"Mr. Rafe Cameron. yeah?" The receptionist asked and he nodded handing over a key. "can you get one more room, doesn't have to be a big one. the smaller the better actually" he said and after sometime they managed to find one handing over one more key to the boy. Rafe and Kayla went to their room in the third floor, Thea's was about 5 rooms away from theirs and Kayla thanked God she didn't have to tolerate thea for the rest of their time there.
"I'm so tired" Rafe said jumping onto the bed leaving his bags on the floor. "me too" Kayla said watching the boy lie on the bed. "no no, ew! Rafe I'm sleeping on the couch if you don't remove your shoes." She said running up to the boy who didn't even move a muscle. She slowly removed his shoes and kept it in a corner. Taking his bag she went and kept them in the cupboards she washed her face and slowly came back next to the sleeping boy. She slowly slid under the covers and sighed deeply and closed her eyes hoping she could sleep. "you know what I realized?" Rafe said his eyes still closed and the girl turned towards him. "what?" she asked.
"you're so tiny, if not for me you would probably be at school or something" He said with an evil smile, eyes barely open with his sleepy voice and the girl replied, "well then I'm lucky you abducted me from my grandparents huh?" She smiled as he cuddled her humming in response. It wasn't even the evening yet but they could have had a nap to restore their energy. Kayla realized how peaceful rafe seemed and refused to let him know about how she was feeling. She couldn't sleep. so she just layed there in comfort in Rafe's arms. She began to use this time to think, knowing whatever thoughts may have occurred that she was safe because she was next to Rafe. How did JJ get in, assuming he was real. He sat there in the house after Rafe had left to do something and maybe the back door was open. But he would've definitely heard Thea and Kayla arguing, maybe he didn't come up assuming thea was with her there and not wanting to intrude. what about thea? How did she happen to come exactly when this happened. The questions were tiring Kayla more so she gave up and she stood up and went to drink some water. she looked at the pills but shook her head and went back and layed in Rafe's arms, unknowingly she did end up falling asleep peacefully.
Kayla opened her eyes to darkness, and Rafe not next to her. She oned her bedside lamp she took her phone to see her the time and he had fallen sleep for a good 5 hours. a message from Rafe "Dad wanted me to finish some work, will be back as soon as i can. love you kid" She sat up with a smile at the text and Rafe's stupid reminder that she was smaller than him. "love you too Rafie" she knew how that nickname only annoyed him. suddenly she heard the sound of their door knock, Getting out of the bed she ran upto the door and opened it and no one was there, with furrowed brows she pushed the door close and walked back over taking the TV remote to her hands when she heard a familiar voice, "this place has mad security" between breaths hands on his knees showing that he had to run. "What?" she said looking at the blonde, "what the fuck? how are you here!" She yelled in confusion, the last time this happened it was too much of a shock for her that she couldn't help but breakdown but now she tried to keep herself up.
she was strong enough to do that and while her brain began doing everything to explain the current situation the boy replied. "Can I at least get a hug this time" His eyes longing for something as he recovered form his rushed breaths. "You're not real" She said staring at the boy, "Kayla I went through almost everything to come find you, I followed Rafe and....you have onned your location on snap maps...and I ran through security and everything not for you to keep saying I'm not real! I'm here and all I have wanted for the past few days was a hug from you a kiss whatever. I need you please." He said walking closer to Kayla who was now slowly being convinced he was real but she didn't want to admit it because if he wasn't it would kill her. "Princess I've been waiting for this for so long just....please" He kept getting closer but Kayla didn't say a word. A tear or two began to fall down her cheeks as much as she tried to withhold it. "Where are the others? Kiara?" Kayla managed to say, "Kayla what! I'm seeing you after the longest time and you bring up Kiara!" He too now sounded broken, "I- no" Kayla didn't know what to say. each step he took closer to her she moved backwards until she hit a wall. "Kayla, why are you afraid of me?" He asked, "I don't want you to think that I'm going to hurt you" One move forwards and they would touch. "You remember how much I love you right? how we are going to one day leave everything behind and just go to spain." He laughed in a sad broken tone as if he were hiding how hurt he was.
Kayla was afraid that when he touches her she wouldn't feel him, proving that he is nothing but a ghost or maybe her imagination. "don't touch me JJ" She almost whispered shaking her head, "I don't want you to" She said looking up at the boy, She didn't want her hopeless life to remind her that he was indeed dead and not real. "Kayla, princess...I didn't go through all of that" He said pointing towards the door but still keeping eye contact and continuing, "just to leave after seeing you, I need you to know that I am really here for you. I need to be able to hug you or make out with you." He said as she looked at his hand that was now moving toward hers. "I'm here, for real"
She shut her eyes tight until that one moment hoping that she would feel his touch but doubting its possibility, she felt touch. touch on her hand her eyes opened and she felt shivers run down her spine as he dragged his hand from her hand to her shoulder to around her neck. stroking her cheek and wiping her tears she looked at him and couldn't help but feel a relief. She felt him, He touched her and she felt it.
"JJ?" She asked calm than before, "I'm here baby" He smiled widely.
