Lisa bit her lips and didn't talk anymore. However, deep down, she let out a sigh of relief.

She genuinely disliked Jungkook's parents and didn't want anything to do with them.

Half an hour later, they arrived at Imperial Park, the largest upscale residential area within the Gangnam city.

Jungkook's car slowly came to a stop.

Lifting her head, Lisa looked around at this luxurious neighborhood.

Sales for the homes here had opened two years ago and only closed last year.

This was a well-known upper-class development site.

The plot was bordered by a mountain and south of the Han river could be clearly seen from the place she stood, with a road to its left.

"Are we going to live here?"

"Yeah." Jungkook nodded, then led Lisa inside.

The buildings were designed to be mini high-rises, and there was ample space between each of the buildings, allowing the sun to shine through.

The buildings were of English-style architecture with dark-red exteriors. Lisa quite liked it.

The lobby of the complex was lavishly decorated, like the décor in a five-star hotel. Jungkook led Lisa into the spacious elevator and pressed the button for the sixteenth floor.

Looks like it's the top floor, Lisa thought to herself.

- A few seconds later -

The sixteenth floor opened up before them. Lisa looked around and realized that there was only one unit on the entire floor.

It seemed like there was the only unit on each floor, as expected from the wealthy.

Jungkook typed the pass code and opened the door. Lisa followed him inside.

Her eyes lit up when she saw what was before her.

It was a spacious, bright two-story unit. The open design made it possible to see both floors from the door. The white European-style furnishings were stately, yet ornate.

A rough estimate placed the unit at more than two hundred square meters, at least. In a neighborhood with such astronomical property values, this was no doubt the luxury unit amongst luxury units.

"We decided to get married so suddenly, and I didn't have time to pick an address. So, I bought this place on short notice. We'll make do here for a while. When the interior work in the South Hill Manor is complete, we'll move over there."

"It's alright, I like it here." Lis swallowed before she replied.

If she heard correctly, Jungkook said that this place was only temporary. Did he just seriously say 'make do'?

Heavens, this was a place which costs over billions, she was sure, especially, it was located in Gangnam, the most luxurious city of Seoul, and the perfect view of the Han river was just a cherry on top.

This was a unit worth a fortune, and here this guy was saying that they will 'make do for a while'.

"Everything we need is here. If anything is missing, let me know. I'll have someone get it for us."

"Okay." Lisa nodded.

Right then, Jungkook's cell phone rang.

"Hello. I'll be right over. Yeah, wait for me." Hanging up, Jungkook looked at Lisa. "I have to go back to my parents' place. Go ahead and get some rest."

"Okay." Lisa nodded again.

As Jungkook stood up and opened the door to leave, he suddenly seemed to remember something. Doubling back, he took out a key-card and a set of keys and placed them on Lisa's palm.

"These are the keys. The ownership certificate is on the coffee table. They're yours to keep."

With that, Jungkook turned and left.

Holding the keys, Lisa was in somewhat of a haze. Just like that, she had moved in with Jungkook.

She glanced over at the certificate on the coffee table. Possessed, she walked over and pulled it open. As expected, the ownership was under her name.

She was surprised to realize that there were tears in her eyes.

It wasn't that a man spending money on a woman was necessarily a good thing. It was just that she understood Jungkook too well.

While it was true that he was bossy and headstrong, he would always give you what he thought was best. It was how he showed that he cared.

He had been like that seven years ago, and he still was, seven years later.

Jungkook was a man she had once loved, and what she felt for him were etched into her very bones.

Staring at the certificate, Lisa was stuck in a haze. Then, as though suddenly remembering something, she drew out her cell phone in a flash and opened her mobile banking app.

Entering the password, she checked the balance.

If she remembered correctly, Jungkook said that he had transferred his income for the month to her card. She was extremely curious: just how much did the stuck-up Mr. Jeon make?

When Lisa saw the balance, she was shocked...

