Let's begin with the chapter now.
Siya's POV
After the fiasco, since most of the trainees were still in the hotel, Akash asked the hotel staff to arrange rooms for everyone since travelling was out of the question due to heavy rain.
Sanchit was kept in a separate room with bodyguards guarding him so that he wouldn't run away as Akash had decided that he would talk to the company's management in discreet and had strictly instructed anyone that not a single word should travel to anybody apart from the ones present here.
Since the hotel belonged to him, he said collecting evidence against him would be easy and it wouldn't take time.
"I'll do anything in my power to keep her reputation intact" was his exact words as he knew, words would travel faster than we could imagine.
Right now, we were in his room at the hotel with him making some phone calls, probably talking to Adarsh as he was the one managing hotel business, so he had to know about it.
Apparently he would help in speeding up the process of collecting evidence as there were strict instructions that any such incidence needs his approval to proceed.
"Yeah I know Adarsh it wasn't required to take your permission but you know the rules. Just because I am your brother that doesn't mean I have the rights to break it" he said after listening to him for a few minutes.
I was watching him talking to Adarsh for about half an hour now. Probably explaining what had happened here.
"I know bhai, but you're my brother, elder brother to be precise. What's mine is yours bhai, you don't have to ask me ever. You just have to order, not take my permission for anything" Adarsh said as he was on speaker.
"Thanks bhai" he said and disconnected the call.
I was, sitting on the bed, heck worried for Kriti and even network wasn't proper due to the thunderstorm and raining that was continuously happening since today night.
I wonder how could Akash talk to Adarsh without any interruption and cracking in signal. Even he tried calling on Sid's and Kriti's number but the call wasn't connecting. Only medium of communication was messages which Sid and Akash were doing frequently.
"I am worried for Kriti" I said to Akash and he turned around since he was facing the window.
"Don't worry Sid is with her, he'll take care of her" he said, but I knew even he was heck worried for her.
This damn rainfall, there was no sign of it getting reduced or stopping altogether.
"Damn it" I gritted my teeth in frustration, throwing my phone.
"What happened?" Akash asked.
"The call isn't getting connected. I am heck worried about her" I said, keeping my hands on my head in frustration.
I was trying her number for a while now but the damn call wouldn't connect.
Sighing, he said "come here."
I went to him and he hugged me. I hugged him back.
Kissing the top of my head, he said "everything'll be fine, don't worry. I promise."
"I...I just don't know Akash. I should've gone with them" I asked, feeling angry at myself for leaving her alone when she needed me.
"She was with me when I needed her, when I tried committing...suicide but here, I am not with her when she needs me" I said and tear slipped my eyes.
"I am such a bad friend" I said and broke down in his arms.
"Shhh...please don't cry" he said, kissing my hair.
"I know you want to be there for her but Sid has already texted me that he'll be there for her" he said and made me sit on the chair.
Kneeling down to my level, wiping my tears, he said "please Siya, stop crying."
"Why didn't you let me go with them" I whined.
"That's because Kriti needed Sid with her, not you" he said, making me confused.
"What do you mean?" I asked him.
Taking my hand in his, he proceeded to the bed and sat leaning on the headboard.
"Come" he said and made me sit between his legs, my back facing his chest.
Wrapping his arms around my waist, he made me sit closer to him and kept his chin on my head.
"Did you see her face when Sid was punching that bastard?" he asked and I shook my head.
"I was too busy looking at her. I didn't notice anything else" I said.
"When she asked him not to punch Sanchit anymore, she was shivering and when he looked at her and hugger her, she broke down. Did you notice that Sid was the one she asked to take her home and not you?" he asked and I tried to remember the scene.
Pondering over the scene, I realized that indeed what Akash said was right.
"She wasn't seeking your comfort Siya, she wanted Sid to be with him. Moreover, if my assumption was wrong, she would've asked you to come along and not him. If she was uncomfortable with Sid, she would've said no straight away but she didn't. She wanted to be with him" he said and I realized that it was indeed true, she never asked me to tag along.
"You think this incident will change the dynamics of their relation?" I asked.
