Let's begin with the chapter now.
Siya's POV
We were making our way to the training hall when we saw Sakshi, again.
I was trying to avoid her as much as I could, but it seemed Sid was fuming in anger.
She opened her mouth to say something but a furious Sid cut her off.
"Dare you say anything against any of them, I'll get you fired," Sid said, roaring at her.
I saw her flinching but then composing herself, she said "I see, you both have really cast your spell on these two boys."
I looked at Akash but he was quiet.
Why wasn't he saying anything even though he can see how she's still insulting us?
"Listen, I very well know neither of these two are committed to you, so why are you so bothered if they spend time with us or not?" I said, taking a deep breath. "Moreover, you called us a whore sometime before, but I can clearly see you're the one trying to gain attention of two men here who're not at all interested in you and, as far as I know, your characteristic is similar to that of a whore."
She visibly paled at my words, but I don't think I said anything wrong.
She was the one behaving like a whore and accusing me and Kriti of it? How dare she.
"You... you" she tried to argue, but one glare from Akash and she shut her mouth.
Taking slow steps towards her, he said "I warned you Sakshi, stay the fuck away from them or you'll face my wrath. One more mistake from your end and I'll deal with you my way. "
She was just staring at him for a few seconds and when she didn't say anything, Akash gestured for all of us to move.
When we were a little ahead of her, she opened her useless mouth again and said "what does she have that I don't?"
This made me and Akash halt in my steps. I looked at Kriti and Sid and they were looking in our direction.
He gestured for me to stay and asked Kriti and Sid to proceed to the training hall.
Giving a glare in Sakshi's direction, they both nodded in our direction and went away.
Taking a deep breath and linking our hands, Akash turned and we walked to her.
She was still staring at our interlinked hands when Akash spoke, making her head shoot up at us.
"You want to know what she has that you don't? I'll tell you. She's everything you're not and can never be. She isn't selfish like you. Unlike you, she's selfless and don't even think of comparing your nature and behavior with her. She knows what a family is and respects her dear ones. Unlike you, she knows how to respect others." He said with anger.
"Don't even get me started on what qualities she possesses in terms of a professional. Have you ever seen her CV (curriculum vitae)? You'll be shocked to see the coding languages she knows. I think it's seven, right Siya? " he asked, looking at me.
I nodded my head, but... how did he know about it?
"See, you're nowhere near her and do you know the reason why I don't give you attention?" he asked, looking at her.
She just shook her head.
"Because you aren't her and can never be. My heart, soul, body belong to only one person, "he said, pointing at me.
She looked at me with rage.
"Dare you even think about doing anything to her, I'll wipe your existence. Not to mention, the same applies to Kriti as well. Don't you dare do or say anything that would offend any of the two girls. You wouldn't want to face my wrath, would you? " he said in a dangerously calm tone, but I could figure out he was very, very angry, more like furious.
"Did you understand what I said?" he asked her in a calm tone.
When I looked at her, her face was pale and she just nodded her head.
"You should be thankful to me Sakshi that I didn't take any action against you. If you don't want anything bad happening to you, stay away from the four of us, got it? " he said, pointing his fingers at her.
Without waiting for her reply, Akash turned around along with me.
Dragging me with him, he took me to our training hall, but before entering, he left me and said "go inside. I'll come in a few minutes. "
I nodded and he went away.
Taking a deep breath, I went to the training hall and searched for Kriti.
She was sitting on the second last bench, talking to one boy.
What was his name? Yeah Sanchit.
"Hey guys" I plastered a smile on my face and greeted them.
"Hey. Is everything fine? "she asked me.
I nodded my head and sat down beside Kriti.
"Hey Sanchit, How're you? " I asked him.
"Yeah, I am fine. Seeing you after so many days. Where have you all been? "he asked.
"Oh, we went to attend my brother's wedding," Kriti replied.
"Oh, what about you?" he asked me.
"I accompanied her," I said.
"Oh. Can I ask you both something? "he asked, looking at both of us.
We nodded, asking him to continue.
