Ram awoke early in the morning ready to start the work day as always. She did her normal morning routine, and exited her room and made her way to Rem's room. She arrived near her room, but did not see Rem waiting outside her room. She approached her door and knocked it lightly.
"Rem are you awake?" Ram asked. Her response was silence. Ram knocked again
"Rem?" she said again. Still no response, Ram gently opened the door. Revealing an empty bed. A confused look spread across her face. Her sister would usually always wait for Ram by her room
"Where is she, she's probably off making an early breakfast" Ram concluded as she exited Rem's room, and started to wander down to Subarus room. She was more aggressive when she knocked on Subarus door
'Barusu you better be up!" Ram said as she opened his door, her confusion grew further when she found an empty bed. Ram was now growing increasingly worried. Both Subaru and Rem were gone. Leaving no trace of where they went. Ram then walked hastily towards the kitchen hoping to find Rem in there. She threw open the kitchen door to find it empty
"Rem! Where are you!" Ram called out looking around the hallways. Ram found herself near Emilia's room, Ram was hoping she would know where they were. Ram went up and knocked on Emilia's door aggressively hoping to hear someone on the other side of the door.
"Coming" Emilia shouted. A small wave of relief came over Ram as she heard Emilia's voice. Emilia opened the door and saw a distressed Ram standing on the other side.
"Oh hi Ram, what do you need?" Emilia said. Still in her nightgown her hair all messed up.
"Hello Miss Emilia. Have you seen Rem, or Barusu? I can't seem to find either of them, and I don't know where they went." Ram said. Emilia gave Ram a confused and worried look
"Hmmmmm. I have not seen either of them. Have you checked the kitchen, maybe they're making breakfast, or maybe they decided to stop by the village. Subaru is very popular with the villagers, so maybe he went with Rem to stop by" Emilia said. Rams face dropped again
"I checked the kitchen already, and I didn't find them," Ram said, her voice breaking. Anger started to appear on her face. As the possibility of Subaru kidnapping Rem in her sleep. Came across her mind.
"Well, have you checked the village?" Emilia said also growing more worried
Ram then dashed to the entrance of the mansion leaving Emilia. She ran across the hallways. She thought of how she was going to kill Subaru when she finally found him. She ran out of the mansion and made her way to the gates.
She ran as fast as she could to the village to look for Subaru and Rem. She found the children Subaru would hang around whenever they would visit the village. The children were playing on the grass. When their attention all turned to Ram that was approaching them. They noticed the anger glaring in Ram's eyes as she walked up to them. The children got a little nervous and unsettled, they all saw Ram to be nothing more than a strict mean maid
Mainly because Subaru would tell his experiences about her to the children. About how Ram would yell at Subaru for doing the littlest of things wrong. Though most of these stories were greatly exaggerated from what really happened.
"Hi Ram Ram w-what bring y-you here" One of the children spoke up weakly.
"Have any of you seen Barusu!" Ram said in a slightly demanding tone. The children looked at each other confused
"A-Are you talking about Subaru" Petra asked
"Yes!" Ram yelled out startling the children at her sudden outburst
"Both Barusu and my sister are missing!" Ram said. Her patience finally running out
"Wait Subaru, and Rem Rem are missing?" Petra said in a worried tone. The children loved Subaru, and were worried that something happened to him.
Ram, sensing the children didn't have any idea where they were, took off back to the mansion not saying another word to the children. Leaving them all frightened at Ram's small outburst.
"I hope they find Subaru" One of the children said, breaking the minute long silence.
"Don't worry, Subaru will come back. He loves to spend time with us. I am sure he would not leave us out of the blue" Petra said. All the children cheered up a bit as they went to playing around,
Ram arrived back at the gates of the mansion and collapsed to her knees and started to sob. She was exhausted from all the running around she was doing. A couple minutes later Rosswal approached behind her.
"What seems to be the matter, deer, I heard you running around the mansion." Rosswal said. Ram looked at Rosswal with tears rolling down her cheeks
"That idiot Barusu, took Rem away from me!" She shouted her sobs growing louder as she covered her face
"What makes you say that?" Rosswal said as a confused and concerned look came across his face. Subaru never came across to him as a kidnapper, or member of the witches cult
"I went to both of their rooms this morning, and did not find either of them. So I checked the kitchen, and they were still not there. I went to Emilia and she said she didn't know either. I then ran to the village, and asked the locals and they didn't know either" Ram cried out
"Well it seems to me Ram your drawing conclusions too early. None of this is direct evidence that Subaru kidnapped her" Rosswal said, putting a hand on her shoulder. Ram stood up wiping her tears from her face
"Why don't you take me to their rooms, so we can investigate" Rosswal said walking back towards the mansion. Ram nodded and the two made their way to Rem's room. They both entered. Nothing seemed to be out of place. The bed was a little bit messy, but other than that the room seemed fine.
