Chapter 15

Yuna dropped the curtain as she stared out the window. The early morning sun had the sky died pink as she took in where she was. But that was just it. She had no idea where she was. She felt like she was in the middle of no mans land.

There were no buildings, no trees, no vegetation of any kind. Yuna pressed her hands against the glass. All she saw were rock formations. This was nowhere near Ame or Konoha. Where had her captor taken her? She wasn't sure she wanted to know.

The demon's eyes narrowed as she focused her gaze on the glass, it was the last thing that stood between her and freedom.

"I'm going home." She hissed at it, raising her fist to break it, after already finding no other way to open it. But a strong hold on her upper arm stopped her.

"Now now, there's no need for violence." The cloaked man's voice reached her ears as he blocked the kick she had aimed for his head.

"Where have you taken Kyuubi?! This is not near the leaf!" She hissed, her demonic red eyes burning with the ferocity of a forest fire.

"Of course not, why would I leave you in the arms of the enemy? I brought you here, where Kyuubi would be safe." He said beckoning to the outside. "No one is looking for you here. An ideal place to raise an Uchiha, is it not?"

The crimson kitsune turned faster than the man had expected, her eyes wide with shock and confusion. She moved away from his outstretched hand, feeling very vulnerable.

"H-how... How did you know that...?" Her voice trembled as she thought of how few people knew of her relationship to the fallen raven.

The stranger chuckled. "You're really pathetic, Kyuubi." He cooed, approaching her in relaxed steps, his hand reaching out to grab her. But feeling her safety endangered, the redette lashed out. He nails growing out as she willed them to rip the man's throat out.

"Temper temper." He dodged easily, enjoying her growing annoyance.

Her strikes were sloppy. The demon being more focused on releasing his blood than she was on his body movements. So she didn't see his hand coming till it crashed into the side of her jaw, sending her head back.

"You aren't focusing, if you really wanted me dead, you could have killed me by now." He chastised, sending a blow to her stomach. But it never connected. Claws dug into his hand and wrist as the beast refused to allow his fist to come any closer.

She could almost see him smirk. "Interesting, mother instincts have already kicked in. I thought you didn't want a baby, Kyuubi?"

Her lips pulled back in a sneer as she shoved him away, with more force than he anticipated. "This like in me is the only part of Itachi I have left, and I'll be damned if I let someone take his child away from me!"

The stranger chuckled, coming back toward her. "I think two kyuubi are enough. We don't need more running around and killing."

She hissed, dodging as he went to attack her again. She would not allow this man to harm her child. For the first time, since Itachi's death, she felt like she had a reason to keep on living. She understood why her husband had wanted to keep her alive.

To carry on his name and legacy. She smiled despite the situation at hand. 'I love you so much, my Darling Itachi.' She thought, imagining the smiling face of her beloved.

Seeing the kyuubi had distracted herself, the man moved in, swiping her legs out from under her. Before she'd even thought to get up, the cloaked man kicked her in the side. Sending her back into the wall under the window.

"It's too bad really. Things were going so well earlier." He said, approaching as the kitsune pushed herself up onto her hands and knees. "I was almost considering keeping you on here as a pet. Would have been cute to come home to see you waiting at the door."

He pushed her back down, his hands clasped behind his back. She collapsed under his weight, grimacing as he dug his sole into her spine. "I could have bought you a collar with your name on it and everything." he cooed, his voice fake. She could feel sudden waves of hatred coming off him.

"Wouldn't that have been nice. Maybe I'd have even gotten you a leash and taken you for walks. If you hadn't done this, you could have had a nice long life."

She hissed in pain as he suddenly kicked her in the side. Her body curled up, protecting her stomach. She knew he'd try to get at it before he attempted to kill her.

"But I guess that was too much to ask!" He said, harshly kicking her raised knees.

She whimpered, her body curling into a tighter ball, her tails wrapped protectively around her. She didn't know what was wrong with her. Usually she'd get up and beat the heck out of the person, but instead, she stayed down.

