Livia's POV
That only person in your life who was important to you.
The one you won't be able to hate or love.
It's all cause of an event happened over in a second.
A second was enough to break people's trust.
You can go back from friends to enemies or maybe enemies to friends.
It will take a second. Just a second.
My relationship with Zane is similar.
We are so close yet too distant.
We couldn't like or befriend each other.
The only thing that holding us together is the word hate.
I couldn't bring myself.
It took me a second to lose my trust in him.
And still I trusted my life with Zane after our wedding.
I couldn't figure out or maybe I don't want to clear my mind what Zane is for me.
"Girl, I know you miss your husband. Please don't spoil our mood", Mom's teasing voice brought me out of trance.
It's our day two in our vacation. The first day I found enjoying the city. Now I'm trapped with Zane's rude behaviour.
Zane ditched me for his upcoming project.
Mom and Dad too joined us.
We are currently in our yacht having drinks enjoying the company of the ocean.
Alex is giving me company.
V is having some issues with my brother and they are clearing out for last two days.
V is keeping me off from information.
I don't know why it's really annoying when my best friend keeps something from me.
It's kinda itching my back.
I have to give her the privacy. Yeah..privacy my ass.
If she keeps me off for two more days,I'm going to throw her in this ocean and feed her off to the shark.
"Stop it mom", I groaned as her smirk was getting too wider.
"How was life with Zane?", Mom asked extending a wine glass to me.
"I don't know mom", I answered honestly.
She looked surprised my answer
"Zane is different. He puts a hard facade to other people and it melts away the next second when he sees us. He looks entirely different mom. He seems like a stranger to me", I answered without realising my words.
"He can be confusing", mom smiled widely.
I should stop thinking about that jerk.
I remembered our conversation.
Our arguement.
"I'm busy. You can enjoy your vacation".
Is he serious?
He didn't come home for last two days and he is ditching me over a phone call.
"You egoistic jerk. I hate you", I ended the call.
I have been calling him for last two days to ask him when he is joining us and he ghosted my calls.
I'm in no mood to visit his company after what happened last time.
He attended the 31st call of mine and using his arrogance on me.
What's wrong with him?
Without informing him I got ready and joined others on vacation.
They didn't ask as they know how Zane can be.
"Whatever", I hid my face with my left hand lying back.
"The Zane you know is the not the real Zane, doll", mom sadness was evident.
"Stop with the riddles mom. I'm in no mood to figure him out. I really don't want to", I mumbled as I felt myself slowly drifting off to sleep.
"The harder you deny, the harder you want to", I didn't bother to argue as I let myself sleep.

The sound of my phone ringing made me groan.
"Hello", I answered tiredly.
"Baby, Are you working?", Lily's sad voice alerted me.
Lily would never call me.
"What is it Lily?", I asked rubbing my eyes.
"Zane sounded sick. I think you should return home", Her words confused me.
Lily is in leave for next three weeks as she's looking after her granddaughter. I was the one asked her to take leave.
"He called me and asked if I'm free. His voice. He is having severe cold", Lily knows Zane's health in and out. She is the one looking after him for like 18 years.
"Don't worry Lily. I'll take care of him", I convinced her.
That jerk spoiled my mood now spoiling my vacation.
"Turn the yacht Xander. My important client is waiting to sign off the deal. I have to be there in next five hours", I lied as I don't want to panic others.
"Girl, what is it?", V looked through my lies.
Seems like Alex too.
"Later V", it came out irritated as I'm annoyed as she is keeping me in dark.
"Doll, is everything okay?", Mom worried voice made me smile.
"Everything's fine. Make sure to have lot of fun guys", I smiled and got down.
After five hours I'm now in front of our home.
The mansion was silent and it screamed darkness as it's already eleven in the night.
Getting inside I turned on the lights.
Zane is nowhere to be seen.
Going upstairs I found Zane sleeping peacefully.
My hands went to his forehead to check his temperature.
My eyes widened in fear as it's burning like a volcano.
"Zane?", I called out but no response.
I phone to our doctor and he came in within fifteen minutes.
"Nothing to worry Livia", he smiled.
"How could I not worry when he is burning like this? Is he alright?", I sounded angry as I felt my eyes watering.
"It's a normal fever. I gave him fever reducer. Make sure to give his medicines and rest for two days is must", Dr. John is the one of the man our family trusts with.
"Thanks John", I said silently as I was guilty for shouting at him.
I walked out John and took a seat in bed next to Zane.
I was mad at myself and him.
I was bothered by the fact where I ignored to check on him and him for not informing me that he have a fever.
I washed my face and changed into pajama.
I walked down to get hot water for him to give him medicines.
Walking down I found the mansion silent and cold.
Just like Zane.
But I found another thing.
That this Mansion is lonely surrounded with nothing but emptiness.
Zane is alone. He don't have anyone to look after him other than his grandpa and Lily.
Boling the hot water I walked up.
"Zane", I called out silently.
His green eyes found me. The tiredness in his gaze and the emptiness got me emotional.
"You jerk have this medicines", I whispered and he had medicines unconsciously.
"What am I going to do with you?", I mumbled.
Getting up I stopped when Zane's hand held mine.
"Don't leave me brat", the sadness in his voice stopped me.
"I'm not going anywhere", getting next to him in bed he hugged me making me all werid and sad at same time.
Heat radiated from his body making me hold him tighter towards me.
The pull I felt in my heart when he was all alone in mansion with no one to look after him is unbearable.
He hid his face in my neck.
"I'm going to tolerate you for one night. One night zane", I started combing his hair while he groaned liking my action.
"I hate you for making me worry. I hate you for keeping me in dark. I hate you for all of you. Still..I'm going to tolerate you", I know I was convincing myself for my weird actions.
"I'm going to kill you after your fever goes down", I whispered to his sleepy form.
"I will be waiting brat", his answer made me laugh.
His sleepy tired voice.
"Good night Zane".
I slept peacefully with Zane in my arms.
A change is happening in me which I don't want.
I'll make sure that nothing gonna happen or change thing between us.
Curiosity killed the cat and I'm going to stop wondering about Zane.
Is it possible?