"I don't see anything that could tell us where they went. Why would Rem leave me like this? She wouldn't, I know she wouldn't" Ram said. Ram collapsed to the floor as she started sobbing again
"Hmmm lets us see here Ram I do sense so-" Rosswal was interrupted
"I'm sorry I suppose" Ram and Rosswal turned to the doorway to see Beatrice with her signature blank facial expression
"Ahh Beatrice glad you could join us. Me and Ram are trying to find Rem and Subaru. They have gone missing it seems." Rosswal said
"I am aware" Beatrice said still with a blank look on her face Ram stood up and approached Beatrice hastily
"You know where my sister is!" Ram asked with desperation in her voice. Beatrice looked up at Ram before sighing heavily
"Yes and no I suppose. Last night I was testing some rather unstable and unfamiliar ancient magic. I have been researching this magic for the past three months. I had never attempted it until last night. The intended effect was to create a portal leading to another world. But I lost control over the spell, and it became unstable. A small dimensional explosion occurred. Somewhere in the mansion. In a panicked state I directed the dimensional bomb away from the forbidden library. Hoping to redirect it somewhere in the woods. But It went off before I was able to do so, and it seems like Rem and Subaru were the only ones in the blast radius. Transporting them to a different world. I suppose" Beatrice said her expression not changing through out her lecture
Rosswal and Ram looked at Beatrice with a shocked expression on their faces
"So that's why I sensed dimensional magic around this area," Rosswal said
Ram got up into Beatrice's face with anger glaring in her eyes. Ram grabbed Beatrice by her dress and lifted her up
"You mean to tell me that you transported my sister to some random world! Is there any way to get her back" Ram demanded an answer from Beatrice. Beatrice only sighed again before pushing herself away from Ram
"Yes we can get them back but it's gonna take some time. All we need to do is locate what world they are in. Then I can once again attempt to make a linking portal. The problem is there are millions of worlds and dimensions, and some of them are an exact copy but differ slightly." Beatrice said backing out into the hallway
"I see, but how do we know which world Rem and Subaru are located in" Rosswal said
"Well since Ram and Rem are twins, we could perform a link between the two, and search for Rem's signal. I suppose"
Ram's eyes shot open, somewhat relieved that there was a chance she could see her sister again "How do I tell you her signal?" Ram asked confused
"It's simple, you don't, I should be able to configure that myself. There's a spell that allows us to connect the nearest reflective surface. Of a select target. Like a mirror, and when we are connected we could see them and they see us. We would be able to talk to Rem and Subaru, and inform them of their situation. The only downside is this connection requires a heavy source of mana, so the call can only last a limited amount of time I suppose" Beatrice said as she made her way to the forbidden library Rosswal and Ram followed behind her.
Meanwhile In Japan
Subaru woke up to see the sun peaking out of his curtains. Memories of the previous night rushed over him. He turned around to see Rem fast asleep next to him. Subaru couldn't get enough of Rem's adorable facial expression. He could hear Rems calm breathing pattern, he couldn't take his eyes of the beautiful sight
Subaru continued to watch Rem rest. He eventually noticed Rem's eyes open slowly. Upon waking up Rem noticed Subaru right next to her watching her sleep. Rem smiled when she saw Subaru next to her. It was almost as if she was in a dream
"Hi Rem, how was your sleep?" Subaru said with a smile on face as he stretched. Rem rubbed her eyes and yawned
"My sleep was amazing Subaru, your bed is very comfortable." Rem replied. Rem enjoyed sleeping next to Subaru; it made her way more relaxed. This was by far one of the best sleeps Rem has ever had
"Are you ready to start the day Rem?" Subaru asked. Rem nodded her head. Subaru smiled and got out of bed. Rem sat bolt upright. Subaru looked at Rem. He then remembered that he needed to find Rem some clothes
"My mom's clothes should work for now" he thought to himself. Subaru was excited at all the things he was going to do with Rem today. There was also a question on how to approach the question of getting her back to her other world. Subaru didn't know what to do
He knew that Ram was going to do everything in her power to find them. Once she discovers that they're gone. Subaru thought the best action to take for now is just to get Rem adjusted to his world. Subaru knew that Rem might be stuck with him for awhile
"Alright Rem, follow me would you please we are going to get you some new clothes" Subaru said as he walked towards his parents room. Opening the door slightly to see if they returned home last night. But was greeted by the sight of an empty bed
"Looks like my parents have yet to return home, I wonder where they are?" Subaru said as he entered his parents room. Rem following right behind him
Rem followed Subaru into the walk in closet. Rem looked at all the clothes that surrounded her and Subaru. There were many clothes neatly hung up on racks or folded in the selves.
