Betty POV:
I stood in the halls of Riverdale High as I watched them flood with students from South Side High.
"Betty look at me" she said softly, caressing her hand over my cheek and gently pulling my face so I was facing her.
I looked into her eyes, seeing how worried she was for me. I was worried about myself too. I need to be okay.
"Put on a pretty smile, don't look at him and show him that you're doing perfect" she smiled at me, continuing to caress my cheek. I let my head rest in her hand as I closed my eyes for a moment.
"Okay" I said as I opened my eyes and put a smile on my face. She let go of my cheek and I held my head up.
Sweet Pea, my ex boyfriend, would be joining the school today. We broke up about a month ago and the emotions and pain are still very, very real. He destroyed me.
Things in our relationship were perfect. Every single thing about us were perfect. He had never in his life had perfect, so that's why he fucked it up. No one in his life had ever loved him as much as I did, yet when I gave him my everything, he dumped me. He thought it was weird and suspicious that nothing bad happened between us. So he broke up with me. He said he didn't trust me and that I was playing him.
Veronica and I walked to her locker and then mine, getting out our stuff for a double lesson of English. One of the worst yet best subjects. The teacher is absolutely amazing, but their is so much work yet so little time to do it all. Plus, you could say I'm a little lazy.
Veronica and I took a seat in our usual spots, in the back left corner. She sat by the window and I sat by her side.
"If he makes us do any work today, I will simply just not" she said making me chuckle.
For the first term and a half, we rarely did any work in class as he'd spend the lesson talking to us the whole time. Last week he actually made us do work in class and it was a real shock to the system.
"You didn't even do the work he wanted us to do" I smirked as I raised an eyebrow at her.
"So, I still felt betrayed" she said as she furrowed her eyebrows, making me chuckle.
The teacher and other students entered the room, filling up the seats. Who I saw enter in last made my blood boil. Sweet Pea with some bitch wrapped around him.
I felt as Veronica tapped my arm. I couldn't take my eyes off of him and this girl. She was wearing his Serpent jacket, the one he would give me on every single date. The one where he would give me fake pouts whenever I wasn't wearing it.
"Betty don't do this to yourself" she said to me but I didn't bother to look at her.
The girl was shorter than Sweet Pea, shorter than me. Sweet Pea always said I was the perfect height, so perfect for him to wrap his arms around me. He didn't love her, there was no way he could. He would be holding her a lot closer, kissing her head to assert dominance over her in this new environment.
He doesn't love her the way he loved me. He made sure everyone knew that we were together and more than happy. But look at him, his arms were by his side and she was the one making contact with him, not the other way around.
I felt a pain in my leg, immediately making me look to my left. I saw Veronica holding a pen, it's lid still on.
"Did you just stab me?" I asked her with a confused expression forming on my face.
"The lid was on, so technically no. You weren't listening to me" she said as she put her pen down and gave me an evil sort of smile. I let out a small chuckle as I shook my head.
The lesson soon began as I watched from the corner of my eye Sweet Pea and his girl. They sat in the same spot as Veronica and I, just on the opposite side of the room.
Every time Veronica noticed me looking in that direction, she'd stab my leg with her pen. Each time I'd roll my eyes and occasionally when the teacher was writing stuff on the whiteboard, I'd shoot her my middle finger.
"B, that relationship is done. It's time you forget about him and be a girl boss or you forget about him and date someone" she said as she gave me a confident smile.
"I'm not ready to get into another relationship" I told her and she nodded her head.
"that's fine B, we'll work on that" she said and I laughed. She gave me a confused look.
"We'll?" I questioned her. She gave me a look as if I was stupid.
"No shit?" She said as she furrowed her eyebrows. I rolled my eyes playfully.

It's been three days since the Serpents came to our school and Veronica has been doing everything in her power to distract me. Including now, as we sat in a bar.
The scent of alcohol filled the room, as well as people dancing on the dance floor.
Veronica and I had been dancing for an hour by now and I begged her to let me have a seat. She finally gave into me and I got some much needed rest.
I enjoyed the peace for a moment and the coldness in the air. Dancing body to body with other people, the air is humid and hot.
I closed my eyes for a moment as I let out a laugh, letting my head fall backwards.
"Glad to see you're enjoying yourself, my love" she chuckled out as she pressed the cold drink to my hot and most likely red face. The coldness felt so good.
I took the drink from out of her hand and practically skulled it.
"You having fun?" she asked with a smile as she sat by my side and wrapped her arm over my shoulder. She handed me her drink.
"Yes" I smiled as I nodded my head.
We sat in silence for a few minutes, just enjoying the moment.
"You know, I fell in love with this girl. The first moment I saw her" she chuckled out as her head rested on my shoulder.
"What? Who? We've been best friends for years V. How the hell could you hide that? I had a crush on Sweet Pea and told you within the same two seconds that I realised" I said and she laughed.
"This girl, she's perfect B. She deserves the absolute world and I will continue to give it to her" she said, not looking at me, but into the sea of horny young adults dancing.
"Name?" I asked and she shook her head no.
"She's been through a lot, she's been hurt a lot. I want to be the one to show her real love. What it feels like" she said, like in her own little world.
"Sounds like this girl would be more than lucky to have you. I mean, anyone would be lucky to have you" I told her.
Veronica is one of the most amazing people I know. She is always there for you, no matter what. No matter who's right or wrong. And during this whole South Side coming to Riverdale High thing, she has constantly been checking up on me.
"Oh of course" she said making me laugh. Her confidence is one of her great qualities.
"I just don't know if she likes me" she said, an upset look on her face.
"Have you tried anything with her?" I asked. She smiled as she shook her head no.
"I could now" she smirked. I nodded my head, she is going to text this girl and get herself a girlfriend in which she is madly in love with.
She pulled up her head and raised her hand to my cheek. She took a deep breath in as she leaned her head in towards me.
Our lips touched and even more shockingly, I kissed back.
"wait, wait, wait" she said as she pulled away.
"what?" I asked nervously, moving myself so I was away from her. I feel so embarrassed now.
"you didn't pull away" she said, a confused smile on her face.
"well after everything you just said, I don't think I could" I said. She smiled from ear to ear as she blushed.
She decided to hide this from me by again, pushing her lips onto mine.
The kiss started off slow put as we got more comfortable with it, the kiss became rougher and more heated.
She wrapped her arms around my waist and I moved myself into her lap, straddling her. The kiss was so perfect but we both needed air.
We slowly leaned out of the kiss and rested our foreheads against one another.
"I've wanted to do that to you for a very long time beautiful" she said as she wrapped one arm around my waist and then with her other, she pushed some of my hair behind my ear.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" I asked as I looked down into her eyes.
"My sweet girl, everything takes time" she said, making me blush.
"so, what does this mean for us?" I asked her.
"well it depends, are you ready to get into another relationship Betty?" She asked.
I paused for a moment as I thought about if I was ready to get into another relationship. I nodded my head and she smiled.
"Well then, I would like to ask you a question" she smirked. I raised an eyebrow.
She loves that she's in control of this situation, in control of me.
"What's that question Veronica?" I asked her, trying to gain some control. She chuckled.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" she asked, her cheeks blushing a light shade of pink. I blushed too, apart from my cheeks were much more red than hers.
"Yeah V, I'd really like that" I smiled as I wrapped my arms around her tight, resting my head on her shoulder.
"My girl has never looked cuter" she whispered into my ear, a smirk radiating off of her voice. Let's just say I'm glad my face is hidden.
