Chapter Thirty - Five,
"Thank you for the food, it was delicious!" You thanked the man and he just nodded.
"Is it your first time on a cruise?" He asked while mixing more drinks ready to serve the people who might order.
You shook your head, "I once investigated a crime scene on a yacht!"
He laughed, "For fun I mean!"
"Well, I don't have rich friends like you!" You rolled your eyes, "And how did you assume investigating crime scenes isn't fun for me?"
The man's eyes widened, "it is?" You laughed at his reaction. "You'll have to answer me Y/N, I will have to find another place to sleep in tonight if the person in the bed next to me likes seeing dead people for fun!"
You laughed even more not knowing what that sound was doing to the man's heart. I am sorry Y/N. He knew he was slowly giving up and all this teasing was quickly turning into something more serious but...... Will you be able to forgive him? For all those lies? For using you? ..... For his deal with his friend?
He swallowed when thinking of your reaction, how can he explain or apologize? Please just for today..... I will be honest with you about everything... Just for today.
"It's almost 9," you told the man while playing with the glass of juice Jungkook prepared for you, he said you aren't allowed to have any more alcohol. Normally you'd disagree but considering the situation and where you were, being sane was the perfect option.
"Want to start playing already? I told you it's exciting" he smirked.
"I am more curious about your guessing!" You told him.
He smiled and looked behind you, "Someone is coming!" He whispered.
You nodded and waited.
"2 cocktails," an old man stood next to you and ordered. He was around his fifteens, black suit and everything about his clothes scream hundreds of dollars.
"Right away" Jungkook responded, "Enjoying your night, Sir?"
The man nodded, "So many pretty women, how can I not?" He looked at you and you almost throw up at his gaze.
"I couldn't agree more, your wife is sure a beauty!" Jungkook's hard gaze fell on the man while preparing the drinks.
"Not compared to the rare gem you got yourself here!" Again he looked at you. Same dirty gaze, he probably thought you don't understand Korean that's why he felt comfortable speaking. "I will be honest with you man, she is the hot topic everyone is speaking about. Made us consider finding some foreign plus-one" the man laughed.
You looked at Jungkook and noticed his eyes burning into the man's brain. He won't do anything, will he?"I wouldn't want to investigate another crime scene on a yacht again, right Jungkook?" You spoke in English.
You watched the firefighter take a deep breath to calm himself, well, if you weren't playing a game, normally the man is on the floor with a bloody nose, but........ Not worth it. "Right, baby!" He answered back in English and you totally froze not expecting the word Baby to sound this sexy coming from him.
God damnit..... I feel weird.
You two shared a smirk but you looked away immediately, "If you wouldn't mind me asking, are you perhaps Mr.Lee Myung Jun from the YOO group?" Jungkook asked.
The man nodded, a creepy smile on his face."You are right! I am the one!"
"Hmmm I heard Mr.Min from SH electronics is thinking about making a deal with YOO but he's a little concerned about your bribery and corruption rumors," Jungkook spoke again not giving the man a glance. Wow, how could he just ask him this like that? Won't this guy cause trouble? "Are the rumors true? Do you have anything to do with bribery and corruption?"
You carefully waited for his reaction which came right away, he tilted his head and rubbed his neck gently, "Of course not!" The man faked a laugh and you smirked, shaking your head in disappointment while taking a small sip of juice. "I have always been clean, I'd never do such a shameless thing. The partnership between us and SH is very important to both sides, I am sure Mr.Min will think about his benifets from it!"
Lie.
"I see!" Jungkook nodded and handed the man his drinks, "Please enjoy the rest of the night!"
The man gave you a last glance before walking away.
"I am sorry, that must felt uncomfortable!" Jungkook immediately apologized following the man with his eyes, if glare could kill... That old pervert would have been dead. Don't worry Jeon, if I wanted him to be sorry I would.
"Just don't grow up to be like him!" You said and Jungkook rolled his eyes annoyed at your remark. But for you, the man being annoyed became your favorite thing. adorable. You decided to tease him more, "And what's this...-your wife is sure a beauty- thing? are you into older women or something?"
Jungkook placed the glasses he was holding down, "Jealous much?" He smirked.
You were the one to roll her eyes now, guess we're both a tease, . "bullshit" you mumbled under your breath, ....... But I will win someday! "So..... Was he saying the truth or lying?" You asked resting your chin on your palm.
Jungkook looked at you and pretended to be thinking, to be honest, he noticed your chuckle when the man spoke so even the stupid could tell what you were thinking, but for now, he'll just pretend. "Though he was a pervert...... I don't think someone from a big company such as YOO will be into corruption... So yes, he was saying the truth."
"Wrong!" You took a small sip of the juice, "except for his comments about me everything he said was a lie including your first question!"
Jungkook tightened his jaw, "So he is into bribery and corruption and ...... He isn't enjoying his night!"
"Probably because his wife is with him!" You laughed, looked behind you at the man and the woman in the elegant green dress, just by her body language you could tell she has the upper hand in their relationship. "Pretty sure he wanted to mess around!"
"She's the daughter of a rich family, she's the only reason he got a high position at YOO.....Yet the asshole he had the audacity to cheat and play dirty!" Jungkook cursed him and you just laughed.
This is how the night kept going, a man or woman comes to get drinks, Jungkook asks them one question... Usually related to their job, then Jungkook guesses and you give him the results.
