Still restless we had to push forward . We waited for a good amount of time before we even said a word . James and I stayed up the most . He looked at me and I could see his eyes were blood shot red . It wasn't hard to guess mines were the same way . Janet suggested since it seemed safe we should get more sleep . We agreed mostly because we didn't know what waited for us on the other side of the door . That thought made this room feel like the safest place in the world , or where this was. We slept three at a time . After that we ate what food we had left . With energy and a full stomach there was nothing left to do but to venture out .
" Well what ever that was last night seemed to have stopped for a while now . " said James
" With how much it caused the building to shake it has to be very heavy , large maybe but heavy for sure . " said Taco
" We still have to move with caution . After it Yell or groaned the elevator door opened again . With that being the case we don't know if anything came up . " said Jeff
" It would be best if we moved as though we never cleared this hall when we go out. Keep an eye out for anything and speak up if you see something . No matter what it may be " I told the group
We moved the beds one at a time and when we got to the final bed James gave the group a final nod and moved it . Liz opened the door and we stood back ready for anything . As the door opened we could see the hallway lights . They were dem as though someone had come along and took some of the life out of them . Also the floor was wet ! Not just wet but kind of flooded. I looked up at the windows and it was dark out side . Also every room had no lights on ! I'm not sure if we turned them off or not but it made me uncomfortable .
" We should just keep moving . I don't see a need to recheck the rooms unless we plan on staying here another night " I told the group
Everyone looked and gave an agreement . As we got back to the entrance of the facility I noticed there where vines growing up the walls. Also the front door was broken . Rusted at the hinges and broken off. The floors seemed darker and much more dirt was on the surface. before I could gather my thoughts on what I was seeing Jeff spoke up .
" Is it me or dose it seem like a lot of time has passed since going into the room ? " he said to the group
No one said a word but it made sense !
" It would appear that way but how much time ? " asked James
" The hinges on the door rusted away then it fell off . I'd say too much time . Also how dose this effect us now ? " asked Janet
We turned to the direction of the remaining two hallways . The locked door remained locked . It was the only thing time didn't seem to effect. We all started to walk down the path where the elevator was located. As we approached it we noticed two stairways on both sides of the elevator . They had double swinging doors with a dirty window we couldn't see through .
" The worst thing that could happen to us would be getting in this elevator and getting stuck . " I told the group
" Stairs it is " said Sterling
We walked through the double door and there they were stairs. Only thing is they were filled with cement ! Where the floor should have dipped down to the first step it was all even. the rail that you would use to help you keep balance ran right into the floor and disappeared into the cement.
" Why would they close an entrance to the basement like this ." asked Liz
" I'm not sure but they made sure of two things . One don't let anything in and two nothing comes out " said James
It puzzled my mind as to why they went to the extreme to close this off like that ! We checked to see if maybe there was a back door but there wasn't . Also coming out of the stair way we noticed it started to rain out side . Rain water crept in the front door and ran down the hall where we spent the night . Flashes of lighting lit up the hallway with the elevator and we all turned toward one another to decided what we would do next.
" Well here we are in another fucked up situation " I said to the group
" Yeah its obvious what they want us to do and with that being said I really don't see another option. " said Taco
" What if we waited this out another night in the room ? " said Liz
" We don't know how this place may turn out if more time passes . Also the moment we try to do something different this place pushes us along anyway . The last thing we need is for a push to happen while that thing is active . " said Jeff
" He's right what ever that thing is I don't think its something we can handle. " I replied
" Even if we take the elevator it may bring us to that thing . " said sterling
" That may be true but we know it isn't active right now . I'd rather us risk a chance of running into it on our own , rather than being forced to possibly meet this thing. " said Janet
As we spoke the rain fell harder and the flashes became more consistant . We all came to the concusion that this elevator was the best choice . No one said it but the locked hallway scared the shit out of us . The red tape was across it for a reason and red always means danger . We walked up to the elevator and with a flash of light I noticed there was no button to call the elevator . We waited for another flash and nothing !
" What do we do now ? We can't even call this damn thing !" yelled Janet over the thunder in the background.
" We have to wait for it to come " said James
" We know it comes at least twice . Once with the monster and once with out . " said Taco
" Sheese I sure hope it isn't a monster Taco " replied Sterling
We all stood and waited for the elevator . We choose not to go back to the room because we wouldn't be able to hear the ding over the thunder . I'm not sure how much time had passed but the ding was faint but there . We could see the lights from the gaps of the elevator doors and then it opened. There was what appeared to be blood on the floor . Although it was dry , it had been there for some time . We walked in and saw only three buttons . Which was strange because this place form the outside had many floors. B which we believed was basement , seven and twelve . Seven was the floor chosen . The elevator doors closed and the light flickered as it moved. Strange thing was it felt as if it moved sideways and not up and down . It moved for a good amount of time before stopping and dinging twice . The doors open and there was a black space . No light , just what seemed to be endless darkness ! We could see only as much as the flickering light allowed us to . We couldn't see the walls or floor not even the ceiling . We all just backed up in the elevator as much as possible ! Taco had already pressed the button to move to floor tweleve . The doors closed and the elevator dinged. Our hearts raced as the doors closed .
" That was the best disappointment I've ever experienced ! " said Sterling
" A real monster would have been a bit much " replied Liz
" We can't count that possibility out just yet . Just because we didn't see it dosen't mean it isn't here " said James
" Places like this aren't suppose to exist , yet here we are . We can say the same for monsters . " replied Jeff
The thought of a monster put a real fear deep inside my heart. Even though we didn't see it. those sounds where like nothing I've ever heard before . Coupled with the fact what ever it was made the entire building shake and this place was huge . I couldn't shake the fact that we actually may still run into this thing . This thought I just couldn't shake for the life of me . Before I could put too much thought into it the elevator stopped moving and dinged. We all stepped back extermly nervous as to what we would see on the other side . The door opened and there was a stair case that lead further down. The stones that made up the stair way looked ancient . There was no light but there was a bag at the bottom . The door stayed open and we proceeded to walk out . The light stopped flickering which helped up see as we walked down . We got to the bottom and I looked back . I picked it up the bag and opened it and there were what looked clear sticks inside . I reached in and pulled one out and it was a giant glow stick . I cracked it in half , gave it a shake and it started to glow. As is started to glow the elevator door closed. The stick gave off a lot of light it surprised us all .
" There's a bunch of them in here " I told the group
" Don't break any more . That bag was left for a reason and we don't know how long we may be going with out light " said Taco
" I think he's right " said Jeff
I closed the bag and shown the light behind us . This part of the building or where ever we are was made of sand colored stones . Everything from the floor to the ciling and walls . There where a few different walk ways but one had another bag by it . As well as a set of bones . The bag loooked to be old and I picked it up . There where sticks inside this as well , not as many as we had though. . Along with a note book . The pages had symbols drawn on the top right hand corner . Each page had a part of a map drawn on . The symbols where used to piece together the puzzle with out ripping the pages out .
" Who ever this is must have drawn this map , or some of it . It would appears this person started to try and get out of here and drew what walk ways had down them . " Said Jeff
" This looks to be a drawing of an unfinished maze . The parts of the maze are draw differently too . Like different had writing " said Taco
" Yeah do you see the skull and bones they drew when encountering the dead ends? " said James
We all knew what this meant . Who ever this person is was part of a group that died off . They made it this far and one by one the maze took their lives . This person was the last and decided to give up and not confront the fate that came upon the others . Now we are here ! With a bag of industrial sized glow sticks that wont last forever . That with a strong persuasion that the elevator wont come back !