Subaru noticed that his parents' suitcases were missing. "Did they go on vacation? That could explain their disappearance" Subaru thought
He dug around the selves grabbing a couple skirts, shirts, socks, and a couple more clothing items before turning to Rem with a pile of clothes in his hands. He handed the pile to Rem
"Go try those on in my room to see if they fit you" Subaru said. Rem nodded before making her way back to Subarus room and closing the door. Subaru sat on the couch and turned the television on, and started browsing the channels. He eventually landed on the news channel not knowing what else to watch. He might as well get caught up in world events since he's been gone for quite some time. Most of it was just filled with boring politics, nothing interesting really. Rem suddenly walked out of Subarus room. She put on a black skirt, and a green shirt. It seemed to be fitting her just fine.
"Hi Subaru, Rem loves the clothes you lent her" Rem said running over to the couch and sitting next to Subaru. A giant smile on her face.
"I am glad to hear that Rem, anyways what do you say to exploring the city" Subaru looked at Rem
"I would love to," Rem said, her smile growing larger. Rem, like Subaru, was also very excited to explore his world. She also wanted to ask Subaru how to get back to Lugnica, but she knew now wasn't a good time
"Alright, but before we can go we need to find some shoes in my parents closet. Lets just hope they have the right foot size." Subaru said as he got up and walked back towards his parents room, Rem got up and started following him. They entered the walk-in closet again, and Subaru started his search for shoes.
Rem was looking at herself in the mirror that was in the closet. She noticed her reflection started to get distorted, and replaced by a reflection of Beatrice looking rather unamused as always. Rem's eyes widened upon seeing Beatrice stare at her. Subaru noticed Rems expression
"Whats wr-" Subaru was mid sentence until he was interrupted by Beatrice
"Hello, Hello gonna say anything?" Beatrice said. Subaru ran over to look at the mirror and was shocked to see Beatrice staring at him and Rem.
"Bea-ko is that you!?" Subaru said in astonishment. An annoyed expression spread across Beatrice's face at the sound of Subaru
"Of course it's me, who do you think it was? I suppose" Beatrice said. Beatrice was aggressively shoved aside by Ram
"Rem Rem. Are you ok!" Ram asked hastily, concern obviously present in her voice. Rem smiled when she saw her sister
"Hi Nee-Sama Rem is doing fine, Subaru generously brought me to his home, when me and him awoke in the middle of the woods. Subarus' world is very pretty" Rem said cheerfully. Rams face changed to a mix of relief and confusion
"What do you mean when you say Barusus ' world?" Ram asked curiously. Rem kept her smile
"You see Nee-Sama. Subaru didn't come from our world. He came from a different world. A world with no magic, but this also means they're more technologically advanced. I wish I could show you" Rem said
"Really, that explains a lot" Ram said chuckling a bit
"What's that supposed to mean!" Subaru shouted demanding an answer. Ram just smiled at him
"Lady Beatrice, do you know how we got here, and if there's any way to get back to Lugnica? '' Rem asked. Beatrice shoved Ram out of the way
"You see I was practicing with some ancient teleportation magic in the forbidden library last night. The spell I was practicing was very unstable, so it resulted in a dimensional explosion of some sorts. Sending anybody in its blast radius to a different world. I suppose" Beatrice explained
"How come you and Ram were not teleported then" Subaru asked
"You see, I just found out the spell does not affect the caster, and Ram was not in her room when the explosion went off. She was somewhere outside of the blast radius. The blast radius itself was only big enough to cover a small area of the mansion. So you and Rem were the only ones teleported. I suppose" Beatrice said. Subaru and Rem nodded in acknowledgement
"Is there any way to get back?" Rem asked
"Well yes, but it's gonna take some time. What I need to do is locate what world you're in and that could take months or even a year at most. But since you mentioned that the world you're in does not use magic that narrows the list down. What I need you to tell me is the name of the country, city, and planet you are on" Beatrice said looking over to Subaru
"We are on the planet earth, in the city of Kyoto in the country of Japan" Subaru said confidently
"I see, I will research this further. For now just stay put until we get the portal open." Beatrice said, walking out of sight. Ram took her place
"Rem how has Barusu been treating you" Ram asked
"Nee-sama, he's been treating me very well. Like I said he was very generous to let Rem sleep in his house. He also said he is going to take Rem around the city later." Rem said cheerfully and full of excitement. Subaru smiled. He was glad to see Rem so eager to spend the rest of the day with him, exploring and learning about his world.
