Betty POV:
"Catch" Sweet Pea said as he took my phone off of the charger and threw it to me.
"I've told you to stop throwing my phone" I said as I rolled my eyes playfully.
"That's boring" he said as I accepted the call I was getting and raised my phone to my ear.
"Elizabeth speaking" I said as Sweet Pea Pea took a seat by my side and went back to work on his computer.
"Hello Betty, it's Mr. Honey" he started and I tapped Sweet Pea's shoulder, earning his attention.
He turned to me, a confused look formed on his face as I moved my phone from my ear and put it on speaker.
"What has she done this time?" I asked him and Sweet Pea instantly caught on, our daughter was in trouble again.
"She's started another fight" he said and Sweet Pea shook his head.
"How long is she suspended for?" I asked as I let out a sigh.
"A week, but I'd like to talk more about this in person, with either you or Sweet Pea. In the meanwhile, I've sent her home" he said.
"Okay, I'll be there soon" I said as I rested my head on the back of my chair, eyes closed.
"Great, see you soon Betty" he said as I hung up.
I let out a huff as I dropped my phone onto our desk. She has the same horrible temper as Sweet Pea did. She has been getting in trouble every month, always ending up in detention or suspension.
"I can't believe she's gotten herself suspended again" he said angrily.
This is seriously a joke at this point. We're sick of having to constantly deal with her. She is always getting herself in trouble without thinking about the consequences.
"Sweet Pea, we can't keep dealing with this any longer. I don't know what to do with her anymore, whatever we do, she never stops" I said as I rested my elbows on the table and my head in my hands.
"I know, we'll sort something out. I promise" he said and I nodded my head.
I knew there was a way we could get through to her, but how, I have no clue. I was able to get through to Sweet Pea when he was her age, so I'll figure out a way to get through to her.
"I'll go to the school and then home" I said and he nodded his head.
"I'll meet you there" he said and I nodded my head.
"I love you" I said as I kissed his head and picked up my phone.
"I love you too" he said.
I walked downstairs through the bar and into the car park. I got into my car as I let out a small scream, I'm so tired of this shit.
I drove down to my old high school and remembered the last time I was here, last month. She spray painted the building, a whole list of profanities. When I asked her why she would do something so stupid, she said, and I quote "that school is my bitch, I own it" she said.
She thinks that just because she's our daughter, she can get away with anything she wants. She's entitled, reminds me of Cheryl blossom. A bitch from high school who thought she was better than the world. And now, she's alone, everyone left her. She doesn't have daddies money anymore, she's been put in her place.
Maybe that's what we need to do with her, take everything away, make her live like a normal, average person.
I walked through the halls and down to Mr. Honey's office where I was greeted by his secretary.
"Hello darling, go straight in" she smiled.
"Thank you" I smiled back at the lady who has been here since I was at the school.
I walked into Mr. Honey's office and he looked up from his desk, greeting me with a half smile.
"I'm so sorry" I started as I took a seat opposite him.
"I know" he sighed out. I already knew this wasn't going to be a good conversation.
"But we can't keep excusing this behaviour. She's caused us thousands of dollars in damages and I have to put my foot down. The next time she does something like this, she will be expelled" he said.
I wish I could get angry at him, yell at him for not giving Ella a fair chance, but he's right. He's been more than generous to her and she's just shoved it right back in his face.
"I understand" I said as I nodded my head.
"I wish there was more that I could do, but my hands are tied" he said and again, I nodded my head.
We live in a small town, the school doesn't receive a lot of funds.
"Trust me, you've been more than generous to her and Sweet Pea and I are both really grateful" I said.
"Of course" he said.
From there we wrapped up the conversation and I headed to my car and texted Sweet Pea, telling him I was heading home.
I got into my car and drove back to the South Side. So much was running through my mind.
The closest school, other than Riverdale High is an hour away and in another town. There's no way we would make it work. Why can't she just pull her head in?
I arrived home moments after Sweet Pea and we connected our hands as we walked to the door.
"What's our plan of approach?" He asked with a sigh.
"Stern, I'm done with her shit. She fucks up again and he's going to expel her" I told him.
"Fuck" he groaned out.
He opened the door and I walked in. I saw Ella laying on the couch as she scrolled through her phone.
I walked up to her and took her phone from out of her hands.
