"LISTEN TO ME CYRUS, I'M TELLING YOU TO STOP THIS RIGHT NOW!" I angrily yelled as I started to slam my fists against the panes of glass.
But all Cyrus did was loving stroke the glass from the other side of the shuttle's holding cell. "I don't understand why you're resisting me." He pouted. "You did promise to always stay by my side. You weren't lying to me, we're you?"
Frustration grew as all I could do was angrily flay my arms around as I paced the room. "Yeah. Well, I guess I did lie!"
Cyrus frowned in response. But just as he was about to speak up, we were both taken aback by a loud explosion outside.
"Sounds like they're invading as we speak..." Cyrus commented to himself.
I know it's not my responsibility, but I do feel bad for all the townspeople. I wish there was something I could do, but no matter what I say or do Cyrus won't listen to me anymore.
As the frequency of the explosions steadily increased, I felt panic start to set in. I shouldn't be panicking because there's nothing I have to–
Suddenly the lights turned red as an alarm started to ring throughout the room. "This can't be good..." I mumbled to myself.
As we looked around to spot the cause, the main door to the room flew off from its hinges. And there stood an angry Bennett in the doorway.
"Geez, you'll even try to flee the planet to escape me? You're so mean~" Bennett said teasingly.
On instinct, Cyrus went to attack Bennett. But Bennett's reflexes were quicker as he easily dodged the attack and tackled Cyrus to the floor. "Don't even bother. I've regained my energy, hence why I was able to escape that house. So, I'll be taking Vicky now."
I'd rather not go with any of you! Right now, transmigrating to the next world is all I have on my mind!
Cyrus' defiance persisted as he attempted to push Bennett off of him. Bennett merely rolled his eyes as he slammed Cyrus' head to the ground, rendering him momentarily incapacitated. As Bennett approached the glass, he shattered it instantly with one punch.
"I should've chopped your legs off when I had the chance," Bennett said blankly as he slowly approached me.
As hard as it was, I managed to fight back the tears and use what little seconds I had left to grab a shard of broken glass. With the weapon equipped I slashed Bennett in the hand with it.
"NNGH!!!" He winced as he went to cup his bleeding hand. Whilst Bennett was preoccupied with his hand, I took the opportunity to make a break for it.
I was luckily able to escape through the skin of my teeth as I somehow managed to make it outside. I wanted to collapse to the ground in relief, but I knew that would give Bennett more time to catch up to me. So, I kept running.
At this point, the pain in my feet was inconsequential as all I could focus on was getting away from them. Cedarwood Grange was my safe haven. If I can just reach it then I know I'll be okay!
Once I finally reached the farm, I felt myself die inside as I saw nothing but flames. Ms McCollin... Mr Sullivan...
As I dropped to my knees to take in the destruction a voice could be heard approaching from behind. "Are you done with running away from me now?" Bennett asked in an annoyed voice.
I didn't bother to respond. I simply sat glued to the spot as I watched numerous explosions fill the sky.
"You're not taking Vana away from me. I love her!" Cyrus retorted as he finally caught up to us.
Bennett scoffed in response. "Don't delude yourself. She loves me. She's probably carrying our child as we speak."
Another reason why I need to leave this world... When I transmigrate, my body seems to reset too. Which means no scaring or... pregnancy. So, I...
As I clutched the ground, tears started to overflow. I don't know why I'm crying right now, is it because I genuinely care for this town? Uuuu... this is why I promised myself to not get attached!
"What's going on here?" An unknown voice spoke up.
We all turned around to see a group of aliens approach us. They're probably looking for more humans to kill and feast on...
"You still haven't eaten this girl?" The bearded man who Cyrus previously spoke to asked as he stepped forward.
Cyrus didn't answer. He was far too enraged to even think straight. Noticing the tension, the bearded alien sighed as he rubbed his temples.
"Don't tell me you've developed empathy. We're supposed to feed on humans, not treat them like friends." He continued.
As the man's eyes darkened, he swiftly approached me to pick me up by the throat. "Here is how a true Striget acts."
"NOOO!!!" Both Bennett and Cyrus cried out in anguish. But before either one could reach me with their hands, my world quickly went dark.
Eaten alive? I really didn't want to die like that. How grizzly... There wasn't even enough time for me to comprehend what had just happened as it was quickly over in an instant.
It's unlikely, but I hope Cyrus can see the error of his ways eventually. If not, then I feel like I've failed as a friend...
Upon awakening once more, I felt rather fatigued. I suppose this is what happens when you do so much crying in a day.
Looking around the goddess of the afterlife was missing. Instead, there stood a girl covered head to toe in kitchen trays and pots wrapped around her body. Is this supposed to be armour?
"I-I've come prepared for you this time!" She meekly yelled from behind the throne. "S-S-So hit me with your best shot!"
...
The goddess opened one eye as she looked at me in confusion. Lucky for her I'm not angry this time around. I'm just tired. I just want to lead a happy life for once, is that really asking for too much?
"Just tell me the results of my mission..."
The goddess nodded her head in uncertainty. As she cleared her throat, she proceeded to swiftly run through all of my achievements.
Mission complete:

"5,000 POINTS???" I shouted in disbelief. I didn't realise I could accumulate points so quickly through sex! Had I known this then maybe I would've retired to the afterlife long ago!
"I did try to encourage your long ago." The goddess insisted. "But you wouldn't take my advice on board!"
Had you just spelt it out for me I wouldn't have had any reservations about nefarious intentions! "So, this means my total is 9,100 points. I'll only need 900 more points to retire to the afterlife..."
The goddess took her armour off and gave me a heartfelt smile. "See, I knew you could do it! Just one more mission and you're done!"
As the goddess glided over to me, she gently took a hold of my hands. "You can either buy a new skill now or I can convert your excess points before you retire."
I raised an eyebrow dubiously. "What do you mean by convert?"
"Simply put, the more extra points you have, the higher quality of a paradise you'll receive!" I looked at her blankly. That really doesn't answer my question if anything I'm even more confused now than before.
She nervously giggled. "In layman's terms, think of it as me upgrading your vacation package from a city escape to a luxury island retreat!"
"Huh... in that case, I won't spend the points just yet. So, feel free to send me on my way to the next world!"
With a salute, the goddess stood upright with pride. "Alrighty! Even though you already have this in the bag. Keep in mind how nice it would be to get all those extra points by having consensual sex with more people!"
Nngh... just give it a rest already!
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
I don't usually leave author's notes on this story, but this will be the one-time exception. The next arc is going to be the last arc of the entire story. So, surprise! Time really does fly huh...