Sighing, he said "frankly speaking I don't know Siya. I really wanted them to sort their differences out but I never knew she would've to go through this kind of situation."
"I'll make sure to show him living heck. I'll destroy his career" he said, seething in anger.
"Akash, I know I don't have any right to say anything on this and it should be Kriti's decision but destroying somebody's career..." I said and trailed off.
"What? You don't want him to be punished for his deeds?" he asked.
"I do...I really do but...destroying his career will it not be too harsh on him?" I asked in a timid voice.
"How could you Siya? Do you've any idea if he would've rap..." he trailed off. He was clearly pissed off.
Taking deep breath, he said "do you've any idea that if he would've been successful, Kriti's life would've been destroyed? How much humiliation she would've to face her whole life? He had the audacity to tear her dress, to downgrade her modesty and you think just destroying his career isn't fair to him? Then tell me Siya, was him molesting her, fair to Kriti?"
I didn't have anything to say.
"I know what you're saying is right Akash. It's just that I am very soft hearted and may be if I would've been in her place, I would've forgiven him" I said.
He turned me around in a swift motion and said "if anyone would've the audacity to even touch your hair, I will chop him off myself and feed them to dogs."
I gulped hard looking at his murderous stare. He was seething in anger by now.
Taking deep breaths to calm himself down and cupping my cheeks, he said "listen Siya, I know most of the girls here In India tend to forgive their assaulter and I completely understand them. Be it because of family or pressure from society. Most girls don't take stand for themselves because they don't have enough support but that's not the case with Kriti."
"She has me, Mohit, Samaira, Sid, you and most importantly, her parents. I can't understand when bastards like him have the audacity to even think about doing such a heinous crime, why don't you girls be a little heartless for once, show a little courage to punish people like him who don't even think once before doing such filthy act?" he said.
He had a point, if men are at fault, so are we. If only we be a little heartless, just for once and agree to punish them rather than forgive them.
"I am sorry" I said and looked down.
"I know you're soft hearted baby but sometimes you need to be a little heartless as well" he said and I hummed.
Turning forward, I said "I feel like part of it is my fault as well. If only I hadn't left her alone" I said and a tear rolled down my eyes.
"Don't say that baby. None of it is your fault. Even you were unaware something this wicked was coming for her or I know, you would've never left her alone" he said and kissed my hair.
"Will she be alright?" I asked, my voice, barely a whisper.
"I know she'll be. She's a fighter, a tough girl. I know this incidence must have broken her down but we'll be there for her, you'll be there for her, like she has always been there for you" he said and I hummed.
"You want to take some rest?" he asked and I nodded.
"Okay then, I should go to my room" I said and was about to get up when he tugged at my wrist.
I raised my eyebrow in question when he said "stay with me, please."
I smiled and nodded my head.
Akash's POV
After the conversation that we had and asking Siya to stay with me, she slept in my arms but sleep was far away from me.
I was constantly being reminded about the act Sanchit pulled which made my blood boil.
"I won't spare him" I whispered to myself.
I silently thanked god that at least Sid went to check on her or I don't know what would've happened.
After the last text I sent to him that we wouldn't be able to come back today because of the heavy rainfall, he texted me back saying that he would take care of Kriti.
I just hope she's fine.
My thoughts went to Siya and when I looked at her, she was sleeping like a baby.
Kissing her forehead, I took a vow to protect her, always.
In all of this, I forgot that I need to inform Kriti's parents and Mohit about it.
Fuck, how am I going to handle them?
Samaira, Mohit would be so disappointed with me. I promised them I would take care of her but I failed.
I think I'll need Siya's help since she is more close to them than me.
Contemplating these thoughts, I slept in my baby's arms.
I felt a tingling sensation on my chin and when I opened my one eye, I saw Siya trying to tickle my light stubble.
I chuckled and stretched my arms. She immediately came to me and resting her head on my shoulder, sighed.
"It's already morning Akash and even rainfall has stopped. Can we please go to Kriti now?" she said and I sighed.
