Are you all enjoying the book so far?
Before I begin with the chapter, I want to share a screenshot with you all.
As you all can see, the views have dropped significantly since last 4-5 chapters. A drop of almost 140 views from chapter 68 to chapter 73.
Do I or my story really deserve this treatment?
Is the story for you all not intriguing enough since the flashback came out coz the views have started decreasing since flashback was revealed.
Just to remind you all, this story isn't mystery genre. That's why I haven't kept much in mystery side and frankly speaking, I am not into keeping the story mysterious. It's a simple, sweet, romantic story.
The treatment my story is getting, it really breaks my heart.
I've always been open to any suggestion/criticism but until and unless I know from my readers what's wrong, how will I make changes?
For you all, reading might just be a means of entertainment but for me, it's my passion.
I am literally giving my 'me' time to this story to give you all regular updates, even though my schedule is quite packed but now I feel like, I don't know if it's worth it.
I don't know who should I be disappointed with, me, my writing, my storyline or readers.
Let's begin with the chapter now because as always, many readers will skip this note.
Akash's POV
I was waiting for Sid and looking at both Siya and Kriti, who were giving death glares to each other.
They both look like little angry kittens, with their hands over their chests and their eyes narrowing at each other.
Cute.
I was just smiling, looking at them.
When I looked at Siya, glaring at Kriti, she had a small pout and I felt like kissing it.
I don't know why, but I can't control my perverted thoughts around her.
Looking at her, my heart still flutters.
She still has the upper hand on my emotions and I just realized that no matter whatever she does to me, I'll always be a love sick puppy for her.
Suddenly, I heard two voices which brought me back to reality.
"Akash."
"Akash bhaiya."
When I looked back at them, they were both still looking at me.
"What happened?" I asked them.
"Were you listening to me?" Siya asked me, narrowing her eyes at me.
I gulped down.
What were they fighting about?
Oh yeah, Sid.
"Yes, of course, I was listening to you," I said, trying to act confident.
"Then what did I just say?" she asked me, trying to intimidate me by keeping her hands on her chest.
My cute kitten.
I chuckled, but oh boy, that was such a wrong move from my end.
"You're laughing?" she burst out.
"But baby, why are you scolding me?" I asked.
What was my fault?
"You aren't taking my side" she exclaimed.
"That's because he'll take my side," Kriti said.
What do I have to take side for?
"Sorry again, but why do I need to take anybody's side?" I asked them.
"You were not really listening to us were you?" Siya asked me.
I scratched the back of my neck. How could I tell her the sinful thoughts that clouded my mind when they were both arguing, which distracted me from the topic of their argument?
"Uh... actually I was thinking about the.. the... training. Yeah, I was thinking about the training that I need to give you all tomorrow, "I said.
"Bhaiya, just because you both are together, you don't have to act like you're scared of her," Kriti said.
"I am not scared of her," I said.
"Yeah, yeah," Kriti said.
"But seriously, tell me were you both arguing?" I asked them.
"I asked what was the need to invite Sid?" Kriti said.
"And I said that we could hang out like old times," Siya said.
Oh, Sid was the topic of argument.
"Honestly Kriti, I think Siya is right. What's the harm in hanging like old times? " I asked her.
"When he's around, everything goes wrong," she said, stretching her hands over her head.
"Why?" I asked her.
"Because he still affects me," she said and her eyes widened.
"What did you say?" I asked her.
"I mean to say that... he still has the power to affect how I feel about him. I mean in a friendly way, obviously, "she said nervously.
I eyed her in suspicion and, just on cue, the doorbell rang.
"Sid's here" Siya screeched, making us all deaf and then went to the door to open it.
"The devil's here" Kriti muttered under her breath and sat on the couch.
Sid appeared in front of us, Siya following him with a wide grin plastered on her face.
She's still a kid.
"Sid's here" she said from behind him and grinned.
I eyed her weirdly and she gave me a big smile, a genuine one that reached her eyes.
"Okay, what are we supposed to do now?" I asked them.
"Dinner?" Sid suggested cluelessly.
"It isn't even dinner time and since we'll be ordering from a restaurant, why don't we do something exciting?" Siya said.
