Daisy's POV

"So, what was he like?" I heard Jemma asking Trip as I approached them from down the hall on the Bus.

"Daisy's dad?" Trip asked for clarification.

"Yes," Jemma confirmed.

"That man was out of his damn mi –" Trip stopped talking as I entered the room and he hurried to change his words. "Hey. Hi, Daisy," he said.

"Hey, yourself. Mission prep in five, cargo hold.," I told them.

"Right. Roger that," Jemma said. I watched as her and Trip shared a look.

"Talking about my dad?" I asked, they didn't need to know I already knew they had been.

"I'm sorry. It must be so –" Simmons started to say.

"Messed up?" I guessed.

"I was going to use the off color version of "messed up," but it felt inappropriate," she replied.

"Oh, it's appropriate. My dad, Ward, The Obelisk, the city, it's all messed up. And...I just – I can't shake this vibe that something really bad is about to happen," I said.

"You mean like someone getting shot?" said Trip. "Yeah, I got that covered already, girl, so you can lose that vibe. We're good," he added with a smile. I rolled my eyes at him.

"That's right. Yeah. Nothing but positive thoughts from here on out," Jemma chimed in as she reached down and rapped her knuckles on the table, knocking on wood. "That's not wood, is it?" She awkwardly took her tray of supplies as Trip laughed at her a bit, before starting toward the cargo hold. After he walked away I extended my own hand down to the table and gave it a knock of luck as well then took a deep sigh.

"Here's what we know. HYDRA's on the move. They have The Obelisk and an expert who knows how to use it. We can't let that happen, obviously," Coulson said once everyone was gathered.

"Use it how?" Hunter asked.

"Based on our latest intel there's something very powerful inside it, a weapon," Coulson answered; none of them knowing that the power inside the city was never meant to be destructive (in the right hands of course; Daisy's hands that is).

"Are we talking chemical, biological, energy based...?" Mack asked.

"Could be anything, it's alien," Fitz told him.

"While Simmons and I were undercover at HYDRA, Whitehall was looking to create an extension level event, to kill millions of people. We have to assume this weapon has the potential to do that," Bobbi added.

"Because bad guys love their WMDs. Trick is, to activate The Obelisk HYDRA has to take it to a specific place. It's like they have the keys to launch a nuclear warhead –" Coulson said.

"Now they need the lock – a temple inside the city," I finished for him.

"Any idea where this temple is?" Simmons asked.

"Glad you asked – no. But, it's in the city and we now know where that is. Even better, HYDRA doesn't, Fitz," Coulson moved out of the way and Fitz started up the holographic towers. It displayed a Shield case file S.11.2.

I walked to the file and spread my hands throwing up a display of the globe.

"On our mission to Australia we hacked a military satellite network. Using that we ran a multispectral topographic scan of the Earth, miles deep through the oceanic crust looking to match ancient rock formations with the 3-D model of the city. And we found this," I told everyone as I focused on one area of the globe in particular.

"Isn't that in the Bermuda Triangle? Cause that would explain a lot," Trip commented.

"Actually, it doesn't have anything to do with the triangle. We solved that back in the '80s," Coulson said.

"Ah, Atlantis?" Trip guessed.

"Try Puerto Rico," Coulson shrugged.

I zoomed in on the picture.

"These white markers represent vertical air shafts that are close to the surface. Possible entry points for the city, but most of them are under the ocean floor," I stated as Coulson moved closer to the image.

"Except for one. Here in old San Juan, where we'll enter the underground city. A survey team will test the tunnel's structural integrity then locate the temple," Coulson explained.

"And then what, sir?" Jemma asked.

"We blow the hell out of it," he replied. Something about that didn't sit right with me but I had no idea why.

"What about The Obelisk? It's still dangerous all on its own," Bobbi pointed out.

"One crisis at a time," Coulson said.

"More news on the investigation of the horrific murder suicide of Massachusetts Senator Christian Ward," a reporter was saying as May and I stared at the monitor. "FBI sources claim that while the Senator did leave a recorded confession other evidence found at the scene suggests another party may have been involved. Meanwhile, Senator Ward's..."

"He did it. You know Ward did it," I said to May.

"No doubt in my mind," she nodded.

"The Senator should've let us help," I said glumly.

"We tried, but he wanted nothing to do with us. All we can do now is try and catch Ward," May replied.

"Or put the son of a bitch down!" I exclaimed. May gave me a look as Coulson walked up behind us.

"Change of plans. We're splitting up the teams," he said.

"We're going after Ward?" I asked as we hurried after him.

