Are you all enjoying the book so far?
So I just wanted to ask, how do you feel when you're followed by your favorite author?
Well I am being followed by one and it feels like a dream. Her works kept me hooked up and they still do and I can't believe I am being followed by her.
Also, just a random question that popped my mind, if I move this book to a paid platform, how many of you would pay to read it?
Don't worry, this book won't go anywhere it was just a random thought.
Anyways let's begin with the chapter now and this is a light hearted chapter. Hope you'll like it.
Akash's POV
We all made our way to the dining table when I saw Sid coming back with the breakfast.
Gulping, I asked "you made this?"
"Yes" he said, grinning like a fool while keeping the tray on the table.
Looking at his charming boyish smile, who is going to believe that this man here cracks deals worth millions of dollars and impresses clients with his sweet talks.
"Why don't you all sit and I'll serve?" Sid asked, excitedly.
I had horror written on my face and when I looked at Kriti, she was mirroring my expression.
She looked at me with wide eyes while I was just staring at her.
Suddenly her face contorted and she gave me her pleading looks.
I know that look which screams 'save me.'
I wanted to scream that it shouldn't be 'save me', it should be 'save us' but how could I do it, it would break his heart.
When I looked at him, he was giving both of us confused look while Siya had already taken her seat.
Don't tell me she is going to eat what Sid has prepared.
"Oh sweety, why are you still standing, come, take a seat" he said, taking Kriti's hand in his and then sliding the chair for her.
Sitting on the chair, she was looking at the breakfast when I looked at her.
"I've never seen you with so much make-up. What got into you to get into this...Chinese avatar?" I asked.
Her face was literally caked with make-up and she was looking like a white ghost.
"I just felt like caking my face with make-up" she said, shrugging.
"What is this, Sid?" Siya asked him looking at the tray.
"It's white sauce pasta" he said, grinning.
Oh no.
I closed my eyes in frustration.
Siya looked at it weirdly and said "but, it doesn't look like one."
When she looked at Sid, he was frowning.
"But...the last time I cooked it, Kriti said that it looked good and even tasted good" he said.
I glared at Kriti and she gave me a nervous smile while chuckling.
"Did you eat it last time?" I asked, glaring at her.
"Of..of course I did" she said.
"Yeah, she was so quick to eat that she finished it in 5 minutes" Sid said, smiling adorably at Kriti.
"Oh really?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.
"Yeah" she said, chuckling nervously.
"Come on Siya, eat it" he said with a sweet smile and served her the so called pasta while I was just cursing my fate.
"Where's the cook?" I asked.
"I gave her leave for 2 weeks" Sid said.
"What? Why?" me and Kriti shouted in unison.
"Of course me and Kriti would be here and I can cook, so I gave her leave" he said, shrugging.
"By the way when did you eat this pasta?" I asked, looking at Kriti.
"A few days ago" she said, not meeting my gaze.
"Hmmm" I said, looking at her with my narrowed eyes.
"Siya, how's it?" Sid asked, sitting beside her.
She took a bite and said "It's good."
My eyes widened.
"Really?" me and Kriti asked in unison.
"Yeah, really" she said.
"Sid, if you don't mind, can I just make some changes in the dish. I promise it won't change the taste, just a little changes here and there" Siya asked Sid politely.
"Of course, I would love to" he said and taking the dish, they both went to the kitchen.
When both of them were out of earshot, I kicked Kriti on her toes, lightly of course.
"Owww bhaiya" she said, whining and her face contorted.
"Shut up. Stop being a drama queen. I know you're not hurt" I said, narrowing my eyes at her.
Her face immediately relaxed and she said "okay, okay. I didn't get hurt, I agree."
"How come you ate it last time?" I asked.
"I didn't eat it" she said, narrowing her eyes at me.
"Then why did Sid say that you gobbled it in five minutes?" I asked.
"That was because before I could eat it, he got a call. I just took it as an advantage and fed it to.." she trailed off.
"To?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.
"The dogs" she mumbled.
"You what?" I asked shocked.