She carefully counted the zeroes, "One, ten, hundred, thousand, ten thousand, a hundred thousand, a million, ten million.... Fifteen million? Fifteen million."

That was right, adding on to the 80000 won Lisa had before, she had a 15,080,000 in total.

She was sure, his salary was definitely over 15 million because she has used this card to pay over 200,000 or something close to that for breakfast today it self.

So, did that mean Jungkook's monthly salary was over 15 million?

Actually, 15 million was not a large amount of money for Jungkook. By a conservative estimate, the JC Corporation had at least a dozen billion in assets.

Over a 15 million was only a monthly procedure that the financial department symbolically pays the president as a salary.

However, 15 million was an astronomical figure for Lisa.

Did that mean she could live a carefree life now? Did she marry rich?

Lying on the couch, she felt surreal as she looked at the luxury condo, ownership certificate, marriage certificate, and her bank balance.

*

It took about thirty minutes for Jungkook to drive from Imperial Park to Jeon manor.

It was almost 7 PM when he arrived.

After parking, Jungkook discovered that there were a few other cars parked in the lot. There were a Bentley, a Maserati, and a Porsche 918.

It looked like his family had visitors.

Jungkook silently opened the door and, to no surprise, saw the living room filled with people.

"Kook, you're back. You're just in time for dinner, we've been waiting for you." his mother was happy to see her son back from work.

"I'm not eating," said Jungkook as he passed the crowd in order to go upstairs.

He only came back to get some things. Then, he would be officially moved out.

However, Jungkook's parents didn't seem to know that their son was moving out.

They had invited a few friends, including two young girls who looked like spoiled and pampered socialites.

When Jungkook walked down the stairs, he was carrying a paper bag containing his personal items.

"Kook, let me introduce you. This is Auntie Min's daughter, she is the daughter of the president of the Wind Walk Corporation, Ae Ra. Oh, and she is Lee Kyu Won, from Uncle Lee's family, the daughter of the president of the Lee Media Association. They are both..."

"Mom, I still have stuff to do so I'll be leaving now. Oh, and I've been busy with work lately so won't be living at home. I bought a condo for myself, so call me if you need me."

After speaking, Jungkook proceeded to leave.

"Kook..." mortified, Mrs. Jeon called after her son a few more times to no avail.

Mr. Jeon was out of the country recently, traveling in Switzerland with a few friends. Jungkook's mom seized the opportunity to invite a few women who she often had afternoon tea with to join her at home with their daughters. She wanted to create an opportunity for her son, but he didn't let her; instead, he abruptly announced that he was moving out.

"Your son seems to be very busy, haha," one of the women awkwardly said, attempting to amend the situation.

Mrs. Jeon laughed and said, "Don't mind him. It hasn't been long since he came back, and he has been busy since he became the president of JC. He rarely even eats dinner with us."

"It's fine, young people these days are all workaholics. It's good to be busy," another chuckled.

"Auntie, Jungkook is so handsome! He's my type." The daughter of the Min family shyly smiled.

"Jungkook is so prideful, but I like it," the other girl commented in satisfaction.

Mrs. Jeon dryly laughed and said, "Mhm, next time I'll invite him to dinner with you. It's probably busy at the corporation since he's always working overtime."

*

Jungkook drove straight to his new condo at Imperial Park. When he opened the door, he found Lisa asleep on the couch.

She was wearing a tee and low-cut pants. Her pale ankles were exposed, looking extremely cute and alluring.

Jungkook quietly took off his blazer to cover her...

Lisa must have been too exhausted because she didn't notice that a jacket was placed on her.

At least not until a sweet, fragrant scent reached her nose and prompted her reaction...

It smelled like toast.

She had spent the entire afternoon packing up at the rental apartment and didn't have the chance to cook. She was exhausted.

Lisa sluggishly woke up, and, as her eyes opened, she saw the piercing light of the chandelier.