"That's so nice Rem, he better keep it up" Ram said looking into Subarus eyes. Subaru shook up at Rams' menacing tone.
"Nee-Sama, Nee-sama you wouldn't believe this, but when we arrived at Subarus' apartment I walked into Subarus' room and found a lewd picture book on the floor underneath his bed" Rem said giggling. Subarus face went completely red
"You should of seen it was full of women with bi"
"NO STOP TELLING HER ABOUT THAT!" Subaru shouted, interrupting Rem. Ram thinking of a insult to send to Subaru, until Rosswal spoke up
"As much as I would love to hear more about your experiences Rem. Sadly, this connection is draining all my mana. So I am afraid I am going to have to end your conversation" Rosswal said out of sight.
"Rem please be safe" Ram said
"I will bye Nee-Sama, bye mater Rosswal" Rem said with a bright smile waving into the mirror as the picture faded, returning to Rem and Subarus reflection. Subarus face was still crimson red, from the embarrassing story Rem told of him.
"Did you have to tell Ram about those magazines, you know how embarrassing that was" Subaru said. Rem giggled in response her smile never fading
"Because it was funny seeing you get all embarrassed," Rem said. Subaru just sighed as he went back to finding shoes for Rem, and himself. He finally found a box that was full of his parents' old shoes.
"Ah Rem I found some shoes, let's go through this box and see if any of these fit." Subaru said as he removed the lid to the box and set the box on the floor.
"Subaru, these shoes look so nice," Rem said as she examined one of the shoes. She noticed how it had a lot more detail and even had some lettering. Rem felt the fabric on the shoes, the fabric was way better than her other shoes. She felt around the plastic base at the bottom, still amazed at the material. Subaru looked over to Rem and saw how she took interest in the shoe.
"Those are what we call Runners. Those types of shoes are suitable for all terrain. Except for big snow storms, or when you're at the beach because all the sand seeps through. Why don't you try them on." Subaru said as he got up with a pair of shoes he found for himself.
"Ok Subaru, but what's a beach?" Rem asked as she grabbed the black runners and stood up.
Subaru paused for a minute trying to figure out how to explain a beach to Rem. "A beach usually is a strip of clear land by the water side. The land usually consists of sand. People go to the beach to chill out, and soak in the sun or go into the water to swim." Subaru said. Rem's eyes lit up at what Subaru described to her
"That sounds really fun Subaru" Rem said joyfully
"Yah I will have to take you sometime. I am pretty sure there's a lake around here so we could go one of these days if you wish" Subaru said.
"I would love to. The beach sounds relaxing," Rem said as she and Subaru entered the living room and sat on the couch. Subaru started to put his shoes on, and Rem did the same. Rem had a little trouble tying her shoes since the laces were different from what she was used to.
"Do they fit Rem?" Subaru asked as he stood up, and walked over to the kitchen counter and grabbed his wallet. Subaru had been saving money before he disappeared. He was going to buy upgrades for his computer, but instead thought since Rem was here he might as well spend it on Rem taking her to do various activities. Rem nodded as she stood up
"Subaru, these shoes feel very comfortable," Rem said happily. Subaru smiled as he took Rems hand and made their way towards the door. Rem stopped before reaching the door
"Subaru, wait I forgot to make breakfast," Rem said. Subaru looked back at her still smiling
"Don't worry about that Rem, I am going to take you to a cafe for breakfast" Subaru said
"A cafe?" Rem asked curiously
"Yes, a cafe, I will explain when we get there," Subaru said. Rem and Subaru exited the apartment and walked down to the streets. Subaru and Rem walked side by side down the sidewalk. Rem's head was constantly turning. Staring at all the buildings, and cars that went by. Subaru couldn't get enough of Rem's expression whenever she saw something that interested her. The two eventually reached the cafe and entered. Rem almost melted at the fresh smell of the cafe. Subaru led her to a table near the window of the cafe. She looked at the counter and saw the massive menu overhead. Rem couldn't read what was on the menu, but was amazed at all the options
"Alright Rem what do you want to order" Subaru said as looked at the menu
"What's available, I can't read the menu remember" Rem said
"Oh right. It looks like they serve pancakes, bacon, hash browns, eggs, does any of that sound interesting to you?" Subaru asked. Rem looked away from the menu back at him
"I never had pancakes before, but I like the sound of them, so I guess I will have those," Rem said cheerfully. Rems' smile still stood brightly on her face, she loved the atmosphere of the cafe. It brought her a lot of positive energy.
