Hey, my lovely readers.
How are you all?
So my lovelies, I just want to know, what is your favorite food?
If you ask me, I am specialized in non veg dishes which I eat and cook a lot and also, I am a hard core non vegetarian. How many of you are like me?
Are you all enjoying the book so far?
Let's begin with the chapter now.
Akash's POV
I was in my room, resting on my bed, when Adarsh barged in.
"What have you done with her that she is not even ready to give you a chance" he asked.
"Please Adarsh, let's not talk about it now. I am tired" I said and kept my arms over my eyes, closing them.
"I can't and won't loose a chance to get a sister-in-law like her because of your stupidity" he said.
I smiled, hearing him.
All my family members are so looking forward to welcome her in my family with open arms, my uncle, aunty, mom, dad and Adarsh.
Alas, it was all my fault that she isn't married to me yet.
If not for my mistake, probably we would've been married by now and if god would have been kind enough, we would have been parents by now, of course that would have been with her will.
All my dreams, her dreams related to us got shattered, all because of me and my mistake.
Sighing, I sat on the bed with my head rested on the headboard when he said "how can you be so cool about it?"
"So what do you want me to do?" I asked.
"Just...just tell her that you can't live without her" he said.
"She knows it" I said.
"Then why...I mean I don't understand" he said.
"Sometimes the person we love the most is the reason behind the pain that we get. If they are skeptical to give another chance, that doesn't mean they are over them or they don't love them. They choose to keep their self respect above their love and...it's fine. They also want to protect their heart so that they don't get the pain again and I don't blame her if she is doing it. She has all the rights in the world to be skeptical and not give me a chance" I said with a sad smile.
"Moreover, I don't think that I deserve second chance" I said.
"Yes, you do" he said and I looked at him.
He was seated on the bed now and gave me his usual charming smile.
"I don't know about love, I don't know about second chances but I know that she can never get someone like you who loves her like a madman" he said and I chuckled.
"Just love isn't enough, Adarsh. More than love, a relationship needs respect and trust. Though I respect her a lot but she doesn't trust me because I didn't listen to her and didn't ask her point of view about her parents abandoning her" I said.
"Oh wow you've for sure become philosophical" he said, chuckling.
"Yeah, I think I can be some love guru or something and guide the men not to do the mistakes I did" I said and he laughed.
"What are you going to do? With Siya?" he asked after a few minutes.
"If her happiness lies without me, I'll let her go" I said with a pang of hurt in my heart.
"You can't do that. I know you can't live without her" he said, keeping his hands on my shoulder.
"I never in my wildest dreams thought that I would be saying this but I guess, this is my punishment for not considering her feelings and opinion" I said and a lone tear escaped my eyes.
"Love is so difficult, isn't it?" he said, sitting beside me.
"No, it is not difficult. It is the most beautiful feeling you'll ever come across" I said with a smile, remembering the good memories that I had with Siya.
"I can never understand it" he said.
"That's because you've never been in love" I said, shrugging.
"I don't want to either. How can you possibly think about someone before yourself? Looking at you and Siya and the pain that you had to go through and are still going through, I don't think I am strong enough to bear it" he said.
"If you truly love someone, the efforts you make to be together is something that comes naturally, even without your thinking. It's like your sub-conscious mind knows what to do when it comes to your partner" I said.
"So even with you, is it the same?" he asked.
"Yes, it is. Whatever I do for Siya, just comes naturally. I don't have to plan it beforehand. Sure few things requires planning like moving to London and planning a library but they all are because somewhere I know, it is only for her betterment and she needs it to come out of depression" I said.
"Did you talk to Deepak uncle?" he asked.
"Yes, I did. Yesterday. He asked me to bring her with me tomorrow to his house" I said.
"You think, she will be comfortable with new people? I mean I know she gets a bit startled meeting to new people now" he said.
"Well, me and Kriti in New York tried to make her comfortable around new people by asking her to visit our office. Though she was a bit hesitant before but somehow, she pulled it off. It was our joint attempt and I am glad she didn't flinch in light or facing employees at my office" I said.
"That's a very good progress" he said.
"Yes, it is, that's why I was even more firm at bringing her here to visit Deepak uncle and I know, he'll leave no stone unturned to bring back my old Siya" I said.
"So how are you going to bring her to his house? I mean, he asked you to not let her know that she'll be consulting his sessions, right?" he asked.
"Yes. So I've made a plan. I'll leave her at Deepak uncle's home saying that me and Sophia need to attend some office work and you need to attend your work. He said that he will not take her sessions in closed doors but he will take her sessions, without even knowing that she is taking them" he said.
"Oh...you mean to say...like a natural type of session" he said.
"Yeah and moreover, his granddaughter will also be with him. I know she likes kids, a lot, so hopefully she will feel comfortable around her" I said.
It was true. Siya really admired small kids and Deepak uncle thought, may be her granddaughter would be a good way to bring back our old Siya.
Everything was planned and set and whatever Deepak uncle was suggesting was something I couldn't deny because...he was experienced and somewhere I felt that his approach was quite unique.
Without letting the patient know that you're treating her.
"I just hope the plan doesn't backfire" I said, worried about tomorrow.
"It won't. Don't worry" Adarsh said, patting my back.
"I've planned that I'll stay in the car for a while uncle starts his therapy. In case she feels uncomfortable, he'll inform me and I'll bring her back, here" I said.