"I've always seen you both together. Do you guys know each other well? " he asked.
"Yeah actually, we have been friends since college and we were roommates as well," I answered.
"Oh... and both of you got placed in the same company?" he asked and we nodded.
"Wow... that's so cool. You're lucky "he said and I looked at Kriti.
"Yes, I know, I am lucky to have her," I said.
"Yes you're," Sanchit said, looking at Kriti.
I think I just saw a dreamy look on Sanchit's face.
Clearing my throat, I asked, trying to strike a conversation, "so Sanchit, where're you from?"
"Oh, I am from Hyderabad but I am here now. What about you Kriti? " he asked, looking at her.
This guy here, I think, is interested in her.
Before she could answer, we heard a throat clearing and when we looked up as to who interrupted our conversation, it was Sid.
What does he want now?
"I see you guys are enjoying yourselves a lot," he said, his eyes glancing between Kriti and Sanchit.
"So?" Kriti asked, rolling her eyes.
"I see you're quite comfortable with each other," he said again.
"So?" she asked again.
"So Sanchit, you report to me right?" he asked him.
He nodded his head.
"So, mind telling me what the error is in this programme?" He asked while making some changes to the program on Sanchit's computer.
"I... I don't know, sir," he admitted after staring at it for a few minutes.
"How will you survive in this tough competition? Sanchit, I would suggest you not to indulge in 'extra curricular activities' here" he said, looking at Kriti.
When I looked at her, she was fuming now.
"Sorry sir, I'll try to be more attentive from now on," he said and went outside the training hall.
Once Sanchit was out of sight, she asked looking at Sid with fury "Why are you always after someone who tries to talk to me?"
"I didn't do anything," he shrugged.
"Oh please, I know you very well. Why did you insult him? "she asked, keeping her hands over her chest.
"I didn't insult him. I just wanted to know if he was paying attention to what me and Akash have been training you all for so long, "he said in his defense.
"Oh? You haven't even pinpointed him in the last three months, so why now?" she asked with fire in her eyes.
He didn't have any answer to that.
I was mentally praying for Sid to admit whatever she was saying, otherwise she would create riots.
"You tell me why you're after every boy that I try to befriend? You first don't want to be my friend, then try to insult someone who I want to be friends with. What's your problem? " she asked.
"Stay away from that boy," he said in a dangerously low voice which was only audible to me and her.
"Why?" she asked with equal fury, glaring at him.
"That's because he's interested in you," he said.
"So? As far as I know, it shouldn't be your concern, "she shrugged.
"It's my concern, Kriti," he explained.
"You're no one to me, Sid. I've just agreed with you to gain my forgiveness. What more do you want? Do you want me to stay single all my life? I am independent now. I've the right to befriend whoever I want and date whoever I want and you have no say in it, "she said.
"Kriti that's not right" he argued.
"Sid, listen to me very carefully and listen well. If you would've been my friend, I would've listened to whatever you'd say, but I am sorry to say, you've lost all the rights that you had once, "she said.
Sid was just staring at her for a few seconds and then he went away.
She took a deep breath and I squeezed her hand to assure her that everything would be fine, eventually.
She nodded at me with a small smile.
Akash's POV
I was fuming in anger because of Sakshi.
I've repeatedly asked her to stay away from me and girls but seems she's thickheaded.
I was in the washroom, calming myself by repeatedly throwing cold water on my face.
It calm me a little but listening to her accusing Siya brought back the memories which I had buried deep inside me.
The accusations she faced when the pictures were leaked came in my mind again when Sakshi was insulting her. For a few minutes when Sakshi started insulting them, my mind was blank as all the previous insults Siya faced when we were in college came rushing to my mind making me numb.
It was like Deja-vu, listening to the same insults all over again.
"You...I never thought you'd be a whore. You slut...I always thought you would be cultured and belong to a conventional family but everyone here now knows how big a gold digger you are"
"I don't think anyone here disagrees with me. She's a whore and will always remain one,"
"Oh my my...look at her, she has wrapped him around her little finger,"
"How much do you charge per night? Spend a night with me and I'll fuck you so hard that you'll forget him."