"Alright Rem. I think I am going to get an omelet for myself. Let me go upfront and order, I will be back" Subaru said as he stood up and walked to the front. He ordered and returned to Rem, who was staring out the window and onto the street. Rem was looking directly at the people who came in and out of a convenience store with bags in their hands. Subaru sat back down and Rem turned to look at him.
"Subaru, what store is that across from us?" Rem asked looking back in the direction of the store. Subaru turned to look at what she was staring at and saw the convenience store he disappeared in front of three months ago.
"That Rem is a convenience store. People go there to buy all types of food items, but convenience stores do offer other appliances. But food makes up a good majority of what they sell there." Subaru said. Rem turned to look at Subaru
"I wonder about all the types of food they sell there" Rem said curiously
"They sell all sorts of food. You know what, on our way back we will stop by. We do need to buy a couple things for the house." Subaru said. He looked at Rem and saw her smile widened
"Rem can't wait, '' she said happily. A couple minutes later a servant came out with their food. The servant laid their plates in front of Rem and Subaru. They thanked her, and she returned to the kitchen. Rem looked at two flat pastries in front of her.
"Subaru, how is Rem supposed to eat this?" Rem questioned. Subaru grabbed a butter knife and handed it to Rem.
"Just cut it up into pieces Rem" Rem nodded her head and cut up her pancakes that were small enough to be picked up by her fork. She picked a piece up and ate it. Her eyes lit up as she savored the taste.
"This is really delicious. Subaru Rem loves it"
"I am glad you enjoy it Rem, you know we can make these at home." Subaru said before taking a bite out of his omelet Rems eyes looked directly into Subarus upon hearing this
"Really we can?" Rem asked
"Yah, it's not too difficult, we will get some ingredients for some when we visit the convenience store," Subaru said. Rem nodded her head happily. While eating, Rems' eyes looked towards the front, and saw the employees were chatting to their customers with a genuine smile across their face. Upon hearing compliments on her good the food was. Rem turned to look at Subaru.
"It must be fun running a cafe," Rem said as she continued eating. Subaru looked up
"Yah it could be fun, why are you interested in running one?" Subaru asked curiously. Rem paused for a minute thinking
"Yes actually, I think it would be fun to make food for other people to enjoy. Using my cooking knowledge I am pretty sure I can manage to make a lot of good dishes that would hopefully grow popular with the locals" Rem said in a voice full of optimism
"That doesn't actually sound like a bad idea Rem, one day Rem I promise to give you that opportunity" Subaru said with a cheerful smile on his face.
Rem's face lit up, as she knew a Subaru promise was a guarantee. For her at least. Subaru loved seeing Rem get all happy. The question on who to choose in his life came back again, but this time Subaru felt like he had an answer of who won the war in his heart. It seemed like the war was tilting in Rem's favor, but Subaru still had very strong feelings for Emilia
"Anyways, have you finished your food?" Subaru said, taking the last bite out of his omelet. He looked over to Rem and saw her plate completely cleaned off. Rem smiled and nodded.
"Alright let's pay, and head out. Lets just walk around and explore" Subaru said as he walked to the front to pay for their food. He paid and walked over to Rem and offered her his hand
Rem grabbed onto Subarus hand. As they walked out back onto the street. Rem heard a loud sound in the sky. Rem looked up and saw a plane soar through the sky.
"Subaru Subaru look!" Rem shook Subarus shoulder with her other hand. To get his attention he looked over at Rem, she pointed in the direction of the airplane in the sky. Subaru saw how Rem's eyes followed the plane as it passed them.
"That's an airplane, Rem. People use it to get to faraway locations" Subaru said. Rem turned to look at him
"Are you telling me people are on that thing?" Rem said, her face full of wonder. She couldn't believe that Subarus' world had advanced so far in technology to the point where they could fly in the sky without magic.
"Yes Rem people are on that. Who knows, maybe one day I can take you overseas to somewhere in the world like, The United States, or France, Italy, or even Spain. Each of those countries have their own unique cultures and traditions" Subaru said, smiling. His heart melted at a possible future of traveling overseas with Rem going on long journeys to other countries.
"All those countries sound very interesting, Subaru. I hope to visit them one day. Riding on an airplane seems fun, even though you're just flying" Rem said her heart also melted thinking about going on long journeys with Subaru.