"I fed it to" she was saying but I cut her off "I know whom you fed it to but why?"
"It was bad" she said, scrunching her face.
"Then why didn't you tell him the truth. Why praise him?" I asked.
"That was because I didn't want him to get hurt. I was the one who was dancing on his head to make it and when he did, with so much love, how could I say that it wasn't even worth feeding the dogs" she said with a cute pout.
I shook my head but then something struck me.
"How come Siya ate it then?" I asked, horrified.
"Oh yes. How did she eat it? Her face didn't even contort like mine when I ate it for the first time" Kriti said, mumbling.
"We're here" we heard Sid say with the same boyish smile while Siya followed him with the dish in her hands with a smile.
Her smile just made my day but unfortunately it couldn't fill my stomach.
Sighing, I looked at the dish that was now placed in front of me.
I had no escape from it but to my surprise, it looked better than before.
When I looked at Siya, she was already looking at me.
She just blinked her eyes as if assuring me that it's fine.
When the dish was served on my plate by Sid who still had a goofy smile on his face, I was beyond shocked by looking at it.
It actually looked...good.
When I looked at Siya, she had a very teeny-tiny smile on her lips.
Looking at her, I was just smiling like an idiot.
"Tell me how is it" Sid said excitedly.
Taking a spoonful of pasta in my mouth, when I ate it, I moaned in delight.
I looked at Siya and she was looking at me expectantly, as if asking how is it.
"It's so good, Sid" I said to him but my eyes were still fixed at her.
She had a shy smile on her lips.
"How can it be" Kriti said, breaking our staring competition.
"What do you mean? Don't I cook good?" Sid asked, frowning.
"No...no that's not what I meant. I mean...it just came as a shocker...yeah shocker" she said, looking anywhere but him.
"Is there something I should know?" Sid asked, narrowing his eyes at her.
"No...nothing" she said, looking away.
"Are you sure?" he asked.
"Actually there is" I said as soon as I saw that she was about to say something. I know she would lie again.
"What is it?" he asked.
"Sid, you need to admit it that you can't cook" I said, standing up from my chair and keeping my hands on his shoulders, sympathetically.
"What? No. I swear my cooking skills have improved since we shifted to Canada, right baby?" Sid asked, looking at Kriti.
Kriti looked at me as if asking for my support but I just shrugged.
She shouldn't lie about it to Sid and it's time she should come out clean.
"Baby" he asked sternly and she chuckled nervously.
He tried intimidating her by keeping his hands on his waist while glaring at her.
Siya sat beside me and taking a plate, she started eating the pasta once she served it on her plate.
"It's good, baby" I said to her.
She smiled, looking at me.
Me and Siya were peacefully enjoying the pasta while listening to their banter.
"What did you do with the pasta when I made it last time?" he asked, glaring at her.
"I...fed it to dogs" she mumbled looking down but it came out gibberish.
"What? I can't hear you" Sid asked, sternly.
"I...might have fed it to dogs" she said a little louder this time but she was still looking down.
"What?" Sid asked, horrified.
"Yes" she said, loud enough for all of us to hear.
Siya chuckled beside me while I was controlling my laughter.
"Kriti" he screamed and without delay of even a second, she sprinted to her room while Sid chased her.
"I won't leave you today" I heard him screaming while entering his room where Kriti just entered and was trying to lock it but to her bad luck, Sid was fast enough to block the door before it could close.
"Come out you brat" he screamed and tried to push past the door.
"No you hulk" she screamed, still struggling to close the door.
I was surprised when Kriti held the door strongly and didn't let him enter and finally after a lot of screaming, she shut the door on his face.
"I won't leave you" he threatened her and finally stomping his feet, came to us.
"God this girl" he mumbled and Siya finally laughed, a full blown laugh.
Listening to her laughter, Sid and me both looked at her in awe.
"You look so good when you laugh" I told her when I saw her laughing when she read a joke on her phone.
"Do I?" she asked, wiggling her eyebrows at me.
"Of course. You know your laughter can make anybody's day" I said, flicking her nose.
