryce paid him off to keep quiet and Alex was with him. Ani came up with a plan. The plan: Clay distracts Alex, while Ani takes Alex's phone from his gym bag. Well, here goes nothing. Clay goes up to Alex who's doing squats while me & Ani work on our leg as we watch from afar...

Clay Jensen: Hey, man.

Alex Standall: Hey. You work out here?

Clay Jensen: Uh, I was... I don't know, self-improvement, you know?

Alex Standall: I don't recommend illegal supplements, for what it's worth.

Clay Jensen: No. But, will you show me, like, how to do all this shit? Justin is always like, "Squats are key," and all I can think about is him taking a crap.

Alex Standall: It's actually somewhat like that. Uh, here, you should probably start with just the bar.

Oh, my god. Clay & Alex look adorable working out together. Me & Ani now go to join them.

Ani Achola: It's my 2 favorite sad, skinny guys.

Hannah Baker: Better make that our favorite sad, skinny guys.

Alex Standall: It's too soon to joke.

Hannah Baker: We love you, and you know it.

Ani Achola: And you 2 working out together...

Clay Jensen: Please don't say we're cute or adorable.

Ani Achola: ...are so fucking hot! I can't even stand it. I'm overwhelmed. What do you think, Hannah?

Hannah Baker: They do look adorable.

Clay just rolls his eyes as Alex begins to teach him how to squat.

Alex Standall: Feet shoulder-width apart. Yeah, and then, okay. Core tight.

Clay Jensen: Sorry, core?

Me & Ani begin to walk away as Ani was able to swipe Alex's phone. We both go to the locker room and check out Alex's phone, but it's password protected. We each tried putting in a password, no luck. Clay then enters the locker room...

Ani Achola: Password.

Clay Jensen: Try "Jessica."

Hannah Baker: That's 7. How about her birthday?

Clay Jensen: Well, I don't know her...

Ani Achola: I do.

Ani puts in Jessica's birthday and Alex's phone is unlocked.

Ani Achola: Yeah, that's it.

She opens up a app that's called WireNow. We see all the money he's been wiring.

Ani Achola: Yeah. He was lying to us. Every few weeks, $100 to Bryce. Wait, hold on. Later in the summer the payments doubled. He sends $300 to somebody named Melody Scott? And it goes to $200 to Bryce, but still every 2 weeks.

Hannah Baker: Who's Melody Scott?

Ani Achola: We will find out.

Ani clicks on Melody Scott for information pops. Ani takes her phone out and dials her number.

Ani Achola: Here. Get this back in the bag.

Ani gives Clay Alex's phone sneaks it back to his backpack. After, we grab our our stuff and leave as Ani tells us who Melody Scott is after her little phone call.

Clay Jensen: A prostitute?

Hannah Baker: Like a actual prostitute?

Ani Achola: I'm, like, 90% certain.

Clay Jensen: We have prostitutes in Evergreen?

Ani Achola: Shocked. Shocked!

Hannah Baker: Clay, there are like hookers all over.

Ani Achola: I think they perhaps prefer "escort."

Clay Jensen: That's just ridiculous, 'cause no one's getting escorted anywhere.

Hannah Baker: Only Clay Jensen would say that.

Clay Jensen: But how do you even know...

Ani Achola: Well, she said that she only worked out from her home. No "outcalls." So, she's an escort or a masseuse. Or perhaps an aesthetician. Or a medium of some sort. But when I asked for an appointment, she had me confirm that I wasn't in law enforcement.

Hannah Baker: She's a hooker.

Ani Achola: So it's all sort of clicked.

Clay Jensen: Okay, but we're not going there. We know enough, right? Alex went to a prostitute. Bryce blackmailed him.

Hannah Baker: That does that sound like Bryce to you?

Ani Achola: It seems like Bryce would celebrate him for scoring with a pro.

Clay Jensen: That's the most anti-Bryce thing you've said in days.

Ani Achola: Oh, good God, it wasn't anti-Bryce. If anything, it was anti-men.

Hannah Baker: I agree.

Clay Jensen: But, I mean, she's not going to tell us anything. There's, like, patient-client confidentiality.

Ani Achola: Well, you'll just have to play along then, until she talks.

Hannah Baker: Wait, what?

Clay Jensen: We're not gonna... Wait, what?

That's right, we're going to talk to a hooker. But before we do, I drive home to take a shower because I was sweating my ass off at the gym. After I was done, Clay & Ani pick me up as we now head to Melody Scott's home where she works. I have to admit, she's a very beautiful woman. She let's us in her house as we sit on her couch and she offered us drinks.

Clay Jensen: (Clearing Throat) We'll pay you for your time.

Melody Scott: Okay. And... what will we be... doing with that time?

Ani Achola: Our friend recommended you.

Melody Scott: Who's your friend?

Hannah Baker: Alex. His name's Alex. I think you saw him last summer?

Melody Scott: Sure. I remember Alex. And why did he... refer you to me?

Clay Jensen: Well, um... to be honest, he didn't refer us exactly. He mentioned you. And we're worried about him, he's not in a great place.

Melody Scott: I'm sorry to hear that.

Ani Achola: We lost a friend of ours a few days ago. His name was Bryce Walker. We think he might've known about Alex coming to see you.

