A few days later Aries felt better, Madam Pomfrey had sent her the potion to help with the cold. She walked down into the library and saw Peter sat in his usual seat, his attention focused on his homework.
"Thanks for the soup." said Aries.
"Soup?" Peter said, pretending to look unphased. "I didn't make any soup."
"Oh well, in that case it wasn't even that nice." she said, hiding a smirk as he frowned slightly.
"I'm sure it was." he said, writing answers on his parchment.
Aries peered down at him. "Was thinking it needed a bit more salt."
"Oh really? Becoming a food critic, are we?"
"Didn't you think so?"
"Well I only added in a teaspoon-"
"Aha! I knew it was you- I mean I knew anyway but I got a full confession out of you." Aries said, smiling brightly.
Peter smiled looking at her. "You liked it then?"
"Yes, thank you. It was good soup."
"Glad you liked it, was an old recipe from my Nan. I can make a good chicken one as well but she used to make tomato whenever I was ill."
"I'll try the chicken one next time."
"Did you see what I did to that blood traitor? Stupid girl didn't stand a chance." Amycus Carrow snorted as he, Snape, Barty and Regulus walked past.
"One moment." Aries said to Peter, she walked up to the group. "Regulus, can I have a word?"
"I think you said everything last time we spoke." he said bluntly, turning back to the others.
"I didn't mean what I said, I was angry and-"
"Save your breath Aries, I'm not listening."
"Regulus-"
"You heard him, go away." Amycus said, cutting in front of her.
"This is between me and my brother, Carrow." Aries glared.
Regulus scoffed. "Don't make me laugh. You haven't considered me your brother for years, you and Sirius playing happy families at the Potters. Pretending that you're not like the rest of us."
"I am not like them, and neither are you-"
"Yes I am. And believe it or not Aries you are too, you can't escape the family when you feel like it, you will always be tied down by them."
Aries shook her head. "No, because unlike you I can make my own choices-"
"This is my choice."
"Right." Aries swallowed hard. "Your choice, of course. This is your last chance, because if this is your choice I don't want to be part of your life."
"That's fine by me." Regulus said, his face darkened, Aries saw the look of their mother in his eyes.
"Aries." Peter said softly, she felt him put his arm around her and they turned around.
"Go be with your blood traitor friends, you filthy mudblood lover." Regulus shouted, Aries paused, shaking her head.
Fuck it.
She pushed away from Peter and stormed towards Regulus, she didn't have time to pull out her wand so she did the next best thing and punched square in the nose. The two began to throw punches at each other as the Slytherins cheered them on.
"I'm going to kill you!" Regulus shouted, gripping her collar.
"You don't think I'll do the same!" Aries screamed back, blocking a hit.
"Mr Black! Miss Black! Stop fighting this instance!" Madam Pince said, rushing towards them.
Regulus aimed at her nose, she heard a crack but she didn't feel any pain, she had too much adrenaline to feel anything.
"I fucking hate you!" she pushed him down to the ground not missing any blows.
"Miss Black!"
"I hate you!" Regulus said, he grabbed her fist and pushed it away, upper cutting her stomach with force. Aries gasped for air clutching her stomach, but that didn't stop Regulus as he punched her jaw. Her mouth filled with the coppery taste of blood.
"You're too weak." he sneered as he stood.
She spat out the blood on the ground, she shook her head. "No I'm not." she tried to regain her balance, Regulus pounced towards her but he was stopped.
"Enough!" James shouted across the cheers, he pulled back Regulus as the crowd booed. "You have done enough!"
"Air?" Peter said, helping her to her feet, her head felt dizzy, spots blurred her vision. She now felt the pain from her nose and all the other places she was hit.
She looked back at her brother, his nose was bleeding and she could see the bruises start to form on his face. He struggled trying to lunge at her again but James kept a tight grip on him.
"I never want to see you again." Regulus spat.
"That's fine by me." Aries said coolly, turning away from him she walked down the corridor with Peter by her side.