"Okay, what do you suggest?" I asked her.
"Why don't we play something?" she suggested.
"Okay, what do you want to play?" I asked her.
"Hmmm... what about ludo?" she suggested.
"Not a bad idea," I said.
"But we'll play in pairs," she said, looking at both Kriti and Sid.
"No," Kriti said.
"Yes," Sid said.
"Why don't you want to play in a pair?" Siya asked.
"Because it's my wish," she shrugged.
"Don't tell me you're affected by Sid," Siya said and Kriti gasped.
"Of course not. Why would I? "she said, looking at Sid.
Sid was as usual, grinning like a fool.
"I'll pair up with Akash," Siya said even before Kriti could pair up with her.
"Why can't you pair up with me?" Kriti said, narrowing her eyes at her.
"That's because it's been a long time since we both made a team. Right Akash? " Siya said and came to me, linking my arms with her.
She was gesturing to me through her eyes to play along.
"Yeah, I want Siya to be my partner," I said, looking at both Kriti and Sid.
"You don't have an option princess, you just have to pair up with me," Sid said and grinned.
"Of course I know it," she rolled her eyes and said in a duh tone.
"All right, let me bring the board," Siya exclaimed as she entered her room.
"I thought we would be playing on the phone," I said.
"Some things need to be played on board bhaiya. Playing them on the phone isn't that fun, "Kriti said, removing the coffee table so that we all could sit on the floor to play it.
"I am back" Siya said excitedly and kept the dice and board on the floor.
"Since you are both together, you'll sit together," Siya said.
"What do you mean we're together?" Kriti said, glaring at her.
"I mean for the game, of course," she said, clearing her throat.
"Okay, let the game begin," I said, and Kriti arranged all the tokens in their respective places.
"I'll play first," Siya said and rolled the dice but couldn't get a six.
Next was my turn, and I also couldn't get a six.
The dice were then tossed to Kriti, who received a six.She squealed in joy. "Yes" she said and squeezed Sid's hand, which made him freeze.
He just looked at her with so much admiration, just like the way me and Siya look at each other.
When I looked back at Siya, she was also looking at them.
My baby was so perceptive that she was attempting to play cupid without her parents' knowledge.
I love her, she cares for everyone around her, so why doesn't her mummy acknowledge her and make her go through hell just because she loved me?
I sometimes think is Siya... adopted? If not, then why does her mother treat her like this?
I know even adopted children shouldn't be treated the way she was treated by her mother, but this is the sad reality in many parts of the world and this is just my wild guess.
I really wanted to know what was wrong with her mother, but I had decided to avoid the question for a few days because if it's true and Siya knows about it, she would be heartbroken again and I can't let her heart shatter again.
I would rather prefer not to ask this question my whole life and let the seed of doubt take me with me to my grave than to ask her the question and hurt her again.
"Akash, your turn" Siya shook me and brought me out of my thoughts.
"Yes" I said and rolled the dice.
I don't know fortunately or unfortunately, we lost and Sid and Kriti won.
"Yes" Kriti squealed like a kid and hugged Sid tightly.
He lifted her off the ground and she shouted "Yes, we won."
"Yeah, we beat the princess" he said, hugging her back.
After a few seconds, when they realized their position, he slowly kept her on her feet and looked at her.
Their eyes were locked for a few seconds when Siya cleared her throat, bringing them both out of their trance.
"Let's order the food, shall we?" I said to ease the thick air around us.
Siya's POV
I was so happy that Kriti and Sid were finally at least talking to each other.
I couldn't wait for them to fall in love with each other.
Well, Sid is already in love with her and somewhere I know even Kriti is, she is just stubborn to show Sid how she felt when he stopped talking to her.
I just wish they both end up together.
"What are you thinking?" Akash asked me.
I turned to him and then turned to them again, who were as usual, bickering over something.
"I just want them to be happy and if their happiness lies with each other, I want them to really try hard for it. Everyone who loves each other truly deserves to be with each other, end up together, "I said and leaned my head on his shoulder.
Caressing my head and then kissing my hair, he said "I know and I agree with you, but Kriti is too stubborn to show her feelings I guess."