Melody Scott: He did. I knew Bryce well. He brought Alex here the first time.

Hannah Baker: He did?

Melody tell us that Bryce brought Alex to her, even paid for it. I can't believe Alex would even let Bryce pay for sex with a hooker. Hell, I can't believe he would even hang out Bryce after what he did to both me & Jess. After our talk with Melody, I called Alex and told him to meet us at Monet's.

Alex Standall: Luke didn't want to get caught selling, so he sent me directly to his dealer who'd seen me around with my dad and said no way he was dealing to a cop's kid. So, I went to Bryce, 'cause I knew that's where Monty got his shit.

Clay Jensen: How did you get from buying from him to going to a hooker together?

Alex Standall: It was stupid. It was just one time.

Hannah Baker: She said you went back a second time alone.

Alex Standall: Yes.

Clay Jensen: And after that, Bryce was... blackmailing you?

Alex Standall: No.

Alex would tell us that Bryce encourages Alex to come and help him mess up his father's house as revenge for leaving his Mom and kicking Bryce out. Unfortunately, it was the wrong the house. It gets worse, they were caught by a kid who lived there. Alex told us that Bryce told the kid "Speak, and you die.", the kid was so scared that he peed his pants and started crying. They left before the parents woke up and sees them. After that, Alex ends things with Bryce. Bryce told Alex that the discount will stop and he'll go back to charging him $200, but Alex didn't care. We went to Eisenhower Park as Alex finished telling us everything as Ani & Alex sit on the swings while me & Clay stand next to them.

Alex Standall: I don't think I'll ever forget that little kid's face. I'm sure he won't forget mine. After that, I didn't get the discount, which is why the payments went up. He never blackmailed me. He never said a thing about anything.

Clay Jensen: Wait, so are you... Are you using now, or are you clean?

Alex Standall: Nobody's clean.

Alex gets up from the swing and begins to walk away.

Hannah Baker: Alex, you don't have to go.

Alex Standall: Yeah. Well, I'm not going to stay.

Clay Jensen: Alex, I don't want you to... I don't want you to hurt yourself.

Alex Standall: Yeah, I've run out of ways to do that.

It made me a little sad hearing that from Alex. Clay then sits down on the swing next to Ani as he begins to wonder...

Clay Jensen: Do you guys think I'm a sad, skinny kid?

Ani Achola: Ah... I think you are a lean... but right-sized... very handsome, very complicated kid.

Hannah Baker: I don't think you're sad, Clay. But I agree with Ani.

Clay Jensen: I'll take it.

As it got dark, Clay returned home as Justin was already in bed reading a issue of Alien Killer Robots.

Justin Foley: How's Alex?

Clay Jensen: Messed up. But aren't we all?

Justin Foley: You know, I really didn't think he had anything to do with Bryce, but... drugs of any kind, man, they fuck you up.

Clay Jensen: Yeah.

Justin Foley: I'll have you know, the gun is gone for good.

Clay Jensen: Awesome. Thanks.

Justin Foley: You seem awfully dark tonight.

Clay Jensen: How are you not?

Justin Foley: I guess I am. But I'm alive, so I figured I'm ahead of the game.

Clay Jensen: Right. I don't want to believe someone we know killed Bryce. But it seems like everyone we know had a reason.

Justin Foley: Everyone's got their shit.

Clay Jensen: Yes.

At the Chatham house, Nora decided to tell her father about Bryce's death because the funeral is tomorrow afternoon. Amara Josephine is currently fixing up Harrison's tube...

Amara Josephine Achola: Is that comfortable?

Harrison Chatham: It's fine! Fine.

Nora enters the room.

Nora Walker: Is he awake?

Amara Josephine Achola: Yes, but he's just taken his medicine. Excuse me.

Nora Walker: Stay. Please. This will only take a moment.

Nora goes up to her father as she sits down next to him on his bed.

Nora Walker: Father... Harrison... I'm afraid your grandson is dead. We're attending his funeral tomorrow.

Harrison Chatham: My grandson?

Nora Walker: Bryce.

Harrison Chatham: Is dead?

Nora Walker: Yes.

Harrison Chatham: What the... What the hell happened? What have you done? Where's Bryce?

Nora Walker: He's with the mortician, being prepared for tomorrow.

Harrison Chatham: What have you done to him?

Harrison tries to get up.

Nora Walker: Dad, please, lie down.

Harrison Chatham: Get the fuck out of my way, I need to see my grandson! Where's my cane? Bryce! Get me my cane, God damn it. I need my cane.

Nora Walker: You are not to stand. Doctor's orders.

Harrison Chatham: Where's my cane?

Amara Josephine goes up to Harrison as she tries to calm him down.

Amara Josephine Achola: Perhaps if you get him his cane it will help calm him down.

Nora Walker: I had the maid store it in the carriage house.

Amara Josephine Achola: Amorowat!

Ani was called into the room as they ask her to bring Harrison's cane from the garage. Ani goes to look for the cane as she begins to look at the cars that are stored there. Ani finally finds the cane, but she can't help herself into looking at one more car. She sees a car that's covered up as she lifts up the sheets. Ani was shocked to see which car it was. It wasn't just any car. It was Tony Padilla's Mustang.