"No, we're not. HYDRA found Raina. Tried to grab her in Vancouver," he told us.

"Grab her. Not kill her?" May asked.

"They're grasping. HYDRA knows we found the city. Maybe they think she can help them," Coulson answered.

"We're pulling an extraction," May said with a nod.

"And you're leading it. I'll head on to the city in the Quinjet with Bobbi, Mack and Fitz-Simmons. We need to locate that temple," Coulson instructed but I frowned.

"So, wait – so, you want me to go with them?" I stared at him in shock as I glanced at May.

"We're all anxious to see the city but I'd like you to run point on Raina's interrogation. I think she'll respond to you," Coulson stared at me.

"Yes, sir. I'll spread the word," I glanced back at them both then moved away.

*****

"All right. Time to go. I'll see you in San Juan," Coulson said as he looked at me.

I gave him a very nervous look, quickly glanced at May next to him, then threw my arms around him in a hug.

"See you there...sir," I said after a few minutes.

*****

"Lanyard, please," I heard one of the Koenig brothers say as I knocked on the door.

I rolled my eyes and held my lanyard up to the pad.

"Agent Daisy," a robotic voice called out. The door unlocked and Koenig answered it.

"Come on, Billy. You can't just look through the damn peephole?" I told him. "We need to move," I added, looking at Raina. "Come on."

I led the way out of the apartment, followed by Billy Koenig and Raina. Suddenly Agent 33 appeared in front of me, so I reacted on instinct and hits Agent 33's arms knocking the gun off target and pinning her against the wall.

"Go for the stairs!" I shouted.

"Stairs, copy!" Billy said as he and Raina turned in the opposite direction and ran down the hall. Agent 33 and I fought for a while but I managed to get the gun off of her but it landed in the middle of the floor. We looked at each other, then the gun, then made our move. I managed to get their first but she knocked into me sending us bursting through a closed door. We fought hand to hand until I was finally able to pin Agent 33's arm and kicked her down to her knees.

"Stand down, Agent 33! We can help you!" I exclaimed.

Agent 33 twisted quickly and punched me in the stomach causing me to drop Agent 33's arm. She then ran up a wall and spun herself over me, using this to take me to the floor. I made it to the gun but Agent 33 kicked it out of my hand. She then went about handily beating up on me, not that I couldn't handle a few hits. She picked up the gun and pointed it at me.

"I don't need your help," Agent 33 said.

I heard a male voice grunt as Agent 33 was tackled from behind. Her head hit the floor hard knocking her out as Hunter jumped up.

"There's more coming. We need to –" He looked down and saw Agent 33 with May's scarred face and lost his train of thought. "What the hell is that?"

"May's evil twin, formerly known as Agent 33," I told him as I got off the floor.

"I thought the Koenig's were creepy," Hunter commented.

"Tell Coulson we're on our way," I instructed.

"Yes, ma'am," he replied. I rolled my eyes at him before walking out of the apartment.

*****

"Corner, two men wearing classic HYDRA black, trying desperately hard not to look conspicuous," Hunter said as he stopped Raina and I.

"And failing. Where's May?" I asked as I glanced at the men.

"Good question. I'll go check," Hunter walked away as I took his position looking at the HYDRA guys and guarding Raina.

"Shied must be quite happy," Raina said. I looked back at her. "You're plan of dangling me like bait seemed to work."

"I thought Whitehall wanted to kill you, not kidnap you," I commented.

"Something must've changed his mind," Raina said with a shrug.

"Maybe he thinks you know something about The Obelisk," I glanced back at her again. "How it works."

"Are you saying Whitehall has The Diviner?" Raina asked me.

"Someone give that girl a new flower dress," I rolled my eyes.

"Well, that changes things," she said with wide eyes.

"How so?" I asked.

"They don't want to kill me, they need me," Raina relied.

"Need you for what?"

"I can hold The Diviner." I stared at her in shock.

"You mean the thing that turns people to stone, you can touch it?" I asked.

"You don't believe me," she smirked.

"Honestly, everything that we've been through I don't know what to believe anymore," I stated.

"When you hold it, these symbols appear. There's a pull to them. Like a sense of where The Diviner belongs," she said.

"Sounds a little ridiculous to me," I scoffed.

"It's alien technology. The Diviner reads your DNA to determine if you're worthy of its power. You'll understand when you touch it," said Raina.

"No, thanks. I'd rather not die just yet," I fibbed, she didn't need to know about my history with dying.