Sighing, I looked at him and I saw him already staring at me.
With a small smile, I said, "Do you think they both will walk past their differences to be together with each other, once Kriti realizes her feelings for Sid?"
"Honestly Siya, I don't know what she'll decide to do, but whatever she decides, we need to be with her. By all means, she has all the rights in the world to decide for herself. Moreover, I am quite sure if she realizes her feelings for him, she'll confess it, "he said.
"You think so?" I asked, unsure.
"Yes baby" he said.
"How can you be so sure?" I asked him.
"I don't know, you can say gut feeling" he shrugged.
"Okay, don't you think she'll deny it if she even realizes her feelings for Sid?" I asked.
"Well, there's a chance she will, but what are friends for?"he said and winked at me.
"Yes, what are friends for?" I said and gave him a mischievous smile.
I saw him looking at me so intently, without blinking his eyes.
"What're you looking at?" I asked him.
"You've changed so much Siya" he said.
Looking at my confused face, he said "I mean to say, in terms of appearance. Look at you, you've grown taller, your hair is much more silky now, your features are much more sharp now. "
I gave him a smile but then he said sadly, "I missed out on so much Siya. I couldn't get to see you transform from a mere teenager to a beautiful young woman. "
I cupped his cheeks and made him look at me.
"So what if you didn't see me grow? We're with each other now and that's all that matters. As I told you earlier as well, let's just forget about what happened. We'll make new memories, together "I said and kissed him on his cheeks.
He gave me his best smile and said "I know, but your suffering is something that I'll always regret" and taking my hands in his, kissed my palms.
"Don't think about it," I said.
"Okay then, I've decided that from today, we'll not talk about what happened to us in the past. Let's just forget about it like it never happened. Let's start afresh. What do you say? " he said.
"Like we just met?" I asked him.
"Yes, like we just met," he said.
I know he was feeling guilty for something that wasn't his fault and I really would do anything that he said to make him forget it.
"Okay then, let's start by introducing ourselves," I said.
"Okay, hey baby, I am Akash Sharma" he said and forwarded his hand to me for a handshake.
I glared at him for using this endearment.
"What?" he asked.
"Akash, we've just met. You don't even know me yet and you're calling me baby "I said, rolling my eyes, keeping my hands over my chest.
"Oh yeah, I forgot. It's just that calling you my baby is at the tip of my tongue, so by default it comes up, "he said, smiling sheepishly.
"Akash" I said.
"Siya" he copied me.
"You don't know me yet, how come you know my name then? Have you been stalking me Mr. Sharma? " I teased him.
"Oh my god, how did you come to know about it? "I thought I'd kept this secret well enough to myself," he teased back.
"You know I am a smart girl" I said, raising my imaginary collar.
"Yes you're, that's why you've trapped me around your little finger" he said, winking at me.
I gasped at that and hitting his shoulder, I said "I haven't trapped you at all."
"Yes, you're my queen" he said.
"But I've just met you, how can I trap you around my little finger" I asked, batting my eyelashes.
He was a little surprised by my actions and I was stifling my laughter looking at his face but then I composed myself.
I wanted to show him that I could flirt too.
"Okay, so would you like to go out on a date with me?" he asked.
"Straight to dating? Don't you think you're a little fast as we just met? "I said, giving him my best smile.
"Oh you've no idea how long I've waited to go on a date with you, my queen" he said, caressing my cheeks with his thumbs when I felt something crawling up my thighs.
My breath hitched and he whispered in my ears "Relax my darling, this is just a teaser of how our date would be, but if you want, we can do much more."
His hands were still crawling up my thighs when Kriti screamed "food has arrived."
Listening to her, I detached myself from him and he just laughed.
I glared at him and said "if this is the way you want to start afresh, I would prefer not to do it, thank you very much."
This devil here was playing with my weakness and distracting me.
"I never knew you could flirt, baby" he whispered just above my lips and pecked them.
"Ewww you two, get a room" Sid said and when we looked at him, his eyes were shut.
Laughing, Akash stood, taking my hands in his, making me stand and said "get used to it Sid. I've got my love, my life after so long. I am not going to let any chance to shower my love on her go now."
I just smiled at his words.