While lost in her thoughts Rem remembered Subarus feelings for Emilia and got a little sad. Rem loved Subaru with all her heart. Would Subaru reject her again for Emilia, or would he accept her as his partner. These were all questions that danced in her mind. Rem wasn't ready to give up on Subaru. If she had even the slightest chance to secure her future with Subaru. She was not going to let it pass her by
Rem's thoughts were interrupted by the view of the sea. Subaru had brought Rem to look out on the lake for the afternoon. They found a bench that faced the lake, and was near a local restaurant to their right. They both sat down. Rem couldn't take her eyes off the water. It was beautiful. The mountains in the background combined with the smell of the freshwater lake, made her lay back and smile for the hundredth time that day
"You like the view Rem" Subaru said while also looking out on the lake. Rem didn't take her eyes off it when she responded
"Of course Subaru, it's beautiful, Rem loves it," Rem said. Her mind was going crazy. She knew now was the brilliant opportunity to make her move, and ask Subaru if he wanted her. She thought about all the great times she spent with Subaru. For the past 3 months Subaru has been the brightest part of Rem's life. He was able to drag her away from her sister's shadow and see herself to be more than a replacement for Ram.
Rem knew that without Subbaru she would not be the person she is right now. She owed so much to him, so much she couldn't repay. When Rem confessed her feelings to Subaru at Cruschs mansion it felt good to get it off her chest, but she was still heartbroken that Subaru would go on to say he loved Emilia after she confessed. Rem would have dreams back in the mansion about Subaru. When she awoke, most times she would often cry into her pillow out of frustration and sadness that Subaru loved Emilia not her. She couldn't help herself anymore, she was tired of feeling sad all the time when she saw Subaru and Emilia together
"S...Subaru" Rem said shly. Subaru turned his head, and the second he did he was met with Rem's lips on his. Subaru was shocked at Rem's sudden actions. Emilia immediately came to his mind
To Rem's surprise she wasn't shoved away. Instead Subaru put his hand around her and hugged her tightly. A couple of people walked by giving them funny looks, but neither of them seemed to notice
They made out for a couple more minutes before breaking away. Rem hides her face behind her hands. Her face was bright red from embarrassment. Subaru just stayed there looking at Rem, his face also red. He was still processing what just happened. He didn't know Rem felt this way about him. Though it should have been obvious from how happy she always was around him. He brought Rem so much joy he doesn't even realize it.
"Im...Sorry" Rem said her voice sounding like she was on the verge of tears
"What do you have to be sorry about?" Subaru said in response, putting on a smile. Rem removed her hands from her face and closed her eyes as she spoke
"Because I stole your first kiss from Emilia!" Rem shouted quickly, tears streaming down her face. Rem put her hands back over her face and began to sob
"Rem...Put your hands down and open your eyes," Subaru said in a calm but serious voice. Rem slowly lowered her hands and opened her eyes, tears still streamed down her face. Subaru cupped her face and wiped her tears with his other hand. Rem felt ashamed of what she just did
"Rem...I want you to know that... I have made my choice," Subaru said, still in a calm voice. Rem's tears continued and her body started to shake. She was trying to prepare herself to hear the dreaded second rejection. Her heart felt like it was about to explode out of her chest. She stared into Subarus eyes as she awaited his answer
"Rem...I choose you" Subaru said as he held Rem's hands. Rem froze in place. Tears still streamed out of her face, but this time they were tears of happiness. Rem couldn't believe that she was chosen. The brightest smile Subaru has everseen spread across her face
"Really, you really mean it... You actually chose me" Rem said as tears of happiness still flowed from her eyes
"Yes Re-" Subaru couldn't finish his sentence before he was pulled into another passionate kiss. Rem jumped back on him like a cougar. They made out to the sound of the waves in the distance
"I love you Subaru" Rem said as he hugged Subaru tightly. A giant smile still planted on her face.
"I love you too Rem" Subaru said as he hugged her back. There embrace was interrupted suddenly
"Hey you two, get a room. You are scaring away all my customers!" The owner of a restaurant yelled. Subaru looked to his right , and noticed that everyone who was eating at his restaurant was sitting away from the bench. Some of the customers were giving weird looks at Subaru and Rem
Subaru took Rems hand, and walked hastily away from the restaurant. Subaru and Rem were embarrassed beyond belief knowing that a crowd was watching their little episode.
Subaru looked back and saw the restaurant owner smile and give him the thumbs up. Probably telling Subaru that she's a keeper. Subaru smiled back before turning back around leading Rem to somewhere else near the water that was more private so they wouldn't be disturbed. Subaru eventually found a spot.
Rem looked out on the water, and noticed a yacht sail by. Rem has never seen a fancier boat. It had a slick modern design. Something she couldn't get enough of.
