there's a knock on the door.
"come in." i shout
it wasn't peter, it wasn't the doctor, it was gareth.
"hi y/n how are you feeling?" he asks me
"I'm alright." i say
"i heard the good news, congratulations!" he says walking closer over to the bed i was lay on
"thank you." i say
"who's the father?" he asks me
"i don't know..." i reply
"we can sort that out you know, you can get these things tested." gareth says
"not for ages though, atleast another month and a half." i say
"is it either phil or peter?" he asks
"could only be them." i say
"and has phil left?" he asks
"i guess, i haven't seen him since. peter's only downstairs getting me a drink." i say
"i really think you need to choose one or the other." gareth says
"i've tried, i can't count the amount of times i've tried to break up with peter. he won't understand, every time i do it over the phone he thinks someone has stolen it and every time i do it in person he tells me i need rest." i say
"i'll have a word with him." he says
"you can try." i reply
"are you still planning to come to st georges tomorrow?" he asks me
"phil wouldn't like that.." i say
"it's not about phil." gareth says
"you're right, i will come." i say
"good, y/n if you ever need help with anything i'm always here." he says with his hands in his pockets
"thank you." i say
i'd lost a father figure today, but gareth filling in meant the world.
the door open and peter walked in and handed me the drink he got me.
"peter do you mind if i have a chat with you outside?" gareth asks him
"okay." he replies following him out.
i take a sip of the drink peter got for me before putting it down on the table next to my bed. i pick my phone up at the same time and see messages from maya.

maya: gal you're in hospital again?
me: you surprised though?
maya: no thats your new thing now
me: it's my talent
maya: srsly tho, what the hell happened?
me: got run over
maya: how can you say that so casually, you're like 'yeh just got run over innit, who cares, could of died but oh well'
me: i mean it is true
maya: BABEEEE I THINK U NEED TO START TAKING YOUR LIFE A BIT MORE SERIOUS
me: i mean i've got nothing to lose, parents kicked me out, kinda cheated on my boyfriend but not really, nearly died
maya: kinda? how can you kinda?
me: i slept with peter when me and phil were together
maya: but you and peter were together aswell so don't put yourself down for that
me: maya
maya: yes
me: i'm pregnant
maya: ha
me: i'm not joking, i'm fucking pregnant
maya: with what boy?!
me: i don't know
maya: y/nnnnn!
me: it's an issue
maya: i can tell
me: i don't know what to do
maya: it's up to you
me: no not with the baby, i'm keeping the baby. but i don't know what to do with phil, he stormed out earlier after finding out i slept with peter.
maya: the truth is he shouldn't of done that especially when you just found out you were pregnant. that was a lot of stress on you and he is just making it worse.
me: so you're saying stay with peter?
maya: NO, you are better than that. you deserve to be with the man you want to be with. i'm just saying think things through before you be the suck up to phil and start apologizing every 2 minutes because you have your rights. he should of been the bugger person and learnt to deal with the fact you slept with peter and care for his pregnant girlfriend.
me: i don't know if we're even together anymore
maya: we can sort that out in a few days, just promise me girl that you're not gonna call him or speak to him tonight. he wants you to fall into his trap.
me: i promise, thank you maya. i always need your help.
maya: i know, i'm your therapist. you're lucky i don't m charge you.
me: i have a whole lotta problems
maya: but helping you with them is my favorite thing to do
me: that is the nicest thing you've ever said to me
maya: well think about it, i could either sit here talking to you or do nothing. i'm not allowed out.
me: i would choose nothing
maya: you tryna get rid of me?
me: no i honestly don't know what i'd do if you left me