"You wouldn't, not according to your father. He believes you're worthy, too," Raina tilted her head at me.

"Listen, if you think you're gonna trick me into touching that thing, you're as crazy as he is," I told her.

"It's not crazy. It's our destiny," she said, turning and running away from me. "I'm over here!" The two HYDRA thugs heard her and jumped into motion. "I'm over here!"

They pulled their guns then ran into the road, to promptly be hit by a big black van and sent flying. The doors opened up and I saw Hunter and Sam Koenig inside.

"Found May," Hunter grinned at me.

"Get in!" May ordered.

They pulled Raina into the van as I followed after.

*****

"My very own Shield ID," Raina said as she held hers up to me as I walked over to where she was sitting in the living room area of the Bus. "We match." I didn't say anything as I leaned against the couch. "I'm sorry for trying to run. I just got swept up in the moment."

"You're lucky Coulson's the forgiving type," I told her.

"Actually I fell very lucky we found each other. Your father's told me so much about you," she said.

"It's funny since I've never met him," I replied, doing my best to keep any emotion out of my voice.

"He cares about you a great deal."

"That's sweet. He also killed a whole bunch of people. He almost killed my friend Trip," I retorted.

"Does he get emotional? Yes. Violent, even? Yes. But he's also...quite misunderstood," Raina said slowly.

"Then help me understand him. Where did you two meet?"

"I technically haven't met him. Just heard his voice, guiding me. The first time was in Thailand. I was just a petty con artist, scamming tourists, running with a bunch of freaks, as we liked to call ourselves."

"My father was one of your freaks?" I asked, deciding to ignore the bit about hearing voices. I didn't want to think on it but I couldn't help but remember hearing someone speak when I had discovered the secret passageway the other night.

"No. He took us in, guided us to a camp for people like us...showed us we weren't freaks at all. Before I met your father I was a lost soul with no clue of where I belonged," Raina said.

"The daughter he never had," I scoffed, though I was curious to know more about this camp.

"No. No one could ever replace you, Daisy. You're all he wants. Be honest, Daisy. Haven't you ever felt lost...or had that feeling that you were a part of something bigger? Like you were special?"

"When you say "special" what you really mean is "alien"?" I asked.

"Is that what you believe? I'm human, Daisy. I just have the potential to be more. But The Diviner? Now that is most definitely alien." I ignored the fact she hadn't mentioned whether I was human or not.

"Where do you get this stuff? My father?" I asked instead.

"Partly. But my grandmother came from a long line of special people who believed in a story. About the blue angels that fell from the heavens. The ancients called them the Kree."

"And what do the Kree want?" I wanted to know. (Sidenote: I decided to keep the Kree in the story instead of just making it all about the Greek Gods and Goddesses since I want to keep the episode coming up with Lady Sif and the Kree warrior so basically the Kree believe the prophecy about Thalia they just think she will be the Destroyer and planned to track her down and use her for their own purposes. I think I will be making the city tho a Greek one not Kree since I plan to have Daisy fill it with different humans and species of aliens and halfbloods etc eventually - so if anyone has any suggestions on who they think wld end up living in the city let me know! Definitely thinking J'onn and his father from supergirl - since I want to have it to where she saves his father from dying)

"Change. That's why they left The Diviner, as a guide to the temple, so the worthy would inherit the Earth," Raina said. (In my version it was created by halfbloods not the Kree but that's just what Raina has heard and why it glows orange for her like the beserker staff does, but glows gold when Daisy touches it.)

"And do you know where this temple is?" I asked her.

"That's what The Diviner shows you. Only the worthy are allowed inside to witness its true power," she gave me one of her devious smiles.

"And what happens to the people who aren't worthy?" I frowned.

She shrugged.

"I hope they've said their goodbyes." (Again, nothing would/will actually happen it's all just what people believe at this point and only Zeus and the other gods really know that it's only purpose is to find the god/goddess referred to in the prophecy and unlock their full powers - in this case; Thalia.)

*****

"We can't let them go down there, May. We have to stop them!" I exclaimed as May and I walked into the Command Center on the Bus.

"Calm down. You can't let Raina get into your head," she replied as she pulled up some sort of map on the holotable.

"She's not lying. Look, she said The Diviner was meant to guide the worthy to the temple. You see this?" I pointed to a big red dot on the map. "It's the same symbol I saw on The Obelisk. It's got to be the temple!"

"You're sure?" May asked.