"You like that boat, Rem" Subaru asked, also looking at the giant yacht. Rem nodded her head. Subaru and Rem then spent the entire afternoon talking about anything that came to their minds.
Subaru told Rem about his school life, and how uneventful and boring it was since he never had any friends. Rem felt sorry for Subaru when he said that he felt lonely and left out. When he would see a friend group at his school. Subaru eventually got used to it so it didn't bother him much. But it bothered Rem greatly. Subaru was the nicest and kindest person she ever met. So she did not get why no one would want to be friends with him, and avoid him.
Rem eventually went on to tell an embarrassing story about Ram to get even with Subaru. For telling Ram about his lewd magazine collection
Rem told the story about Ram's first love interest. A year ago almost. Ram fell in love with this guy who was visiting the village. Ram would go up and talk to him whenever she went grocery shopping. A week went by and Ram decided to tell Rem she was going to go up and confess her feelings. Rem was so excited that her sister was making such a courageous move, and wanted to be there for her. On the way to the village Ram was very nervous and was sweating and shaking. Rem said some words of encouragement before Ram started her confession. Ram went up to him and got halfway through her confession before vomiting all over him. She ran off back to the mansion, with Rem following behind her. Completely ditching the groceries they bought. Rosswal wasn't too upset over it, and shrugged it off. It took over a week for Ram to get over it. But it took over two months before she was able to step foot back in the village again.
Subaru didn't laugh at the story. Even though him and Ram don't always get along. He still felt a little bit of sympathy for her. Rem and Subaru continued talking until dusk when they decided that they would make their way back to Subarus apartment. Subaru and Rem held hands as they walked towards the apartment. Rem had an amazing day, one of the best days if not the best day of her life. She couldn't wait to experience more. She was even more excited for the day she got to show Ram around
Subaru was equally as happy. He never had a girlfriend before, in fact he really never had a friend before until he got transported. The only people Subaru really had in his life were his parents, and that was about it. He was also thinking about the unavoidably embarrassing introduction of Rem to his parents when they returned
Like promised on the way back he stopped by the convenience store with Rem. When they reached the store Subaru opened the door and let Rem in first. Rem heard a noise go off when Subaru opened the door. The noise was similar to that of the doorbell
"Subaru what was that sound? It sounded like a doorbell" Rem said as she looked in amazement at all the food the store was selling. All the fancy packaging stood out. It looked nothing like the markets in the village. Rem enjoyed listening to the calm music coming out of the speakers
"That noise is made to alert the clerks that a customer is in the store" Subaru said as he went down to the coolers to get some milk. He also got some pancake batter along with some other things. Rem wandered away from Subaru deciding to check out other parts of the store for herself. She noticed a magazine rack that had a bunch of manga. Rem was flipping through it. Even though she didn't understand the language she still enjoyed looking at the pictures.
"Rem, where are you?" Subaru said as he walked around trying to find Rem
"I am right here Subaru" Rem said when she saw Subaru looking for her. Subaru noticed Rem was by the magazine rack reading manga. Subaru walked up to Rem and glimpsed at what she was reading
"Watcha reading Rem" Subaru asked. Rem turned to look at him smiling
"I am just reading through this adventure book, it's really fun to look at, it has pretty pictures, '' Rem said as she showed Subaru. Subaru smiled. He was glad she was interested in manga. Rem put the manga back on the rack before inspecting the other side of it. She turned the rack around and saw some familiar magazines
The second Subaru saw the lewd magazines on the rack. He covered Rem's eyes and guided her towards the counter. Rem was giggling the whole way there. Subaru had already put the items he was going to buy on the counter before looking for Rem. So the clerk already had him rung up
"Is that everything?" the clerk asked. Subaru stood there for a second
"No, hold on let me get one last thing" Subaru said as he walked over to the drink section and grabbed two sodas for him and Rem. He walked back up and paid for the items, and exited the store. With Rem carrying one bag, and Subaru carrying another
Rem and Subaru began to walk back to Subarus apartment. Rem had a giant smile on her face. Rem loved the convenience store and all it had to offer. She couldn't wait until she could start to make visits on her own. Something as simple as visiting a convenient store as an adventure to Rem. She was curious about the two black drinks Subaru retrieved in the store
"Subaru, what were those drinks you bought?" Rem asked curiously. Subaru smiled
"I will tell you when we get back, we are not far," Subaru said. Rem and Subaru made their way through the streets and made it to the apartment. Subaru opened the apartment door, slipped his shoes off. Went over to the kitchen and placed the bag on the table. Rem also placed her bag on the table
"Alright Rem, take this" Subaru said as he gave Rem a sodai. Rem looked at the bottle and noticed it fizzing to the top.