"I just hope that situation doesn't come" he said.
"I hope so too" I said.
There was soft knock on the door and I said "come in."
I saw Sophia entering the room and then she sat on the chair.
"You called me Akash sir" she said.
"Yes Sophia, I need your help" I said and explained her the whole plan for tomorrow.
"That's a wonderful idea, sir. So you mean to say instead of going to your office, we'll wait in your car to see if Siya is comfortable or not and in case she is, we'll the head to your office?" she asked.
"Yes" I said.
"That's a really good plan" she said, clapping her hands in excitement.
When I looked at Adarsh, he was already looking at her with such unknown emotions.
"I'll prepare dinner meanwhile" she said and was about to go when Adarsh said "you're just supposed to handle Akash's official work here. You're my assistant and moreover cooking is not a part of your profile. We've cook and maids to do that."
"I don't mind, cooking, Adarsh sir" she said but one glare from him and she shut her mouth, gulping.
"I better go" she said meekly and sprinted from the room as if her tail was caught on fire.
I laughed looking in the direction where she ran from.
God, she's so cute.
Siya's POV
We were right now heading to one of Aman uncle's friend's house in Akash's car. Sophia and Adarsh were accompanying us.
I don't know the name yet but I don't know how am I going to face him.
I had tried reasoning with him that I could wait at home but he said that he didn't want to leave me alone in a new place. Though Mark was with us, he said that New York and London were different.
In New York, since office was already set up, in case of any emergency Jannet could come to me but here, since a new office needs to be set up, he possible can't let Sophia go.
His reasons were understandable but even then I didn't want to be a bother to anyone but who could win an argument with Akash when it comes to me?
I could never and I still can't.
"We're here" he announced and we made our way to the beautiful two story house.
It was a relief for everyone as I didn't flinch to lights anymore.
Thanks to Kriti and Akash. They had tried their best to make me comfortable with lights and though I would feel a little anxious when exposed to lights, I was happy that I could at least face them now.
Sophia and Adarsh were still waiting in the car.
Ringing the doorbell we waited for someone to open it when we heard little footsteps approaching the front door.
The door opened, revealing a cute little girl with a pink frock and two pigtails with ribbons which instantly brought a smile on my face.
"Akash" she squealed making her pigtails dangle and hugged his legs with her little arms.
"Oh my cute little bunny" he said with a bright smile and lifted her in his arms while playfully throwing her in the air once and caught her, making her giggle and squeal in delight.
"How are you my darling" he said and kissed her chubby cheeks to which she made a face and wiped her cheeks, making me smile.
"Don't kiss my cheeks" she said in her thick British accent and narrowed her eyes at him while crossing her little arms across her chest.
"Sorry, my darling" he said and she smiled.
"It's okay, your are forgiven" she said with a bright smile and hugged him wrapping her little arms around his neck.
"Oh you're here, already" we heard a voice and turned to the direction to see a man in probably his mid sixties with a smile on his face.
This face looks quite familiar...I've seen him somewhere.
"Deepak uncle" Akash said and kept the little girl on her feet while she glared at him again, probably not happy with the fact that she was being ignored by Akash.
Only then I recognized him. He was the same person who had helped Akash when he met with an accident back when we were in college.
"Akash, how are you my son?" he asked and they both hugged each other tightly.
Releasing the hug, he said "I am so glad to meet you after so many years."
"Me too, uncle" he said and turned to me.
"You remember Siya, right?" Akash said.
"Of course I do. We've met before" he said and coming in my direction, hugged me which felt so good, warm, just like a fatherly hug.
"How are you, child?" he asked, breaking the hug and I smiled looking at him.
"I am fine uncle, how are you?" I asked, still in his embrace.
"I am fine dear" he said, patting my head and I felt so..content.
Breaking the hug uncle said to Akash "you will be a very good father."
Listening to him my heart raced. Though we had talked a lot about our children but bearing our child in my womb for nine months...just thinking about it gave me a jittery feeling.
"I don't think I am willing to become a father" he said and sadness engulfed me.
He didn't want to be a father? Why?
"Why?" uncle asked.
"If not Siya, nobody will bear my child and it is not hidden from you how our relationship is" he said with a sad smile and my eyes widened.
Of course, he is still thinking that I won't marry him, thus this statement from him.
"Nobody loves me" we heard a little voice say and when I turned to the voice, the little girl was frowning.
I went to her and crouching to her level, said "I do."
She looked at me and I smiled at her.
"You do?" she asked meekly and I flicked her nose.
"Of course, I do. Do you like chocolates?" I asked and she nodded excitedly with a bright smile.
"Yes, I do" she said with an excited smile.
Taking a chocolate from my bag, I handed it to her.
"Thank you so much" she said excitedly and taking the chocolate from my hands, kissed both my cheeks.
"Your welcome my baby but before you take the chocolates from me, I need you to tell me your name" I said.
"My name is Al" she said.
"Al?" I asked confused.
"Yes, it is short for Ala..Alay...dadu what's my name?" she asked, turning to Uncle as she couldn't pronounce her name.
"Alayna, baby" he said, chuckling.
"Yup, that's my name" she said, turning to me and I laughed.
"Will you play with me?" she asked, innocently with her big eyes.
"Of course, doll. What do you want to play?" I asked.
"Come we'll play hide and seek in the garden" she said and took my big hands in her little hands and I silently followed her with a smile.