"Of course baby. Let me freshen up and then I need to sort something here. Then we can head home" I said and she nodded.
After freshening up and coming out of the washroom, I kissed Siya's forehead and said "you get ready, I'll be back in half an hour."
She nodded and gave me a wide smile.
I then made my way to the room where Sanchit was which was being guarded by my bodyguards.
"So I see, you had a good stay here" I said, sitting on the chair, looking at Sanchit who was tied to the chair. His eyes and face covered in blue and black bruises which was, I think given by the bodyguards.
"I won't leave you" he said and coughed blood.
Scoffing, I said "easy there. You aren't even in a condition to say anything properly, without coughing and you've the audacity to threaten me? Do you even know who I am?"
My eyes darkened with each word that I was saying.
"Have you ever heard of the name Aman Sharma?" I said and he seems to be confused for a few seconds and as if realization hit him, his eyes widened.
"Yo..You're Akash Sharma, his son?" he asked horrified.
"Yup, that's me" I said, keeping my one leg over the other leg's knee.
"This hotel, the whole empire is being handled by my cousin Adarsh Sharma" I said and his mouth hung open.
"Ple...please don't do anything with me" he pleaded.
"I still remember I asked your intentions towards the girls and you said your intentions have always been noble for Kriti. Is this what you meant when you said those stupid things to me, just to convince me? Just to make you aware, Kriti's and my family have been friends for as long as I can remember. Did you even think what would be the consequences if you even lay a finger on her?" I asked through my gritted teeth.
"You'll regret what you did to her and I'll definitely make you regret the day you were born" I said through my gritted teeth and took predatory steps towards him.
He visibly paled at my words and I knew he would pass out in sometime.
Taking his cheeks and tightly clutching them between my hand, I said "I still don't know why you did it to her but whatever the reason is, doesn't justify your actions. If you were so much eager to shove your non existent dick in her and rape her, you should've come to me. I would've arranged the city's best escort to fulfil your desires for as long as you wanted, free of cost but you messed with my sister. I'll make sure to show what Sharma's and Singh's are."
Shoving him on the chair that he was sitting on, I got up and giving a final look to him, I stormed off.
I was raging by now but I had to keep my emotions in check as I had to take care of other trainees as well.
Making my way to the hotel's lobby, I saw all the other trainees waiting for me.
I had asked the receptionist to call all of them in the lobby before making my way to Sanchit. That would save time.
"Since there's still traffic due to heavy rain, although it has stopped, we couldn't arrange for separate cabs for everyone. Cabs have been arranged for you all according to the location where you all reside. Please let your locations know at the reception, they'll guide you which cab to board. Also, about what happened last night, I expect you all to act mature and not talk about it to anyone, be it your family or anyone in office, until and unless asked by me or Siddharth. I expect you all to co-operate" I said and they all nodded.
"Kriti is one of you, your colleague. I hope you all wouldn't do or say anything that would hurt her or her reputation. I know there will be gossips but I expect you all not to get involved in any of them and avoid as much office gossips as possible" I said.
Someone from the crowd said "we know Sir and we all promise you that we'll try to keep her out of it as much as possible and we'll never do anything that would make her uncomfortable. That's the least we can do for you and Siddharth sir."
"Yes sir, we respect you and Siddharth sir a lot. We would do anything that you ask us to do" some other voice said.
"Thank you so much for your support" I said with a smile.
"Also, once you reach home, I expect to let your respective leads know about your safe arrival. You all are our responsibility and your safety as well" I said and they all nodded.
Finally, once they dispersed, I made my way to my room.
Knocking on the door, I entered the room and saw Siya ready, waiting for me.
"Ready?" I said and she nodded.
Once in the car which was arranged by Adarsh, I made my way to driver's seat after Siya sat on the passenger seat.
"I called Kriti but she didn't pick up" she said, worried.
"I think she must be sleeping" I said and she nodded.
"I hope she's fine" she said and sighed.
"I know, she'll be" I said and taking her hands in mine, I kissed her knuckles and kept our intertwined hands on my lap but I wasn't prepared for the sight that I would see once I reach home.