"Trust me. It is seared into my brain," I decided not to mention that something about it seemed to be calling out to me as I pulled up a notification system on the computer. "We have to warn Coulson now. Something bad is about to happen." The computer beeped and showed a red warning: No signal. I slammed my hand on the table in frustration. "Damn it! Why isn't this working?" I said as in the back of my mind I felt my phone vibrating. I rolled my eyes. It was probably Natasha and the others. I was still not responding but that didn't stop them from messaging me every time my emotions were getting the better of me. It wasn't that I didn't appreciate the effort I just had no idea what I was supposed to tell them. Especially since half of it was classified and the other half deeply personal. I didn't think they were the type to judge even if I did turn out to be some sort of alien considering Lucifer was the Devil and Thor and Loki were also aliens but that wasn't really the point...

"Getting some kind of interference," May said.

All of a sudden a loud buzzer noise sounded out as warnings appeared on the screens, saying: Incoming Transmission. A voice came over the speakers in The Bus, a voice that I instantly recognized as Whitehall's.

"Shield 6-1-6 do not engage your defenses or you will be shot out of the sky."

*****

"There's HYDRA Quinjets outside the windows on both sides," Trip said once the others had joined us.

"Let us step on it, shall we?" said Hunter.

"You have someone aboard that I want, a woman named Raina. I'm going to send over a representative to get her. Any attempt to evade or retaliate will be met with hostile fire," Whitehall instructed. I gritted my teeth, hating the sound of his voice. "Uncloak and prepare to be boarded."

"Destiny calls," Raina commented with a smug smirk as she leaned in the doorway.

*****

"I'm not going to give up the lives of everyone on this plane for Raina," May said as she stalked toward the spiral staircase with her gun drawn. The rest of us followed after her with our guns out as well. "She's not worth it."

"HYDRA already has The Obelisk. If they have Raina, too –" I told her.

"We'll still have the edge. Coulson's already on site. HYDRA's not," May replied.

"How the hell did they find us? We were cloaked," Trip asked.

"Raina's tracker," a voice from the staircase called out and I clenched my jaw at the sound. I hated his voice almost as much as Whitehall's. "Old frequency Shield used during the Cold War. What can I say? I'm a history buff," Ward said as he looked around at all of us pointing our guns at him. "Lower your weapons. Anyone shoots, the plane goes down. We all die."

"Maybe it's worth it," May hissed.

"Let's not get carried away just yet," Hunter argued.

"First you gave us Bakshi now you're back with HDYRA? Pick a side, Ward!" I said, glaring at him.

"Oh, I have. Don't worry." He turned and looked back at Raina. "Let's go."

"With pleasure," Raina said as she looked from me to Ward.

"You, too," Ward added as he glanced at me. I stepped back in surprise and fear. No way did I want to get anywhere near Whitehall. I looked different now then I had before I escaped but that didn't mean he wouldn't figure out who I was...

"What?" I said, as I looked over at May who was also clearly in shock.

"I made you a promise, Daisy. I'm here to keep it. You're coming with us," Ward stated.

"The hell she is!" May shouted. "She's not going anywhere."

"She comes or the deal's off," Ward told her.

"Shut up," she growled.

"May, if I don't go with him, he's gonna blow this plane to pieces," I reminded her.

"They're HDYRA. They'll do it anyway," Trip pointed out.

"You can't trust him, Daisy," May said.

"Yes, you can. Daisy, look at me," said Ward. I continued to stare at May instead. But my mind was already made. I didn't want to risk my friend's lives. My entire life I had yearned for friends, for a family, and now that I finally had people in my life that I cared about and who cared about me, I would be damned if I let anyone hurt them!

"Don't talk to her!" May said. I finally looked over at Ward anyway.

"Daisy, I give you my word. Come with me, we won't fire a single shot. Everyone gets out alive," Ward pleaded.

"Good one. Is that what you told my brother before you killed him?" Sam suddenly spoke up.

Ward turned and looked at the Koenig brothers.

"How many of you are there?" He asked.

"Daisy..." May said as we shared a look. "...you can't."

"There's no other way. You know that. Whatever happens, I can handle myself," I reminded her, as I focused on controlling my heart rate like she had taught me, I didn't need to be worrying about Steve and the others feeling my emotions right now seeing as I could already feel my phone going off as they sent another round of messages.

May lowered her gun and gave a sad nod of her head to me. I turned toward Ward then walked closer to him. He held his hand out and I put my gun into his hand. I went to go up the stairs but Raina was there.

"Oh, Daisy, don't forget your tablet. You know, the one with the map of the city on it," she said smugly. My shoulders sagged as I went and got my tablet before following them up the stairs.