It was only then that she realized that she wasn't at her old apartment anymore, but at her and Jungkook's new home.

"You're awake?" asked Jungkook gently as he looked at her tenderly.

Lisa sluggishly raised her head and saw Jungkook sitting on the couch. He was wearing a toffee-colored dress shirt, casual pants, and on his wrist was a luxurious limited edition Patek Philippe diamond watch. His fingers danced on the keyboard of his laptop; it looked like he was busy working.

"Mhm," Lisa drowsily replied.

"I cooked, let's eat together."

He did not wait for a reply from Lisa as he put down his laptop and walked into the kitchen.

Then, he brought out two servings of toast, bacon, and hot coffee.

Lisa wanted to say that she wasn't hungry, but, as she opened her mouth, her stomach immediately betrayed her and rumbled.

Jungkook put the toast and coffee in front of her on the coffee table.

Lisa didn't want to seem stuck up, so she slowly dug in.

Perhaps it was her hunger, or maybe some other reason, but the food was delicious.

Honey and butter were smeared on the toast, making it so fucking sweet. It just so happened that Lisa had a sweet tooth.

Watching Lisa silently eat his food, Jungkook's gaze became soft in an instant.

Just then, Jungkook's phone rang...

He put down his mug and slowly answered his phone...

"Hello?"

"Son, why did you move out all of a sudden?" Mrs. Jeon seemed to be taking the situation seriously.

"I've been busy at work and am always working overtime. It's not convenient to always drive back and forth."

"You don't have to move out though, where's your new house? Are there maids, chauffeurs, and cleaners?"

"Mom, I can take care of myself."

"Son... If you're not used to living alone, please move back. I'm worried about you."

"Mom, I am an adult."

"I know, but you're forever my baby boy. Kook, what do you think about the two girls I brought home tonight?" Mrs. Jeon finally got to her point.

"I didn't like them."

"Was it their looks, or their height? Tell me what you want in a woman. I'll keep an eye out for you." Mrs. Jeon attempted to convince her son.

As jungkook was holding the phone, he looked at Lisa beside him, who was drinking coffee.

Then, enunciating every word, Jungkook said, "Mom, my standards are... 24 years old, 167 centimeters tall, has long black hair, big doe eyes, doesn't wear makeup, likes wearing white tees and jeans, and bangs are a must."

When Lisa heard that, she lowered her head in embarrassment.

She didn't like being a narcissist, but she felt like Jungkook was describing her.

"Wait a second, let me note that down. Son, I'll try my best to find you a girl like that." On the other side of the phone, Mrs. Jeon took Jungkook's words seriously.

"Good, that's all. Goodnight." After speaking, Jungkook hung up without waiting for a reply.

After silently finishing her food, Lisa took the dishes into the kitchen.

As she turned around, she bumped into Jungkook.

She didn't know what he was doing in the kitchen at that time.

They were so close together that it made Lisa nervous.

Jungkook's hands were against the wall, surrounding Lisa with his arms. He warmly looked down at the person in front of him.

Lisa was successfully cornered without any warning...

"Excuse me, I still need to wash the utensils," Lisa said as she pretended to be calm.

Jungkook stared at her face for three seconds.

"You don't have to do these things."

After speaking, Jungkook moved and created a passageway for Lisa. He walked up to the sink and began washing the used utensils.

Lisa didn't know what she was supposed to do...

When Jungkook finished washing the utensils and exited the kitchen, Lisa was still sitting on the sofa. It was already ten o'clock at night.

"It's late, we should... sleep." With his hands in his pocket, Jungkook leaned against the doorway and looked at Lisa.

"I'm not tired, you should sleep first," Lisa awkwardly replied.

"Are you afraid of sleeping with me?" The corners of Jungkook's mouth raised up into a smirk.

Liaa didn't expect Jungkook to be so direct and, therefore, was slightly taken aback.

Then she blushed.

"No," she replied.

