After dinner and all of Taehyung's torturous teasing, Jungkook walked back towards his car alone. He'd handed Taehyung the address to the place he wanted Taehyung to meet him and told him what time. The decadent chocolates Jungkook chose for Taehyung had a creamy strawberry center with white chocolate coating and milk chocolate lace. They looked really delicious as Jungkook had picked a dozen of them out and Jungkook hoped that Taehyung would enjoy them.
Jungkook hastily made his way towards the observatory, excited for when Taehyung would meet up with him yet again. Jungkook pulled into a spot close to the observatory but he didn't have to wait long for Taehyung to show up. Jungkook stepped out of his car with the bouquet and chocolates in hand, a playful smile on his lips as he watched Taehyung's eyes light up from the distance before Taehyung dashed over towards him. Tripping over his own feet along the way.
Jungkook hastily caught Taehyung in his arms, a look of concern crossing his features as Taehyung smiled up at him. "You're the best husband ever," Taehyung announced happily, kissing Jungkook sweetly before Jungkook handed him the bouquet and chocolates. "I believe you stole my line," Jungkook teased playfully, kissing Taehyung once more. The tender kiss grew more heated when Jungkook's hands slipped down past Taehyung's hips for a playful squeeze. Taehyung giggled softly as he pulled away from the kiss, gazing up at Jungkook lovingly. "Oh! So you can put the chocolates in your car if you want, but you're definitely going to want to keep the bouquet on hand," Jungkook instructed as Taehyung eyed Jungkook teasingly before walking over to put the chocolates away.
After making sure their cars were locked, Jungkook grabbed Taehyung's hand, intertwining their fingers, and directed them into the observatory. Immediately, Taehyung's eyes were drawn up towards the skylight where sun filtered through the windows that brought life to the greenery inside. Taehyung stared in awe as Jungkook continued to pull him through the lush foliage and flowers towards the pristine white wood gazebo that was nestled amongst the vegetation. Taehyung felt tears sting his eyes as Jungkook pulled him up the steps and under the gazebo with him, a content smile on his lips. Jungkook held Taehyung close to him, the bouquet between them as Jungkook pressed an innocent kiss to Taehyung's lips and spun him towards the garden area.
"How did you ever find this place?" Taehyung asked softly as Jungkook wrapped his arms around Taehyung's slender waist. Jungkook tucked his chin into Taehyung's shoulder as he smiled at the question, glancing at Taehyung out of the corner of his eye. "I found it one day after work when I was... extremely stressed," Jungkook rushed past the last part, hoping Taehyung wouldn't hear it clearly. Taehyung glanced over at Jungkook, concern on his face as he bit his lip in disgrace. "I'm sorry I can't be of more help with the company... B- But if you're stressed, I can do whatever you need to help you unwind, darling! I- I could even send the kids away for the day and run you a bath and take care of you," Taehyung was cut off by Jungkook sealing a kiss to his lips before chuckling softly. "I love you so much, Tae. You don't have to do anything more. You already do more than enough taking care of the house and kids," Jungkook noted tenderly, offering another soft kiss to Taehyung's lips. Jungkook could discern by the way his arms lapped around Taehyung's waist that even what Taehyung was doing may be too much for him. Although Taehyung has never mentioned anything bothering him, Jungkook can feel it in his frail body.
"Have you been eating properly?" Jungkook asked as a beautiful blue and black butterfly flitted towards Taehyung's bouquet. "Of course! You saw the way I ate tonight," Taehyung giggled softly, embarrassed he'd eaten that much in front of Jungkook. Jungkook hummed softly in thought about Taehyung's answer, noting his body mass didn't line up with his words and actions. It was concerning to him as more black and blue butterflies flitted towards Taehyung's bouquet. Before long, they were being swarmed by playful butterflies that kissed their skin and flitted away to take any of their wishes up to heaven. Before they'd return and play among Taehyung and Jungkook once more.
Taehyung's eyes watered at the playfulness of the butterflies, wiping his eyes with the back of his hand as he giggled. "This is beautiful," Taehyung managed to squeeze out, giggling between his tears. "I've never seen anything this majestic before," Taehyung added tenderly, continuing to wipe his damp eyes. Jungkook reached up and helped Taehyung dry his eyes, kissing the elder's cheek in the process. "I thought you might like it," Jungkook noted softly, resting his head against Taehyung's own now. "I just didn't happen to have any butterfly bush, so they didn't want to be around me like this," Jungkook added playfully, laughing softly at his grievance as the butterflies continued to flit about them.
Jungkook held one of his hands out for a weary butterfly to land upon and moved it closer towards Taehyung's face to show him. Jungkook watched as Taehyung's eyes lit up once more, Taehyung's fingers gently stroking the tired butterflies wings until it took off again. Jungkook smiled softly as he lowered his hand around Taehyung's waist yet again, both enjoying the comfortable silence while they watched the butterfly continue upwards. After several minutes of silence, Jungkook finally stepped back to take a seat within the gazebo. Taehyung soon followed after him as he sat down in Jungkook's lap, straddling Jungkook's hips between his legs so that he could stare earnestly into Jungkook's eyes. Taehyung wrapped his arms around Jungkook's neck and tilted his head, honestly just enjoying the company of the person he loved and treasured most. "D- Do you believe in the afterlife?" Taehyung asked softly, finally breaking the silence between them.
Jungkook eyed Taehyung suspiciously, wondering why he'd be asking such a question. "Why do you want to know?" Jungkook asked in retort, earning a soft yet playful smile from Taehyung. "It's just a curiosity I've always had. It was something I wondered when I thought Papa might kill me one day," Taehyung responded thoughtfully, smiling more bashfully. "I thought I might like to come back to haunt him if there were an afterlife," Taehyung added nonchalantly causing Jungkook to laugh softly at this response. "What a curious child you were," Jungkook commented softly before offering his answer. "I would like to hope that there is an afterlife because then death wouldn't part us. We could still be together in the afterlife if that would be what you wanted," Jungkook stated softly, almost embarrassed before he saw Taehyung's boxy smile.
"I really like that answer. It makes dying a little less scary when you think about it like that," Taehyung whispered to himself, leaning forward against Jungkook. Taehyung rested his chin in the center of Jungkook's chest as he continued to stare up at him with warm and loving eyes. Jungkook's eyes locked with Taehyung's own as the elder leaned up and pressed his lips against Jungkook's. A slow, even kiss as their lips moved together, Jungkook melting at the sensations it caused him. A shiver ran up his spine as Taehyung's kiss grew more desperate and needy, both of them clinging to each other like their lives depended on it.
Jungkook gripped the back of Taehyung's neck with one hand and pulled Taehyung against him tight with his free arm.