"Hey, what are you doing?" She asked angrily as she sat up.
"Don't start with me" I warned her. She looked to Sweet Pea and I as she rolled her eyes with a huff.
"I had my reasons" she said as she crossed her arms.
"Were they threatening you?" I asked her.
"No" she mumbled.
"Did they touch you?" I asked her.
"No" she said as she looked at Sweet Pea.
"Then I don't care whatever petty reason you had. Your dad and I are tired of constantly getting calls saying you've got into a fight, you've spray painted a building. It never ends Ella, enough is enough. If you don't pull your head in, you're going to be expelled" I told her sternly.
"I don't care" she said. I raised an eyebrow at her.
"What do you mean you don't care?" I asked her sternly.
"I want to get expelled, I'll work with you guys" she said and I chuckled at how absurd she sounded.
"You don't get to work with us or anything of the sort until you've earned it" I told her sternly. She laughed at me.
"We're talking about earning our spot in the Serpents? Aren't you only the Queen because you dated Serpent blood? I think I've earned it" she started but Sweet Pea stepped in.
"That's enough Ella, you're a child and you know nothing about the Serpents. You're clearly way too immature for it so I suggest you knock off the attitude and apologise to your mother" he told her sternly.
"No" she said.
"Okay, no phone and you're grounded" he said as she furrowed her eyebrows at us and huffed.
"For how long?" She asked.
"Until you've dropped the attitude and stop acting as if you're better than the world" he told her and she stormed out of the lounge and up to her room.
I turned to face him as I threw her phone onto the couch.
"I don't know what to do anymore Sweet Pea" I sighed out with defeat.
"Babe, we'll sort it out" he said as he wrapped me up into a hug.
"How?" I asked him.
"I'll sort it out, tonight's your night to relax" he said and I rested my head on his shoulder.
"I'm so tired of this Sweet Pea" I told him. I felt as he held me a little tighter and dropped a kiss onto my head.
"I know, I know" he whispered as he unwrapped one of his arms from around me and used it to push up my chin so that I was looking into his eyes.
"Bubs, you're exhausted. Go take a nap, I'll handle everything" he said and I nodded my head.
I was to tired to argue with him and I wanted the break. I don't have the effort to try and deal with her again.
"I love you" I said as I gave him a small smile.
"I love my beautiful wife" he smiled as he placed a soft kiss on my lips.
He soon encouraged me to head up to bed and I blindly agreed. I was just so exhausted, I needed the rest.
Sweet Pea POV:
I attempted to make dinner which honestly should be Ella's punishment alone, all I can make is toast.
But anyway, I decided to make pasta since Betty taught me how to do it when we were teens. She said she wouldn't move in with me unless I learnt how to at least cook something basic. She keeps me in line, I love her for that. She won't deal with my shit.
On the other hand, I really don't know what we should do about Ella anymore. We've tripped being understanding, we've tried being harsh, we've tried this and that, but nothing gets through to her.
Of course she's going to get Betty and I's role as heads of the Serpents when she's older, but when she acts like this, it proves she's far from ready. In all honesty, she reminds me of me. I thought I was ready to be Serpent King when I was fifteen. Clearly, very clearly now I can see I was no where near ready. I was getting in fights every other day, I'd disappear for days on end and I wasn't too good of a person.
She needs to realise that she has to work her way up. And if she ever wants the role as Serpent Queen, she is going to give Betty and I a lot more respect.
Betty's biggest fear is not being a good mother. She was raised in a horrible environment. Her mother and father had been arguing since their honeymoon, then for some odd reason decided to have kids. Kids who had to suffer through their shitty parenting. Betty told me she always wanted to be a better mother than hers, and she absolutely is.
She's the most beautiful wife and the most amazing mother, both Ella and I are more than lucky to have her.
Dinner was soon done and I called Ella down. Before she came downstairs I took a quick taste, it tasted fairly average. Betty's would taste so much better. But hey, it won't give you food poisoning and that's all I require when I eat.
Ella walked into the kitchen and took a seat in her usual spot. I placed the bowl in front of her and she looked up to me as she raised an eyebrow.
"Why did you cook?" She asked.
"How'd you know it was me?" I asked as I placed my bowl opposite her.