She wiped the blood from her nose, trying to ignore the pain.
"Come on." Peter said, he walked her into one of the bathrooms and sat her down by the window. He then grabbed paper towels rinsing them under warm water. "Your nose is broken."
"You can tell?" she said.
"I can fix it." Peter said, taking out his wand. "I've had to fix the others several times after Quidditch."
Aries nodded.
"It's going to hurt a bit, episkey."
There was another loud click as her nose moved back into place but this time she could feel every bone snap.
"AH! FUCK!" she cried, she pressed her hand against her nose trying to soothe the pain but it didn't help.
"I'm sorry! Are you okay?" Peter winced while holding her arm, she ignored the butterflies in her stomach from his touch, she already felt embarrassed for him helping her.
"Yeah, fine- ow." she said, wiping more of the blood away with her sleeve.
"Here, you're going to get an infection if you keep using your sleeve." he said, dabbing her face with the paper towels, he gently placed his hand on her chin and cleaned up the blood.
"You should see the other guy." Aries stifled a laugh.
"I did see the other guy." Peter said, shaking his head with a smile it then faded. "Do you think you two are going to be okay after this?"
Aries looked down at her hands, she noticed her knuckles were bruised and cuts on them. "I don't know. Probably not."
Peter gave her a sympathetic smile, he then took her hand to clean her knuckles. He sighed slightly, "Remind me to never get on the bad side of you."
"Not going to become a death eater are you?"
"Not planning on it."
"Good, then you're fine." she said.
"There, you're all done." Peter said, putting the tissues in the bin.
"How do I look?" she said weakly.
He looked at her for what seemed like hours, his eyes traced her entire face and he curled his lips into a heartwarming smile. "Beautiful."
Aries' face fell for a moment, "What?" she said in a small voice.
He took a piece of hair that had fallen in front of her face and tucked it back behind her ear. "You look beautiful, Aries."
Aries furrowed her brows, did he actually say that? Surely not. He said she was a good friend the other day. How could he say this now?
She laughed it off. "Of course I am." she said sarcastically.
"I'm not messing with you, Air."
"But you said-"
"I like you. I have for weeks and I thought you were dating someone else that's why I never tried anything."
"You what?" Aries said, looking at Peter in disbelief. "Who did you think I was... with?"
"Don't laugh, I thought it was Benjy."
"Ben?" she said, giving a small laugh.
"I said don't laugh."
"I'm not- I just can't believe you thought I was with Benjy."
"Yeah, Marlene shouted at me the other day. That's when I found out you weren't so I asked you to Hogsmeade and you said no, which fair enough and-"
Aries cut him off by kissing him, he seemed taken aback but relaxed as he kissed back.
"I like you too." Aries said, leaning back.
They were startled by a loud bang, the door opened and Sirius walked in, James followed behind him.
"Air! James told me about you and Regulus-" he said, he stopped when he saw the cuts on her face. "I'm going to kill him."
"Sirius, it's not like I didn't do anything to him-"
"He can't go around fighting you like that."
"I defended myself."
"Yeah, in fairness mate, Regulus didn't look much better." James said, trying to pull Sirius away. "Plus I think we interrupted something."
"What you on about? We didn't-" he looked back at Aries and Peter, blinking at them then gaping. His eyes darted across the two stopping at Aries. "My best friend?"
She sighed, rolling her eyes. "Sirius."
"Really, Air?"
Aries nodded. "Yeah."
"Fine, I guess I can live with that, but if you hurt him... I'll kill you." Sirius then switched onto Peter. "And if you hurt her... I'll kill you too."
"Cross my heart and hope to die." Peter said.
"Alright Padfoot, let's leave these lovebirds alone." James said, walking Sirius out, "Now you kids, behave yourselves."
He closed the door behind him, they could hear him excitedly say. "I'm going to tell Marls! Now she isn't going to kill Pete."
Aries furrowed her eyebrows and looked at Peter.
"It's a long story."
"I'd rather do this anyway." she said, leaning in to kiss him again.
