"Hey, Rosie. What's up, baby?" You asked through the phone as you laid down in your bed after a busy day at work.
You just arrived home and planned on resting for a few minutes before you'd take a quick shower and figure out the rest of your evening.
But as soon as you saw the text from Rosie asking if you could call her when you got home, you put that above all else due to your excitement.
"Hey, baby. Do you have any plans tonight?"
"No. Why?" You asked as you sat up against your pillows, biting your lip in excitement as you wondered if she was going to ask what you hope she would.
"Well, I have about twenty minutes left at work. I don't have any plans for the evening and I'm stressed, so I hoped we could spend the evening together."
"I'd love that." You said with the biggest smile on your face and you wondered if she was doing the same on the other end of the phone.
"Great. I'll order takeout and then head on over. I'll see you soon."
"I can't wait." You grinned and ended the call before closing your eyes and squealing excitedly.
You're still at the start of your relationship. You met a few weeks ago and you only recently became official.
You wanted to shout from the rooftops about how head over heels you already are.
She's everything you've ever dreamt of finding in a partner and she treats you like a queen.
You've never felt happier in all your life and you so want to share that with your family and friends.
But she's asked you not to.
She won't tell you the reason why just saying that she's more comfortable keeping things private as you get to know each other better.
She simply says she wants to fall in love with you in secret for a while before you share your love with others.
You didn't complain and agreed.
You like how she's not someone who wants to constantly flaunt their relationship over social media.
You like how she only ever takes photos of the both of you to keep to herself, never once sharing them with anyone.
You found it sweet.
You were happy just to fall in love without the pressure of telling the world about it.
You're a private person, you enjoy keeping moments of your life away from others.
So, you didn't mind her not wanting to tell anyone yet. You enjoyed it.
The only thing you find odd is how secretive she is about her work.
She's always so busy with it, sending you morning texts at four in the morning, either when she heads out for work or when she's still working.
She works late, sometimes all night, or until times like two or three in the morning.
And yet, she still won't tell you anything about her job. She says it's too secretive and when the time is right, she'll tell you.
But you're curious and your wonder about what she does for a living only grows every day.
You still had the idea of taking a quick shower before she came but you decided that you'd check your Apple Music and see if there were any new songs that you could listen to while you showered.
You started to scroll through the new music and paused when you saw a face on some album artwork that looked very familiar.
It looked like... Rosie.
Surely, it had to be some sort of coincidence.
But because your curiosity was getting the best of you, you looked up the artist, taking you to the channel of the singer that called herself Rose.
You recognized the song but you've never seen the video before, mostly because you just don't have the time and when you do, you're much too tired to really do anything other than sleep.
So you were shocked when you saw that it was your girlfriend singing the song titled Gone. You had to admit that she looked awfully cute in the video and her voice was absolutely gorgeous.
But you were too surprised to finish it as too many thoughts began to run through your mind.
Just to make sure you weren't confused before you confronted her, you did a quick search and when you looked her up, you found that all the information was identical to things she told you.
So many things were going through your head.
Why didn't she tell you?
It's obviously huge and very important information.
Does she not trust you enough to tell you?
Does she not know if she's as invested in this relationship as she told you she is? Does she not know if she should tell you because you might think of her differently? That you might use her or betray her?
The thoughts running through your mind honestly hurt to think about.
But you didn't have much time to think too hard. Because you heard what sounded like pebbles hitting your window and when you got up and looked outside, you saw Rosie standing out there with a big smile on your face.
You rushed downstairs and opened the door.
She greeted you with a kiss and smiled against your lips before pulling away a second after her sweet lips met yours.
"Hey! I knocked and knocked but you didn't hear me!" She chuckled as she put the food on the table and you closed the front door.
"Sorry. I got caught up in something."
"Is everything alright?" She asked and you found her eyes full of worry when they locked with yours.
"We need to talk."
"Oh, no," she sighed and you quickly shook your head as you realized what the words falling from your lips most likely suggested to her at first.
"No! No, not like that. I don't want to break up with you. But this is important."
"Okay. I'm listening." She said as she sat beside you on the sofa, her hand falling to your thigh as she sent you a sweet smile.
"I found something out today."
She nodded for you to continue.
"I was looking through some new songs, trying to find some good new music, and I saw one that had the album artwork on it and the girl on it looked awfully familiar to me."
She sighed, already knowing where you were heading with this.
"And I thought it was just my eyes playing tricks on me, so I looked up the video and I saw that it was you."
She bit her lip and stared down at her lap.
"Is it you, Rosie?"
"Yes." She confessed. "I should've told you. Of course it was just a matter of time until you found out. I knew it was bound to happen eventually."
"You could've told me." You said and she lifted her head, nodding slowly. "I know we haven't been together very long but you can trust me. You know that, right?"
"Of course I do, my love. I trust you, I promise you that. It's just... that part of my life is so complicated. Everyone wants to know everything about me if they don't already. Everyone thinks they know me. They love me or they hate me. They judge me. Everything about my life is always put out there for the world to see. I didn't want you to have to go through that. I didn't want you to go through the judgement and hatred you're sure to get if and when the world finds out about us."
"Rosie, I get that you didn't tell me and that part of your life is hard and I'm sorry for everything you go through. But I'm strong enough to handle that. People's opinions don't bother me. They especially wouldn't if it came to you. Did you ever plan on telling me?
"Of course I did, baby. I wasn't going to keep this from you forever. I just wanted you to get to know me for the real me before you found out about that part of my life and found out about... Rosé."
"I understand. You know I'm not the type of person to use you or ruin your trust. I promise you that I see you for the girl that I'm falling head over heels for, not for your persona and the girl the rest of the world thinks they know."
You cupped her cheeks and watched her eyes light up.
"I know. And, just so you know, you're the first person I've ever fallen so hard for. I don't want to lose you. Because I like you... a lot."
"You won't lose me, Rosie. I like you, the real you, way too much to ever let that happen."
She pulled you in for a sweet kiss and when she pulled away, she put her forehead on yours and smiled at you brighter than ever before.
"That's why you didn't want to tell me about your job? Or tell people I know about us?"
She nodded.
"Well, I can't blame you for that. I imagine it's rough to go through everything you do."
"Yeah, it can be. But then I met you and everything seems a lot better and brighter now."
You gave her a big hug, putting your cheek on her shoulder as she rubbed your back.
"I'm crazy about you."
"I feel the same way about you, Rosie." You said and kissed her neck softly, causing her to giggle as her heart fluttered.
"You've got a beautiful voice, by the way."
"Thanks. I get that a lot."
You both laughed as she held you tighter, never wanting to let go.
You're changing her life, giving her happiness like she's never felt before.
She felt a weight lift from her chest. It went even better than she thought it would, which said a lot because she had a feeling you'd be so understanding about it.
It just made her fall even harder for you.
