i didn't know my way around wembley, i just walked around until i accidentally bumped into someone.
"sorry." i say as i look up
it was mase, i throw my arms around him
"hey what's up?" he asks me rubbing my back
"me and phil." i tell him
"what happened?" he asks
"you have to keep it quiet, i don't want him thinking i told everyone." i say
"i promise." mason says
"we were talking about me leaving then phil said all this stuff and he said i need to learn to stick up for myself cause i'm 20, then i said are you trying to say i let people control myself and i left." i explain pulling away from the hug
"i'm sorry y/n, you obviously can speak up for yourself." mason tells me
"thank you." i say
"i've got to go, there's 40 minutes till kick off. but just know i don't want to leave you when you're like this but i have no choice." he says
"no i know, it's okay. have a good game if i don't see you before." i say
"thank you." he replies running off in the opposite direction
i walk to one of the exits onto the pitch and see all the fans starting to come in and sit down, i walk over to the sub bench and sit down and put my face in my hands.
i feel someone put their arm around my shoulder, i look up and see phil. i remove his hand from me.
"y/n please, i didn't mean anything i said." he says
"why did you say it then." i reply not making eye contact
"i don't know, just the fact that you're leaving me." phil says
"how many times phil?! i don't want to leave! it's not my fault." i say getting off the bench and running in through the tunnel trying to hide my face from cameras
i manage to run into gareth.
"y/n, y/n stop running, calm down what's wrong?" he asks me holding both of my shoulders to stop me going anywhere
"nothing." i reply looking away
"i think it's obvious that there's something going on." gareth says
"it really doesn't matter, focus on the final preparations for the game." i say
"i'm the england manager, my team are about to play but i'm not walking onto the pitch without knowing why you're upset." he says
"something happened between me and phil." i finally let out
"do you want to talk about it?" gareth asks me
"no not really." i reply
"and that is perfectly okay, as long as that's what you want to do. now are you going to be okay?" he asks me
"yes." i reply
"now i hope you don't mind but i'm going to have to have a talk with phil, to make sure he's going to play with 100% effort." he tells me
"it's fine, don't worry." i say as he rubs my shoulder and walks outside.
