"so we are going to do some tests straight away, you have an ultrasound booked for an hour but to fill the time we need to do some blood tests, make sure you two are not injured and make sure nothing is infected." marie says

"you're doing just fine, you had a bad hit. it's gonna hit you hard, but you're in safe hands here." the doctor tells me clipping my bed to the wall
"y/n is doing okay as well." he says looking at me
"y/n?" i ask
"yes, she's fine." he says
"y/n?" i say, "i don't know an y/n." i say
"we got told she was your girlfriend." he tells me
"no katie's my girlfriend." i say
"oh dear, sorry we got it wrong." he says
"don't do it again." i say

"this might hurt just a tad." a different doctor says holding the needle to my arm
i pinch my eyes closed and turn my head away, i feel a tiny pinch as i squirm.
"relax, all over." he says as i open my eyes
i take a deep breath and hold it in.
"are you feeling alright?" he asks
"yeah, just nervous." i say
"what for?" he asks
"baby, and for my boyfriend." i say
"ah, that must be phil. i heard you two came together." he says
"yeah, we've been together a while now. he's the father." i say
"i'll try sort some things out then." the doctor says
"what things?" i ask
"i'll make sure phil is there for the ultrasound." he says
"thank you so much." i say
"i'll see you soon." he says leaving my hospital room
i stare at the wall opposite me, i put my hand under the pillow and close my eyes.
*an hour later*
"wake up lovely." a new nurse says
i open my eyes.
"i'm dilara, i'll be taking you to your ultrasound." she says
"thank you." i say
"now let's get you there." she says unclipping my bed from the wall

"right we need to get you to the ultrasound." a new doctor says coming in
"what? what ultrasound?" i ask
"your girlfriend's ultrasound." he says
"katie's here?" i ask
"no, y/n." he says
"what is it with this y/n? i don't know an y/n." i say
"she said you two were together, and she was carrying your baby." he tells me
"i have a baby?!" i ask
"not yet, but apparently it's on the way." he says
"you've got it all wrong, i've not knocked any girls up recently." i say
"i'll be back..." he says leaving the room

dilara knocks on the ultrasound room door waiting for someone to let us in.
"hello, i'm annie." the nice lady says opening it, "come on in."
dilara wheels the wheelchair into the room. they both help me up and onto the bed covered in blue paper.
annie lifts my top up revealing my tiny baby bump, she puts her gloves on ad grabs the stick of jelly.
"wait." i say
"is everything okay?" she asks
"we're waiting for someone." i say
"who?" she asks
"my boyfriend, i got told he would be here." i say
"i haven't heard anything... let me call my colleague." she says grabbing her walkie talkie out
"hello, this is annie in room 3092 with patient y/n grealish. i've been told we are waiting for someone? can you check the files and see how many people we were expecting." i hear her say
"okay thank you so much." she says letting go of it
"i've talked to them, they said they'd call back in two minutes." annie tells me
"thank you." i say, "he's the father by the way."
"makes sense." she says, "we can start but i won't put it on the screen till he's here?"
"okay just as long as he can see something." i say
"i promise." she says grabbing the jelly again and spreading it across my stomach
she grabs the stick and starts walking it round my belly.
"oh my gosh." she says
"what is everything okay?" i ask sitting up
"everything's perfect, i've got good news to tell you." she says
"tell me now, i promise. i want to here, it's not my fault he's late." i say wanting to know desperately