"Oh really?" she asked in a low voice, taking her lower lip in between her teeth, trying to act seductive but failed miserably.
I was stifling my laughter looking at her failed attempt and finally, I laughed, hard.
She scowled and glaring at me, turned on the other side.
Once I was sober, I said "sorry, sorry baby."
"Don't baby me" she said, turning to me and then turned again.
"You don't need to do any seductive acts to seduce me, baby. Just your innocence is enough to make me hard" I said, wrapping my hand around her waist and keeping my chin on her shoulder.
"Really?" she asked, looking from above her shoulder at me.
"Yes" I said, looking above from her shoulder into her eyes.
She turned to me and hugged me tightly.
Hugging her back, I said "you don't need to change yourself for anyone, baby, not even me. I love the way you're."
She smiled shyly and I kissed her shoulder.
She took my face in her palms and without waiting for a second, smashed her lips to mine.
Her loud laughter brought me back from my memory lane.
"Why do you both have to always fight?" she asked, in between her laughs.
"I never initiate a fight. Did you listen to what she did when I made pasta for her for the first time? She fed it to dogs" he said grumbling and Siya laughed again.
I joined her this time.
"Siya, you'll never know how I felt when she said that because your handmade food will never face the fate that my handmade food had to face" he said and I laughed loudly.
"What? Stop laughing like a retard" he snapped at me and I pursed my lips in thin line.
When I was sober enough, I said "that's true by the way. Siya's food is so good that no one would dare to throw it."
When I looked at her, she blushed and had a shy smile on her face.
What would I do with her blush?
Sighing, I said "you should eat now. You need to go to office."
"What about you?" he asked, taking a bite from his plate of served food.
"I won't come to office till next week. My presence isn't mandatory till then. I am planning to work from home" I said.
"Okay, I understand" he said "but what about the meetings?"
"I'll do video conference until then" I said.
"Okay" he said and once he finished the breakfast, went to his room.
"No" I heard a screaming and loud footsteps of Kriti who rushed to us.
"Don't worry I won't punish you now, brat. I'll punish you once I'll be back from office" I heard Sid's loud voice and Kriti sat beside me, keeping her hands over chest.
Thank god she was out of that hideous outfit by now.
Taking deep breaths, she said "thank god, I am saved."
"Only until evening" Sid shouted and Siya chuckled again.
"Why do you always do this to him?" I asked.
"I like to keep him on edge" she said with a mischievous grin.
"Okay now, have your breakfast and go study for your exams" I said.
"Aye aye bhaiya" she mock saluted me and taking the breakfast, went to the guest room.
Shaking my head at her childish acts, I dialed Janet's number.
"Yes sir, did you meet Siya ma'am?" she asked as soon as she picked up the call.
Chuckling, I said "yes I did, Jannet. I just want you to bring me important files that need my attention."
"You're already here, sir?" she asked, surprise was evident in her voice.
"Yes, I am already here and bring me the files as soon as possible" I said.
"Right away, sir" she said and I disconnected the call.
"Who's Jannet?" I heard Siya ask me about her.
"She's my assistant" I said, still looking at my phone.
"Oh" she said and when I looked at her, she was frowning.
"What happened, baby?" I asked her, sitting beside her now.
"Is she...is she very close to you?" she asked.
"Yeah, she is" I said, smiling fondly remembering her childish acts.
When I looked back at her, she had tears in her eyes.
"Wha...what happened, baby?" I asked, cupping her cheeks.
"I was the only one close to you and now, your assistant" she said with tears streaming down her face.
"Oh...baby, she's just like Kriti" I said, wiping her tears and taking her in my lap, I rocked her back and forth.
"Kriti?" she asked, confused and wiped her face with the back of her hands to get rid of tearstains.
"Yeah. She's already engaged and soon will get married" I said.
"Oh" she said with a faint smile adorning her face.
"You're the only one for me, Siya. Please don't doubt my love for you" I said, keeping my forehead on hers.
She looked at me with her doe like eyes and nodded.
Thank god.