"Mum usually mixes the cheese in, not just leave it on the top" she told me and I chuckled.
"As long as that's your only complaint" I said and she smirked.
I watched as she spun her fork and took a bite of the pasta. I watched her as I raised an eyebrow.
"It's okay, but mum does it better. Why isn't she cooking?" She asked as she played with her food.
"She's just taking a nap" I said as I ate my food.
"Why?" She asked.
"I don't think you have the right to be asking so many questions" I warned her.
"Is mum okay?" She asked as she pushed her bowl forward, indicating she wasn't going to eat until I spoke.
"She's fine" I said and she shook her head.
"I want to talk to mum" she said and I nodded my head.
"I hope it's to apologise" I said and she nodded her head.
"I didn't mean what I said early. I was angry" she said.
"Darling, you need to think before you say. Your mum deserved to be treated a lot better than that today" I said and she nodded her head, looking at the ground. I let out a sigh.
"Come give me a hug" I said and she instantly got up and pushed herself into my chest. I smiled as she sat in my lap and held me tight to her.
"I love mum more than anything. I didn't mean to say what I said, dad. I hate going to school and dealing with everyone there. I just want to work with you and mum" she said.
"You were like me when I was your age" I smiled. She gave me a confused smile.
"Really? Did grandpa let you drop out?" She asked with hope. I chuckled.
"I couldn't wait to push grandpa into retirement and take over his job" I said making her chuckle.
"But he didn't let me. He said I needed to mature. And I had a badass girlfriend who would kill me if I became Serpent King because she knew I wouldn't be ready" I said and she smiled.
"Mum?" She asked. I nodded my head.
"Your mum is the best thing to happen to me" I smiled and she smiled too as she rested her head on my shoulder.
"You and mum are perfect" she said. I held her tighter as I kissed her head.
"And you're our angel. Your mum never does anything if she isn't going to be perfect at it" I said as we both smiled.
"Can I talk to mum now?" She asked.
I could tell she was really desperate to apologise so I nodded my head.
We walked up to Betty and I's room and Ella took a seat by Betty.
I ran by hand over her arm and I watched as she slowly opened her eyes, landing on Ella.
"Is everything okay darling?" Betty mumbled as she sat up.
The fact that this girl even has doubts about being a good mother is beyond me. I have so much love and admiration for her.
Without saying anything, she pushed herself into Betty's chest. Betty wrapped her arms around Ella and kissed her cheek.
"Honey, what's wrong?" She asked Ella worriedly.
"Mum I love you so much and I am so sorry about earlier. I didn't mean it mum. I love you so much" she whispered.
Betty sighed as she held Ella tighter. Betty and I looked to each other for a moment, proud smiles on each of our faces.
"Thank you darling, you know I only want what is best for you. And staying in school is the best thing for you at the moment. You have all your life to take our roles, let us enjoy it for a bit" Betty winked at Ella who giggled.
"You're the best mum in the entire world" she said as she snuggled her head into Betty's neck.
"Your dad and I are so lucky to have you Angel, you don't understand how much we love you" she said as she caressed her cheek.
"Promise you're going to behave from now on? No more getting into trouble at school?" Betty asked Ella and she nodded her head.
"I promise mum" she said and Betty nodded.
"Good honey, now, did you make dinner?" Betty said as she looked to me, raising an eyebrow.
There we go, back into protective mother mode. Where our daughter can do no wrong.
"Yes I made dinner" I said like it was obvious.
"Was it edible?" She asked Ella.
Ella looked to me and then back to Betty as she quickly shook her head.
"Hey, my pasta is great" I said as I furrowed my eyebrows.
"He didn't make it the way you do" she said to Betty.
"You want me to mix the cheese and warm it up again?" Betty asked and Ella nodded her head with a smile.
"Come on, let's go and eat" she said as she pushed the blankets off of her.
We walked downstairs and as soon as Betty saw the mess, she let out a sigh. This made Ella laugh, I rolled my eyes.
"I get bullied in my own house, by the two loves of my life" I said as I shook my head.
"I love you honey" Betty chuckled as she picked up Ella's bowl and began putting the cheese in the way that she apparently likes.
"I love you too dad" she smiled as she kissed my cheek.
"Sure" I said sarcastically, making my girls laugh.
My two beautiful girls, they're perfect.