"If you're not afraid, then what are you waiting for? Go to bed." With that, Jungkook turned around and walked upstairs towards the bedroom.

That night, before Jungkook had come home, Lisa already roughly familiarized herself with the structure of the condo.

It was a two hundred square meter, two-level unit. There was a spacious living room, dining room, bathroom, kitchen, and study downstairs.

The upper level seemed to consist of three bedrooms and a bathroom.

With a setup like this, there would be enough space to house the two of them even if they had two children.

Watching Jungkook climb up the stairs, Lisa immediately regretted her big mouth. Why did she have to respond so carelessly?

Now, look what she had done. If she didn't follow him, it would seem like she was going back on her word. However, she really wasn't ready.

Seven years ago, she loved Jungkook with all her heart, but it didn't mean things were still the same now.

Truth be told, she didn't even know how she felt about Jungkook.

She had agreed to marry him purely to ensure Haruto's wellbeing.

Of course, there had been some degree of personal emotions mixed in as well...

Jungkook entered the first bedroom on the second floor, and Lisa slowly followed him, about to get inside.

The room was spacious, with black-and-white décor. It suited Jungkook's style.

"What did you follow me for? How badly do you want to want to sleep in the same bed as me?" before Lisa could get inside the room, Jungkook said looking at Lisa with a half-joking expression.

Lisa, caught by surprise, didn't know how to react.

"Your bedroom is next door, good night." With that, Jungkook closed the door with a thump.

He left Lisa outside, with an innocent look on her face.

Lisa hadn't yet figured out how to react, and her adorkable expression nearly broke Jungkook's self-restraint. All he wanted was to go over and kiss her for all he was worth.

After Jungkook closed the door, he slowly leaned against it.

Although he wanted more than anything to hold her as they fell asleep, he knew that she wasn't ready for that yet.

He didn't want to force her. He wanted to give her time.

Time to slowly get back to where they were seven years ago.

Besides, she was already legally his wife, wasn't she?

At this thought, Jungkook's lips tugged into a contented smile.

Only then did Lisa fully process what Jungkook had just said. She walked over to the second bedroom and pushed open the door.

The interior was decorated in light beige, accented with purple. These were all colors she liked.

So, he still remembers everything and prepared this room for her in advance.

She thought that he would force her, but he didn't.

"Jungkook... what am I to do with you?" Caressing the white vanity table, Lisa's expression became sorrowful.

She admitted that she no longer had much hatred left in her.

Every time she needed help, this man had always been there.

But... if he love her that much, why did he disappear for seven years? This was the question, running in her mind over and over.

We've already wasted seven years, she thought.

Lisa spent a long time in melancholy. In the end, she went to the en-suite bathroom for a hot bath. When she came out, she laid down on the bed, exhausted.

She had always been picky about beds. In the past, whenever she was out of the city and had to stay at a hotel, she would always have trouble sleeping.

She thought that tonight would be no different. However, to her surprise, she slept astonishingly well.

The light fragrance of lavender filled the room, along with dreamlike multicolored lights. Every detail had been designed with care.

Lisa found it hard to believe that Jungkook bought this condo on short notice. How could everything be so perfect?

- Late that night -

Filtering through the window, faint moonlight spilled into the room.

Quietly, Jungkook pushed open the door and walked inside. He stood quietly by the window.

Staring down at the sleeping girl on the bed, his eyes were filled with tenderness.

No one knew just how long he had been waiting for this day...

Just as no one knew how much he loved this woman named Lisa.

- The next morning -

Although it was only 7 AM when Lisa got up, Jungkook was already nowhere to be found.

A sandwich sat ready on the table, along with a glass of milk.

Lisa had to admit that she was touched by his gesture.

Before, when she lived under the same roof as Kai, she was always the one who cooked.

By and by, she had grown used to it.

Today, seeing that someone had prepared breakfast for her, she felt an indescribable warmth rise within her.
