Inside the house, paramedics started to investigate the two intruders. After checking the pulse of one of them, they declared him dead. The other one was writhing in agony as the three bullets had pierced his body. He was moved to the ambulance where they removed the bullets from his hand and leg and begin their treatment. The person soon passed out from all the pain.
The officers than investigated the house and surrounding area checking for any traces of someone else being present. They interrogated with the neighbors in order to gather as much information as possible.
At Intouch's Co-operation:
Ae was busy in meeting when he saw an incoming call from unknown number. He ignored it and continued with the meeting but the person seemed to be calling again and again. Ae excused himself and picked up the call but when he heard what the other person spoke, his cell phone slipped off his hand and dropped to the ground.
Ohm, who was looking at his younger brother, saw the cell phone slipping off his hand. He immediately left his seat and rushed towards Ae only to see his pale face. He placed his hand gently over Ae's shoulder trying to gain his attention. Tears started to roll down Ae's cheeks as he felt the pain in his heart.
"Ae, what happened?" Ohm asked in concern. "P-P-Pete......" Ae said in his trembling voice and couldn't talk any further. Ohm wrapped his arm around Ae's shoulder and guided him towards the nearby chair. He handed him some water and tried to calm him down. "Ae, can you please tell me what has happened?" Ohm asked.
"Pete is in hospital, he got shot." Ae replied and started to cry. He felt as if someone had chocked him. He was finding it hard to breathe after hearing the news. His whole world seemed to have got destroyed in blink of an eye.
Ohm called off the meeting stating there was an emergency. The people present in the room understood the situation and left the two alone, walking out of the place.
Ohm immediately made some calls trying to gather as much information as possible. The next moment, he called Sun and informed him about the whole incident. "Ae, we need to go." Ohm stated and helped Ae to get up. He then made his way towards the parking lot.
He made Ae sit in the passenger seat before he rushed to get to the driver's seat. He pulled out of the parking lot and started to drive in the direction of the hospital in haste. Within few minutes they were parked outside the hospital and Ae immediately bolted inside. Ohm didn't even get a chance to say a word.
Ae's heartbeat was racing with each passing minute. He inquired with the receptionist about Pete before rushing in the direction of the operation theater. He ran towards the door with tears rolling down his cheeks. Ohm was right in time to pull Ae back. "Ae.... You need to get yourself together." Ohm said trying to hold Ae. "But phi.... He will be in pain..." Ae spoke while crying.
Ohm's eyes then fell on Fluke who was trembling while he sat on the bench outside. His face was stained with tears just like his younger brother. "Ae... They are treating him. You need to calm down. Pete will be fine." Ohm said rubbing Ae's back. He then guided Ae towards the bench and made him sit down. Sun arrived the same moment; he looked around and found Ae, Ohm and Fluke outside the operation theater.
He rushed towards Ae knowing that the boy will be going through worst. He wrapped his arm around him. Ae looked up at Sun and he couldn't hold back anymore. He buried his head into Sun's chest and started to cry out his pain. Sun gestured to Ohm that he is there with Ae so the elder brother moved towards his lover.
Ohm sat down beside Fluke and placed his hand on the shoulder of the little guy. Fluke flinched at the touch and then looked up to see Ohm. "Ohm..." Fluke said while his lips started to tremble. Ohm pulled Fluke close and tried to calm him down. "It's alright love. We are here. Nothing will happen to Pete." Ohm assured. "But why Pete?" Fluke asked in between sobs.
Ohm was trying to calm down the little guy who was now a mess after lot of crying. After a while, there were two cops walking towards the people seated outside the operation theater. They saw Fluke and immediately identified him. They walked forward and stood in front of him. Fluke looked up to see the two officers whom he had stopped few hours ago.
"Will it be alright if we could ask you few questions?" One of the officers asked. Fluke nodded in response and then moved to get up and Ohm followed him. The officers started inquiring about what happened and Fluke narrated them the whole incident. Ohm was left frozen as he listened to everything.
"Okay... Thank you for your co-operation young man. One of the officer is interrogating with the culprit presently at the headquarter. I would like to talk to the family members about the case though." The officer stated. "Sir, will it be fine if we come to the headquarters later? Because currently, we are needed here the most." Ohm requested.
The officer understood the situation and let the two stay back while they walked out of the hospital. "You mean to say, they were after you?" Ohm asked Fluke after the officers left. "Yes... I guess. They didn't point their gun at P'Pete. They were pointing at me but Phi tried to block them and asked me to escape. If I hadn't left the place, P'Pete would have been safe." Fluke spoke in regret.
Ohm felt hurt after knowing that Pete risked his life to save Fluke. He felt even more guiltier as he saw the torn state of his brother. Ae's eyes were almost lifeless now and he was staring at the wall. Sun was there besides him all this time.