Maybe it was her mother instincts the man had spoken of earlier? To stay and protect the children while the father fought and protected her.

Crimson tears filler her eyes as the attacks continued to rain down on  her. She had no one to protect her. Itachi was dead. Even his voice had abandoned her. Yuna's ears drooped as the silence confirmed her thoughts. She was so close to freedom, why couldn't she just get up and fight?

Her captor's foot was about to come down on her head when a voice interrupted. "Ehem... I believe that is our guest you're beating. What happened to the plan?"

"Plan's changed." He retorted about to hit the kyuubi again, but the attack never came. Yuna peeked up to see another man.

He was clothed almost exactly like her warden, but this newcomer's cloak was maroon and did not hide his identity. She stared at him, wide eyed, as he moved past the black cloaked man.

"Nice seeing you again, Kyuubi." He held out a hand to her, but she shied away.

"What are you doing here.... Kabuto?"

He smiled at the use of his name, she could see he'd changed a lot. Purple outlined his snake like golden eyes, and his skin had taken on a pale scaly appearance.

"I'm here for you." He said, sweeping her hair out of her eyes. He frowned a little, also removing her bloody tears.

"You should learn control." He hissed at the other man. Was it just the tailed beast, or had he become more animalistic?

But when he looked back at the demoness, his eyes held nothing but sympathy and regret. Begrudgingly, Yuna let herself relax as he stroked her left ear. He

still remembered the correct spot.

"Come along Kyuubi. I'll examine your injuries in your room." Kabuto lifted her up with relative ease, moving past the other cloaked man.

"Stop treating her like she's welcome!"

The silver haired man paused, his shoulder just barely brushing the other man's. "Stop treating her like she's not. This my base. You yourself are a guest as well." He retorted.

A small whine emanated from the kitsune as the darker clothed man sneered at her. She could feel his loathing for her, even in Kabuto's arms.

"I only brought her to ensure my plans would not be interrupted."

The snake like spy was surprised when the demon huddled closer to him. "And now she is a guest to me. I will not allow you to treat her this way." He said, leaving the man alone in the room.

"Apologies Kyuubi. I'm sure he was only angered you found a way out." The man in maroon said.

"Why is this kitsune being kept here?" He looked down into her brightly shining red orbs.

She'd changed so much since their last encounter at the chunin exams, her body having filled out, her facial whisker markings had grown and there were dark shadow markings on her eye lids now. He was sure he was just as much a stranger to her as she was to him. They had both changed a lot.

"He seems to think you'll try to stop his plans if you leave." Kabuto said, looking back at where they had left the other man.

"Who is he?"

The medical-nin chuckled, having already expected her to ask. "I can't tell you that."

She frowned, a small simmering fire lighting her crimson orbs. She wanted to know. She knew that. He knew that. And Kabuto was sure it was only a matter of time before the tailed beast decided she'd test her luck at catching the man's hood.

"Mah. Put me down."

The silver haired man looked at her in surprise, candle light reflecting off his glasses. "What?"

"Put this kyuubi down, mah!"

His brows furrowed as he hesitantly complied. "I was going to examine your injuries..."

"Mah, she's fine." The crimson beast retorted, turning away from him, though a little shaky on her feet.

Kabuto, almost, couldn't resist rubbing her ears and cooing at how cute she looked and sounded at that moment. But he knew she would not react well to such treatment. Especially if she was being serious.

Kinaru: So first off, insanely sorry for the ridiculously long wait! I had intended to update on the seventh, before I went to visit my sister for a week and a half, but the chapter was too short.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to leave you hanging for so long! Please don't hate me!

But anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed the chapter, I'll try to get another one up before the weekend ends.

Also who else is annoyed by these new updates? It's almost impossible to upload chapters.

I don't own Naruto or Shippuden, only Yuna and my other OCs.

Please vote follow and review!

I'll get back to you when I can!