It was impressive how the man was into business, even you couldn't understand some of the terms he used. Made you question his decision of choosing his career, if he was that smart in business management, why did he join the fire department?
"It's 11" Jungkook announced after checking his watch, "time's up!"
You blinked and looked around you, the cruise was getting near the port again meaning the party was almost over. "Wow ... It went pretty fast!"
"I know right!" he smirked, "My company is so good that you didn't feel the time passing, isn't it?"
"Maybe" you smiled, holding into Jungkook's jacket for more warmth, as the night goes the weather was getting colder. "but seriously..... Just how many were telling the truth?" shaking your head, disappointed over the lies you heard tonight.
"Only two" the man laughed, "It's scary how many lies they can tell... Like seriously who gives his mistress all his fucking money leaving his family nothing?" He bites his lips when he thought about what he just said. How about your lies, Jeon Jungkook?
"I low-key want to tell his wife! Want to see some drama!" You looked toward the fourth man who came to order drinks, Jungkook asked him about his mistress who was actually living in the same house with his wife. Apparently, his wife agreed to have the woman dating her husband but little did she knows that the asshole had written all his money for the mistress which means if he dies everything goes to her while the wife and the children get nothing.
"Nah baby, let people deal with their own problems!" Jungkook waved his hands. "His wife will eventually know when her son turns 18," he explained.
You nodded, paused for a few seconds when something bothered your mind,"But Jungkook....." You looked again at the people, your eyes narrowed "didn't you noticed something strange?" You asked.
The man swallowed, "strange?"
You looked at him again and nodded, deciding to ask him directly which is something you don't do, Detective Kim Y/N would observe quietly, deduce shrewdly then confirm her thoughts with evidence and the whole process is inside her head!. You wouldn't involve anyone in your thinking! but today........ You just did! "Usually when people are asked those types of questions they'll wait for a few seconds before answering, especially people with the power ....... They're used to be questioned whether it's by the bosses or the press, they know how much their words cost. One wrong word and it turns to a scene.......... Normally they would think for a few seconds, they'll even make a scene and sometimes refuse to answer but....... Those people just answered, as if........" You stopped.
"As if?" Jungkook looked at his watch and asked.
"As if they were waiting to be asked and ready to answer!" You said making the man's heartbeat so fast. He knew you're smart, he knew you'll notice something .......... Before he made this step he thought a lot, he thought about every possible scenario but he wasn't ready yet to be caught. He doesn't know what to see nor to witness your reaction. Make something up..........
He looked down then at the ocean, "As I told you before, the purpose of this party is to make connections and win deals. They were probably ready for anything."
You thought about it for a second before nodded, deciding to stop thinking about unnecessary things, you aren't working here Y/N. "You're probably right... Anyway, you guessed 7 out of 14..... who's the winner in this case? "
Jungkook hid the fact that he sighed in relief then walked from the other side of the bar towards you, "We're both the winners I guess." the results weren't a coincidence, every time he asks something he's looking at you and as if your actions and reactions were very familiar to him he almost knew every time, he knew if they were lying or telling the truth just by looking at you.
"So we'll both share a secret?" You smiled, as childish as it sounds, you liked it.
'What secret you'll tell him Y/N? ............. '
"Hmm can I at least think? how about when we go back to the hotel?" He held your hand and made you stand up, "You've been sitting for hours, let's walk around the cruise before the party is over!"
"You're right! My butt is frozen" You agreed.
He laughed at your comment as the two started walking around your arm again wrapped around his. Again, he noticed the eyes on you. He sighed. He can't strangle them to death, right? A detective is next to him ..........
"Isn't the split of the dress a little high?" Jungkook commented.
You rolled your eyes, "it's perfectly fine, if you don't like the dress just say it stops finding stupid reasons."
"Don't like the dress? Are you for real?" He shook his head, "It's gorgeous on you Y/N, I could stare at you in it for years without getting bored it's just.......t-too much!"
"Too much? What does that suppose to mean?" You looked up at him, "I thought you were the one telling me to change from 'Cop like clothes' ?"
"I did but..... I guess I was wrong" he sighed, he himself is questioning his thoughts! he knew about the fact that he likes you but ..........To the point where he only wants you for himself is a little scary. "I think I don't like the idea of people seeing parts of you that I'd only want for myself after all!" He confessed.
Your eyes widened, "Jungkook... what are you saying?"
He tightened his jaw and sighed. "I am serious!"
He was.

"I am pretty sure you already figured this out but..... I really do like you Y/N that it's driving me crazy!" He took a deep sigh refusing to look down at you, "I am not usually the jealous type, but..... I guess I really am after all." He chuckled.
'Y/N............'
Shut up, let me think.
'Think about what? he just told you he likes you................... Like really not just ....... trying things' She said.
Why I can't get your feeling? you asked your subconscious, you don't know what's her thoughts and that scared you a little.
Are you saying I am the one who should decide? You asked again but nothing.

"I won't wear it again!" You smiled and slowly told him not knowing if he heard you or not but you sure as hell liked what he was saying whether she agrees or not, the first time in forever that you were grateful for your gift. Knowing that the man meant every word made your heart race.
"At least not in front of many people, alright?" He looked down at you and smiled.
"Alright!" You shyly nodded.
'Wow wow..... what's going on!'
Now you decided to talk?