"I was right she's nothing but a money minded gold digging whore."
"Noooooo" I screamed and threw the bottle that I was holding in my hand at the mirror, shattering it into million pieces.
Listening to the shattering sound, some employees rushed to me and one of them asked me "hey, are you fine?"
"Yes, I am, thank you for asking" I gave them a warm smile but I was in rage from inside.
My Siya was being called names, again and I didn't do anything, again.
But this time I won't let her go.
I'll have to deal with her my way.
"I am sorry for bothering you all" I said, looking at them.
"It's fine. We'll get the mirror replaced, not an issue" one of them said and shaking my hands with them, I proceeded to the training hall.
When I was just outside the hall, I saw a trainee reporting to Sid coming out.
What was his name? Yeah Sanchit.
He had a frown on his face and I thought to enquire about it but he passed me in such a hurry that I didn't ask him what happened.
Shrugging, I went to the hall just to see Sid sitting on a chair on the dice with a scowl on his face.
What happened to him now?
When I looked at the two girls, they were already looking in my direction.
Kriti was glaring at Sid and when I looked at Siya, she gave me a smile, assuring me that everything's fine.
Well, looking at both of them, I don't think everything's fine.
I need to talk to both of them later.
Taking my seat on a chair, I gained everybody's attention by clearing my throat.
When everybody settled, I said "so how are you all?"
"We're fine, sir" someone replied from the crowd.
"Okay then, though we continued the training last week online, I want to know if you all were really sincere enough to complete the assignments" I said and they all nodded.
Checking their assignments, I proceeded to the screen and explained to them the next few slides.
When I looked at Sid, he was lost in his own thoughts.
"Sid, would you like to continue?" I asked him.
"Yeah, sure" he said, snapping out of his thoughts.
"So, as Akash explained.." and then he continued with his session.
Soon, lunch time came by and I was waiting for Siya and Kriti to accompany me and Sid for lunch.
They both came to us but I saw Sanchit tagging behind them.
I heard a low growl from beside me and when I turned to my left, I saw Sid, fuming in anger.
"So, ready to go for lunch?" I asked them both when they stood ahead of us.
"Actually bhaiya, we'll not be accompanying you two to lunch today" Kriti said.
"Why?" I asked them.
"That's because we've decided to have lunch with Sanchit today" Siya said and I looked at her agape.
Did she just turn me down to have lunch with this...this...trainee?
"But we decided to have lunch together" I said, acting cool.
"Yeah but then we changed plan since nobody was accompanying him for lunch today, so we decided to accompany him" Kriti said, chirping.
When I looked at Siya, she was smiling at Sanchit and he was smiling back at her.
Before I could say something else, Kriti said "we'll see you later, bye."
They didn't even listen to my reply and went out of the hall, leaving me and Sid behind.
"Bloody bastard" I growled loud.
"Yes, he is" Sid said, punching the nearby wall.
"Why're you angry at him?" I asked him.
"That's because he's eyeing my girl" he said, glaring in the direction where they all went.
"I think he's eyeing my girl" I voiced my doubt.
"Why do you think so?" I asked him.
"That's because today morning I saw him flirting with Kriti" he said.
"Why are you doubting he's eyeing Siya?" he asked me.
"Because of the way he just now smiled at her, like he admires her" I said.
"Is he trying to impress both the girls?" he asked me.
"Even if he is, I won't let him step near my Siya and I am sure Siya will maintain safe distance from him herself" I said.
"But I can't guarantee for Kriti" I said.
"What do you mean?" he asked, narrowing his eyes at me.
"I mean to say Kriti is smart, beautiful and not to mention single as well. What if she doesn't stop his advances towards her and if she gets genuinely interested in him?" I said.
"No" Sid said, horrified.
"Dude, it's just my doubt, I am not sure it'll happen" I said.
"Even if it's a possibility, I won't let him near her" he said.
"What're you going to do?" I asked him.
"You'll see" he said with a wicked grin.
