Spencer

It was finally the weekend yet again.

I couldn't be happier.

This was going to be the first weekend in a while where I was finally able to be alone. I'll have no friends staying over. My sister will hopefully not bother me. I just want to be alone.

That is until my phone vibrated next to me. I knew it was a text message and I just couldn't bear myself to look at it. Just then my phone vibrated again signaling another text message came in. I decided to just get it over with and check to see who it was.

To my surprise, it wasn't Aspyn or Brynley. Not even my annoying cousin, Dylan. It was some unknown number.

Unknown: Hi

Unknown: This is Spencer, right?

Unknown: I didn't get the wrong number?

Me: Who is this?

Unknown: Harry

Me: How did you get my number?

Harry: Dylan gave it to me. I hope that's alright.

Me: I didn't give him permission to give you my number, but you have it now, so I guess that's that

Harry: I can pretend I don't have it

Me: What did you want Harry?

Harry: You have to do your end of our deal

Me: I never said that I would go through with it

Harry: I don't care if you didn't fully go through with it, we're hanging out today

Me: No thank you

Harry: I'm picking you up in 15 minutes so you better be ready

Me: You don't know where I live

Harry: Dylan will happily tell me

Me: Fine, I'll be ready in 15 minutes, but I'm driving myself to wherever we're going

Harry: Not happening.

Harry: If you drive yourself, then you'll take yourself home whenever. I'm coming to get you.

Harry: I'm going to need your address

Me: As you said, Dylan will happily give it to you

I threw my phone down on my bed and got up. I guess I was not spending my Saturday like I wanted to. I had to go out with Harry when I wanted to stay in my bed all day. I guess my plans change.

I decided to take a quick shower before I changed out of my pajamas. I quickly washed my hair and body and got out. It was record timing for me. I usually take 20-minute showers, but Harry said that he was coming to get me in 15 minutes and made me speed my shower routine up.

I wrapped my towel around my body and hopped out of the shower. I left my bathroom and went into my closet to pick out something to wear. I put on some light-washed blue jeans and one of my oversized tees. The shirt I just so happened to choose was my Fleetwood Mac shirt. I put on some plain white socks and then went back into my bathroom.

I got out my blow dryer and dried my hair the best I could with the short amount of time that I had. I brushed through my hair when I was sure I had no time left and felt that it was still a bit damp. I didn't care all that much though. I grabbed a hair tie from my drawer and put it around my wrist in case I wanted to put my hair up later on.

I quickly brushed my teeth and then went to pick out a pair of shoes. I ended up going with the first pair that caught my eye. I slipped my black high-top converse on my feet and was finally ready to leave. I didn't bother wasting any more time by putting on makeup.

I grabbed my phone from the middle of my bed, picked up my keys and wallet from my desk, and left my room. I ran up the steps taking them two at a time and was now entering the kitchen. My phone buzzed in my hand just as I was about to leave through the side door.

Harry: Your 15 minutes were up 5 minutes ago.

Harry: I'm still waiting outside your house

I locked my phone and shoved it into my back jeans pocket. I left the house through the side door and saw a black truck waiting on the street in front of my house. I saw Harry waiting inside of it looking bored as ever. I got into the passenger seat and looked at Harry.

"You're 5 minutes late," he spoke.

"I don't know how you expected me to get ready in 15 minutes," I shrugged. "I was barely awake when you first texted,"

"Next time get ready faster," he said as he started his truck. "I have plans for us,"

"These plans better involve some food because I'm starving,"

"That's the first place we're going actually," he said.

"I'm surprised that you're not one of those women that are afraid to eat in front of someone," Harry said as we were in the middle of eating our breakfast.

Harry had taken me to a small diner that was in town. I have never seen this diner before so I was quite skeptical about it. It was in the part of town where I basically never go to, which made sense on how I had never seen it before. Harry swears that it was the best diner he's ever been to so I had to trust his word.

"I don't understand why people are scared to eat in front of people," I shrugged as I took a bit of my french toast. "We all eat so why should we be scared to do it in front of other people?"

"I guess you're right," he shrugged.

"Why did you want to hang out with me?" I asked him, leaning back in my seat.

"I'm not all that sure," he answered at first before thinking of what to say next. "I've heard people talking about you before and thought I should hang out with you to form my own opinion,"

"And what is your opinion on me?" I was intrigued by his answer.

"I haven't been around you enough to properly form an opinion on you, but so far you're good company,"

"I'm glad I'm good enough company to where you wake me up on a Saturday and drag me out of my house," I said, eating some more of my hashbrowns.

"Why is it you didn't want me to pick you up?" he asked. "Did you not want me to know where you lived?"

"It's not that, no," I shook my head. "You've heard the names people at school call me, right? Rich girl?"

"I have, yeah," he nodded.

"I don't like people seeing my house," I answered. "Yes, my parents have money. But that isn't who I am. My parents have the money, I don't. The only people that are ever at my house are either my relatives or my best friends. If other people that I'm not remotely close to know where I live they'll treat me differently because of my house or they'll use me for things, so I play it safe and don't ever let anyone come over,"

"I understand," he nodded.

"How do you understand?"

"Can you keep a secret?" he asked and I nodded. "My parents are also rich,"

I furrowed my eyebrows at the secret he shared.

"Have you never heard how many of my friends or people from the football team ever complain about why I don't let them come over to my house?" he asked.

"I don't really pay attention to any of them,"

"Well, they are always trying to invite themselves over which I always refuse because I don't want them knowing that I'm also "rich"," he said, putting quotations around him being rich.

"Not even your close friends know this about you?"

"I'm not really close to anyone, really," he said. "I talk to a lot of people, but not enough to let them inside my life so much,"

"Then why are you telling me about this?"

"Because I asked you about why you didn't want people at your house so I thought it was fair for me to do the same,"

"You are something else, Styles," I smiled.

"Are you ready to go to the next place?" he asked as he waved down the waiter to get the check.

"I don't really have a choice, do I?" I asked. "You wouldn't let me drive myself,"

"I guess not then, Lamay," he smiled, teasing me with my last name.

I could already tell I was going to have a fun day today. He might have woken me up on a Saturday morning where I wanted to spend my day alone, but I'll have a good time being with him. There was something about him that made me want to spend time with him. It could be his personality or just him in general, I'm not quite sure.

The only question that I have for myself is if I'm ready to let someone else into my life. I've let Aspyn and Brynley into my life and that has worked out pretty well for the most part. I guess letting someone else in my life may not be that bad.

Especially if that someone was Harry.

I never thought I could let anyone else into my life, but look at me. I'm growing as a person.