"What is this Subaru" Rem asked
"It's a soft drink," Subaru said as he opened his bottle slowly. Rem heard the noise the soda made as Subaru opened it
"Is this safe to drink Subaru?" Rem asked
"Yes Rem it's safe don't worry" Subaru said as he took a sip of his. Rem opened the cap to her soda, and heard it fizz.
"Be careful Rem don't shake it too much, or you'll make it go everywhere" Rem nodded as she took the cap off slowly just like Subaru did. Rem opened her drink, and started to drink it. Rem put her drink down on the counter
"This tastes really good, but it has a very weird taste uhhh I don't know how to explain it," Rem said as she took another swig of her drink.
"Are you talking the fizz" Subaru said drinking his as well
"It feels like a cold burn" Rem said
"I guess that's a good summary of it," Subaru said, walking over to the couch and turning the TV on. Rem followed him and sat next to him.
"What do you say about watching a movie tonight Rem?" Subaru said looking at Rem with a smile
"Sure Rem has never seen a movie before, but she is always willing to see one with Subaru" Rem said cheerfully.
"Great, lets go pick one out" Subaru said, getting off the couch and going towards the bookcase that was next to the TV. The bookcase was full of movies. Rem got up to look at the bookcase with Subaru
"What are we looking at Subaru, are these books?" Rem asked curiously. Subaru turned to look at Rem
"No Rem these are movies, I want you to choose one that you like,'' Subaru said. He stepped out of the way to let Rem choose from the huge variety of movies. Rem inspected some of the movies, taking them out, and putting them back on the shelf after she was done inspecting. Rem eventually found one that appealed to her.
"This one!" Rem said as she handed the movie to Subaru. Subaru checked the movie she chose. Subaru noticed the giant shark on the cover
"Hmmm Interesting choice, why this one" Subaru asked Rem
"Because it has a scary looking sea monster on the cover," Rem said, pointing to the cover.
"This might be a little scary for you, are you sure you wanna watch this?" Subaru said as he took the disk out of the cover. Subaru knew Rem had definitely seen scarier things before. He was just concerned Rem could tell if the movie was fake. Rem nodded her head
"Rem is sure she wants to watch this, Rem loves adventure books. Where the antagonist is a huge ugly evil monster" Rem said
"Well if adventure is what you seek. Then this should deliver" Subaru said putting the disk into the blueray player
"What was that circle you were holding?" Rem asked as she sat on the couch. Subaru grabbed the remote from the coffee table before sitting next to Rem
"It's the movie, that device down there reads that disk and displays it onto the TV." Subaru said as he changed the TV input.
"Incredible Subaru! Rem is really excited to watch this movie" Rem said as she got closer to Subaru.
"I know you are Rem, but I want you to remember something before we watch this" Subaru said in a serious tone
"What is it?" Rem asked
"I want you to understand that nothing you see in the movie is real. It's all just a performance. Alright?" Subaru said, looking at Rem. Rem nodded her head acknowledging what Subaru said. Subaru smiled and began the movie
Throughout the movie Rem was constantly asking Subaru what was happening since she couldn't read the subtitles. Subaru explained it to her everytime she asked, and she would nod when he finished.
Subaru thought Rem would scream at the sight of the shark that was on the cover, but all she did was hug Subaru tighter, never taking her eyes off the screen. She was very invested into the plot of the movie. Even though she didn't understand it much. When the movie eventually concluded. Subaru grabbed the remote, and turned the TV off. He turned the lamp on and stretched.
"Mmmmhm did you enjoy the movie Rem?" Subaru asked. Subaru looked down and saw Rem fast asleep cuddling him. Her face was buried in Subarus chest. Subaru chuckled at the adorable sight.
Subaru got up, and picked her up gently, trying his best not to wake her. He walked into their room. And set her down on the bed. Then he ran into a big issue
"I don't want to wake her, but how am I going to get her into her nightgown" Subaru thought as he looked over Rem. Subaru sighed
"Ram forgive me for doing this to your sister" he thought to himself as he began to undress her down to her undergarments. Subaru was trying his best not to look, just in case Rem woke up and got the wrong idea. Though he couldn't help himself much, and got some small glimpses
Subaru was praying to seventy different gods when it came time to remove her skirt. That she would not wake up. Luckily she didn't and he was able to get her into her nightgown without waking her. Subaru let go a sigh of relief when he finished.
After Rem was dressed, Subaru threw the covers over her. Subau then walked over to his side and got in beside her. "What a day" He thought to himself as he closed his eyes. This was by far one of the best days of his life.