After a while, the doctor walked out of the operation theater and Ae's eyes were diverted in the direction of the person walking out of the door. He left his place immediately and ran towards the doctor. "How is he?" Ae asked with a hopeful voice. "We were able to remove the bullet from his body. But because of the injury on head, he has slipped into coma. He is out of danger but we will need to wait for him to start responding." The doctor cleared.
"How long will it take for him to wake up?" Ae asked. The doctor looked at the young man and replied, "We cannot predict anything till he shows positive signs. Let's hope for the best". He then patted Ae's shoulder and left. Ae felt the ground under his feet slip as the words got registered into his brain.
He collapsed to the ground and started sobbing. He was not able to handle it anymore. He thought of all the time he had faced the same fear of losing Pete but now, he didn't even know anything. Pete was not there beside him to assure him that he will always be there with him. "Ae, you need to be strong. He won't like to see you cry. Get yourself together." Sun said patting Ae's shoulder. "But why him phi? What had he done to deserve this? Why it happens all the time when I am happy? Why do I have to live in this constant fear of losing him?" Ae kept questioning.
"Ae, everything is going to be fine. He'll ask for you the moment he comes to senses. And trust me, he wouldn't like to keep you waiting for long." Sun assured. He then helped Ae stand up and walked him towards the nearest bench to sit down.
After sometime, Pete was shifted in ICU. By now everyone came to know about the incident and Intouch and Pitchaya families arrived at the hospital. They made a small inquiry with the receptionist and then moved to see Pete. When they arrived, they saw Ae standing outside the ICU door. The tie around his neck was hanging loose with his shirt half in and half out, his hairs were totally a mess and his face was stained with tears which had now dried up. His gaze was fixed to the person lying on the bed with different tubes connected to his body.
Tuli stepped forward and placed a hand on Ae's shoulder. He didn't budge and stayed in the same state looking at his husband who was lying on bed. "Ae...." Tuli called in soft voice. The boy still didn't move but there was a small tear that escaped through corner of his eye. Tuli then looked at Sun who was standing at some distance.
Sun let out a sigh and gestured her to keep quiet and let Ae stay there. She nodded and then patted Ae's hair before walking up to Sun. "What happened?" She inquired. "I don't know what exactly happened. Let's wait for Ohm and Fluke to return." Sun replied. "I am worried about Ae." Tuli stated. "I can understand but we need to wait for him to accept the situation. He had been crying for long. We should give him time." Sun spoke.
Tuli nodded in understanding and then walked back towards her son. Patchara was standing beside Ae and looking at Pete through the glass. Putch and senior Intouch stood behind Ae looking at the person inside the ICU. Putch patted Ae's shoulder before heading to talk to Sun.
"Any news?" Putch asked. "The cops are investigating. The officers had visited to talk to Fluke. Presently, Ohm and Fluke are at headquarters. The cops wanted to talk to family." Sun stated. "Okay... And what about from your side?" The father questioned. "The team had already gathered the CCTV footage. I am not going to let that person live in peace." Sun said gritting his teeth.
"Whoever the person is, we will make them pay. But for now, we need to talk to doctor and see if we could arrange few things for the faster recovery. I am getting worried about Ae. He looks broken. We need to stay with him till Pete recovers." Putch stated. "Yes por... We need to be there with him." Sun agreed.
Senior Intouch who had been standing behind Ae placed his hand on Ae's shoulder and squeezed it gently. "Ae, you should know that even in this condition, Pete will be worried about you. What will he feel is he sees you like this?" Senior Intouch spoke in his soft voice.
The words did effect the person to whom they were spoken to. He turned around and faced his father, fresh tears started to fall from his eyes. "Por, if he is worried about me, then he is not waking up?" Ae asked. "He will wake up son. He is not as strong as you. You need to give him some time." The father replied. He then pulled his son into hug and started to pat his back. Tuli looked at her husband who gave her an assuring look.
After a while, the doctor returned to examine Pete. He opened the door and walked inside the room and then started to check the machines. After spending some time inside, he finally walked out. "His condition is stable. You can meet him but don't make noise. Also, make sure that you are not crowding the place. Let's see how he responds to medication." The doctor said. "Thank you doctor. Can we go inside?" Senior Intouch asked. "Yes... Sure... but don't make much noise..." Doctor reminded and then walked away.
"Ae, you should go inside..." Senior Intouch said nudging his son. Ae looked at his father and then took a step forward, his gaze landing on the person sleeping on the bed. He started moving towards Pete, his heart breaking as he saw the way the cute guy was lying with so many tubes connected to his body. There was a beep sound coming from the machine.
Ae stood in front of Pete and then placed his hand over Pete's. He could feel the warmth of his husband as he held the hand. He moved a bit and sat down besides the bed while staring at the cute guy and then spoke in a soft voice, "Please wake up love.... I cannot live without you...."
